Chozi was mellow today, as he wandered from the pride's lands. He cleaned his paws as he hit the dry-grassy lands of the savannah, and just continued to walk. Normally Faudi met him at the borders - not wanting to come too close for fear of being captured for a slave.
When he had heard news that someone was plotting to capture the large lion, he warned the male away. He worried greatly for Faudi's safety, for the lion was night a fighter. He huffed a sigh. He missed the brightly colored lion, especially the constant gentle comfort the male provided. Of course, though, it had to be ruined. He didn't know what to do. Maybe he could try to find the lion again, but he chased him off rather violently.
He continued walking, hoping to clear his head and life his spirits.

Hadeth had wandered to an area she hadn't really been near yet. It was probably because she was nearby one of the prides that lived on the outskirts of the rouge lands, or where the rouge lands on the outskirts of all the other prides? Who was she to question geography right now. It really didn't matter to her one way or another which way it was because she belonged to none as of right now so it didn't really concern her, unless of course she stumbled upon someone's pride that wasn't entirely friendly... Then there would be a problem. For now, however, everything was gay and merry.
It wasn't before long she spotted a lankly chocolate colored male lion wandering not to far ahead of her. She came to a halt in her footsteps and eyed him for a moment. He didn't walk all macho like and authoritive so perhaps it was safe for her to approach. She picked her pace back up into it's normal speed and kept her distance still. Even a small lion could take her if it came down to it and she didn't want to risk it still.
She tried to give him a friendly greeting as she came within talking distance and came to a complete stop and prepared herself to bolt just in case things went south. "Hello."

Chozi was still sulking when he heard a voice call out. He looked up, unsure if the voice was addressing him or not, but he glanced around. A brightly colored Leotah was present, and no one else - so the voice had to come from her. "Hello!" he answered back, venturing a little closer. He was used to encounters, really - now that he belonged to a pride.
Though that didn't always prepare him. Just because the other feline was a hybrid as well did not mean she was friendly. He gave a hesitant smile. "What brings you out here?" She was very close to the pride's lines.
Not that she would not be welcomed. She was a hybrid and a quite beautiful one at that.

She watched as he looked up, looked around, noticed her and decided she had been the one to call out. She glanced about real quick just to reassure herself that it was just the two of them out there and settled knowing that she didn't have to worry about being sidelined by someone. "Is everything alright?" She couldn't help but noticed he seemed kinda down.
She listened intently as he asked her what had brought her this way. She closed the distance a tad bit more but still kept enough room to bolt if the need called for it. "Coincidence, more or less. Just happened to walk out this way today." She said with a faint smile. She noticed his hesitant one before he had spoke to her and wondered if it was nerves or just his sullenness that was creating the mood as such.
It didn't make her entirely uncomfortable but she hadn't ventured out this way yet and she wasn't entirely sure she was safe.

"Oh, um." Chozi started, realing he was still frowning and feeling a little silly. "I suppose it will be, eventually?" He was unsure. He had never lost a friend before - a brother, sure, but never a friend.
"A good coincidence then. There's no safer place around for those with mixed lineage." With the Koti close by not many dared to harm a hybrid. It was why he ventured out often. He didn't like to get his paws wet constantly in the marshes. Sometimes he craved running on solid ground without mud squishing between his paws.
Today wasn't one of those days, however, but he was glad for company now that he could no longer talk to his friend. He hoped the gentle lion would return eventually, when it was safer.

She gave him a quizzical look as he was unsure of whether or not everything would be okay. She tried to reassure him at this point. "I'm sure it will work out in the end." She got up and moved a little bit closer at this point, she was feeling sympathetic towards him.
His next comment concerned her a little bit. She didn't know that she had to watch out for anything besides the norm. "I feel as though I'm missing a huge part of that statement...." She frowned as she looked at him trying to piece together what he just said. "Is there something I should be looking out for?" She glanced around then for a moment and then looked back at him.
She knew hybrids weren't common, her mom and dad were purebloods of both and her and her brother never had any kind of an issue when they were growing up. She lived without fear of being treated differently because of her lineage. She had a feeling she was about to find out some interesting news.

"Missing...? Oh. Do you not know?" he fretted a bit, but the leotah probably needed to know if she was going to continue to travel around. "Not many prides are accepting of those without pure blood."
He hesitated for a moment. "Um, some are. Not many. They'll drive a hybrid away or, or murder them in cold blood. Its not very safe," he informed her. He didn't have a lot of luck wandering on his own, and he hoped that her time was better. He knew from experience - he has been chased off many times, but he was an angry youth and often picked fights on borders.
"Just that way though," he waved his paw in the direction he came from. "Is the Koti Kaikille. It's a safe haven, really. So, you're safe around here. Kuu is a really wonderful influence on the area surrounding her pride. She wouldn't allow any hybrid to be hurt those close to the borders of the pride..."

What didn't she know?! She was growing increasingly more curious by the second and was actually leaning forward in earnest awaiting for some form of an explanation for his words. It didn't seem she was going to have to wait too long for an answer.
His answer wasn't one she was entirely willing to want to accept. She gave him a quizzical look and blinked her eyes as she stared at him silently, absorbing the information he was feeding her like a sponge. He had to be joking, right? But alas he wasn't, he was stern serious and she frowned.
"That's not very pleasant sounding, or civil in the least bit...." Where on earth had she come to?
She looked in the direction of his paw as he explained the pride that was nearby and had to assume he was part of it. She then put together why he looked so lanky to her. He wasn't a full blooded lion. It all started to make sense to her now. She was used to seeing Leotahs, he was the first other type of hybrid she had ever seen.
"That's nice of her then. I'm assuming I'm almost on pride territory, if I'm not already then?"
She looked around once more and suddenly didn't feel as comfortable as she had before with the unsettling news he had so kindly dropped onto her lap. She decided she could however worry about it later if something came to pass that needed action that involved the topic he had mentioned.
"If you don't mind me asking, What are you exactly? At first I thought you were just a skinny lion but once you mentioned the Koti Kaikille I realized my mistake. I'm not used to seeing different kinds of hybrids."
She hoped that didn't come off as too rude.

Chozi gave a small tilt of his head, almost apologetic. He just didn't want the kind leotah to get injured from a lack of information. "Some prides just aren't very open..." He shuffled a little and smiled.
"Not yet, thought you'd be allowed to pass safely through. The marshes start very soon though, and the mud gets thick..." he trailed off. Sometimes it was hard to navigate but the mud blended into his fur so he didn't have to worry too much. The leotah's fur was white, though, and it could become rather messy. The grass had begun growing high once again and could be laid down for easier crossing, but he did not feel the need to say this.
He looked down at himself - a skinny lion! He could see where she was coming from, however. "Oh, I guess that's a pretty fitting description! My mother is a lioness," he explained. "And my father is a cheetah. A cheeton, we're called."
"There are also Leopons around here. They are those who have a leopard and lion parent." He forgot that some of the information he knew was not shared by all. He lived in the pride for quite some time now so he saw hybrids every day. It made him so happy that the cubs in the pride had a safe place to grow up without the dangers of getting killed. He was lucky enough to have an uncle that was a warrior, so he grew up safe except for his half brothers and sisters.

So it seemed. It was appalling to her that there were individuals who could do such things. Luckily enough, she hadn't had to experience anything of that sort yet. Hopefully she never would have to.
So she was close to one of the prides. She listened carefully as he explained and she made sure to keep a mental note of that, in case she ever came this way in the future. She was always out and about, so there was a possibility that she may come back this way. "A little mud never bothered anyone." She said with a smile. She wasn't one to care if she got dirty. It was a fact of life that it was bound to happen sooner or later.
She watched as he looked down at himself and explained his lineage. She had to say that she liked the combination. He was very sleek looking, unlike the massive bulk of most lions. It suited him. "So I guess your parents aren't here?" He had said it was a hybrid sanctuary. She wondered if he had siblings. Her parents had only Hercules and herself, it was a small family.
She listened as he explained that there were others around here and she was curious to know what they looked like. Perhaps another time she'd find out. "That is incredible that so many have made there way here. Or were most of them born in the area?" She was curious now.

"Oh, no. My mother does not like change. She lives in the roguelands and hasn't moved from there in a long while. My father travels a lot, I don't know where he would be." he told her, nodding a little as if you affirm what he was saying. "My siblings are out there, still. I came here alone, though my young nephew joined a while after I did..."
He paused, thinking for a moment. "I think only one litter was born into our pride so far. Most of the others came here for safety and security I think." The little ones were a giggly bunch. Their father was a large lion that was always happy and smiling, so he assumed that was where they had gotten their optimistic nature from.
"Most of the members were outcasts or simply looking for security," he explained. His thoughts of his friend was pushed to the back of his mind, and for the moment he was glad.

She really couldn't say it was weird, she left her family to go out and see the lands and as far as she knew Hercules was still with them. "So you're kinda in the same boat as me then." She said with a smile. Some just didn't like change and that was how it was, you can't make someone do something they aren't wanting or willing to do.
"It seems to me you've all got a nice thing going for you." She liked the sound of the place but she wasn't really looking for anyplace to call home right now. She liked to keep her options open, it left her room to travel this way.
"I'm Hadeth by the way." She realized with all this chitter chatter they hadn't told each other their names. She wondered if they would have just continued on and possibly left without knowing each others name had she not just said something. It made her smile at the thought and she glanced at the male before her.
"Where you heading anywhere in particular when I stopped you? We can keep moving if you like." She figured she'd offer now, especially after the mention of the particular animals that were lurking about.

"It's a very nice place," Chozi agreed, though it had its fault. Everything did and he had a great number of them! Still, he was content with where he was, and enjoyed the pride. Not everyone would, though, and he knew that. Even new friends did not have to agree.
"Oh! I'm Chozi," he resisted the urge to apologize for not introducing himself sooner. He was in the pride so long that he had just assumed everyone knew his name - it was a bad habit to get into!
"I was just taking a walk..." he sighed - the memory of his friend flashing brightly in his mind. "No particular direction, but we can walk if you like...?'

She would take his word for it, he seemed nice enough and she had enough faith that he wouldn't lie to her. She always liked to give people the benefit of the doubt before coming to a conclusion about them.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Chozi." She said with a smile as she made a mental note to remember him if she ever came back this way.
She listened as he paused to sigh and then told her if she wanted to go somewhere then they could walk. Poor thing, she really was curious as to know what was bothering him, but she didn't want to ask for fear of being rude. "I'd like to see your lands? I am curious about this place of yours." Perhaps that would keep his mind off of whatever it was that was bothering him.
