It had not been a very good past month for any of them. Among the number of things that could have possibly gone wrong, most of them seemed to worm their way in to happening. There were times you just needed to have a break, and by god, Rosalie was in need of one. With most of her work completed, and a little gentle persuasion, she was actually enjoying having a day out on the town, escorted by, in her opinion, one of the handsomest young men in town. She was no longer shy about showing it either, more than happy to lace her fingers with his as they walked through the street, occasionally glancing over to smile brightly at him as they talked. They'd managed to find a nice little place for lunch, and it had been more than a pleasant day for the two of them so far. The smith had also grown less shy of showing her affection in public, occasionally stealing quick kisses in the street like the couples she had rolled her eyes at in the past. But no longer! She was bubbling with affection and happiness, willing to show it no matter who happened to be watching. "Well! I think that ended up being a lovely meal." She hums, unable to restrain a grin, "Perhaps I've dragged you along enough. I'm sure you know somewhere we could go next, or at least somewhere interesting...Or am I going to be spoiled rotten some more?" She squeezes his hand, waiting for a reaction. There's not a care in the world she has, though perhaps she should be keeping an eye out for other acquaintances. ((Ahhh you two work out posting order, I have no idea -flops to bed-))

"Could be I've a place or two in mind," he says to her, and what sort've man would he be if there weren't no big grin on his face, one he can't seem to lessen nor put off? Rosalie just brings that out in him, a happiness that don't always shine out through the coarse, sometimes mocking manner that he and his twinsib are so well known for. There is also just a bit of bemusement, as if somewhere along the way he's realized how strange it is that he should be doting so over anyone at all. It ain't as if either he nor his brothers have any sort of reputation for romance: quite the opposite, really. They been heard to swear off the whole thing, more then once, and yet here he is trailing after Rosalie like a puppy, and while he's probably bought trinkets for whores in the past, he's never spent the whole day with a gel, taking her one place to another, buying things for her on a whim. Even better, for once there are no animals in sight! No Unwanted to tug at his belt and ask for carrots, no rooks to silently judge or steal his dinner off his plate, no Guardians staring suspiciously as he takes up the smith's hand and kisses each of her knuckles in turn. It's near as paradise as he can figure it can be. "Best place, though, it'll depend on how good y'might be at climbin'." He's lowered his voice, but someone close enough could still hear -- though there are few people who'd guess what he's implying. The Freds don't often go roof-walkin', but considering their backgrounds, it's a safe bet that if he's asking his lady about her ability to climb, the location he's considering taking her is somewhere that people are not supposed to go.

It's hard for her to believe they've known each other a year. There's been ups and downs, though all and all she's never been happier, and it shows on her face that she wouldn't rather have had it happen any other way. She would have never expected she would have fallen so hard as she has in a hundred years, why, only a year ago she was chasing off men with a fury like no other. Now? She's allowing him to occasionally spoil her with something small, cheeks flushing as she tries to refuse him, though not so hard that he won't if he truly means it well. Ah love, you strange creature...
"Climbing, huh?" She laughs, squeezing his hand lightly, "It's a good thing I didn't get all dolled up in a dress today. I think I can manage with some help." It's piqued her interest, that's for sure. After all, think of all the things she'll see differently from the rooftops! "If you're willing to show me the ropes that is."
Though it shouldn't be too much trouble for her at all, she's not about to say no to a little help. Perhaps any other girl would have paled at the thought, but Miss Satre has found she much prefers to listen to such suggestions. After all, there's no doubt he wouldn't have suggested it if he didn't think she could manage it.

Nyx Argyros tried to leave it a bit vague so that Raj can jump in whenever in that mini-journey. x.x; "Oh, won't need no ropes," he assures her airily, and if this response makes it seem that he does not get her analogy, that is probably correct. As Jay himself intimated, the Freds aren't ones for literary studies. "It's easy climbin'. Well." He pauses, looking at her sidelong with an odd little smile. "Easy for you'n me." It isn't the first time he's hinted that he knows that Rosalie isn't like other women, but like every other time it seems to be a compliment. Other women couldn't do what Rosalie can: and he for one appreciates the difference. So he will, provided she obliges him, turn their stroll in the direction of the better streets of Palisade, where those folk a bit higher up dwell. Neither of them are entirely out of place here; after all, they could be gawking at the pretty houses, or simply passing through. But before they get too far in, he intends to duck down a side street with her, and take her scampering through the allies, over walls, and to a hidden alcove, tucked between a rich man's park and a graveyard. But that's only if they don't get caught ..

~Lady Kanna~ It appears my post was a little vague, too. I guess it can be either before or after Rosa has learned how to scale a wall. Ghosting along Palisade's rooftops was as natural as breathing to the gypsy. Admittedly, it was not something that she did as often as she once had, but the familiarity of the movement was comforting, in its own way. More and more often, she walked or rode Oberon, acting almost like a normal person. Or rather, becoming more a warrior-Warden and less a thief. Although Rajani could not regret her decisions, she sometimes missed the simplicity of her former life. This new person, this Warden, was unfamiliar. But the thief? The burglaress? She knew her well. For a few minutes, at least, she could lose herself in the past. Muffled laughter and whispered voices reached her ears. Usually, the gypsy would pay such things little mind - people rarely looked up. However, she recognized those voices. She paused in a crouch at the edge of a roof and peered into the alley below. Sure enough, there were Last and Rosalie. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were a bad influence on the girl, Friedrich Grimm," she observed from her perch.

"I'm more than willing to learn." It's exciting, it's new, and she doubts she could have learned from anyone else. After all, there's no telling when it could end up being useful. She doesn't care how many scrapes or bruises she ends up with learning, just knowing she can will be enough.
Who's to say he won't end up taking her somewhere interesting, anyway? It doesn't make her the slightest bit nervous when they pass into the nicer district, and her excitement only bubbles when they finally make their way into the alley. But of course, with so many good things happening, there's no doubt that something's going to happen to disturb it. That something just happens to be the last voice she wanted to hear.
She's about to watch and learn, about to give it a shot of her own, when she looks up to see Raj, obviously a bit surprised. While she's known for quite a while that the gypsy knows her way around a knife (oh god does she know, how could she forget?) she hasn't suspected in the least that she'd also know things like roofwalking. There's a nervous laugh after a while, and she gives a nervous glance to her companion, though she does her best to relax.
"I didn't know you of all people would know how to do this. How're you doing, Raj?" But no matter how hard she's trying, that nervous edge just doesn't seem to go away. Perhaps she's still worried that there's disapproval from the gypsy about her choice of paramour?

"Oy," grumbles the Grimm so named, and if he seems a bit pale, well, he must've heard an earful from his sibling a few days gone, and the pair of them have carefully avoided her since. "Now y'gonna have me worryin' over my reputation, implyin' there's them as might consider I could be a good 'fluence!" He snorts, giving his head a little toss, and if a step back presses him more tightly against the smith, well, that's just so he can crane his head back and look up at Rajani more easily, isn't it? "Nothin' like yoursel'," he continues, his voice sounding just a touch more ordinary, when he can comfort himself by tucking Rosalie's arm back in his own. "Knives, they's a perfectly good 'fluence, ain't they?"

Ah. That's right. The smith does not know of Rajani's mostly former profession. Nor, it seems, has she deduced it. Makes a gypsy wonder how Rosalie figured she had ended up as head of intelligence in the first place. Surely having such a job suggests a certain amount of...skill in certain areas. Ones that a wandering singer, not even a wandering gypsy singer, would possess. Well. Perhaps Rosalie would learn, yet.
Rajani does not respond to the comment, however, she does feel her the corner of her lips tilt up. Particularly when Last makes his own comments.
If her smirk is a little smug or a little feral, well. Who can blame her? Torchlight catches on the silver metal as it dances across her fingers a moment before disappearing back into whatever nook in her clothing it had come from. "Just a trick of the trade," she says, though she fails to mention which trade. "Besides, a smith should know how to use what she makes."

Who knows how those dots would connect, though certainly they were starting to. But then again, there were times that Rajani seemed to scare the smith, and it seemed every single time they met it happened. First the knives in her support beams, then the knives in her table, and now there were knives again. Maybe it was worse that she had made those knives. No one liked to die by their own work.
She doesn't object to him getting any closer, happily settling in next to him with her arm in his. But by the way she's watching Rajani, it's more like she's watching his back than him watching hers, giving tiny glances to him in reassurance, tugging him the slightest bit tighter against her.
"M' gonna learn..." She replies, frowning a little more, still watching every single move the gypsy is making. "I promised you after all, didn't I? Just finished Soibhan's order, so let me have a day off, and then I'll go find this Macaire or Soibhan for training." She does briefly consider going to the twins instead, though there's no reason she couldn't go in addition to her other training. There's definitely an unspoken please don't kill me Raj in that somewhere, especially knowing now that she's likely armed at all times.

It does seem like he's relying on the smith for some sort of protection: he ain't near loud as he usually is, but it ain't been a great few days in the Grimm family. Jacob's in town, supposedly making threats, certain brothers are embarrassing themselves mightily with unintentional confessions, and there is the ever-looming threat of the wolves, the looming guilt of being caught between family and the obligation that others suggest they ought to feel. But he keeps his eyes on Raj, steady-like, and seems relieved that Oberon isn't poking his big furry snout into the situation, since he figures Obby could only make this conversation worse. He usually does. "Huh," cuts in the Grimm brother, apparently not much liking the fact that Rosalie feels that she has to ask Rajani for permission to have a day off of work, but not quite possessing the courage to remark upon it. "I'm half a mind t'send Georgie off with you, so's he ain't unnerfoot again, him'n that scaredy-cat of a deer of his." While this comment could perhaps be construed as a touch cruel it is -- unfortunately -- quite true. Little Georgie's valiant Guardian is anything but valiant, and is in fact terrified of most everything.

In truth, Rajani had not meant anything by her offhand comment. Oh, she knew Rosalie was going to get her training and she could hardly begrudge the woman one day - not when she was taking a brief respite herself. Besides, as soon as the smith started, her life would never be the same again. Best enjoy it while she had the time.
As for Last, well, the gypsy had a quarrel with two of his brothers, but she had no issue with him at the moment. His relationship with the lady smith was clearly going well enough, and she had made peace with it for the time being. There had been no intended threat to him in her words or actions.
It was baffling to her, then, that both of them seemed so wary of her. Baffling, and a strange mixture of amusing, annoying, and perhaps a little hurtful. What had she done to garner such treatment? All she had wanted to do was enjoy her evening.
Determined not to lose what remained of her relaxed mood, the gypsy chose to ignore their wariness as best as she was able. "Not to mention your personal project," she reminded the smith. Mayhap Last knew about Rosalie's arrangement with Raj and mayhap he did not. Either way, she doubted it would remain a secret forever. If he confronted the smith about the comment later, then that was their problem. The gypsy just wanted to make certain her people were doing their jobs.
"It might do Georgie good," she agreed, for more skill in self-defense was never a bad idea, and everyone with eyes could tell that Georgie's defender was in desperate need of more than a little confidence and training.

There was certainly a more protective attitude the smith was taking towards him, she's standing much taller, and just a little bit in front of him almost. Have things really changed that much since Jacob's come to town, or has his brother really put that much fear of Rajani in to him? Or is it perhaps, something Raj has done herself?
"I've been rereading all my old books on the subject yes." She replies, voice still teetering on the edge of fear, "I've got a list compiled, though I don't want to send it off to you just yet, I'm not quite done with all of them you see." She hasn't personally mentioned her new job to the twins yet, that she's going through and working for Rajani. "Another few days and I'll have Shuu bring it personally to you." If the twins haven't heard by now about their arrangement, they'll certainly find out soon with this meeting behind them. She glances briefly to her paramour, almost concerned about the time this is taking, though returns her gaze up to the rooftops.
"Where's Oberon anyway? He having a good time keeping in tip top shape?" Or so she'd assume. The wolves would be coming soon, there was no doubt about it, and certainly Oberon would want to be ready. "Or is he having a nice, leisurely day as well like our two?" Not that it was an invitation for him to show up.

"That lot don't do leisurely," he murmurs sidelong, though easily loud enough for Rajani to hear. "If it isn't Shuu splashing' hither'n'yon, it's my lad sticking his nose where it don't belong, or Aelius fussing, or Welly stealing somebody's purse." A little snort of laughter escapes him, and he runs one hand through his hair, his gaze for a moment somewhere else. Maybe it isn't her. Maybe it's just everything that's been happening, seemingly all at once, and the way her words make him feel guilty about not teaching his lot anything but thievery. He hasn't even ridden Unwanted, much less thought about training him to face a pack of angry wolves! After a brief pause, however, he brings his gaze back towards the gypsy with a slight frown. "How is it you train 'em, leastways?" Though he asks the question diffidently, as if he has no intention of using the knowledge himself, it is an unusual display of curiosity .. especially coming from Last, who unlike his brother has always worked so hard to avoid the subject. But maybe it's a good sign, a sign that they're finally coming to terms with the changes; maybe it's all the time he spends with Rosalie that's finally done it.

The gypsy hummed at Rosalie's response. Reasonable enough, she supposed. At this point, and especially with this topic, being thorough was more important than being swift. She shrugged at Rosa's question. "He's otherwise occupied," was all she said. Perhaps he was exercising, or perhaps he was paying someone a visit. True, they were rarely apart. However, she had been on a trip she had needed to make alone.
Deciding that, if their conversation was going to continue for any length of time, it was a little ridiculous that it carry on this way, Rajani leapt cat-like to the ground, landing with little more than the soft tap of boot on paving-stone and the quiet rustle of cloth. She straightened and leaned against the brick wall of the building she had previously been standing upon.
Turning her attention to Last, she said, perhaps unhelpfully, "Depends on what you want them to learn." Though they were speaking normally enough, their body language said it all, and Rajani was growing weary of the way they were cowering. "Perhaps you should ask Macaire."

There was at least the slightest bit of relief in knowing the guardian was not around, or at least elsewhere. It showed in her face, the slightest bit more comfortable with the situation, that was, until, things took a sharper turn. She was about to reply with her own hum and comment on how it wasn't often she saw Raj alone, but then again it wasn't often that the smith was without her own guardian, and then...
She stiffened up more, face setting as Raj landed before them, almost as if she was intent on keeping her eyes on her. Without even the slightest bit of hesitation she tugged the Fred just a little bit behind her, stepping forward to put herself more between him and Rajani, though not enough to truly seem rude to the gypsy. What in the world had her so protective? Had she really heard that much secondhand from Last?
She did, however, stay quiet, finding no need to step in on the conversation. If he really did want to find out about the training, all the more power to him, though she fussed the slightest bit, moving her hand down to lace her fingers with his instead of being held close by linking arms. Rajani knew the subject was still likely a sore one after the smith's run in with the eldest of the brothers Grimm. For the moment, at least, this was between him and Raj.
