For the most part, Felallt lived a pretty standard life for a lioness. She had her day to days which mostly consisted of her hunting, eating and going back home to her mothers den. There was, of course, the occasional break from routine sort of day but for the most part Felallt could pretty much predict what the next day would bring.

Many lions and lionesses crossed her path through out Felallt's life time but never had one prompted her to follow. There wasn't any thing too out of the ordinary with this male really. He was pretty standard looking, but there was just something very interesting about him that the lioness could not put her paw on. He seemed like he had a purpose. Not that other lions didn't seem that way, but this one seemed extra meaningful. Extra interesting. Like he had some where to be and possibly something he was up to.

Felallt normally did not take too much interest in strangers or lions that were passing by, but this one. This one was different in a way she'd never put her paw on. So, naturally, she followed from a distance. It wasn't normal for Felallt to 'stalk' another lion. The female was careful to keep her self from being to obvious, which maybe made her all that more obvious.

But the lioness needed to know. Who was this lion and why was he here?

User ImageKumi didn't stalk, he didn't lower himself down to the ground, it wasn't like he was hunting. He was curious, forever curious. Perhaps too curious, it had gotten him in trouble in the past. But then, it had also gotten him out of trouble. He wasn't sure which one outweighed the other, never bothered to count. Wasn't the type, that kind of thing didn't really matter. Pros, cons, everything seemed worth trying at least once.

He needed to find where that snake went. It was potentially venomous and herds tended to be around here from what he'd been seeing and... well, it might not turn out well. Then again, he never knew, snakes weren't exactly something he knew a huge amount about. He was heading towards a rise when he paused.
One paw pressed firmer against the ground for a moment, then he turned and ran, making a bee-line for the lioness that had been following him. Wasn't sure why she had been following him, good question for later, certainly not now.
A glance over his shoulder saw birds taking off. He turned to the lioness, a smile caught somewhere between an adrenaline rush and sheepish plastered on his maw.

"Run!" That one word was rushed, and barely audible over the growing rumble of thunder. Only... it wasn't thunder, but the herd that was just cresting the hill, a herd that had been startled by that snake or some other predator. Probably the latter, but no time to think about that. He gave her a hard nudge, ready to take off as soon as she moved.

Felallti wasn't quite sure what the male was up to. What ever he was observing seemed to be quite interesting, at least to him. She kept a good distance between herself and him. She was curious, but not so bold to interrupt the male in what ever it was he was doing.

The early signs of a stampede had not been observed as easily by Felallti as she was too enamored with her own observations. The lioness hadn't actually caught on until the thunderous sounds followed shortly by the interesting lion dashing her way. Only one word was spoken but it took her brain a moment to register it as 'run'. Which should have been obvious, but fear was a strange thing and had slowed her reaction down quite a bit.

The spark from brain to legs finally took root and the lioness kicked off the ground and started after the male. She knew what was going on but she didn't have the words or brain power to process with the initial shock of everything going on.

"RUN!?"

Was called after the darker stranger. She hadn't meant it to come out more question like but it did. Funny thing shock.

Of course she would question his motives. It was obvious, wasn't it? Run or be trampled.
Distraction, he needed to focus. The herd was behind them and he was starting to lag. True, running was a typical day for him, honestly he was a terrible lion. Part cheetah was more like it.

Ah! There it was. Kumi put on a burst so that he could cut in front of the lioness without knocking her down, heading towards a hill with some large boulders around it. If the herd kept going this way, they wouldn't go near it at all. And even if they did, they wouldn't go over it. But they would.
Couple of jumps and he was on top of a tall rock, moving out of the way for his companion.
"Yes... Run..." he said, trying to catch his breath.

Felallti continued running while thinking the whole time just how did her day get to THIS point? Her current pace was quick and well manuvered but it was only a matter of time that the lioness would start to slow down. She was not out of shape but running away from a stampede was not something she experienced day to day. Heck, even year to year. Or really EVER.

And the stranger of a lion was jumping high up leaving the lioness to figure out just what had happened all the while she ran. It was too late for her to jump up where the male had gotten too so her only option was to continue running.

"I'M RuNNING!" She managed some how, but she could feel the toll of a fast dash catching up to her. How long could she run?

Kumi's eyes shot as wide as a meerkat's head when she wasn't able to follow him. Well... His ears flicked back and he jumped off. He was on the outside of the herd now and in a perfect position. One well-placed snap of his jaws and a startled wildebeest reared and pushed into the others at its opposite side. This started a chain reaction that sent the herd veering off, away from away from the lioness' path.

The threat passed, at least for the most part, he caught up.
"Can slow... Down, now...!" he huffed, ready for a break for his poor paws. At least this whole thing hadn't been his fault. Wrong place, wrong time for the both of them. No scrapes or bruises. Seemed a good day.

Felallti came to skid of a stop. She was panting but there was a lot she wanted to say. Just, right now, she needed air more. She took a seat which eventually ended with her laying down panting on her side. Sure, she was in shape but that amount of running at that speed certainly took its toll.

Soon there after she was able to sit up and face the strange male lion. Now that the stampede was over and she could catch her breath her eyes sparked with curiosity.

"Thanks." There was a smile, "But what was it you were doing out there?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 03, 2014 6:20 pm

"Right, slow breaths," Kumi encouraged, sitting by her side and taking his own advice. Keeping an eye out for any returning trouble, the other stayed focused on the lioness, making sure she didn't pass out or anything like that.

Now she was lying down and the war that had become his focus finally relented, his gaze turning completely on her. Good, she seemed to be getting better, not worse and-
One eyebrow cocked upwards at her question.
"You're a nosy one," he said with a slight wrinkle to his muzzle. "Tracking a snake, trying to keep what happened from happening. Are all lionesses in this area as nosy as you?"

The lionesses brow lowered in to a look of annoyance at this males comment.

"What is that supposed to mean? Nosy? You're the one looking all suspicious like you were up to something!" He'd struck a nerve even if it was a little bit true. Felallt had been nosy and had followed him after all. But the female didn't like hearing it out loud.

But.. this stranger had saved her so he couldn't be all bad even if he was a tad bit mouthy. Granted. He had the right to be snappy at such a question as what she'd asked.

Felallt was standing by this point now on all fours.

" Do you go around stopping stampedes all the time or something. Those were some legs you got on you." Hers were going to be sore tomorrow after that ordeal.
PostPosted: Fri Jan 03, 2014 6:42 pm

"Well, yes, but I'm usually up to something. Are you usually following suspicious males around?" That was a fine how do you do. She'd been the one to follow him and it hadn't been his fault that she had been in danger, she shouldn't have been sticking her nose in where she didn't need to be sticking it. And still he'd stuck his neck out for her. Ah, forever doing good deeds with no thanks. His lot in life.

She stood and he remained sitting, enjoying the position. No more stampede, no more hurry. He would have to be on his way soon, a long trek ahead... Yes, resting his paws for a bit was a sound plan.
"Usually. Wait..." Kumi's head tilted, a frown on his face as he looked off, considering her question.
"No, actually. Not recently." His head nodded as he ticked moon phases off in his head, tracking the passing of time. "No, not too many stampedes."

The tangent past, his quick mind backtracked to the other side of her questioning. Ah, his legs, running.
"Good exercise, that. Gets the blood pumping, good for the heart. And easier to get out of a pinch if you're used to it. What did you say your name was? Oh, nevermind." There he was, turning away again, this time his head swiveling in an effort to remember which direction he had decided on heading after his little observation of the serpent.
"Which way is... Ah, that was it!" Kumi finally stood, and gave her a short nod. "Nice running into you." And then he was just walking away.

The corners of Felallt's mouths twitched in a frown like motion.

"No. Not really." Her response was kept short. She wasn't looking to bicker with this strange male. No. She was looking to figure him out. From the moment she laid eyes on him that was what she wanted to do for what ever reason.

"Exercise?" That was exercise for him? "More like a disaster adverted. You almost get trampled and its just exercise? I've never been in a stampede in my life and its just exercise? Thats just!" Crazy. INSANE. Interesting. This male was interesting and EXCITING. She would have offered the male a mild smile if she hadn't just been dismissed so readily. There was no way she was going to be brushed off just like that!

"Felallt. The names Felallt. " She gave him her name just to spite him, "Oh no! You're not getting rid of me THAT easily!" She started to pace after him. He'd given her the brush off. Felallt ha decided she did not want to be brushed off that easily.

"What's your name any way suspicious stranger?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 03, 2014 7:08 pm

Well, he'd meant just running in general, but the stampede had certainly given him a reason to do it.
Felallt, that was an interesting name, he wondered what it meant. Ah, no time for that though. He needed to get moving... Oh, was she following him?

"I'm the Doctor. Good to meet you, brilliant run, must be going now." Not that he minded if she followed him. He'd never had anyone follow him before, not since... A lifetime ago. But it wasn't like he was just going to stick around because she wanted to talk. Places to go, things to see.

Yet again Felallt's brows fell in to a look of annoyance and determination. Oh no, he wasn't shaking her. She was worth while company after all. Her tail flicked and she quickened her pace to be close to his, staying a bit back, she'd follow him.
