Toki was playing in the ocean near his clan's home with the small dragons that had hatched recently. They could barely understand each other since the language the small ones spoke wasn't quite dragon, but they managed.
Pesha, the smaller male with his soft musical voice, was chortling at his sister while lying along Toki's neck. Kashi, as Toki called the larger female, was trying to capture a crab without much success. It's large pincers kept her at bay, and she was quickly losing patience. Toki couldn't see it, but he heard the scrabbling sounds and smelled crab and decided he might as well show her how to kill the tasty morsel. Standing up, his entire underside and legs covered in damp sand, he walked over towards the sounds.
He reached down and pined the crab with one clawed paw and with a quick flick of his free claw, killed it. Then he peeled off the shell and offered the meat to a curious Pesha and Kashi.
"Silly thing," he rumbled gently, "You need to move fast to keep from getting pinched."

Toki's ear flicked as he heard someone approach, but since he sensed no malice, he didn't pay too much attention to it. Instead he caught and cracked open another crab for himself.
As the stranger approached, Pesha hissed and hid behind Toki's leg while Kashi ignored it and tried to crack open crabs.

"I found them," Toki answered the abrupt question. Hmm, this child is rather rude, he thought. But his youth may have something to do with that, curious children always ask questions and forget their manners. Dovaa, young, and male by his scent. "Pesha's egg," he nudged the blue one gently with his nose, "I found in an oasis. A clan member brought me Kashi's egg so I do not know where she came from. Why do you ask, child?"

To catch? And keep as a pet? Toki thought for a moment. These little guys were more companions than pets to him. And though they weren't as intelligent as his species, they did have an active mind that would learn.
"If you think they will be a bother, then they will." Toki said as he shook his head. "Don't go trying to raise something if, even before you find one, you think it might be a nuisance. They are thinking, living beings like me and you. They can sense when they aren't fully welcome and if you have that attitude with them, they won't follow you. As for size, they may get somewhat bigger than this, but not much." Toki decided that this child needed to be talked to. What kind of person went looking for something if they thought it was a bother? Unless he was one of those people who affected a bored attitude when they were actually interested. Maybe he's just not honest about what he wants? Toki shrugged inwardly, he didn't know this one well so he couldn't tell just yet.
"I am called Toki, what's your name Dovaa?"
