The ela were a pride of much tradition a lot like the Swampies. There were, of course, differences but over all Wana felt very much at home. He had found out thru living among the lions of this tribe that even his old pride had sought refuge here among the peaceful lions of the Ela and not too long before Wana had come to make Ela his home. With or with out his pride here now did not matter because Wana had been attracted to this pride mainly for one lioness in which he found him self wanting to impress and take as his own. So Wana did what he could to learn the ways of the pride while also spending as much time with Gowe as he could with out coming across as a puppy dog dreamy lovey dovey type. Earlier that day Wana had gone out with a hunting pride and his efforts had been quite fruitful. So, Wana had a hind leg of a prey beast secured in his maw. It was his share of the bounty and a gift for a certain lioness he had his eye on ever since his teen years. His stride was proud if not a bit full of him self. Wana's vision was obstructed by the size of the leg and how high he held his nose, so seeing what was in front of him wasn't something he was doing.

Traditions were a staple in every lion's life. That's what Gowe believed. Every tradition brought them closer to their ancestors and brought smiles to the gods that were honored with such things. While she loved the traditions, lately she'd been a home body. Of course she felt bad about it, not participating in the festivals or anything lately, but she just felt so lazy. The sun was warming up the chill in the air, and it was just the perfect pride to utterly relax in, even when the Swampies came and stayed with them. Bright blue eyes closed as she stretched herself out completely, from ears to tail. Gowe let her mind wander back to Wana, that male she met when she was younger, that brought a bright grin to her face with his goofy charm. Some time had passed since they had gotten together last, but that didn't mean she forgot about him, quite the opposite. When she wasn't hunting, sleeping, or visiting family she found her thoughts occupied with him. Odd, really, considering she'd only talked to him a pawful of times, but she felt like she knew a lot about him and she did want to know more. Gowe wanted to monopolize his time one day and get his whole complete history. Getting up and wandering away from her den, Gowe made her way towards the borders. There was a hunting party starting soon, and she wanted to get there on time to figure out what she was doing, exactly. Just as she rounded a rock, her nose and face met a leg of something being carried by someone. She squawked and landed on her backside before opening her eyes and squeaking. "I'm sorry!"

Thwack!
Something hit the leg right out of his mouth. The leg went up in the air and landed on top of Wana's head. The lion gave a bit of a roar in surprise.
"OW!"
The fact that Gowe was the one who had walked in to his leg of meat had yet been noticed by the male. He was busy catching his balance after quite the cartoonish scenario. His focus came back shortly there after and the lions eyes saw first hand just what the what was that he'd run in to.
"GOWE ARE YOU OKAY!?"

She let out a whine when it hit his head and moved to get up a bit, whining yet again as she tried to get the leg of meat off of him and just waved a paw at him to show she was fine. Her eyes were full of concern and embarrassment. How could you do this, Gowe?! she scolded herself, huffing a bit mentally. "No, are you okay, Wana? How's your head? Does it hurt? Is there a bump?"
She shuffled closer and moved to check his head where the leg had been before she moved it. "I don't feel a bump. Are you dizzy? Are you okay?"
Maybe she worried a little too much.

If one could see the skin under Wana's fur one would see that he was blushing pretty hard now. The great lion was fine but he wasn't sure he wanted to admit that now that Gowe had her full attentions on him. He liked having her attention and being babied by her.
"I'm .." He paused for a moment actually considering playing the part of the injured only to dismiss that as distasteful and pig like. "I'm fine."
He paused.
" But you can baby me if you like. I don't mind," There was a bashful grin. Had he really just said that?

If her skin was showing, her whole face would be completely red, down to her shoulders and to the tips of her ears. Biting down on the inside of the cheek, Gowe laughed and just ducked her head a little before looking up at him. "Ah.. Uh. I wasn't... I mean.. It was a big piece of leg and it hit your head and.." The female found herself whining under her breath because she was very embarrassed.
Babying was just part of her. She did it with her siblings, with anyone else she met. It was second nature to her! "...I might not be able to help that, honestly?" She gave a little awkward smile to him and sighed. "...That really is a huge leg though."

She was embarrassed! HOW CUTE! Wana couldn't stand how cute Gowe was when she was embarrassed. He found him self nuzzling his forehead to hers with out even thinking about what he was doing.
"You're fine. I was only kidding," He wasn't. Being babied was awesome.
And the conversation went full circle back to the leg that had flung in to the air. OH RIGHT! Wana let out a laugh.
"ACTUALLY! That piece of meat was for you my dear. I was headed to your place to deliver the bounty I got." He couldn't stop smiling.

Subject changes were good. So very good, in fact, but also very bad because the nuzzling had stopped. She had, in fact, returned it when she could without much thinking on her own part. She was more of a feeler than a thinker.
"Wait.. For me?" Gowe's eyes widened and she laughed a little, ears perking right up. "Wow, are you sure? That.. I mean, that's a really big leg. OH! Why don't we eat it together? You've got to be hungry after hunting it, right? I mean, it's only nice to share." Gowe nodded as-matter-of-factly as she could and then hummed. "Sharing is caring, that's what momma taught me."

"...Actually .. Gowe.. I am still getting ... accustomed to traditions here and what not but..."
He looked down quite bashful.
"I would love to share the leg with you but not only just the leg. I want to share a life with you. I want to be by your side and start a family. There isn't any other lioness out there that I've met that I feel so.." Okay this was embarrassing and kind of sappy.
"Gowe will you consider me as your mate? I know I'm not Ela born but I promise to provide for you and any cubs."

"I can help you with that you kn-" Her words were cut off by his question and stared at him, swallowing and then stood stock still. Was he serious? He wasn't.. He wasn't kidding with her right now, was he? Gowe couldn't handle that, not really, because she was hoping this would happen. If he was joking with her, he was going to be so hurt.
"...I...If you're not kidding.. I uh.." She looked down at her paws and just laughed to herself. "I want that, yeah. I ..want you as my mate." Gowe glanced up at him shyly and wiggled her toes together, playing with them. "I want a family with you.. One day."

Gowe wanted that as well? Wana was shocked. All anxiety from asking the question was gone now and he could breath.
"Of course I'm not kidding!" Wana wrapped a big lion arm around the female. "Even I know when jokes are okay! I'm so happy!!!" He nuzzled her close.

She laughed a little and sank against him, nosing into his neck before letting out a happy little purr. The one thing she wasn't sure she was going to get in life, she finally got. Wana was perfect for her, goofy and loving and affectionate and didn't mind when she babied him.
"Good! Because... Yeah. That's good, I'm happy too!" She grinned and looked up at him again before nipping his nose.

"Because yeah as well," Wana nodded.
She nipped at his nose and he pawed at her hair. Wana had been on a quest to find him self and his name. Finding him self inside another lion had not been what the great lion had expected at all. He'd never thought much about mates as a child. His name and place in his pride had been his number one concern.
But now he knew where he belonged and who he belonged with. All by chance.
Possible that the gods had a doing in weaving their fate but it was also possible that chance had a great role to play in all of this. Regardless. Wana was happy.
