The moonlight from the slowly rising moon glinted off the moon on her flank as she stretched her back leg out. It was a good time to be awake. She lifted her face to the moon with her eyes closed. Her nostrils flared with scents of the night. It would be a beautiful night. The grass felt soft and lush beneath her hooves.
Chantrea bent to nibble on a patch of clover she'd noticed before she went to sleep. It was salty and delicious. After she filled her belly and gotten a drink she was ready. The moon lit mare lifted her head back to the moon. "Where shall I go tonight hm?"

A ripple of movement could be seen among the silver striped forest as a dark mare is up and about, moving toward her favorite grazing spot where the grass is thick and lush with salty flavor. The white markings on her legs, back of neck and front of her face acts like a mirror trick, allowing her to 'blur' into the moonlit environment when she moves with predatory silence. Abellona pauses as she sees that the mare she have been seeing few times is back in her favorite pasture, she frowns a bit because her stomach is rumbling and growling because she haven't ate all day and nighttime is her main feeding hours.
In the past, she would just quietly move on to her secondary favorite pasture but she is impatient right now and she frowns a bit, not sure how to go around this because she never was taught about social mannerisms when she was a little one. Her body seems to have a different opinion than her mind because her legs began to move, leading her into the pasture and she grimaces a bit, hoping that the female wouldn't see her. Lowering her head, Abellona brushes her muzzle across the top of the grass while keeping her eyes fixed on the female warily because she just want to fill her belly and be on her way without any awkward encounters. Abellona have a feeling that tonight will be different than others and she is not sure if she want it to happen or not...

Her ears twitched. Something made her look around. At first she looked right over the midnight black mare. She blended in quite well. Chantrea suspected it had something to do with her white stripes. She watched as the other bent her head to the grass. The moon-marked mare was a bit puzzled. Others were often asleep by now. Yet this one certainly wasn't.
"Out for a midnight snack?" She asked with a flick of her ear.

Abellona's eyes darkens momentarily when the female noticed her and called out the question to her, she ripped a good chunk of grass out of the ground and proceeds in chewing it up which prevents her from speaking. She lifts her head up to the female while chewing the grass, thinking about what kind of responses she should give the female or should she just simply ignore her. Swallowing down the first bite of her dinner, she nods a bit at the female and stands there rigidly while she says in soft velvety voice, "I am not a day pony. I am a creature of night. I am assuming you are too."
She takes few steps closer to the female so she could have a better look at another pony in her pasture. Abellona refuses to react when she realizes that this mare is more ethereal than she ever imagine, her cold eyes moves across the mare's body, taking in every details. "Interesting..Very intriguing" She thought to herself.

She didn't rush things at night. Chantrea simply waited as the mare got her first mouthful and ate it. If she'd come here hungry that's probably what she would have done too. Her patience was rewarded by a nod. The night blue mare smiled to herself. "It does seem that we are both night mares."
She didn't skitter as the mare came further into the field. Chantrea tossed her head to get her sea-green hair away from her eyes, returning the favor of examination that this mare was giving her. "You're well suited for this," she nodded at the dark mare. "I'm Chantrea."

Not sure what to do now, Abellona lowered her head to the grass once again grabbing another mouthful of the grass while keeping her eyes on the mare out of the habit. "Yes, Mares of night." The female says after she swallows that second mouthful and looks up at the moon, closing her eyes briefly letting the moon's energy absorb into her body. "Night time is more peaceful and more mystical, don't you agree?" Her eyes seems to glow (effect of her face markings and the moonlight) when she looks at another female. "You look like you belong up there instead of here." She felt that the statement was needed.. it's almost like an attempt at being pleasant.
"Chantrea.." Abellona repeats the name to herself as she looks at the female that calls herself that. "Fitting name for a mare that is a representation of the moon and night skies." She looks at Chantrea and she tries to smile but it looks like a grimace instead so she just stopped trying to smile. "I am Abellona. But you can call me Bella." She blinks as she knows that there were a sentence that she was supposed to say after they introduce themselves but it seems to escape her. The dark mare tilts her head to slide with a slight puzzled look on her face.

Chantrea followed suit and took a mouthful of grass. The mare wondered why she choose that distinction. This one looked more like a nightmare than a mare of the night, almost. At least one might assume that on a dark night with the black and white mare. The effect of the moonlight on her white stripes gave her a bit of an eerieness. Chantrea could just imagine if it had been a foggy night. It was enough to scare little foals.
She gave a nod at the question. "Yes it is. Sometimes I almost wish the sun never had to come up." The mare shared a smile. They knew it had to. Chantrea gave a soft laugh. "I thank you for the compliment." She hadn't really considered it before, but the notion intrigued her. The moon was special, and she didn't have the arrogance to think she was just as special. The moon marked mare was content to just be under its glow.
"Thank you. It's nice to meet you Bella." She gave another nod. A silence fell between them that Chantrea thought the dark mare didn't know how to break. Softly she said, "what are your plans for tonight?"

The second Chantrea said "It's nice to meet you", the light bulb turned on inside her head and she realized that it was a sentence she was supposed to say after they introduced themselves. "Its my pleasure meeting you, Chantrea." She says with somewhat curious yet cold expression on her face, not sure what else she is supposed to say or do in this kind of matter. "The sun and moon have their own eternal dance. Balance and all of that fun stuff." She shrugs a bit and looks at the moon then back at the female's moon marking, admiring the similarities between the real moon and the moon marking.
"It makes me wonder if your mother is the moon that is shining on us and the sun is your father, sleeping and letting your mother have her time in the skies." Abellona says curiously because she noted that Chantrea's horn is golden so she is just simply coming up with a story for that female like she did with others. Her pale eyes blinks as the question wafted toward her from Chantrea and she cocks her head to side a bit with a little thoughtful frown. "I don't know. Maybe I will go to the ocean and watch the dolphins jump around. They seem to like to do that under the moonlight. Have you seen them shine in the moonlight?" She inquires curiously. "Its a very magical sight to see."

Chantrea dripped her head. "Thank you." She gave a soft chuckle. "That they do. And where would we be without it, right?" Really she supposed that the day-ponies needed their time too. Ah well, it was still fun in her daydreams.
Her ears perked up at the theory Bella proffered. Now wasn't that a novel idea? Chantrea debated telling her the truth or not. Finally she made up her mind to go along with the story, even though she knew her parents were normal ponies. Weren't they? "Then they must of have come to the earth to have me." It didn't make much sense really, but she didn't say anything.
"Dolphins? Hmmm I don't believe I have. It sounds like they are worth watching though. Would you mind if I went with you to watch? If you don't want company Bella it's alright."

Abellona nods a bit in almost awkward manner as she shifts her weight around little bit, not sure what to reply to the pleasantry. "Aye. The plants needs sun and we need plants and foliage for our survival." She offers the female a little smile while she slowly starts to walk in the direction of the ocean. "A neutral ground for them to come and have you without having to chase each other just for that one night." She simply says as she turns her head toward Chantrea. "It could happen." It is quite obvious that this dark mare lives in the world that exists only in her head.
"Oh. I thought I was offering for you to come and watch the dolphins with me. I don't mind if you do want to come along." The mare blinks in confusion, not sure what she did wrong that it makes other mare question if she wanted the company or not. "They usually come out to play at this time of night where the moon is full so we better hurry so we can catch them playing." She tosses her head and lifts her hoof up in air little bit. "Ready to see some magic?" There is a hint of childlike joy and eagerness in her voice.

They were ponies of the night. It was pointless to talk about that day stuff. Chantrea cleared her throat. "So what are your favorite stars?" She giggled at the story the mare told of her sun and moon as her parents. It was quite enchanting. "I like that. It sounds so romantic."
She bobbed her head. "Oh! I missed that somewhere, pardon. I'd love to come and watch." The night mare pranced after the black mare. Her ears perked and she glanced up to see the full moon. Why did they like the full moon too? Chantrea nodded eagerly. She wasn't sure what magic was, but the tone in Bella's voice conveyed that it would be fun.

"My favorite star...?" Abellona falters in her walking toward the beach and shoots Chantrea a mild confused look and looks up at the skies momentarily, thinking on which star is her favorite. "It is quite hard and complicated to have a favorite star when they all are equally beautiful." She turns her head toward the mare, staring directly at her for few seconds before she resumes her trek toward the beach. She already could hear the dolphins chattering and whistling, calling to each other and to other pods so they could do their moonlight ritual.
"I am not sure if you believe in magic.." She slows down her pace so she could walk side to side with Chantrea. "But moon have its own unique magic that creatures like me and dolphins are taking advantage due to various reasons. Its the same way with the sun. I have heard a rumor that dusk and dawn are the most powerful time frames but I haven't quite verified that yet." She quietly says as she takes in the salty air with a light sigh. "There are a lot of things you probably don't know about this kind of thing." She glances at the mare. "But I could stand corrected." She offers the mare a slight smile, feeling awkward smiling often and having a regular interaction with someone that is not..a horse.
