People who play with the lives of others are Gods? Would the Gods really try and use us as Pawns? If so are the Demons the same as us?

                                              "With the increase in demonic activity, I fear things will only become more dangerous for those within True Cross. We, the Yggdmillenia shall offer whatever assistance we can, and shall drive back that which would threaten the balance of the world and its affairs."

                                              "Alright father. I shall return at once, and upon my return, we can further discuss the events of what is going on." Removing the phone from his face, he pushed his finger against his phone's screen before sliding it down into his pant's pocket. Lloyd had been called back to his family's castle via familiar, and having nothing that he needed to bring with him, the trip went on with not much of a problem. Naturally, Celebron had come with him and sat on his lap as the black limo moved through the city. While initially hating the place as a whole, Celebron had come to love the Yggdmillenia Family's Castle, more specifically because he was one of the few demons actually allowed to step foot within its territory without being seen as threat by the entirety of the family of swordsmen. "Doesn't this upset you? I mean, here you are with friends having fun, and then your father calls, and you have to leave the fun to return to boring work. Aren't you mad?" Putting a hand to his familiar's head, he merely began to pet the all demon before turning to look out of the window. "Such a luxury is not something that I, of Yggdmillenia Blood, can afford to keep at all times. Indeed, there are times in which I wonder what a normal life would be, but then I remember the duties passed down to me through my family...Someday I wish to be considered a normal boy, but, I am a sword. Until the day when the calamity of the Demons is brought to an end, my fate is to stand on the battlefield as a Sentinel." To that, he could feel Lloyd shift on his lap before jumping into the seat besides his body. It seemed as though his familiar was not happy with his response, and now, as he looked down at his familiar, he prepared possible responses to whatever was going to be yelled at to him. "Then make them acknowledge you as someone different! Make the world see you as that! You bear the title of Sword Saint, surely it can be done!? You can be a normal boy!" Immediately after his words, a soft smile made its way onto Lloyd's features as he returned to looking out the window. The city buildings continued to blur past as the limo picked up speed upon reaching the highway. When the silence became unbearable, he could feel the Cat Sidhe's paws pushing against his arms for a response.

                                              "I am the son of the Yggdmillennia Family. One of the Six Great Exorcist Families known for their different tactics in the annihilation of demons. Regardless of where I go, I will always be a child of Yggdmillennia. A mere blade that purges that which should not belong in this world. If I am to be acknowledged, I wish to be acknowledged not as a child of Yggdmillennia, but as Lloyd. It's a selfish dream yes, but I, wish to hold onto this dream." With those words, the limo ride to the airport was kept in silence as neither male wished to speak. Celebron was too depressed at this point to say anything else, and Lloyd was once again imagining what it would be like if he had been born a normal child in a normal family. Free of worries. Free to love, free to hate, free to laugh, and free to cry. But, that was not his life, and like it or not, he was going to have to accept things the way they were without trying to change them. When they had reached the airport, it was not the driver that had opened the door, but a member of his family who had come to meet him. Stepping out from the limo, Celebron took to Lloyd's shoulder before allowing his eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness of the light. "I am glad to see you have arrived unharmed, my Lord. Your father and other members of the family await your return. Sir Gavin also wishes to speak with you when we arrive at the Castle; something about having a story to tell you." Boarding the private plane, he awaited take off before closing his eyes. If he was finally going back home, then rest would be need in order to actually face the entirety of his family.

                                              ~~~
                                              Having finally arrived at his family's castle, Celebron took to Lloyd's shoulder before allowing his eyes to adjust to the sudden brightness of the light. "I am glad to see you have arrived unharmed, my Lord. Your father and other members of the family await your return. Sir Gavin also wishes to speak with you after you finish settling in; something about having a story to tell you." With a nod of his head, he opened the doors to his home only to be greeted by various kids in the family who had been awaiting his arrival. They bombarded him with questions on what True Cross, as well as how it seemed compared to whatever pictures they were being shown. Unfortunately, he could not answer all of their questions, and he truthfully did not have the time to answer all of them either. Knowing that his next move would not make Celebron happy, he picked the Cat Sidhe up before tossing him into the arms of one of the little boys. "Slay the demon."
                                              "Traitor!" Watching Celebron run away from the smiling boys, he looked on as they all raced around the corner after his familiar. He would make it up to his partner later, that was for sure, but now, he needed to get started. After leaving his things within his room, he took Durandal with him before making his way to the Great Library where his Great Grandfather generally resided. Having entered the library, he could hear the slow turning of book pages and having followed their sounds, he came upon the elderly male sitting within one of the various grandfather chairs spread about the library itself. "Ah..my successor has finally arrived. How did you know I was here? What if I had chosen to hide myself away in some different location this time around?" questioned the old man as he pointed at the seat besides him. "No matter, tell me, what has happened so far in your young life so far Lloyd? Have you made new friends yet? Two man teams or higher are what keep exorcists alive, and having friends within those teams increases the likely hood of returning home alive, just as your grandfather. That old stick in the mud did not believe his father when he told him to always try and make friends before trying to bully someone into a false friendship. His father should have been stricter with him." He could see the male shaking his head as he tried figuring out who his grandfather's parents were, but each time he tried, he seemed to come to a quick realization before stopping his thoughts completely. "With all due respect, you are his father.."
                                              For a moment, a heavy silence fell over the library and as he prepared to speak, he could see the aged Sword Saint putting a hand to his head while shaking it disappointedly. "I should have beaten him just a bit more than I used too.Back then, there wasn't enough beatings. I'll have to tell somebody to hit their child again. In a nice way of course, but just enough so that they learn their place! Once again Lloyd, I do apologize for the torture you went through due to the actions of my child." With those words, the elderly male bowed his head in reverence before smiling awkwardly. Nodding his head, he immediately wanted to change the conversation. Speaking of his past was not something he liked to do, even with one of the few people in his family that he actually liked discussing things with. "Great Grandfather, you said you wanted to speak with me about something else?" questioned Lloyd as he pulled a chair up besides the elderly male before sitting in it. "Ah, yes. I knew I was forgetting something. Tell me about your classmates. Who are you learning with, and I heard they put you into teams? Tell me about your teammates." Running a hand through his hair, he took a deep breath before beginning.
                                              "Where to start..? Well, there is Ignazio Barthomeloi, Audrianna Black, and a male named Keegan Xanderson. At least, that was the squad I was on before I left to come here. Things may change." Pasuing for a moment, he could already see his great grandfather holding back his words. After laughing, he tilted his head slightly, awaiting the words that would follow. "The Barthomeloi brat! I like him, he's got spunk. I remember his great grandfather too. He's another one of the sticks in the mud. He was no fun at all and all work and no play makes for a dull friendship. Thankfully, they've gotten better as the generations continued. Tell me about the other two. " Yet another silence fell over the two as he carefully tried to word how he wanted to convey his next words. When the thoughts became irrational, he decided just to say what he felt from the very beginning. "If I'm to tell the truth, I believe Audrianna Black is half demon, and half human. I can not say for sure, but I am pretty sure that she is. However, despite what she is or is not, I value her and her friendship. But, I can not say for sure if she actually sees me as a friend. I think she sees me as a teammate, an asset, and possibly a friend. The other male I don't know of. When I return, I can tell you more about him. That is to say, if I actually get to see him..." Just as he finished, the doors to the library opened once more, and in came various children. In one of their arms was Celebron, and after taking his familiar from the kids, he smiled in thanks before he watched them walk off. "I hate you...so much..Those kids are getting dangerous...Don't leave me again!" Lloyd's face had tightened and within moments he was laughing hysterically. In response, the aged Sword Saint also began laughing before he put a hand to Lloyd's shoulder. "No matter what, never lose this smile. Its going to get you and a lot of others through very tough situations. Before you leave, there is another boy on his way to becoming a Sword Saint. Don't tell anyone else I said this, but see if you can help him out. By time his test comes, you'll be in the school, and I'll have to administer it myself."
                                              "I will." After hugging his great grandfather, he put Celebron up on his shoulder before leaving the library with a wave. Durandal was gripped tightly in his hands as he proceeded through the castle hallways in order to find the new candidate for Sword Saint within the large training facility. The boy struck each of the target dummies with great speed, speed in which many in their family would never have been able to attain. For a while, he watched as the boy continued his own personal regime, hitting each dummy in rapid succession.
                                              ~~~~

                                              Sitting down along one of the walls, he continued to watch the male from a corner of the room. His form was near-perfect, but something was off, and he could not quite put his finger on it. Not to mention, his swings looked and seemed to be forced rather than natural. Others that entered the training hall went up to face him, and within moments they were filing back out of the area in defeat. Even in victory the male's swings were forced and he could not help but feel sorry for the blade he wielded. When everyone had left, the kid stabbed the blade into the ground before sitting directly behind it, almost as if he was examining the blade itself. "Wow, what a bore. You would think he could at least take pride in his winning, but no, he's too above that. The other kids don't seem to like him much either. I learned that when you sent me off as a ritual sacrifice.." He could hear the malice in Celebron's words, and knowing that he would not let it go any time soon, he merely pet his familiar's head before standing up. As the elder Sword Saint, he would give the boy the advice he thought he needed, and in the same way he received advice from his great grandfather. Standing tall, he picked Durandal off the ground and began to step heavily towards the male in order to get the kid's attention.

                                              By time Lloyd had gotten into arm reach, the boy's blade had left its place in the ground, and was pointed directly at Lloyd's throat. Seeing that he did not flinch, the boy took a step back in order to speak naturally, but upon seeing that it was Lloyd who he had pointed his blade at, he immediately fell to a knee in respect. "My apologies. I did not expect you down here. The last few encounters of mine have been with others of the family, in my age group, who seem to despise my very existence." Shaking his head, he pushed the male's blade down before putting his hands to his waist. "Have you ever thought that the battle itself isn't everything? Or that perhaps, there is something more to it?" questioned Lloyd as he looked into the male's eyes. They were empty and seemed devoid of most emotion. "Were are swords. We exist only to strike down anything before us. Nothing more." A loud sigh was released before Lloyd sat down on the ground, indicating for the male to do the same.

                                              "The power and strength you have gained was not some strange gift from the heavens. It is proof of the effort past Yggdmillennia's have put into their ideals. Its something that you, a Yggdmillennia, have earned the right to use. We do not exist simply to cut down what we see before us, but to use our skills for the beneficial advancement of others." His words seemed to have no affect on the young boy, for while he spoke, he could tell that despite what he was saying the male did not have any intent of changing. So he would instead begin reciting what he should have been taught from the moment he picked up his blade. "The first blade, fast as lightning, on the wings of the swift wind. ""The second blade when drawn, covers the land like a forest. What are you getting at?" Was this what it was like to talk to him? Hopefully not, because as it stood, he just wanted to beat the truth into the male, but for his great grandfather he would try another way. "I'll be direct with you. The reason you can not win against my great grandfather the way you are now, is because of how you treat your blade. The blade itself is not just some weapon. It is an extension of yourself, and should be treated as such. Should something happen to your blade, you must think of it as the same as something happening to your dominant arm. When the sword goes, so does the arm. My Durandal has become a part of my daily life, and is something extremely close to me." Standing up, he unsheathed his blade before taking a step away from the male. As he turn to face him once again, Lloyd pointed the blade towards him before continuing. "Durandal. A blade that seems to cut about the wind. Its beauty is that of a thousand flowers. Like my blade, yours has a name, and when you wield it in battle, everything changes. Hundreds, thousands, millions of lives are in your hands when you make a move. Are you prepared to fall in the crusade? To burn all your enemies to ashes? Can you set the night sky ablaze, are you the blade that purges with fire? If you don't act, can you count on someone else to do it in your stead when things take a turn for the worst?"

                                              By this point in time, the male had begun to see things differently, and as he stared blankly at Durandal, he could not help but sheathe his blade. "If you are truly going to get better, then you need to realize that the battle is not for you. Accepting help from others won't be so bad either." Leaving the training facility, he put Celebron on the ground in order to walk freely about. He could hear the Cat Sidhe snickering at what happened within the training facility, and immediately he felt bad for it. Hopefully, the kid would get better from his words, but there was no point in trying to take back what was said. It was over, and was now up to him on whether or not he adjusted his behavior and fighting methods. Feeling pretty much exhausted, he went back into his room in order to take a nap.

                                              ~~~~~
                                              Sitting besides his great great grandfather in the center of the training hall, he watched quietly as the other members of their family filed into the large area, their swords in their hand. "What is this?" questioned Celebron as he sat atop Lloyd's lap. The Cat Sidhe made no movements since he had never seen the entire family gathered together in a single room, and was surprised to see that they could all fit within the area. "A yearly meeting is about to take place. The family discusses what they have and have not done as a group and not just as individual members. Also, what we've accomplished in our effort to drive the rampaging demons back into Gehenna, or in the worst case, how many we've defeated. For what I know, my own, and some of the other Great Exorcist Families sometimes come together to meet in order to discuss similar things." Soon after, the meeting had begun, and while members conversed with one another, he proceeded to fumble with a small piece of paper in his hands. He had nothing really to contribute since most of his time was spent in True Cross and he was only up against demons if they invaded the school or were set up by the school to train them. Otherwise, he had yet to make any type of impact on the demons roaming free throughout the world. Instead, he excused himself and was son packing some things for his return trip to True Cross. Some children in the room had found in his room, and had volunteered to help the young Sword Saint pack what he would need for his return trip.
                                              ~~~~

                                              "Be well, great grandson. Remember that everything becomes easier when there are others working alongside you. Keep me updated on things as they happen in True Cross Academy, and I will do the same for here." With those parting words from his predecessor, Lloyd was off, Celebron in hand. It was finally time for him to return to his school, and whether he admitted it or not, he missed the excitement that seemed to come with being a part of True Cross.
