Communicator? Check. Uniform? Check. ID? . . . Uh. s**t. The ID? Where's the ID!?
There is a first time for everything and for Miss Lennyka, it was her first to prove herself to the crime syndicate she had come to abhor. She'd been stationed at the base for less than a month before she was approached by some shady elites commanding her to steal some documents for their cause. They gave no pretense for their choice; but from her bookish demeanor and appearance, even she could deduce she was a prime choice for the job. Unfortunately, she didn't want to go through with it, and the time she had to prepare herself for her first mission was mostly spent wallowing in despair that she had to actually steal something rather than preparation. When the day had finally come, the bespectacled girl spent the night checking and rechecking her belongings instead of slumbering (it's not like she could sleep anyway, considering her nightmares).
When the hour struck eight, Lennyka glared at herself in the mirror of her bathroom, slapped her face, and mentally said, "Okay, braidtails, show 'em what your made of!" With a quick dash, she launched herself from her room and headed to the garage to catch the jeep prepared to take her to her destination. Unfortunately, she had forgotten the company ID required to infiltrate the building and had to rush back to her dorm to get it, striking ten minutes off her mission time. However, when the laminated fake was in hand, Lennyka ran back, plopped into the vehicle, and was taken to Katarina to begin her first day as a criminal.

Katarina's air pressure was so thick, Lennyka felt her shoulders slump as if the entire weight of the universe was pressed upon her form. She forced out of a huff from the flutter of her heart, the jeep that dropped her off at the border of the urban jungle lighting to life and making its way back the path it came. With a single step, Lennyka trudged her way into the city with other thoughts to block the anxiety plaguing her mind.
I can do this, she told herself frantically. I can do this!
By the time the twenty year old reached the heart of the city, she was having severe tachycardia. Lennyka was prepared to faint any moment until Daffodil popped from her Pokeball without command and raised her paws towards her trainer in worry.
"Raiii," she whined to her trainer.
Lennyka chuckled sheepishly, one eye closed and a hand clutched upon her chest. "D-Don't worry about me, Daffodil," she told the Raichu. "I . . . I'll be fine, I promise."
The Raichu didn't believe her and stubbornly grabbed her leg and tugged her backward when the trainee took another step.
"Hey, let go, I have to . . . complete my mission . . . "
The Raichu, fretting over the state of Lennyka, quickly sought out another option nearby to take the trainee's mind off her mission. Jerking her head behind her, Daffodil noticed an electronics store just behind her. Several televisions were stacked before the display window, rerunning a Pokemon contest that happened some time ago. Pointing to it, the Electric-type forced Lennyka to take the time to watch.

Though it took some effort, Lennyka managed to get her mind off of her current state upon looking to the televisions. A Pikachu decorated with red ribbons on both ears suddenly launched into the air and crackled the stadium with a dazzling Thunderbolt. The trainee's mouth dropped at the sight as the sparkles from the appeal reflected in her eyes. Even Daffodil had drawn her mouth open in wonderment, the tip of her nose touching the glass with how drawn in to the beauty.
"That's . . . gorgeous . . . !" Lennyka muttered under her breath. "Daffodil, isn't that simply beautiful?"
"Rai!" the electrical rodent chirped in agreement.
Suddenly, a voice behind her said, "Actually, I thought the appeal was quite stiff. She could've done better."
Lennyka blinked and felt a swell of anger rise up inside of her. Balling her fists, she turned to the individual and spat, "H-How could you say that? Let's you see do something better!" Yet, she ended up doing a double take after her words when she saw the face of the individual and connected it to the coordinator on the television. It was the same.
"Ah, huh . . . " Lennyka was at a loss for words. She just rebuked the same person she was trying to defend. "I- Oh my Arceus, I'm so sorry, I didn't-"
The seaweed green haired woman chuckled lightly and replied, "It's all right. I'm honored you would defend me. Are you a fan?"
Lennyka gawked. "Well, no, I . . . Oh, no, I mean, I'm not acquainted with contests, but even I can see that that appeal was gorgeous!"
The woman chuckled again. "That is very, very kind of you. Tell me, what's your name? I'm Claramay Pearls; it's a pleasure to meet you."
"I'm-" Lennyka mentally shook her head. No, her name had to be kept secret. "I'm . . . Le- Rena. Nice to meet you Miss Pearls. And this is . . . D- Diana. Say hello Diana . . . "
"Raichu . . . Rai." In actuality, Daffodil had corrected Lennyka via Pokespeak, but the trainee tried to pass it off as a long introduction.
"She says hi," the trainee replied quickly.

"Hello there," Claramay greeted kindly. "It's nice to meet you, Diana."
The Raichu rubbed the back of her neck and sweatdropped. "Rai . . . " Daffodil returned sheepishly.
"So . . . " Claramay folded her arms before her bosom and cocked her head toward a coffee shop behind her. "Would you like to grab a drink?"
Lennyka blinked. Was she being hit on? The teal-haired bibliophile reddened a bit at the prospect of being in such a situation and began to decline, but the waves of her hand and choked up voice made her look like a malfunctioning mime. Still, Claramay got the message, and chuckled heartily again.
"Oh, no, it's nothing like that!" she spouted. "I was watching you just now; you don't look like you're in the greatest of states. Actually, you look quite nervous. Something important giving you the jitters? Some tea or coffee will put your soul at ease. You game?"
Lennyka nodded her head, darting her eyes downward. "I have . . . An interview! Yea, an interview to go to and I'm really nervous. I think . . . some coffee would be great."
"Wonderful," Claramay replied. "Coffee it is. It'll be on me."

Brandishing a smile that could rival the sun, Lennyka followed the shine of the woman's namesakes as if it were a beacon in the dark to the nearby coffee shop. Claramay broke from her temporarily to place their orders to a barista as she sought out a place for them to sit and speak. After choosing a table way in the corner (much to the chagrin that the trainee could read on the older woman's face), the coordinator sat, and continued their before conversation.
"So, tell me, what do you do for a living, Rena?"
Lennyka nearly did not respond to her temporary alias, but pipped up and replied, "I'm . . . a watcher! Yes, I watch Pokemon a lot."
Claramay made a pushing motion with her finger as if she were holding a camera. "Do you take photos?" she asked, following it up with a gesture as if she were holding a pencil and scribbling, "Or draw? I'd love to see your work."
"Oh, no, I don't . . . " Lennyka replied, bowing her head. "I just . . . watch Pokemon. That's all."
Claramay chuckled. "I . . . see," she replied. "I guess you lose a lot staring contests then?"
This, obviously being a pinch to the girl's reflex to shooting her glance down constantly, instantly caused the teal-haired girl to look straight back up to her. "Yea . . . " she muttered, returning it back to looking blankly at the mosaic pattern on the tabletop. The view was eventually changed to her staring at her own reflection behind the steaming fumes of a fresh cup of coffee that was placed before her by a waitress.

Lennyka pinched the handle of the cup between forefinger and thumb and brought the brim to her lips. Taking a drink, she retched, and spat the mouthful of oak brown liquid back into the cup. Claramay tilted her head at her.
"Is something the matter?" she asked, sipping her own serving lightly. "Did you burn your tongue?"
Lennyka shook her head. "It's... sweet," she replied. "Really, really sweet."
Claramay chuckled lightly. "You don't like sweet things?"
Lennyka shook her head. "N-No, I don't. Sorry."
"Oh, no, blame me," the coordinator replied. "I should've asked you what you wanted. I'm sorry."
Lennyka blinked and her tense shoulders slumped. She smiled lightly to the middle-aged woman and shook her head. "It's fine."
"So..." Balancing her elbows on the table and forming a bridge with her intertwined fingers to rest her chin, Claramay returned the girl's smile. "Have you always found an interest in coordinating?"
Lennyka blinked a few times and shook her head. "I've watched appeals... a few times... on television... O-Oh, but not those televisions! One I own... at the b- at home. I don't watch television outside..."
"Mmm, I see," Claramay hummed. "Have you seen my appeals a lot?"
Lennyka's eyes brightened. "Yes! Oh, yes, I have! I've seen both of your performances! Arie is nice, but Mira is my favorite! I own a Pikachu! W-Well, I did, but I evolved her... But I did! I wish she could shoot electrical bolts as beautifully as Mira!"
Claramay could hold back a hearty chuckle. "My, you sure do know how to make a person feel embarrassed," she replied, shooing at the girl with a hand but holding an expression that obviously enjoyed the praise. "It's nice to know I have a fan, though."

Lennyka blushed. "I... I'm only one, though. I'm sure you have a lot of fans..."
Claramay's smiled widened. "I may have a lot of fans," she replied. "But I love each and every one of them."
Lennyka's flush deepened. She continued to chat with the older woman and slowly, her jitters began to vanish. For the one time in her life, the bespectacled girl felt she found a friend in someone. She nearly lost herself with the time, but after glancing up to a clock in the coffee shop, did the grunt suddenly launch herself to standing and blanched.
"My mission!" she cried out.
"Mission?" Claramay inquired confusedly.
"I-I'm sorry, Claramay, I have to go..." Lennyka stood up and reached into her pocket and dropped a few dollars onto the table. "That's for my cup... and another one, as a thank you for talking with me. Do enjoy..."
Claramay rose as well, picking the bills off the tabletop to place back into Lennyka's hand. "It's all right," she said. "I have to go as well, so please, save your money for another time we have to talk together."
Lennyka nodded. "It's a date!" she happily returned. "I'll see you again some time, Claramay!" With her new found courage supplied by the coordinator, Lennyka dashed from the coffee shop and to the company she had to infiltrate.

Her task was an easy one: infiltrate S Corp and steal a blueprint for a machine. Her debriefing files provided her with everything she needed, from the location of the blueprint, to any security cameras, to even how long the mission should take. Elites even supplied her with a disguise and a fake ID to make it easier passed the security checkpoint. After flashing the card to the sleepy female at the gate, she passed through into the building, and rushed up the many flights of the stairs up to the sixth floor.
Opening the door to the room where it was located, Lennyka saw the blueprint rolled out on the table; a steaming cup of coffee holding down one of the furled corners. The grunt's eyes immediately caught onto this. It meant someone was once in the room and that meant someone was going to return. She didn't have much time to dawdle. Just as one of her gloved hands touched the plans, the ventilation grate perpendicular to the table was kicked out with force. After a grunt and a bit of struggle, something fell from it, and landed with a clumsy drop to the floor.
The woman cursed to herself as she rose, rubbing her bum in dismay. Lennyka's pupils widened to the sight of a face she saw only minutes before. It was Claramay Pearls.

In unison, the two said, "s**t."
Lennyka's eyes darted to the patch on Claramay's left breast and blinked. "Y-Y-You're part of Team Galactic!?" she shouted. "H-How? Why? Why- Mmph!"
Cetus rushed up to her with a glare and slapped a hand over her mouth. "Would you stop yelling!?" she whispered firmly. "They'll know we're here... And I should be asking you that question! Why the frick are you here!?"
Lennyka pushed her away. "I-I'm a member of Team Rocket!" she replied. "I'm here to steal that!" She pointed to the schematics.
Cetus blinked. "So am I! s**t. There's no way that's happening!"
Before Lennyka had a chance to react, she earned a roundhouse kick to the cheek. She clattered back to the wall, hitting the back of her head, and slid down its entirety to slump against the floor. Cetus rushed to the table and tugged the paper off the table with such a pull, the hot cup of coffee flipped off the table and shattered onto the floor.
Lennyka slowly began to come to and, as she did so, she noticed a young scientist standing in the mouth of the doorway; silhouetted by the hallway's light. He began to shiver with fright as she stood with a wobble and eventually screamed, "T-Team Rocket!"
Lennyka rolled her eyes behind her glasses. Punching him in the face and knocking him out cold, Lennyka looked down both ways of the hallway and ran down the left way. Her face was taut with anger; she wasn't going to fail her first mission.

Lennyka found herself at a loss upon reaching the end of the hallway. Again, it split into two halves running equal lengths. Which way should she take? Suddenly, she heard the firing of gunshots and the wiz of some kind of cable or tether after the breaking of glass. The cacophony of sounds, which came from the right corridor, caused the Team Rocket grunt to start running again. She rushed up the flight of stairs she came upon, then up another, then another, until she heard more gunshots and, now, the wild flutter of a propeller.
Tugging the door to the floor open, the bespectacled girl was nearly blown back by the strong push of wind from the shattered windows. She lifted her arm defensively in front of her face as bits of glass was flung by the gales. When she finally had a chance to open her eyes, her pupils dilated in awe.
There was a large, ivory helicopter just outside the building's vicinity. A stylized, yellow G was on the side, obviously signaling it belonged to Team Galactic. Cetus had just fired her grappling hook onto the landing skids. She had turned to the sound of Lennyka bursting through the door and flashed the girl a mischievous grin.
I won, it read.
Lennyka felt a burst of anger encompass her form. With all rational thought leaving her brain, she found herself running for the middle-aged woman just as she was being tugged away by the airborne vessel. Lennyka grappled the woman and hugged onto her waist as the helicopter descended. Cetus squirmed uncomfortably while in the younger woman's grip, both surprised and angered by her courage.
"Let go, you b***h!" she cried, clawing her free hand onto the top of Lennyka's head and pushing down.
Lennyka growled. "N-No!" she shouted. "I am.. Ergh... I am not going to fail my first mission! Give me the blueprint!"
"O-Over my rotting corpse!" Cetus yelled back. "Let go!"
"No!" Lennyka cried again. "Never!"

"Give me the blueprints!"
Cetus fixed a glare onto the girl, but suddenly, her eyes darted up as the door to the helicopter was shifted open. Urania stood in the opening.
"Hey, Cetus!" the girl called over the roar of the whipping propeller. "Are you gonna come up yet?"
Cetus frowned. "I'm in a bit of a bind now, Urania!" she replied. "Give me a moment!"
Urania blinked at the extra passenger she had taken along with her on the ride. "Making friends, Cetus?" she called down teasingly. "Well, get rid of her! If not, I can't pull you up!"
The grunt tried to hold her anger. "I'm trying!" Cetus informed her. "So can this chitchat wait for another time!?"
"Give me the blueprints!" Lennyka shouted again.
"Shut up, you!" Cetus bellowed again, pushing down the girl harder. "If you don't let go this instant, I swear I'll-!"
Fortunately, for the Galactic grunt, her fight with Lennyka didn't seem like it'd last very long. The teal-haired girl felt herself begin to slip and her grip loosen from around the woman's waist. It didn't help that she was being forced down either. Suddenly, Lennyka slid down Cetus's form until she was hanging on for dear life from the woman's left leg. The middle-aged woman began to kick at her with her right; pummeling the girl until her head felt dizzy. With her concentration shaken and her strength gone, Lennyka had no choice but to let go. She became the victim of gravity and dropped from the helicopter; the world spinning before her as the woman who once called herself Claramay cast her one last look before preparing herself to be pulled up by Urania.
As she fell, Lennyka closed her eyes, and sighed. Today I made a friend, she thought, and an enemy.
