 *~::[2-2] Okina City Highway::~*
[Stage 2 Cont...]The second stage of the Intermediate Course brings bikers to the highway which runs directly into the heart of Okina City and past its eastern railway; the inner city awaits at the end of the track, ending the last mostly-straight portion of the race until the far side of Okina City. So if you were looking for things to get easier than that open-road remake of Road Rash you just encountered, don't expect to see those hopes fulfilled anytime soon.
Remember all that inner-city turning and dodging and crashing back in Iwatodai? Now you get to do it again. Only this time, there aren't any beginner chumps to push around...there's only veterans of the road, and...huh, do you think they have a Wild Duck Burger in Okina City?

  Haoul Yamakaji And Kanade Tachibana
Haoul quickly revved up his engine upon the girl's remark, giving little regard to his safety, before he started to go along the path. It hadn't gotten any easier, but he was able to regain some of his lost speed, and widen the gap again.
"Go pull yourself off." he snapped back, revving up. "And eat my Dust!"
Kanade wasn't able to capitalize on his loss of speed, having to stick to slow, careful moves as she drove. She was losing the race still, and he was still ahead of her by a wide margin. It was close...but she had to keep going. She had to try to beat him!

 Saiga GirikoSaiga couldn't maneuver fast enough to pull too far ahead of the masked figure, and keep herself from crashing into something. He'd certainly been good on his bike too...Though, she had just gotten her license.
Gotta be careful.. she thought to herself, as she kept driving, trying to pick up some speed to widen the smal gap between the two of them. She had to keep driving if she wanted to win.... and there was still over half the course to go.  Saiga Giriko, and Kanade TachibanaSaiga didn't move too much faster, but she wasn't exactly skidding to a halt either. She kept up a good pace, and was doing her best to pull ahead of Kanade, even as the girl was trailing behind.
"Come on...you're slower than Shu in the morning after a Shift." Saiga taunted back, as she started along the highway that lead into Okina City. It was decently crowded, so she'd have to be careful...
I think I can handle it right now though. she thought, working to preserve her lead.Kanade shook a bit, losing her balance for a short bit, before catching herself. She'd lost a lot of speed because of that ,but it was better than slamming into someone, or their car. She doubled down, trying to focus.

 Ƞix Gallen Nix was starting to see how people become so competitive. She was getting tired of being stuck behind Gin! So she sped up, focusing on avoiding the passing cars as she tried to pass him. "Certainly are a lot of cars around here.. he called to himself, glancing at Yosuke and the others. He wasn't too worried about his own reflexed, but with the way his senior'd been driving....
I'm more scared for the drivers, than him. He confessed to himself, as he continued along, trying to catch up with the crowd. Quote: Matsu-Class speed bike. Eiji "Gin" Mishima  Even though they'd come this far Nix was still there, at the head of the pack, keeping up with Gin every inch of the way and making sure he felt the pressure. There were real professional biker sleazes who couldn't do this, and he could almost see her wearing some biker gang's cut and rolling with a pack of twenty other leathered up freedom fighters as they took to the road. It was a vivid image...and a scary one. Gin had encountered those types before; he'd kind of gotten into a fight with one before too, and he'd driven with a pack of those guys too. And a scary Nix-led Biker Gang...was anyone's nightmare.

"If I'm not Number 1, then I'm nothing."And he wouldn't quit, even if the race was out of hand. His last segment had been more impressive than any other of his since the first, and if he could end the race as well as he had started it, he might actually have a chance of finishing out of the back of the pack. He had to buckle down now and really get sharp, really get going if he was going to beat these kids and maintain his reputation. He needed to be No. 1! Strives for it!

Eiji "Gin" Mishima 'Come on...come on...it's right there, take her girl!' Gin inwardly encouraged his bike as he pushed harder and harder, hoping to find the tiniest sliver of an opening before things were settled. The highway was a lot more complicated than it first appeared; Okina was a bit more country than Iwatodai, but it was also that much busier because it was an area that connected people. Last time he'd managed to navigate the roads smoothly, but this time he was being pressed a lot closer, by people who wouldn't give an inch, and although the race wasn't settled he had to make a clean break now or there wouldn't be another opportunity before the end.

As the others continued to pick up speed and motor along, he hazarded a glance to the side. The rugged looking man was calling back to someone, and he turned to see who.
The hair of silver, and the familiar face spiked a reaction in him, as he reflexively flinched, and turned away.
"D..Don't hurt me." he muttered instinctively, despite never having met the girl. Something about her just....panicked him. Maybe it was just the fervor in which she was driving her Steam-Motorcycle? Maybe...
"I...I haven't...d..done anything.."

"Ho...huh? Get ready to witness the power of a true summoner elite!"Ah, there was the city of Okina! As it came into sight at the end of the Line, Nito couldn't help but think that the city...wasn't nearly as beautiful as the last one. Nia would have been excited riding into Iwatodai for the first time, but Okina was more of a middle-of-the-road city, somewhere that was bit, but not exactly exciting. He had heard they had nice theaters, though...ooh! Maybe he could take her to see a movie there some time...if...he had any money, that was. The Crows didn't exactly pay him his stipend anymore, although he had some savings...he had to be somewhat thrifty. Favors for cash. That sort of thing.
Mostly, he let Nia handle finances, anyway.
