I was having a discussion yesterday at school with my friends about Blink 182's sudden decision to have a 'indefinite hiatus' now they've been around along time and were touring for 2 years straight.
Now the thought came to us that Green Day have been around for such a long time too. When they have finished touring it'll be getting on for nearly two years. So, we thought, what if they decide to break up to spend time with their now growing families. Or, will they just hide for a few years and then come out with another outstanding album again?
What are your thoughts? 3nodding

What are your thoughts? 3nodding I think they will be around for a good while. I mean Billie writes music about his experiences as an outlet, at least thats my impression, so I dont think they will be going anytime soon. Maybe take breaks sure, most bands do.

i think they'll be around for a long time, but it's possible they will want to spend time with their family. I alway keep in mind what Billie said, "the only way one of us will leave the band is in a body bag." so yeah i think they'll stick around.

hmmm...well i do think they will be around probably more often since they are suddenly getting so much fame from their album American Idiot. But you are right about their growing kids n' stuff--how many albums do they have now like 6? it's so awesome how they managed to still rock on! I look forward to their new album (if they have one)

Yeah...they'll SEEMINGLY disappear for a while, but then BAM - come out with another great album!!
Plus the whole thing with Billie Joe "investing way too much into this band" and not letting anyone quit. xp mrgreen

Well, two years is a long time... Would you want to be away from your family for so long? I think they'll take a break for a while (maybe a couple of years) then they'll begin writing a new album and we'll get it in 3 years?

I think that's great that they try to work things out and not just quit and let everyone down. heart

Sorry, I always seem to forget Kerplunk! Maybe because it's the only one I don't have. I dunno.

I doughts it, I mean U2 has been out for nearly 30 years, The Red Hot Chili Peppers were out for 20 years and counting. Green Day will last a while longer, I hope so, god damn it.
