Location: The Hunterlands She was waiting. Crouched in the tall grass, Sister was a perfectly still and almost invisible presence. Through the grass she could see, through her lazy half-lidded gaze, the entrance of a rabbit warren and she had been waiting patiently for the home owner to finally emerge for its dusk meal. She was aware that as the sun sunk lower, the likelihood of meeting one of the big cats increased. That was not something she wanted to deal with and she hoped to catch a meal and be gone to a safe den before the moon rose. Not that the reticent bunny seemed to want to make that a reality. Sister kept waiting. Then just as she was considering giving up the game for tonight, there was movement. A nose appeared, twitching and testing the air. A head appeared, followed by half a body as the rabbit poised cautiously at the edge of its warren. A bit further, she urged the beast and tensed her muscles to pounce, just a little bit closer.

Glacier had wandered a fair piece away from home, he was getting sort of tired, but he had been hunting fruitlessly all day. He had caught the scent of rabbit not too long ago, and had been following it. Though, recently it had become accompanied by the scent of another sentinel, but he smelled them all over the place, and mostly thought nothing of it.
The smell of the small rodent was getting stronger, and it was flooding his nostrils as he approached. The direction from which he was coming toward it allowed such that he could smell the rabbit, but the scent of the other sentinel faded behind it, as the breeze carried it past him at an angle just so.
He lowered his body to the ground as he crawled into some long grass, peeking through the thick blades to see if he could gain vantage on the rodent. The pale colored sentinel knew he had a bit harder of a chance due to his coloring, although sometimes it gave him a bit of advantage, as prey were commonly expecting different colors of predators coming for them.
He wiggled anxiously, shaking a little as he spotted the rabbit, it was just beginning to emerge from it's little home. He stalked a little closer and watched it for a moment as it crawled slowly, cautiously...Glacier watched and waited, his small body poised to pounce.
He waited some more...then he ran for it, leaping from the grass and grabbing for the rabbit by stretching his neck and his claws. He grasped it in his jaws and then grabbed at it with his little hands, it screamed loudly as he grabbed it, and the sentinel thought he was triumphant, for he hadn't noticed the female of his own kind at all, especially not that she had been stalking to same creature...

Sister was primed to jump. She was one the very edge of leaping and could almost taste the rabbit already. It had been a days since she had last had a proper meal. Now! Oh wait, who is that? She aborted her attack mid-way when someone else beat her to it. With wide-eyes she watched as the blue male dived in, snatching up her prey. Where has he been hiding? The female sighed and rose from her half-crouch, pushing out of the grass and into full view. She made no aggressive movements, simply stared calmly at her fellow Sentinel. "I don’t suppose," she said after a moment, her tone wistful, "that you feel like sharing."

Glacier began to shake slightly as the female emerged and spoke to him. He stared at her with wide eyes for a moment as the rabbit finished struggling, then he opened his mouth to speak and it fell to the ground pathetically.
Her smell was familiar...most likely it had been this female he had smelled earlier when he had been coming this way, suppose she'd be hunting the silly thing too. Now he just felt bad, but he didn't know really what to say. He shook a little more as he got nervous.
"Y-yeah. No..." He paused for a moment not realizing it had come out wrong, placing his hands together and tapping his claws, "you can have it. Don't worry..." He bent down and used his nose to push it toward her. He was hungry, but he had eaten well last night, and it wasn't urgent. He didn't know what her story was, but he was pretty easy going albeit incredibly nervous and shy.

The female cocked her head to the side and clucked her tongue, watching him curiously. He seemed so nervous. Good thing she hadn't been inclined to get really annoyed about her meal being stolen, otherwise he might have bolted faster than that rabbit. Her gaze slid to the rabbit where it lay dead and broken and back to the male. “You caught it,” she stated slowly, tempted to take him up on his offer but knowing she would feel bad about it later if she did. “We can share.” She inched closer and offered a smile, “My name is Sister.”

The male shifted his weight, and he continued to shake slightly. He hadn't always been this way, but he figured there was nothing wrong with being cautious. Well, okay maybe Glacier was a little over cautious, but he wouldn't be the first to realize or admit that fact.
He watched her carefully, her pale colored skin and the way her muscles moved as she moved a little closer. He made a small movement away from her, instinctually and did a little grimace, then a small bow.
"I insist. I'll be fine until later...or tomorrow. P-please." He pushed it right to her feet and then looked up at her, their noses inches apart and smiled back, a little hesitantly.
"Glacier." He said, nodding his head in a silly way, his tail flicked back and forth. "N-nice to meet you..." He trailed off, shaking himself, trying to calm his nerves and his body. He was just such a self-conscious creature.

“Well, if you insist…” Sister said slowly, and then, careful not to touch him accidentally, she snatched up the rabbit and took three steps back. In her new position she crouched down, got a good grip on one of the rabbit’s hind legs and tore it free. The next few moments were filled with her hurried disposal of her meal, gulping it down as quickly as she could as if worried Glacier or someone else would take it away. Finished, bones and all, she looked back at the male. Her tongue flicked out, licking blood off her nose. “I was hungry.” She looked somewhat embarrassed by her gluttony, but her stomach was satisfied. Sister sniffed the air and glanced up at the darkening sky. “We should find shelter away from here, before something is attracted to the smell of death.”

Glacier watched with much interest as the female consumed the rabbit. He was most often by his lonesome, and he had never really shared a meal with anyone, save for his mother when he was very young, but she had gotten sick and passed from complications, and he had become separated from the rest of his family, so he had been on his own since. He shook those thoughts from his head to listen to what Sister was saying.
"I'm s-sure you must have been. G-glad I could h-help." He gave another hesitant smile to her.
"Oh, y-yes, you're riiight." He said slowly, blinking at her and tilting his head. He hadn't considered that it was getting dark, but despite his shyness and nervous disposition, Glacier was quite the accomplished hunter and fighter. He just preferred not to show that side unless it was absolutely necessary. Pacifism was generally more his style. "Yes, let's f-find somewhere to get some rest up th-there?" He said, turning a little to the east and pointing her attention to a rocky outcrop atop a grassy knoll. It was a good vantage point, and he had spotted a little cranny earlier that he'd considered having a nap in, to be honest...
"I know how to g-get up th-there." He nodded insistently.

She moved her head to follow his gaze. It was the perfect destination. Sister nodded. “Let’s go.” Despite her words stretched first, cleaned some more blood off her claws and only then did she step towards Glacier, waiting expectantly for him to lead the way. Not for a moment did she consider leaving him to go her own way. Their meeting seemed fortuitous and it had been a while since she’d had company. A chat and snuggle partner after a good meal was perfect.

Glacier watched the female carefully, as she stretched and preened and again moved closer to him. It was weird, but she seemed nice enough that maybe he wouldn't worry so much about her. If she had wanted to be mean, she probably would have already by now, right?
"Y-yes, sure. H-here, follow m-me?" He said, kind of unsurely, starting off slowly toward the grassy knoll as the sun fell closer to the horizon. At least the sunset was beautiful, perhaps it would be pleasant to enjoy it not by his lonesome for once. He was happy that he had been able to make someone else happy.
Well, Glacier assumed she was happy, the way she'd eaten that rabbit. He turned for a moment and offered her a little smile. "Around th-this way, you can't g-go straight up." He nodded and started around the side of the hill.

With a returning smile, Sister followed. As she walked along behind him, she took turns checking out their surroundings and studying Glacier. She had to admit, he was a handsome fellow. Younger than her she felt, though maybe that was just his mannerisms. She wondered why he was so skittish. Of course, for anyone who spent a lot of time on their own, caution was a good trait to have. Or perhaps he was merely shy. In any case, he had a fine bit of hair and his colours, when the fading light allowed her to inspect them were intricate and delicate. He was probably prettier than she was. Sister almost chuckled at the thought but held the sound back, not wanting to alarm him.

The shy male tried to stay quiet as they made their way up, he had only been up there once and figured it was good for him to just focus on the way up, she was quiet too, which was fine by him. She was pretty, fair colored like himself almost...he didn't see too many others that had light coloration, it was rare he had been told when he was young. And his peers sure hadn't let him forget it.
"Almost th-there." He said quietly, turning to her and feeling like he had caught her in admiring his hair. She looked as if she were trying not to crack a smile. He felt embarrassed and shy for a moment, and blushed a little.
"H-here, you g-go f-f-first." Glacier said, stepping aside to reveal a little hidey hole in the outcrop that looked just more than enough room for two to sit comfortably. Conveniently, it was facing the horizon upon which the sun was slowly sinking.

Sister stepped forward to inspect the hole, leaning in and sniffing carefully. It seemed safe enough and the two of them would be able to defend it if they were challenged in the night. With a quick glance at Glacier, she crept inside. Making her way to the far end, she settled down and made herself comfortable. "Your turn," she called.

The male laughed a little, a small, shrill laugh. Not well practiced. He swished his tail and then crawled in after her, laying beside her though his tail ended up curling around her hip a bit. He cleared his throat and pulled his tail in closer to himself. Oops. He blushed more.
"Well Sister...i-is your h-home far from h-here?" Glacier asked, trying to make small talk so that they wouldn't just sit there. It was hard for him, he didn't really know much to talk about with others, but she seemed nice, and he'd never really been given the time of day by any female that had really seemed nice. Sure, he had been admired before, but it was never with friendly intentions. He had been made fun of his fair share, as well...

Sister made a comforting sound; the sort of noise a mother would make to a timid child. She shifted her own tail so that it was now resting against him, making it clear that she really didn't mind the physical contact and he need not try to avoid her space. "Home? No. I don't have a place I call that." Not having a pack meant she had to constantly wander in search of new hunting grounds.
