New Year's 1999
2013 Prologue

On New Year's Eve 2013, from 6pm to midnight, your characters will exist in a timeline where the events of 1999 never happened and the war with the Horseman Clans is still at a low level.

Things To Know:
General
- your characters do not remember the canon timeline
- if you had a hunter in 1999 never happened, you may play them as still alive in the ball
- Runic Hunters are still in existence, some choose to stay on-island and do domestic tasks, desk work, and teach. Others choose to work on the field, those that survive the first few years generally considered more skilled (and possibly more crazy) than a hunter with a weapon
- keep in mind that female Runic Hunters may also bear children
- whole families live on the island, the town is large and well-kept with a number of small businesses active
- the school is open and relatively full

Current Hunter Practices
- forced weaponization was halted early on, this means there are fewer weapons available, but Insanity is not a threat (your current hunter may or may not have bonded to their canon weapon, especially if they forced into becoming a weapon - they may also have a different weapon if they had a parent/grandparent who would have passed their weapon on prior to dying)
- potential hunters are found much earlier in age (10-16 is the standard range, would still be after 1999 though)
- those with a good home life are invited to attend Deus as a special summer camp until they are high school age. At that point, they are invited to attend Deus as a sort of boarding school. They must be graduated and 18 or older to be recruited as an actual trainee. Becoming a full hunter isn't considered until they are at least 21
- college is encouraged as a means of keeping trainees socialized within normal human society
- those with a poor home life soon find themselves fostered by families that live on the island, often the larger, older families.
- hunters may choose to fake their death/cut themselves off from their civilian family, but its not mandatory

Things that have come up:

The point of divergence is the 1999 meta. Everything prior to the events of 1999 are the same. Your character's life would not have changed to this au timeline until after that point.

Pets?
Pets still change a bit on the island, there's still a lot of FEAR energy around, which leads them to becoming aggressive and even feral. Fish are popular though.

Weapons that have a new hunter are still the same type of weapon. Experiences after bonding can alter weapon appearance, but they would have started the same as they did in the canon timeline.

RPing children and other such characters?
They may be present, but are not to be played as POV characters.

PRPs/Solos outside of the ORP threads?
These will be allowed, however the IC time frame must be 12-31-2014 from 6pm to midnight.

Will family trees be more known and open?
Yes, without the threat to bloodlines, this information is available and readily shared.

Appearance: Tanned with blonde short hair, this Clarice is much the same as the canon timeline appearance wise, though her wardrobe trends much toward coveralls, t-shirts, and jeans.
Notes: A Runic Hunter that splits her time between the labs and teaching at the school (Shop and Phys Ed.) In a committed relationship with Ben Summers.

Appearance: (dyed) black hair with a bright cyan streak, thick rim black glasses, curves, tired smile
Notes: twin to cee (played by jenn), goes by whatever name suits her to the newbies but has mostly laid off the pranking, uses twin barrier guns.

Appearance: fiery red hair down to her upper thigh, with all of it always in a loose plait except for her traditional cone buns. no scars. red eyes. big grin. has the whole mom-tired look going on, because she splits her time in a billion places. usually barefoot.
Notes:

- recruited at fourteen before she ran away to the circus.
- still fixates on it, but in a childish way and for show, instead of a deep seated need.
- formerly death, now in life
- totally has happy fun 'threesome times' with clarice and ben on occasion
- a summer camp counselor for acrobatics and a general shrink
- is killzone's therapy minion during the rest of the year

Notes: happily in death, BFFs with lucky (vonder tvins), strong russian accent but better vocabulary/grasp on grammar, no longer has issues with touch due to REASONS, more to be added later

Hunter Name: Becca Brooks (Married to Cody Brooks)

Appearance: [HERE] Small and willowy form, She has a long black braid down her back with small slivers of silver. Her gaze is bright and serious though, and while she is a older woman, she has a very youthful exuberance. It must be because she's married to Cody.
Notes:

- Married to Cody for almost 13 years
- Adopted Otto as their only child, since she cannot bear children
- Also shares her house with old time friend Lex, and fondly refers to him as Uncle Lex.
- Very serious, but fond of Otto and Cody and that's about it. And Lex too, SHE GUESSES.
- Currently a active mist huntress, takes on a lot of the odder jobs.

Notes: Graduated high school at the age of 18 and has been recruited/living at Deus for over a year. Currently still a trainee and attending college and still has contact with his adoptive family in Canada.
He has no bandage over his nose, since the incident that caused the scar never occurred.

Age: 21, almost 22.

Notes: Raised on the island since his youth, he has lived with Ian and Alistaire Rahal-Nazari as a brother, even if they aren't related. He has been balancing work as a trainee and a student at the same time, whilst still actively watching over his foster brothers.

Notes:
- Mist assistant, getting ready to take over as Div Lead
- Married to Croix Richardson, Death Hunter (bonded w/weapon)
- A lot more positive and open. Willing to sit down and talk to hunters to figure out their strengths/weaknesses and work on improving them. Very physical, will often "kidnap" hunters for surprise survival training-slash-vacations. Acts childish and over-enthusiastic when really into things.
- Volunteers/helps out at Deus Summer Camp. Teaches camping/survival and leads a cabin. Those entrusted to her care often find themselves being moved to a random location during the middle of the night for impromptu island hikes/activities ie "how the hell did we get up on this cliff MISS ARIA WHY ARE YOU ON THE OTHER SIDE AND WHY ARE YOU POINTING AT A VERY LONG LOOKING TRAIL NO I DON'T WANNAAAAA --"

Hunter Type: Partnered (an kpinga called Uduak. Also uses a runic sub-machine gun for overkill)
Age: 40+
Appearance: African woman with an eyepatch, dread locks with beads. Very stern, very militaristic clothing.
Notes:
- Constantly wears a "judging you" expression
- Strict and Stern
- Very biased towards other divisions, will not hesitate to prove to any non-Mists just how much "dedication" they lack compared to Mists by becoming your personal drill sergeant from hell.
- "Inner Mists" has been renamed the "Desperados," where Hunters who have few/no ties to others go to train for the very serious/heavy missions. It's an unofficial division that's a sub-section of Mists and is where Nkiruka spends much of her focus to the point that she's getting ready to have Aria take over Mists in order to focus/fine-tune said Desperados. 'cause hey: being a hero means doing something not because you want to do it, but because it needs to be done. No matter the cost.

Hunter Name: Shepard "Lance" Dacosta

Hunter Type: Runic
Age: ...30something whatever he is /lazy
Appearance: Minus the giant flaming lance.
Notes:
- Still in his wheelchair, yep.
- Adopted daughters: Nevada and Idaho (Pandora aka Potato)
- Serves as a runic "quartermaster" of sorts where he helps match prospective runic users to weapons that best fit them, offers training in various runics.
- Earned the nickname "Lance" from when he would use a runic lance in battle. Said "style" that he uses lead to his downfall, which is a story he will tell over and over again in order to drive it into anyone's heads that safety is important don't roll your eyes at me Potato or you Slots he has his eye on you.
- Meanwhile, his wheelchair constantly is being souped up by Lucky.
- And said wheelchair is being trolled by Kostya.

Hunter Name: Croix Richardson

Appearance: Black hair, glasses, broad shouldered, looks like a lumberjack when he has a beard (no beard atm).

Appearance: Minus weapon. Maybe.
Notes:
- Very likely visited Deus as a summer camp/went to school?
- Very likely attending some sort of anger management program thingie idk.
- Very likely to be involved in sports/some sort of program to redirect negative energy/burn energy/something

Age: 21
Appearance: No scars. Wears polos/khakis. Mid-length dirty blonde hair (just above shoulders). Very fit.
Notes:
Personality - Fair, hard-working, all around a good guy. Plays shortstop. Technophobe.
Weapon - Traciel, a large, winged axe with white runes. Angelic/chivalrous. Straight-forward, precise, controlled. Harrison keeps him in top condition, with daily polishings and (when not in battle), training course runs. He is healthy, happy, and well-fed. Traciel's natural healing abilities are also developed. Desummoned, he is a winged keychain.
History - Adopted, grew up on-island, not great at school but was happy to concentrate on physical training, best day of his life was when he bonded with a weapon. Still sees his mom. Specializes in Rescue/Recovery.

Age: 44
Appearance: Very clean, neat, wears button-ups and pressed pants. Fine, short, combed blonde hair. Soft, rounded body, and even with all his years as a Runic hunter, only has a few thin scars.
Notes: Very precise. Polite. Softly-spoken. Invasive, not respectful of personal boundaries, has a tendency to go through people's mail...and closets, and computers. Controlling. Faster than he looks. Pays close attention. Enjoys cooking, cleanliness, housework. Cecil Moore is his oldest friend. Does not have any adopted children.
