I am now done with my Dragon type team, and would like to start forming a more balanced team for competitive battling. At the moment I've chosen three of my favorite 'badass' Pokemon for the team:

Gallade: Naughty
Gliscor: Impish
Hydriegon: Mild
Scizor: Hardy

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on who to add to my team. I'm going for Pokemon that have that cool feeling to them. I'm considering a Staraptor. Would anyone give me their opinions on the matter?

Well, as far as "Badass: pokemon, how about the Bravest Bird around?

.........

Talonflame!

Scizor is always a good pick as it's just a very solid pokemon, what with it's boosting and priority. I'm actually partial to Final Gambit Accelgor, as the suicide ninja bug has made it's way into my heart by busting up enemy walls like a boss.

Greninja can throw a wrench into a lot of people's plans because it's hard to predict since it can run either special or physical sets and still do well. It usually needs a Life Orb to fulfill it's role, but it can be really effective when used correctly. Also, it's a ninja with very angular features, so I think it qualifies as cool.

Are there any particular roles you need to fill for your team? Going for total offensive pressure, need a wall, entry hazard setter, rapid spinner, team support?

I hate Talonflame
But I really am considering Scizor. I'm looking for a good sweeper Pokemon to accompany Hydrigon during a double battle. Off course I need a rather fast Pokemon, who also has a ground resistance.

Are you 100% on Gallade/Bisharp? I wouldn't use them personally. Gallade is slow and frail (physically). Bisharp has 4x weakness to Fighting, 2x to the omnipresent Earthquake, and is also slow. I've always found these 2 to be dead weight. Two frail and slow physical attackers might be a bad idea.

I'll write a better post later, I just wanted to ask you about this first.

I could possibly give up Bisharp, but not Gallade. I've got a certain Bias towards him. Who would you recommend?

I'm going to defend Bisharp here since he's been quite serviceable to me so far. (I haven't used Gallade at all this gen so I don't know what, if anything, has changed for the better for him).

Bisharp possesses a high base Attack stat, as well as Swords Dance to boost it. It also has one of the strongest priority moves in the game in STAB Sucker Punch. It's ability Defiant allows it to laugh at stat-affecting abilities such as Sticky Web, Intimidate, King's Shield, and more. The nerf to the Steel-type as a whole is a blessing in disguise: Bisharp no longer needs Fighting-type moves to hit opposing Steels, and is the only Steel-type in the game that still resists Ghost-type. And speaking of resistances, it has a decent Defense stat with plenty of resistances as Bisharp resists Normal, Flying, Rock, Ghost, Steel, Grass, Ice, Dragon, Dark-types and is Immune to Poison and Psychic-types).

Now I'm not saying he's going to make or break your team, but he has been plenty useful with the right Pokemon around him to cover his shortfallings.

So with Bisharp out, and my Staraptor and Ninjask in, I still have one more spot open.

Well him and Gallade are alike. I'm open to other ideas though. Hydriegon and Gallade will always stay, but others are replaceable.

I'm just hunting down a shiny starly right now.

if you want a flying type, you could always go with gliscor. he's got electric protection from being part ground, but you've just gotta watch out for ice. He's also got some really god moves/abilities, like his Poison Heal ability works perfectly with a toxic orb, Fling it out later to poison an enemy, have a powered-up Facade, powered-up acrobatics, and heal every turn. with a good partner that can counter his weaknesses, you're good.
