St Kore was just as it had been the last time she had visited. Still crumbling and mostly abandoned. Though flowers had been planted along the pathway that lead to the old church. Perhaps this would be next on the list for rebuilding. She knew Isidore had a fondness for it. It was possible he might take it on.
"I do not remember this place from the past, though I doubt I used this entrance. Cold stone, rotting flesh and bones is much more Nergal's forte."

"I do not remember much of this place either, I will admit." Jinx said. "We were never one to use those pathways unless we had no other choice." Her lord could move however he warned with the soul paths, after all. She could not navigate them like valkyries did, but she had often followed him, and was good at enduring their effect.
"We will have to be careful, my lady. I do not know how well those passages are maintained." The cathedral had fallen is relative disuse until Isidore had claimed it, and as far as she knew, the young lord was unaware of the pathways stemming from the crypt.

"Ah, yes of course." The Soul paths, there was so much information to keep in her new brain, though she supposed only half of it was hers. "Then we will go slowly." She agreed, there would be no use in rushing and getting into trouble. "Perhaps when we are done I could find someone able to secure the passages."

"It would probably be a good idea." The cat opened one of the doors to the far back, revealing stone steps leading downwards into the darkness below. It would not be a problem for her, but she nonetheless took one of the lamps hanging to the side and lighted the candle within.
"As a gift, if nothing else. The young lord has a very keen interest with this place." And it wasn't like anyone was using it at the moment, after all.

"Yes, I will then. If it means it makes it safe for him to explore then it can only be a good thing." She would not see any harm come to her grand nieces and nephew. She followed Jinx down into the darkness, watching her step on the damp stone as they moved from the comforting cathedral to the dark world below. She breathed the musty air in deeply. "I can feel something down here. A stirring perhaps."

"It would be a shame to let this place go unused, after all." It was really a beautiful cathedral, all things considered. All it needed was some touch ups.
The cat led the way carefully. Some of the stone steps were a little more worn out than others. This was the part that they had not needed to dig out, and not much had been done to it.
"The door is quite far below us." Perhaps this was what the lady felt, or maybe it was Cerberus. She had never truly felt anything coming off from the beast, though perhaps such would be different for a god who was actively looking.

The goddess and host picked their way carefully down the stairs, hands on the cold, damp sides to ensure they did not slip. It was obviously darker the further down they went, more damp and cold. She had imagined that the door would be quite far below, the Underworld was a place for the dead, not the living it shouldn't be easy for them to enter, hence the guardians. "I hope he'll respond to one of us." She didn't fancy becoming dog food.

"He knows me." Hopefully he would remember, though if he had across the time of the fading, surely this would not be enough for Cerberus to forget who she was ?
"I might need to wrestle him down if he's happy to see us. That's how he says hello."

"Ah, that is good." She smirked a little as there was mention of wrestling, her host was strong, and had a sturdy build, she was sure she would be able to wrestle a large, enthusiastic dog. She also hoped that he would indeed be happy to see them and remember her too. "I will hope that he will be happy to see us."

"I would hope so as well." Being on the wrong side of Cerberus' jaws was not something the cat fancied, no.
They finally reached the bottom of the staircase, ending up in a large room. There were all sort of remains there, mostly containers of ashes that seemed quite old, and toward the back was a large door that quite obviously led elsewhere. "Puppy ?" She whistled.

Val looked around the room they were in, at the remains that seemed to be placed there. They looked forgotten and perhaps unloved. That would upset Isidore, she thought. Perhaps she would bring him down and they could do something about it. Her attention was taken by the door at the back of the room. Jinx called for the dog, puppy? might have been a bit of a misdescription, though she did remember the beast being quite soppy, if you knew what he liked.

As far as Jinx was concerned, that was all that Cerberus was - an overgrown puppy. If you were on his good side, at least. "Clearly we should have brought him lunch." What a lack of foresight. "Puppy ! Come on !" She whispered again.
Then the shadows near the door moved. The first black shape lunged and jumped Jinx, who simply let herself be tackled. This was how puppy said hello. "There's a good puppy ! Clearly you wanna play after so long, uh ?"
It was as the cat had said - each three head had become it's own dog. The second shape had not moved from the door, and the third padded toward Valyrmora, sniffing at her as if uncertain what to make of her. The three were independent, but did not support being too far apart from each other very well. They each were humongous, the beast's head reaching her own easily.

There was no movement, Val smirked a little at Jinx's observation and gave a slight nod of her head. Yep that would have been smart of them. Though she never pretended to be a brainy goddess. "We'll bring some meat next time." Jinx called for the dog again and something shifted in the air. She could smell him she realised, that doggy smell only magnified to match his size. She almost jumped as the black dog appeared from the darkness and pounced on Jinx. Once it was clear he was not about to rip her head off Valyrmora relaxed a hair and turned her attention to the other two aspects of Cerberus in the room.
One stayed put in the shadows, the other padded towards her and he was giant as she remembered. "What has happened to you." She said softly, letting the bolder of the remaining two approach her and have a good sniff. The goddess wondered if he could tell what she was, who she was. "Do you remember me?" She asked, knowing that he could not communicate in the usual way, but perhaps a sign. She reached her host's hand out slowly and reached up to run it gently over his nose.
The beast had guarded the gates to Nergal's half of the underworld, though she had a very clear vision of him in his true form. She could imagine that due to her nature she would have aided Nergal with his beasts, perhaps he was created or chosen by the pair of them? Of course it was impossible to tell. One thing was clear she would need to find a way to restore him, and another beast master would need to be found in Ishum's absence. 743

"Probably a good idea." He did not need it, not really, but good puppies deserved treats after all. "When they found him, they were like that, but the size of a little dog." She was petting the side of one head and that part of Cerberus was panting happily. "No one's really sure what happened to him. We figured the realm being destroyed affected him in some way."
Valyrmora would thankfully remain in possession of all her limbs. She was sniffed at a little more and then that one head barked and butted his head under her hand. That seemed to be about as good a sign as Underworld was going to get.

"Well, he's clearly been doing well." She smiled, scratching the nose of the one that had approached her. "I wonder if he will return once the Underworld is restored. If not I suppose three massive dogs could actually be more devastating than one, they can surround people. Do you know of anyone we might be able to ask to look after them, as Ishum has disappeared I'll be looking to replace him."
