A long, dragged out sigh was emitted, hoofprints marking the ground in a repeated circle pattern. They were the definite signs of someone lost in thought, one that was frustrated and clearly couldn't make up her mind. The thought was perplexing, the young filly unable to come up with anything conventional for the one question she held. But really, something as simple as this couldn't take much to do! It was just a simple gift, one that would be equal for all of her friends! Ah, but what could she do? She really didn't and couldn't buy anything with bits, considering she didn't really have any. But besides that, she really wanted to make something. Then it could be like a true present, from the heart! One that her friend's would remember forever, or at least she hoped.
"Uggghhhh!" She groaned, hitting her head gently with a hoof before continuing to trot around in thought. Why did this have to be so hard??? Surely there was something she could do. Perhaps the filly could consult in an elder for help? In fact, it looked like there was a little shop nearby...maybe it was worth a shot! A smile smile finally lightened up her expression, the little yellow filly quickly making her way to the building. Hopefully someone was home.

Candy had spent the morning preparing a holiday themed basket for a community raffle. Sugar bells, cranberries and other seasonal treats were frosted with glaze and sugar. The whole thing stood halfway to Candy Dandy's hip, and she carefully placed it on a rolling cart and into her large walk in fridge.
She wiped her brow with a sugary hoof, and smiled. That's when she heard a knock at the door.
The fluffy haired mare quickly looked down at her filthy hooves and grimaced. She ran to the sink, throwing her hooves under the water with a liberal amount of soap until they were devoid of grime. Then she went to the front of the shop, and opened the door to find a lemon colored filly staring up at her.
"Why hello there!" she said, backing away to open the door for the youngster. "I'm Candy Dandy! Welcome to my shop!"

Her hoof gently sliding up and down in order to move around a pile of snow, Salvo patiently awaited the arrival of the owner of the building. And soon enough, the door slowly disappeared and was soon replaced with the sight of a pink mare with a beautifully curled mane. "Hiya Candy Dandy!" She said with a nod, careful as she went in and looked around at the interior. "Woah...! All you adults surely have some nice businesses! Wonder if i'll ever have one..."
Drying her hooves on the front carpet first, Sal slowly made her way further into the store and stared in pure awe at everything she saw. There was pretty much all kinds of little baskets and boxes and even vases full of such amazing arrangements of food and snacks, making the filly's stomach grumble for a moment. Though her hunger was evident, this was not what she was here to do.
Turning around, Sal looked up at the older phony with a distressed gaze, frowning as she tried to figure out how to ask for some help. "Hey uh...I was wonderin' if you could give me advice for something...since I'm really clueless on what to do myself...."

Advice? Candy nodded eagerly, following the filly into the middle of the room. She looked like she was in trouble or something, a thought that concerned Candy. Hopefully she wasn't in over her head!
"Of course!" She said, leaning against the counter and looking at Salvo. "Is something the matter? Or perhaps you are confused?" She gazed at Salvo expectantly. The Voice of Time Sorry this is so short! My brain is fried today! orz

She dragged her hoof carefully on the floor for a moment, watching it move as she thought before looking up and nodding at the mare. "See uh, I wanna do this really cool thing fer my friend but uh, i'm not really sure what to do. I wanna make 'em somethin' as well, so it can kinda be more from the heart 'n such, to show I care!"
The dream she had was innocent sure but, if anyone knew Sal well enough, they'd know that she wasn't very well at 'keeping things together' and could occasionally mess things up. "I really need some help fer this, after all the holidays are just passin' us by so there's not much I c'n do now...and golly do I feel terrible fer it..."Blue Eyed Melloon It's alright, my brain hasn't been cooperating well with much of anything recently >w>;;

What a sweet little filly! Candy smiled knowingly, letting the filly finish speaking before she tapped her hoof against her chin. Then she pushed herself from the counter, and walked around it to put a hoof on Salvo's shoulder.
"There there, no need to get upset. It's a good thing that you came to somephony for help instead of trying to do something you don't know how to do. Of course I will help you!"
"Now." she continued, to say, releasing Salvo's shoulder and walking to where she had a list of food items. They were all of things that she offered in her baskets, listed alphabetically. "You want to make them something huh...how about a basket?" she gave the list to the mustard colored filly.
"Do you know what their favorite food is? Or maybe something that they like to do? A hobby or even their special talent? Anything you can tell me about your friend, we can somehow add it to the basket so that they know it's special."

She definitely did feel reassured when the mare had comforted her, giving a sigh and nodding with a smile. It was a good choice to choose this place, a good choice indeed.
Curiously, she watched the other as they went off to apparently retrieve something, her interest definitely piqued when the list was placed in one of her hooves. It was full of all sorts of words and names, most of them being things she didn't understand.
Though her attention was drawn away from the sheet quite quickly as she looked back up at the adult, giving a small "Uhhh" before nodding and thinking back to the friends she had wanted to get a basket for.
"Well er...let's start with Truths." She said quietly, almost as if to confirm the topic of choice to herself. "He's very...what's the word...adamant. Definitely now one to be swayed easily from his belief...and he's kinda harsh with phonies, but only 'cause he cares. Like, he'll tell ya somethin' straight up that you should change but not in any mean way...just so you can improve yerself. Not sure what he does as a hobby or what his favorite food is...uh...yea...sorry but that's all I got about him."
"Then there's Buster, and she's pretty awesome too. A little rough on the edges but, what else can you expect from someone that's a pirate? She get's real upset too if you make fun of her 'n her crew! Ah, but who c'n blame her? I'd be pretty sore if someone made fun of my friends."
She gave a thoughtful pause, looking outside for a moment and staring at the clouds. "Then...there's Wicked. He's a really shy colt, 'least at first. He's got quite a few cool ideas here 'n there but, sometimes they can be 'questionable'. He's pretty good at buildin' though, at least from what I can tell when we had our snowball fight. Not sure what else I c'n tell ya about 'im...hopefully that'll work? Those are the only two I really know...so yea." With that she looked back over at the mare, her lime-like eyes full of hope that they would be be able to help her out.Blue Eyed Melloon Sorry I took so long to respond >,<
EDIT:: Wait I forgot about Buster-- hold on a moment-- Ok, added her in vuv

The Voice of Time I'm so so so sorry I took so long to reply! I hope to be a lot better about this from now on ^_^ Candy listened to Salvo's musings, and her ears twitched when she heard the names of the various phonies that the foal was looking to create gifts for. Had she...yes, if fact she had!
"Truths? Like, as in Hard Truths?" she said, looking up from her paper after the filly was done with her ideas and Candy had circled a few things on the paper. Her excitement increased "And Filly Buster? The little pirate flutter?"
The paper went to the counter and she clapped her hooves together. "Wicked Stitch!? Oh goodness! You are in luck!" she said, mind already spinning. "I happen to know all of your friends!"
It was true! Hard Truths had come into her shop looking for something savory. Candy had invented a treat just for him! And Filly Buster, that little rascal had tried to steal from Candy until the mare caught her, and made her help to make up for the attempted thievery.
Wicked Stitch was at her Halloween party, poor little nervous foal. She hoped his confidence had grown.
Candy was beyond stoked. "I'll be back in just a moment!" she trotted through her kitchen, and into the living room that was attached. It was in this room she kept the baskets and various containers for her treats. She picked up a few chinese take out boxes and practically sprinted back into the shop.
"How about deese?" she said, dropping the boxes from her mouth. "We can create a treat just for them, and put them in these boxes!"
