Chloe ran. The clothing that she had managed to snag from a clothesline on the edge of the city was too small for even her slender frame so the shirt hugged her tightly while allowing her stomach to show. Still it was something to wear that was better than the moth eaten blanket which she kept tucked beneath her arms. It was her source of warmth in this winter weather and she was determined to hold onto it despite the weird looks that some humans had given her earlier.
Being human was really weird. She was still struggling to get used to the extra height and the different senses that came with being like this. Just walking and functioning normally was difficult. Every so often her body would lurch forward as if it wanted to crawl from habit rather than stay upright like a stick. Still she had enough balance about her that she caught herself often. Now she was just determined to keep upright all the way to the forest where she hoped to find her friends.
At least Kyllian may be there. As much as she worried about their constant arguing the girl was desperate to find something familiar, something to comfort her in this whirlwind of change. She felt too out of place in the forest now and even more so while trying to be with humans. She just felt weird, like a hybrid of freakiness currently that couldn’t decide on what it was. While she enjoyed the changes and the strength she felt behind this new body Chloe was still trying to adjust to it. It didn’t help that she got weird looks once people noticed her eyes as well…if it wasn’t for them then maybe…no. Chloe shook her head, she knew she was different and that wasn’t going to change. But that didn’t have to be a bad thing right? “Kyllian…” She relied desperately on his reaction. If he still accepted her then she could do this. That would mean that even as Chloe she was still herself and not a stranger!

Time in his new form had given Kyllian enough ease to walk about the city with a sense of purpose. His head was held high, his walk purposeful, and though he was given strange looks about his choice of clothing it was clean, pressed and warm. Living under the radar of Hewitt's law hadn't been easy, and now he was forced to grudgingly accept his help, at least until the day that he could strike out on his own.
It was on his way back to his house, with both arms laden down by plastic shopping bags that he saw a weird figure making a bee line for the forest. Normally he wouldn't bother with strangers, especially not after the incidents he'd had already, but this one seemed especially weird. The kind of weird that makes you want to stare and follow them even though you know it's wrong.
But, that's what he did. He trailed after her (he guessed, judging by the clothes) and when he heard his name dropped he couldn't help, but he wary. Was this another weird kid that had changed, like him and the Celebi? "Hey, slow down! S'not easy chasin' ya with this milk sloshin' around!"

Slowing down once she reached a familiar clearing Chloe peered around several trees hopefully, “Any-anyone?” She whispered before turning in a circle and finally hearing the kid who was trailing behind her, “Oh!” Her gaze wide Chloe’s hands flew to her face in shock. It was another Poke-human like her! Her surprise increased, however, as his voice and the way he yelled after her registered familiarly despite the different form. It wasn’t was it? Really? But the scales…the eyes…the eyes!
“Kyllian!”
Without hesitation the girl threw her arms around her friend and without success tried holding back the wave of tears. He had changed too! “It’s me! Chloe! I’m Chloe now!” Tears pouring down her face as she clung to him the scatterbug finally realized what she was doing and quickly jumped back. Her face flushed Chloe coughed into a hand and looking away quickly wiped the tears from her face, “I mean…hey.” She held her chin up trying to appear strong and proud, “I see that you changed too. You’re Kyllian right? You have to be him…I mean I recognized you.” Her gaze slipped away from his face bashfully before she peeked back over at him from the corner of her eye. What was going on that he had changed as well? Had Kole been affected too then? So many questions! But she had to remain her composure…definitely!

This kid was quick! Kyllian's clawed feet kept running, gaining speed as he went after his prey. That primal hunters instinct pushed forward in him, causing Kyllian to ignore any shouts given his way when he cut off a bicyclist.
When she finally stopped, he skidded to a stop, his cape flying around him in the dust. Brilliant orange eyes shone on his dark face, as keen as the nose that told him this scent was not the same as an average human. That scent...
"Woah!" With her arms around him, he couldn't do much more than stand, his hands still clenched around the grocery bags. His entire body was tense, and nervous. Was this really...? "Chloe? The butt weaver?!" Kyllian dropped his bags in shock, his eggs crunching on the hard ground. He didn't care that she'd jumped back; Kyllian gave a whooping cry of excitement and picked her up, easily lifting her off the ground into a spin before hugging her tight. "You're a Chloe now! That's a pretty name, butt spinner." He pulled her back, though his hands were still on her shoulders. His smile couldn't have been brighter. "I'm glad! Well, not that you're crying, but that you're okay. I tried to find you when I changed, but I couldn't. I'm so happy."
Then he frowned. "Why are you crying? And why were you running?"

Chloe placed her hands on her hips with a small frown, “Butt weaver really?” Still she instantly forgave him as she went spinning in the air. Surprise quickly turned into a heartwarming smile. So it really was okay! She had Kyllian here with her and she wasn’t alone. Her gaze shone as she held back more tears, but this time they weren’t from fear or sadness, rather she was just incredibly happy. Here she was standing nearly equal with her friend whom she thought she would never be close to. She flushed happily at his compliment before frowning again, “Butt spinner?” She stood tall on her tip toes before looking at him wryly, “Guess it’s good you can actually reach things now then Kyllian.”
Still the tease was light hearted as she looked back at him with her hands still touching his shirt lightly, “I wanted to find you! And I stopped crying…I was just so happy…” Her cheeks were warm before she turned her gaze towards the ground and pulling her arms back wrapped them around her body, “I may…I may have been a little lost so I ran here to meet you or Kole.” And she had been also scared, and lonely, and utterly confused! She peeked back up at him, “You seem to be taking to our change well. This isn’t a normal evolution I’ve ever seen. What do we do? I – I don’t know how to be a human.” And such a tiny human at that, a child.

"Yeah, hands are pretty useful, and you look almost normal." She was taller, that was for sure! Though she was still shorter than him, he didn't see any reason why Chloe couldn't pass for a normal human, with the exception of her eyes. They were her special bug eyes, though, and to him her freakiness was normal.
"Ya should have found Kole! So you two wouldn't have had to be alone..." Where was Kole, anyway? He hadn't been able to find the Pumpkaboo any easier than he had the Butt weaver. Would Kole be as accepting of him as Chloe or would he shun the both of them? He hadn't been very fond of humans to begin with!
Kyllian sighed, his eyes darkening from his mirth to a sadder light. "Well, I...Ya see, I found the old guy who got me out of the Fossil and he made me accept the change. If it wasn't for him I'd be back out in the woods with ya guys, but..." Sometimes he hated Hewitt for keeping him on such a short leash, but looking at Chloe, who had been cold and afraid, he only imagined what he was before. "Ya don't gotta be human; ya just gotta be Chloe." Kyllian took off his cloak, and wrapped it around Chloe's shoulders. "Come back with me. I got a house, and as soon as I'm big enough, it'll be all mine, not the old mans. He doesn't live there, anyway. Just me. We can help each other, and ya won't be alone no more."

Chloe let out a short laugh, “Well I’m glad you can see things in that light.” She looked up at him at the mention of Kole in surprise, “I tried…I couldn’t find him then I just ran into you.” She tugged on a stray strand of hair, “I just woke up a night ago like this…all I remember is being in the meadow wishing that I was a Chloe then a bright light hit me.” She bit her lip thoughtfully, “Do – Do you think Kole is okay? Do you think he got hit too?” Her eyes widened, “What if he’s lost and confused? Oh, Kyllian…” She twisted on her feet as if to run away looking before standing still in her spot. What could she do? Surely Kole was alright…they would find him right?
It looked like Kyllian really hadn’t had a happy change either. The scatterbug’s gaze softened instantly for her friend, “I see…I understand though. He helped you in a way at least.” She blinked at his comment and smiled quietly, “Thanks Kyllian.” Being a Chloe that was all she had to do? She could do that easily! …Hopefully that was. As his cloak draped around her shoulders she was instantly warmed by the warmth that he had left with it. It felt nice compared to the bitter wind that had been blowing all day and she couldn’t help but to hold it tightly against her petite body.
Her happiness faded though at his suggestion, “Live with you? Leave the forest?” She bit her lip hesitantly, “Let’s find Kole then I can decide…I don’t want to leave him out here alone.” She blinked up at Kyllian, “Alright? I want to be strong for you guys…I’ve got this.”

Kyllian exhaled and ran a hand through his spiked hair. "Maybe he did? I'm not sure, Chloe. I can't find him either, but that doesn't mean nothin'. He could just be hid up in a patch again, or snugged up in some tree away from the sun. You know how he is." He clenched his claws into the ground. Someday soon he'd find him, and when he did he'd make sure Kole was okay, just like he was doing with Chloe now.
"I'm not leavin' him alone neither. I'm gonna make the same offer to him, so you can take yer time thinkin' about it. The room's always gonna be open to ya." Well, unless he took in another stray Butt Spinner, but then they could always just share. The place was big enough for a whole bunch of Butt Spinners to share.
"Chloe, ya don't gotta be strong for us. Just be you, and we'll be us. Strong or not. Now come on, ya can at least stay the night. S'alot warmer there than it is out here."

Chloe slowly nodded as Kyllian’s words sank in and eased her worried heart. Still she couldn’t help but to imagine all the different things that could have happened to Kole or were happening. What if some kid had decided he wanted to carve a pumpkin even if it already had a face? Or what if he got trampled? Stolen? Pokenapped? Or what if he was lost? Somewhere out to sea after being carried off by a fearow? Taking a deep breath the girl had to force herself to listen to Kyllian instead of letting her thoughts continue being out of control. Kyllian was right Kole should be fine and if not Kyllian would find him…that was how it would be.
“Okay…” Her voice trailed off though before she looked back up at him. It was awfully tempting with this new body to take up his offer of a place to sleep, but she felt odd about it. Wasn’t her change supposed to be a time for her to be stronger? Less scared and more independent? At his confirmation that she was herself and not strong or strong Chloe found herself misreading his words, “Really? Do you think I want that?” Her voice shook softly, “I don’t want to keep relying on you Kyllian. I can do this. I need to do this.” She nodded her gaze firm, “I love that you have a place for me…I really do.” It really touched her that the guy was always so protective over her and Kole…the fact that she meant enough to those two really was something to warm her heart. Yet this was something that she was determined to do, “I’ll stop by, but I’m going to do this thing. Even if I’m alone a lot…I need to do this.”
Without Kole or Kyllian? Could she do this? But she had to prove that she wasn’t just depending on them! She needed to find her own strength and take care of herself…that was just what she needed to do.

"Seriously, Chloe, it's gonna be fine. We'll find him, and then everything will be okay. Ya gotta stop worryin' so much." Kyllian gave a little quirked smile, trying his best to comfort while finding himself in an awkward spot. In all likelihood he might never find Kole again, and if he changed like them, what if he passed him on the street without recognizing him? Wouldn't that have happened to Chloe, if she hadn't been running and brought herself to his curiosity?
"It's not relyin' if I'm helpin' ya." Kyllian's heart gave a little flutter, all out confused as to why this was such a difficult subject. She should want someplace safe to sleep! Even if it wasn't forever, why couldn't she just let him help her? He sighed deeply, and ran a hand through his wild hair. "I don't get it...but I won't stop ya. If ya need me, I'll be around, no matter what ya decide ta do."
He shook his head, and bent down to pick up his grocery bags. "Well, now, you're at least helping me carry these back and having somethin' ta eat with me. No arguments there, Chloe, it's cold as ice out here and I can make a pretty good waffle." Without really waiting on her to respond, he started walking, though he did pause to look over his shoulder, making sure she would come.

“Okay.” As much as she would never admit it Chloe relied so much on Kyllian. The girl never doubted his word and secretly had an innocent trust with the boy. If anything at all unlike how she always doubted herself Chloe never doubted him. She didn’t know why, but it was just how it had happened. Still she was determined to not let him get away with tricking her into anything.
So arguing it was then, “It is too if I get used to your help!” She crossed her arms, “I refuse to be a burden and I want to learn to rely on just myself, kay? I’ll be fine…I’ve done it before.” Her gaze went sideways as a little hesitation tried to show before she quickly shook her head, “Anyways…thanks. I’ve got this, promise.” Even if she had no idea about how to start out now that she was different, Chloe was still determined to change herself. No more hiding for her!
There he was with trickery again. Before she could protest though Chloe found herself carrying bags and quickly walking after him, “What’s a waffle?” She asked bouncing over some twigs to catch up with him, “It sounds funny, Kyllian.” And when did he learn to cook? Her brow furrowed in confusion. Just how long had he changed then? She frowned suddenly realizing that she had been so worried about Kole that she hadn’t asked much about Kyllian’s experience since he had changed. Well maybe I’ll stick around tonight…just to make sure Kyllian is fine. And not up to any tricks…I can do that. Nodding she realized she had fallen behind again and the girl started to chase after him once more.

"It is not, you stubborn girl!" Kyllian stomped his foot on the pavement, throwing his weight around like the old world poke'mon he was. It wasn't often that he showed his really stubborn side, but in this he wouldn't hear anything else. "You can do what you want, but if you're going to come by my place and eat regular meals, at least three times a week. One, two, three!" He ticked off on his hand. She couldn't go hungry with that in her belly.
Keeping up a brisk pace, he hossed himself back to the house in question, tail swaying at a gentle look behind him. "They look funny too," he laughed. "You'll just have to see it for yourself, Chloe. And if you don't like it, I'll make you something else." Even though he walked with a stiff back he was very much an innocent shoulder on the battlefield. He'd already been stuck in a situation he couldn't run away from, lest he should lose food for not only himself, but his friends. He couldn't help Chloe or Kole on his own, so this was all he had to go on for now.
Walking up to the house, a modest, older styled two story building could be seen. The yard was small, with a little fence in the back that bordered the woods, and a few neighbors around it. Kyllian walked up the side walk like he had multiple times before, shifting groceries to the ground, and put the key in the lock. As the door swung open, he stepped back for Chloe to enter. "Ladies first."

Chloe crossed her arms towards Kyllian in protest, but she kept her mouth shut. She knew better than to fight against him completely especially since he was already stomping about like this. Still her gaze slid to the side stubbornly and it was obvious that she was plotting against it. He couldn’t help her if he couldn’t find her for a while right? Her heart clenched in her chest at the thought of not seeing him, but she had to be firm about her decision, “If you say so, Kyllian.”
She just tilted her head in confusion. Waffles looked funny? What in the world was he thinking of feeding her? She shrugged, “If it’s not too bitter or sour then it’ll be alright.” She paused before mischievously adding, “And if it’s even edible…we’ll see how you can ‘cook’.” A grin flashed across her features, “You might have to try a lot though I may have picked up on it by then~” Cooking…she would have to pick that up for herself at some point. After all Kyllian couldn’t be the only cook forever.
As they approached the house Chloe slowed down in awe. She had never really been this close to a house before and now she was even going inside of one, “It’s bigger than I thought…” The whisper escaped her as she hesitated. But then determination crossed her features again and the girl took rapid steps past Kyllian and flew into the house like a blur.
There done. Not that she had gone far though. She was still waiting for Kyllian because she was afraid to go further without him. This place was kinda intimidating after all!

Kyllian laughed. Waffles as bitter or sour? Nonsense! She would love them, he knew it. There wasn't a being alive, Poke'mon or human, that didn't like waffles. "You shouldn't knock it before you've tried it, yarn butt." He teased. "I know it's not wrapped up in yarn or leaves or whatever it is you eat, but it's going to be good, you'll see."
Upon further inspection of the house the "furniture" inside was anything, but grand. There were milk crate in tables, a table made of nothing, but scrap metal, like most of the furniture. There were chicken wire lamps and a wooden couch with old stuffed up coats for pillows. He walked inside, stepping over several tools and bits of scrap laying around the floors. What had once been a modestly older home now looked like Hephaestus' playground.
"If you've gonna rush in like that at least keep going." Kyllian chided, setting the groceries in the floor of the kitchen. "And shut the door! The neighbors have a Skitty that likes to steal my cheese."

Chloe reached out to smack at Kyllian. Playfully of course since she would never really hit him...well maybe sometimes....but right now she just made a face towards him, "I eat just like you should...that is normal food not insects, Lizard tail..." She pouted at his pokemon insult towards her bug side. She didn't chose the pokemon she was born as after all...still he was always making such fun of her...the scatterbug flushed lightly as she looked away in protest.
As Chloe followed Kyllian inside her gaze widened. Was this what homes looked like on the inside? "It looks like a giant scrapyard place." She commented quietly before dodging a stray piece of metal. It definitely was a trap in here! Was Kyllian secretly trying to kill her? She glared at him through her bangs before smiling faintly. Nah, he was just a boy after all.
"Sorry. I'll remember that." Flushing even more Chloe skirted around the place to shut the door before heading back towards the kitchen. Keeping to the other as a shadow she peered around forever curious about what this house was truly like. It seemed so weird...so enclosed. Already she was missing the fresh air of the forest wind. But for Kyllian she would stay a bit...after all a promise was a promise.
She just hoped those waffles were up to par.
After all he promised good food and she was going to make sure he kept to those words!
