Aoi Hyacinthe wandered through the woods, looking for something to eat. She had found some different fruits, but they had all been inedible in some way or another. Under-ripe bananas, sour strawberries, and rotten oranges were scattered across her vision, making her dizzy. She finally stopped and rested beside a large tree, exhausted. "If only I could find some food...." she moaned almost unintelligibly. She thought she saw some orange clouding her vision as she drifted into unconsciousness, but the sliver of a rational mind that she had left reasoned that it was just another rotten orange conjured up by her exhausted mind.

Alyssa looked around as she wondered through the forest. She wasn't far from home and this place was a nice area though there wasn't much around here to eat. Whenever she came out here she always made sure to eat first so she wouldn't get hungry. She caught some sounds that sounded like words but it was so hard to tell. She ran towards the sound and watched as a cream colored horse passed out. She knelt down next to the horse and nudged her then ran off to get some food. She came back fast with a bunch of different fruits. "Here. Here is so food. if you can get up I can show you where water is."

Aoi stirred somewhat as an pinkish-orange mare knelt down next to her and offered her food. "Thank you...." she replied weakly, then took a bite of an apple in front of her. She then ate a good portion of the rest of the different fruits before her. Apple, orange, peach, pomegranate... she couldn't name all of the different fruits. All of the fruit were perfectly ripe, and restored her strength enough to speak.
"Forgive my manners... I was just so hungry that I forgot etiquette...." she stated to the mare, sounding slightly embarrassed. She didn't want to be rude to this Azrein after she had helped her. Even if she hadn't saved her, she wouldn't want to be rude in any way. "I'm Aoi Hyacinthe. You can just call me Aoi, if you wish." She was pleased that she was rescued by someone so kindhearted, as shown by her actions. If shedidn't know anything else about the mare in front of her, she wanted to know the name of the Azrein who saved her. "What would your name be?"

Alyssa watched as the Azrein mare stirred some what. She was very worried about this mare and hoped she wouldn't have to drag her anywhere. She didn't want to hurt the poor girl. She smiled and nodded her hair as the mare thanked her. "You're welcome. Go on eat up if you need more I can go and get it." She just wanted this mare to be ok and she would do her best to make sure of that. She didn't know who this was but that didn't mater to her. Someone in trouble was someone in trouble. She relaxed more as the mare ate the apple then some of the other fruits she had brought. She swished her long tail back and forth as she waited for the mare to regain some strength from the food. She had gotten all of the best and ripest fruits she could find quickly not wanting to leave anyone alone and defenseless.
She laughed and shook her head. "No need to apologize for manners you needed to eat and eat quickly not worry about silly things such as manners. Staying alive is more important and you were busy eating." She didn't want the other mare to worry about it at all. It wasn't that important to her she had been more worried about this mare being ok. "It's a pleasure to meet you Aoi I'm Alyssa. May I ask why were you so hungry you collapsed? Are you ok?"

Aoi was thankful that Alyssa, as she now knew her as, didn't mind that her manners weren't being properly used at that moment. She ate the rest of the fruit in front of her, and was happy that her stomach was satisfied. It was nice to know that there were caring people like this in the area, especially towards strangers like herself. She felt extreme gratefulness towards this mare, and wanted to express it in any way she could. But first, I have to get back into a healthier state, she thought, almost depressed that her body couldn't keep up with her travels as well as she wished it could.
Aoi then turned her attention to Alyssa's question. Why was I so hungry.... she mused to herself. She had been so busy eating that she hadn't stopped to try to remember why she had been so hungry in the first place. "Well you see, I was traveling through the area, and was hungry. I came into this forest to see if I could find any wild fruit to eat, but there was only rotten and under-ripe fruit around. I guess the dizzying sight of all the rotten fruit nauseated me, along with the fact that I was absolutely famished. That's why I passed out," she explained. Then she added: "That's the reason that I can't be grateful enough that you came along with food for me to eat. Thank you." She stated this humbly, bowing her head in thanks to the mare.

Alyssa watched the other mare and could see the gratitude on her face. She blushed a bit not knowing what she had done to earn so much gratitude. All she had done was bring Aoi some food. Anyone could have done it. It wasn't that big of a thing. She watched her eat the rest of the fruit she had brought. "Do you need me to get you some more fruit? Or are you ok with the fruit I got for you? I can get more if you are still hungry." She waited for the answer to her question and swished her tail around it was very long and she smiled at Aoi. Hoping to help her feel better she was still very worried about the mare.
She stilled as the mare spoke to her and tell her what had happened. She frowned as Aoi spoke about what had happened and why she had been so hungry. This mare must have never been this way before because everyone who had been here knew to eat before coming here. She looked around at all of the rotten food and nodded yes this place was full of too much rotten fruit and she wasn't the biggest fan of this part of the forest. "Well we can leave this area and I can show you a nice part of the forest where there is a lot of food and water. Is there somewhere in particular you are traveling to or are you just traveling for fun?" She touched the mare's cheek with his nose and smiled. "You are welcome but what I did was no big deal honestly."

Aoi didn't understand why Alyssa thought it wasn't a big deal that she had helped her. She had been all over the island, and most people she had met hadn't treated her kindly, and even those who had seemed somewhat kind would never have helped a total stranger like herself. I guess that's what happens when I've been around the southern part of he island too long.... she thought to herself.
Aoi had satisfied her hunger, and didn't want Alyssa to have to go all the way out of the woods to get her more, so she politely refused the offer. "I don't need any more food, but thank you for asking." She then thought about her offer of helping her out of the rotting forest. "Getting out of this area sounds great, though. Being around these rotting oranges is quite nauseating." She got up off the ground and dusted herself off. Her mane and tail still had a bit of dirt in them, but it would come out as she walked around a bit.
She then turned her attention to the question of why she was traveling. "Well, I was trying to get out of the south. I had found myself wandering too far down there, and it's not a very pleasant place to be, for the most part. I'm just trying to see if I can find a few Azrein I've heard of. I know the general location; I just need to get out of this forest," she answered. She was trying to get towards the area where Harmony Storm lived around, since Harmony was the only Azrein that she knew in the north. Harmony was nice enough, so she figured she could stay with her until she found somewhere for herself in the north.

Alyssa smiled at Aoi as she watched her very glad the food had helped her regain some strength and energy. She had been so worried at seeing the mare collapse. She really did think it was no big deal to help someone in need. If someone needed help she would help them out. it was just who she was. She watched her and wondered what had brought Aoi all the way out here. She frowned as the mare refused but nodded. "Alright if you are sure but honestly it is no trouble for me to go and get more if you are still hungry and need food. I hope that food was good and helped you out." She smiled hopefully. She watched her think and waited to see how her offer would be received.
She beamed and nodded her head. "Then follow me I will show you the way out of this place. It can get a bit confusing to those who don't know this area very well. And I don't think you being around all these rotting fruits is a very good idea." She didn't want Aoi to pass out again. She watched to make sure Aoi was ok when she stood up. She listened to why Aoi was traveling and where she was traveling to. "Well if you tell me the general location maybe I can help you find this other Azrein. Come on then lets get out of here." She began to walk out of the forest making sure Aoi was still with her.

Aoi smiled at the selflessness of Alyssa. Kindness was not the most common thing in the south, so it was a relief to find such a considerate Azrein. "No, really, I shouldn't eat more. If I eat more, then it would probably upset my stomach. But the food was good, so thank you. It definitely helped me out." She started to follow Alyssa out of the forest. She was glad she was following someone who knew where she was going, since if she was around these rotting fruits any longer, she would probably pass out again.
Aoi listened to Alyssa's offer of helping her find Harmony. It was an tempting offer, but Harmony probably wouldn't take kindly to another Azrein coming back with her. After all, she hadn't taken kindly to her when she had first showed up where Harmony lived."Thank you, but if you can just point me in the direction of where Lady Dea lives, then I know where to go from there. I know where to go from there."

Alyssa looked over at Aoi as the mare smiled at her. She bowed her head and shrugged. She didn't think she was doing anything that great. She was only trying to help. She nodded and smiled. "Ok Aoi. If you are sure. I am glad the fruit was able to help you. I wouldn't want your stomach to get upset since you are feeling better." She grinned and walked more. She made sure Aoi was with her and that the mare could keep up. She didn't want to go running off and leave the other all alone in this forest. This part sometimes got like this all rotten and she didn't like it much. She hummed as she walked and swished her tail to make sure it didn't end up in any rotten fruit.
She frowned but nodded her head. "Alright if you are sure you don't want help to find this other mare. Lets get you out of this forest before I show you the direction you need to go in to find where Lacy Dea lives." She grinned and continued to walk with Aoi.

Aoi relented to the fact that Alyssa probably wouldn't understand that helping people wasn't as common as it seemed. In the neutral lands on the island, you had to hope that the Azrein helping you was nice. In the south, you had a very little chance of someone helping you if you needed it. She followed Alyssa as they started on their way out of the forest. She was grateful that Alyssa didn't go too fast, as it was hard to walk quickly with the rotten fruit everywhere.
Aoi smiled apologetically. She knew that Alyssa probably wanted to help her further than the forest, but Harmony wouldn't look kindly on unwelcome visitors, and she didn't want Alyssa to get yelled at because she helped Aoi further than she needed to. "Thank you for helping me get out of here. And don't worry, I know exactly how to get to where my friend lives. She'll be expecting me," she reassured Alyssa. I think, she added in her thoughts. She wasn't sure if Harmony was still living where she had been when she had first met her, but if she wasn't, she was probably near Lady Dea's realm still. Aoi kept a straight face, making sure that Alyssa couldn't see her sliver of doubt. After all, Harmony had told her a list of places she could be when Aoi got back, so she would find her eventually.

Alyssa smiled at the other girl wanting her to feel better. She was a bit worried about her since the rotten food seemed to have taken an effect. She also worried if the girl had had enough to eat and drink. It was hard to tell if Aoi was really ok or not especially since she didn't know this one that well. She was very careful to keep her pace to a slow enough one so that Aoi could keep up without trouble. She was very used to walking around through rotten fruit even if she didn't like it but Aoi didn't look like she was from around here. Alyssa shook her head when she saw the apologetic smile.
"If you are sure you don't need help and know your way from the forest then ok I won't help you. And you are welcome. Though I wish there was more I could do to help you out." She chuckled and bowed her head. "I can give you some supplies to take with you and tell you where to find rivers if you like." It was at least something she could do. it would make her feel better to be at least able to help out that much since Aoi didn't want any more help.

Aoi was grateful for Alyssa slowing her pace somewhat to allow her to keep up. She was still a little weak from all the rotten fruit, but she was thankfully able to keep up with the somewhat slower pace. She felt a little bad that Alyssa really wanted to help, but she wasn't allowing her. Knowing Harmony, though, she would be really annoyed with another Azrein around. It was hard enough to become her friend....
Her thoughts trailed off as Alyssa offered to give her some supplies and locations of water sources. "That would be great, thank you," she told her, relieved. It would be nice to not have to worry about food and water for once. With all of the traveling she had done for the past while, she had forgotten how nice it was to not have to worry about such necessities.

Alyssa saw that Aoi was grateful and it made her really happy. She was happy to be able to help this mare out in anyway she could. It was nice to help others. She was also very glad to see that the other one could keep up with the slower pace. It gave her hope that Aoi could get better from the rotten fruit soon. She would have offered more food if she could but the other one had said she didn't want anymore fruit for now. Alyssa hummed under her breath as she walked slowly with Aoi. She made sure she didn't walk too close to too many of the rotten fruits. This wasn't her favorite part of the forest. Her favorite part smelled sweet and felt inviting. This part felt dead and hostile to her.
Alyssa bowed her head when Aoi thanked her and said that would be great. "Of course it is the least I can do to help you out. And there is more than enough food to offer you. Also telling you where rivers, streams, and lakes are is no tough thing to do. But you are welcome." She didn't want to make the have to work hard and didn't want to worry too much about her. She would be worrying about Aoi since that was what she did.

Seeing Alyssa happy made Aoi happy too. Knowing that she was not only not being too much of a burden on her, but was also making her happy made Aoi overjoyed. As she walked along with Alyssa, Aoi blew her bangs out of her face as she talked to Alyssa.
"You're too amazingly modest, Alyssa. It's a huge help to not have to worry about food and water." Aoi laughed a little to let Alyssa know she was joking around. Alyssa was very different from Harmony in that way. Harmony would tell it straight as it was, instead of trying to make something seem like it wasn't a big deal. Aoi still appreciated how Alyssa was, since it made her feel like she wasn't being as much of a burden.
