He'd spent weeks in Serenia... That was weeks with no communication home whatsoever... For all Sam knew, his clan had been completely destroyed (possibly with the help of a certain haughty crow-Drakein that Sam hardly trusted, despite his earnestness), something equally awful could've happened to his son (who wasn't really what you'd call 'loved' amongst his clan mates), or maybe the pack had just moved on *seemed unlikely, but the Gaili wouldn't rule it out)... Sam had to admit that there'd been some naggings in the back of his mind pretty much since he'd left. His clan was eager and excited to have him around, but for some reason, it only made the Gaili feel... trapped. Not to mention that he had a kid now, as well as a... whatever Levi was to him. He wasn't entirely sure. Stalker, maybe. The point was that there were just so many things tying him down. But as much as he hated that feeling, his home still called to him. He landed on the eastern beach of Eowyn with a shake of his head, sending his long, golden hair spilling around him. He'd been gone for weeks, what did it matter if he chose to stroll the rest of the way home? He'd heard two-leggers really enjoyed that 'sand-between-your-toes' deal. Sam hadn't thought much of it when he'd stood on four legs, but maybe the feeling would be better with his almost-two-legger feet. He walked along, leaving the beach behind for open desert, though he still had quite a ways to go before he reached his mountainous home...

Slumping along the sands with her nose pressed close to the tiny grains Kioda paused. Eyes flashed up as a shadow came into view, catching the outline of a strange figure overhead. Kioda's head turned to follow the strange beings path, licking her maw hesitantly. The creature was obviously a two legger, but with the sun on the other side all it managed to do was cast a shadow on it's features.
Displeasure rumbled through her chest as she straitened her neck towards the sky. Perhaps it was an oddly dressed two-legged bird. Pushing her wings away from her body Kioda forcefully jumped into the air. Trailing after Sam Kioda sniffed the air and landed lightly behind him. No, this wasn't a two-legged creature. Certainly not one of the blood thirsty birds she had come to loath so much. It was a Drakeinain, yet another one that had managed to succeed in the transformation.
Prancing forward eagerly Kioda bumped her nose into Sam's side. Perhaps now that he had reached the final stage. Orbs would fall out of him, he didn't need orbs anymore right? Maybe he would take pity on her scars and hand her some, that would speed up the process until she transformed... right?

Grrel was out hunting for food and some more nesting materials. Her small weird egg she'd found had hatched and she needed some food and bedding for the little fellow. It made a nice peaceful break after her many hunts and failed ritual. As she was pulling out some long thin beach grass she scented a familiar person... two persons! Kioda and Sameal! I hope that Sameal doesn't have that egg thief with him this time, she thought with disgust. What ever made him bring that thief to Eowyn? Lashing her tail she stuffed the grass into the handy bag she'd looted from a Magescian thief she'd caught and killed as he tried to steal an egg from her clan. Well, I'll go say hi since Kioda's there at least. With that she spread her wings and cruised along the dunes following the smells. As she crested one dune, she saw Kioda poking a tall two-legged figure with her snout. Where's Sameal? And what's... She stopped and hovered for a bit as she grumbled under her breath. Sameal had succeeded! That two-legger was him! Blast and be-botheration, I wanted to finish first! Oh well... She landed nearby and called out a greeting. "Morning you two. Guess congratulations are in order Sameal?"

Sam let out a pitifully shameful squeak of surprise as a rough, scaly nose bumped into his side. He staggered a bit away from the offender, before turning emerald orbs to glare at whoever had dared to assault him in such a way. As he glowered at the Drakein, a sense of familiarity washed over him, though he couldn't be sure from where. He obviously hadn't spent much time with whoever she was... And he was usually so proud of his memory skills, too... He resisted his previous impulse to snap at her, just in case it was a friendly type of familiarity he was feeling. "Erm... Hello?" He said awkwardly. When a new shadow spread across the sand, Sam glanced to the sky, just in time to see an orange, very familiar Drakein landing next them. Relief seeped into his scales. And as she landed near the green Drakein, recognition flicked through his eyes. "Ah! It's Kioda, isn't it?" He asked her with a grin. They'd only met once, and it hadn't been for very long, but it was these two ladies who'd started his very first venture through the Cave of Dragons with him. Yes, yes, he remembered now. With that mystery solved, he turned the majority of his attention on his orange friend (at least, he still thought they were friends, despite her very negative behavior at their last meeting). "Heya, Grrel. It seems like it's been a while." He chuckled good-humoredly.

His lack of answer caused Kioda to bristle. Was he really that stuck up in the end? Resisting the urge to growl the wind carried a strong familiar scent to her. Rising her muzzle to the air in search of the owner of the scent, Grrel. Turning her wings extended and she burst forward. "Grrel!" Kioda shouted eagerly. Rushing forward to greet her childhood friend.
It had been a long time since she had seen the older Drakein, and she had started to miss her. Prancing playfully through the sand with her tail and hind end wiggling excitedly with her wings tucked up against her side. "It's been forever! What have you been up too! Where did you get THAT, and do you have any spare orbs your not using?" Vibrating with energy Kioda nuzzled Grrel affectionately. The strange Drakeinain behind her forgotten for the time being.
He was useless for orbs, he didn't even give her the chance of accepting one. The pitiful creature. Rumbling her greeting she turned with Grrel to face Sam. So, she had met this one before? The name was familiar, perhaps she had only heard his name in passing. It didn't matter in the long run, what mattered what that he was now a Drakeinian and refused to share orbs! Stingy two leggers. Drakeinian's must start taking on the attitude of two leggers. Kioda wondered to herself, mentally taking note that she would not be that way once she made it to that stage.

Fluffesu Sorry it's dinky. Didn't want to put in too much since she just asked questions! Grel nuzzled Kioda. "It's a bag I grabbed to hold stuff. You can find all sorts of interesting things on dead bodies, weird sparkly things, cool magic, food, bags... As for Orbs. No unfortunately." She sighed and looked mournfully at Sameal. "I burned all of mine in the ritual. Failed though." She growled and lashed her tail. "So much power and I couldn't control it, so I let it go before it could consume me. How'd you manage Sameal?" She asked curiously.

Sam squinted at Kioda in confusion. He she just asked her fellow Drakein for orbs? They seemed to be pretty close, so that made it kind of okay, he supposed... But who simply walked up to someone and just asked for their hard-earned treasures? The whole point of having them was knowing that you could earn them for yourself! At least... that's how Sam felt about it... He decided to keep his mouth shut nonetheless. It wasn't really his place to question her orb-gathering methods... Instead he turned his attention to Grrel. He couldn't deny that she looked... different than when they'd last met. More... shiny, maybe? He couldn't help but grin at the thought and nod in understanding. He tapped his chin thoughtfully. "I don't really know." He admitted with a shrug. "I guess I just already knew I could do it... so I did. Does that make any sense?" He questioned with a tilt of his head.

Kioda snorted at Sam's comment. He was just as cocky as the first Drakeinian she had met. Thumping her tail against the ground with growing agitation she turned her attention to Grrel. "I've learned that two legged creatures horde and protect their treasure just about as much as we do. I met this strange female who had two of our kind with her. Ferocious little flea. Don't go wandering around Eowyn carelessly, she has some sort of soft spot for our kind but don't trust her! She did however help me get more orbs."
Felling like she was contradicting herself Kioda rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Nevermind." Snapping her eyes at Sam Kioda rumbled before speaking again. "Just you wait. One day Grrel and I will surpass you in power. Enjoy your fleeting moment while you can." She taunted.

Grrel glared at Sameal. " How's that supposed to be helpful at all? Maybe I should make sure to use less Kiandri orbs next time.. maybe my people's natural power is much more wild and harder to than the earth after all.." She sighed and then laughed at Kioda's words. "That's right, Kioda dear. You tell him! Though it'll be a while. I'll have to gather more orbs and try new magics and stuff to get more control. If I can control it, I should be able to survive and succeed. "Then she paused, a person with two slaves.. hmm, was that the one she fought and lost too?

Sam could no more prevent a scowl from rising to his face than he could stop breathing. For all his playful and cheery attitude went out the door when anyone threatened him, and this little Ysali beggar actually had the gall to taunt him? When he'd actually worked for his power, instead of asked for it, like she seemed to be going about doing. His tail lashed, and his eyes narrowed, but he bit his tongue, anyway. She wasn't worth his frustration, even if it was already coming to a rapid boil within him. Kioda hadn't been that nice of a companion the first time they'd met, either. But somehow, he'd expected more from Grrel. "Maybe you're just weak." He bit out before he could stop himself. Instantly, he knew he should apologize, or he probably never should have said it in the first place. But some vile, hissing voice at the back of his mind convinced him that the comment was well-earned. Grrel had certainly been a stick-in-the-mud the last time they'd met, too. And he wasn't going to stand by and let someone insult the whole of his clan! Earth easy to control... Feh! He'd like to see someone try and stop the earth from spinning!

Kioda could feel the pressure of her hackles rise against Sam's snapping tone. She and Grrel did not deserve that. She was merely mocking him, teasing him, but the more he spoke the more convinced that the final transformation did something to the minds of their kind. "It's not weak not to want to turn into something like you." First there's Rhazes and his egotistical scales and then Sam and his I'm better than you attitude. She was NOT going to be them, she was going to be a kinder one than either of them could possibly dream of being.
"I just haven't transformed because I fear of loosing myself and adapting this superior attitude over everyone. I have plenty of orbs enough to complete the ritual. And once I do, I'll show you just how weak your Gaili kind is to me." Digging her claws in the ground her tail rose in a dominant fashion. "I challenge you, after my transformation, I challenge you to a fight. Lets see who's the weaker one then."

Fluffesu Oh gods Grrel.. don't put oil into the fire you dolt! He's too strong... you'll get eaten.. but no.. you're arrogant and have to have your say, don't you? *sighs* Grrel's tail twitched at the tones of her companions. She growled at both of them, "We were just teasing you Sameal! As for weak." Her scales crackled with sparks and her eyes flashed, "Do not challenge me! You may be resistant to my clan's power, but I can still hurt you. Especially in that softer squishy form you are currently in." She turned her attention to her friend, " Yes he's certainly arrogant isn't he? Plus he likes those slavers who steal eggs, but he's not that bad a person. Or at least he used to be a nice boy." She sniffed and shook her head. "Sheesh, did you let your new power get to your head? I didn't come here to argue. I came to say hi. If you're going to be like this, I'll just leave and come back later."

Silver_tigress18 I know he's supposed to be mad, but I'm over here snickering because all I can see is fanservice. Fanservice everywhere. You can't tell, but he's definitely doing it. *cuddles Sam* Sam crossed his arms. He hadn't been so annoyed at anyone else in a long while. He wasn't sure why it was okay for them to tease him, but not okay for him to snap back. He didn't know anyone that actually enjoyed being mocked. It wasn't funny. He wasn't amused at all. And then there was something like him. Again, he didn't know anyone that didn't want to assume this form. He had a superior attitude because he was superior at this point in time. He'd succeeded where others had failed and he was proud of himself. What was wrong with that? "Fine." He hissed at Kioda, his emerald eyes glinting with his anger. "I won't be afraid of you then, either." He retorted. He huffed indignantly at Grrel. "And you used to be a nice girl..." He muttered, but he honestly couldn't have the same respect for anyone who had it out for children that could hardly defend themselves. He didn't like the Bond anymore than she did, but he wasn't going to blame kids for it. He shook his head stiffly.

Robot Kitten She's not usually this moody. o.o or hostile. She's usually very friendly. LOL perhaps he can Woo her in the future. Kioda rolled her eyes with a snort. Did this fool know he had just accepted a challenge that he couldn't possible win? "I look forward to besting you next time we meet." She snarled and thumped her tail against the sandy ground. She was not going to be a superior acting Drakeinian like this fool. "Grrel, I don't think this creature is worth our time. How would you feel to taking a wander through the cave of dragons with me? I can't wait to beat this one to a pulp when we are in an equal stage." Turning her back on Sam, Kioda pawed at the ground. "You're not invited two-legger." She snarled slamming her tail into the ground.

Fluffesu Grrel... you're already much more snooty than Sameal will ever be..... Grrel growled at him, "You try protecting your clan from raids that keep on happening and see how nice you feel like treating others. Unlike some people who apparently have time to ferry thieves about, I do my best to help the clan and keep all safe."She sniffed and turned away. "Going through that cave sounds like a wonderful idea, dear. Though I'll have to stop by the clan and feed some hatchlings. These weird mini dragons hatched out of some small eggs we found a while back. They speak a weird dialect of Dragon so I'm not sure what exactly the are." She chatted with Kioda as she left the beach. As she walked away she cast one last glare over her shoulder at Sameal. What had gotten into him? After I succeed in my ritual, I'll make sure not to get all snooty like him.
