Rules

1. Post the form below between [date] and [date] to sign up!
2. You may use whatever you can think of as a weapon - a rubber duck, a magic wand, an anvil, a Big Giant Sword...anything is good! Don't worry; you have no disadvantage if your weapon seems "lame." wink
3. At the end of sign ups, Yhi (with your help!) will battle the Winter Spirit Snatcher..
4. Each round the Winter Spirit Snatcher will knock out one participant (by rolling among them)
5. The last participant standing will have the opportunity to defend Yhi from the (now weakened) Winter Spirit Snatcher.
6. Don't worry, you don't need to be present for the rolling to participate!

It approached. The humans had gathered with Yhi on Cobar, because its community was most drastically affected by the oncoming winter. Desert-dwellers were unaccustomed to snow, and they would be more unprepared, therefore, for the creature of the moment. It exuded sadness - a strange phenomenon, considering its permanent smirk and cheerful red and blue colors. They were deceptive, Yhi had decided. Those colors could bring only pain and sadness.

It was the sort of thing that shuffled along on the ground in bursts, a mechanical "ho ho ho" echoing tinnily seconds after each pause. It knew a willing group of victims when it saw one.

One of Aljira Copernican's mighty defenders had come armed with a symbol of freedom - freedom from limited swimming styles, freedom from cold, and most of all freedom from the Winter Spirit Snatcher's evil grasp. The rubber dolphin squeaked mightily at the monstrous creature's approach. It went right for Yhi, of course - but O-Cherushii-O anticipated its move. "Avenge...me..." Rue breathed, slashing gracefully at the mad creature with the dolphin's tailfin.

It let out a dispassionate "ho ho ho" and jingled its bag. "Duck!" cried Yhi, and the defenders scattered as they did - dodging, as one did, a great barrage of toys with their seams loose and their gears misaligned and coal that tumbled out like popcorn. A contender holding a piece of toast watched in dismay as the toast was assaulted by the black remains of some fire past, and then could watch no longer for he'd been buried now in broken toy.

That, of course, let a different defender charge in from behind. Wielding a Technicolor flamingo with long untrimmed feathers and a squawk that awakened the heavens, she charged, leaping upon the Spirit Snatcher's back to give it a taste of its own medicine. The flamingo swung down, down, down and into the Snatcher's waiting devious maw, and Wingseagle took her very last fall...

Well, the last for this battle, anyway.

Yhi charged now, fearful for those who had agreed to help, tossing her boomerang at the Snatcher's porcelain smirk. It glanced off, though, doing little but shaving a bit of that large mustache. It turned with a great "ho ho ho," a mighty call that summoned...well, absolutely nothing.

Shrugging, one contender grasped the very large coffee mug she'd obtained from the Gaia gold shops, enjoying its heft in her grip. It was time to decimate that Snatcher. She threw the mug with an enraged roar and watched in satisfaction as coffee as black as the Snatcher's cold heart washed its paint away. It'd been covered!

The mug, though, fell short of its destination, and plopped unceremoniously upon the cold snow and sand. She gasped, running forward to retrieve her beloved weapon, and that was when the Snatcher struck back. It tore off just a small portion of its no longer white mustache and tossed it at Koohii Monsutaa - it worked much like Yhi's boomerang had, knocking her in the head and returning, strangely, to the Snatcher's face. Unfortunately it was far more effective.
