They had come out to play; just a little game of hide and seek that had lured them all into the forest. They’d unwittingly chased each other deeper until nobody was sure which way was back. Now with the sky darkening and the shadows lengthening as night settled in, the little group of foals were no longer having fun.
They were lost.
Noble Born gave a little flutter of his wings and looked up into the arcing branches. Somewhere an owl hooted. “Well,” the colt said, giving everyone a reassuring smile “looks like we need to figure out our way home.” He was not a confident flyer, but maybe he could play look-out.
[ORP for anyone after loyalty. They're lost in the forest and need to work together to get home!]

"I-I can't be lost!" Purl squeaked, her certainty in remembering directions fading by the second. She was afraid, not of the encroachment night or the shadows, but of the fact that she had gotten lost. What if she never found her way back? Shaking her man, she peered at the little phonies around her.
"Maybe if someone flies up a tree... or climbs... we can see? This is the worst." She looked around warily, trying to blame someone for their general lack of direction, but the trees seemed to gather densely around them. almost as if in mockery. If a phony were to fly up, it might be dangerous.

“Yes, we surely are lost.” Doom and gloom, despite that moments ago Revenant had been reluctantly (happily) playing along with the others.
“I glow, so at the very least we won’t be stuck in the dark while we’re torn apart by rabid animals.” That was almost optimistic for Revenant. He could manage to be a little happy too, at least he’d be useful. Or possibly get them torn up faster, as glowing might draw scary things even faster

For once, Lemma hadn't been paying attention to every minute detailed as they ran - she'd been having too much fun finding the best way to blend into the shadows and seeking out the clues that identified each phony's hiding place when she'd been It. And it had led them all...well, it had led them all to where they were.
That was pretty unfair. And unfortunate.
"I'm better at people clues than place clues," she admitted. "They're better for matchmaking!" (Her people senses were telling her that Purl and Doom were super frightened.) She tilted her head to the side, glad that her hair wasn't nearly long enough to obscure her vision. Well, a glow was good, and a lookout was better. Purl could probably do some magic, too, but Lemma doubted she knew how part the forest. Hah.
"We're not gonna get torn apart by rabid animals, though. It's...It's Phonyland. There can't be rabid animals here." Lemma was sure she sounded a lot more confident than she felt. Mommy had told her something about fighting off attack dogs, if you could believe that. But dogs didn't live in forests...right? "Well, if someone's gonna look out, I can look at our tracks. I know they're kind of...everywhere, but we can probably trace them to the beginning if we work hard enough." It was the best Lemma could offer - she was just an Earth phony. And she was good at following people, so she might be just as good at...uh, trying to figure out where people had come from?
Of course they'd all meandered in strange directions on the way here, so it'd be a lot harder. Maybe she could check the trends of disturbed bushes...

How could this have happened? Filly Buster didn't even like going on land, much less deep into the woods. If she had been paying attention, she never would have come so far inland. But she had gotten pulled into a game, and when Buster started a game, she played to win, and everything else fell out of focus.
Her prize, apparently, was being stuck in a dark forest with a bunch of phonies she barely knew. Not exactly something she could stick in a treasure chest.
"If there be sharks in the sea, there may be fearsome creatures here. Y' never know, mateys." Not that Buster was scared. It took more than being lost in the dark to scare a pirate. Even if she was lost such a long way from the ship. It was the others that she was worried about, and much as she didn't want to scare them, she knew they had to be prepared for anything.
She looked up, but the sky was obscured by branches. And though she would never admit it, she wasn't a good enough flyer yet to get above the trees. So trying to follow the stars was out. "If there be a river nearby, we can follow it t'th' sea." Which was her end goal, if not that of the others.

He found their fear exhilarating. However that was hardly a suitable emotion for a young prince and he never let even a hint of it appear. Instead Noble Born moved closer to Perfect Purl and gave her a comforting smile. "Don’t worry, we’ll be fine… and I’m sure there are no rabid animals lurking in the woods."
On cue there rose a mournful howl; the trees making it impossible to tell if it had come from close by or far away.
Noble felt a certain sense of responsibility for the little group and he wanted to get them all out in one piece. Once again he fluttered his wings, but he didn't make any move to take to the air. His wings being sewn on rather than attached by flesh and blood left him leery about flying at all. Best to keep to the ground and make sure nobody was seperated.
"I think our friend here has the right idea. We’ll see if we can follow our tracks." He nodded at Lemma and then Filly Buster. "And I’m sure I crossed a stream at some point, so if we find that we know we’re going in the right direction."

She peered curiously at Revenant. To be honest, she hadn't noticed the colt's glow, although she had noted his transparency. "At least some of us can be useful, that's a bonus." Purl shot Filly a weird look. "What good would the sea do us? Do you want to go night swimming?" Purl rolled her eyes a bit. She knew she was being a bit harsh, but the orange filly was frightened and upset. With a hmph, she flicked her tail, delighting in the absolutely perfect swishing noise. Her bready horn glowed briefly as Purl used her magic to ensure no hair was out of place.. The worst downside to being in the woods was looking less than perfect. Purl liked her life organized.
Surprisingly, this small grooming helped her to calm and conceal a measure of her fear. Despite this, she still shivered a bit at that howl. Taking. A deep breath, she spoke, and her voice was unwavering. "I am reasonably certain that I can from this direction. Perhaps you could check the tracks?" She gestured with one hoof towards the south, yellow eyes gleaming strangely in Revenant's glow.

“I wouldn’t be scared of the howling,” Revenant shrugged, head turning about as he guessed where it was coming from, “Wolves wouldn’t howl if they were about to attack. It’s likely one lost. Unless it’s just a speaker set up to create atmosphere.” They did live in a theme park, after all.
“We might as well just start walking. Even if we go in the wrong direction, we’ll hit the edge of the park and can just follow the wall around.” He sighed, looking back over to the foals, “But we might catch pneumonia walking that long. Or something else even worse.”

"Mock the sea at yer peril," Buster said warningly. Bad enough being stuck with these lubbers without being teased for it. If she had her pistols, even if they were only filled with water, she would have let off a few shots, just to show that she meant business. Instead, she tossed her mane. "There's no trees in the sea, just open water. Easy to see where ye be wantin' to go." The 'duh' at the sentence was not said, just heavily implied.
That filly was obnoxious- night swimming, really- but the colts seemed to have their wits about them. "Aye, let's set out. Even a wolf would have a hard fight against th' lot of us." Though the thought of getting sick was one that hadn't occurred to her, and one that she wished hadn't been brought up. Even a pirate could succumb to illness. She started walking purposefully, hoping the others would follow suit. Even if they were lubbers, they were better company than the chill night air.

The idea of them all getting some deadly illness during their trek was highly entertaining. "I'm sure we'll be fine." Noble Born said into the brief silence after Filly Buster had said her piece and started the march. "Let's be on our way." He smiled at the rest and moved to follow after the pirate.

Purl sighed and blew her bangs out of her face. Now that they were moving, she felt just a little better. Plus, Rev seemed like her kind of phony: level-headed with just a touch of fatalistic thought. "Yes, you're right." she said, more calmly. As she walked, her horn glowed gently and, after a few mis-starts, her tail began to braid itself neatly. Purl was always afraid of the yarn catching on something and frizzing. She looked at Rev curiously. " Wait... what's worse than pneumonia? ....no, never mind. Don't tell me!" With that she trotted up towards the front of the admittedly short line. Her goal was Buster.
It seemed like Buster had gotten quite offended over her observation. But really. It was the sea and she still couldn't see what was better about being lost near the sea versus the woods. Regardless, it looked like an apology was in order. A twig cracked underneath her. She looked at Buster out of the corner of her eye. " Uh," she said ingeniously. " I'm sorry if I offended you. I'm a little on edge. I hate being lost." Purl smiled weakly. Nothing was perfect at the moment, except her braided tail, and it made her want to SCREAM.
Should we start quoting in order? Would that make more sense? :00 idk

Oh there were so many worse things than pneumonia. They could get bitten by something and contract malaria. Or the plague, somehow. There were all sorts of stories of people getting lost and coming back with some exotic illness and then they have to be quarantined for half a year.
It was comforting to think about all that, even if Purl didn't want to hear. Nice and gloomy and morbid. Probably only comforting since he was a ghost and can't contract anything but the corporal cold.
The dark wasn't as comforting, though, even if it couldn't pose and real threat to him either. He had a good imagination and that imagination was excellent about acting up on him. So Revenant would stay close to the others, a little behind Noble Born as they began to shuffle forward.
"I doubt any creature could honestly bother us. Look at us all, a pirate, a ghost, a perfectionist, and so on. We'd scare any beastie right off." It was hopeful thinking spoken in a rather somber voice.
