A cool watering hole was what Aslan was on the hunt for today, and it didn't take him long to find one. The prey animals that were drinking by the water didn't pay him any mind, not fearing the lions of this pride as others might. They did look up in greeting before resuming their drinking, and he bobbed his head politely back as he dipped his paws into the cool water. He let out a sigh, easing his way in, making sure to stay away from the animals so he wouldn't send ripples of water up their nose. The Pridelands had been a wonderful decision as far as his new home went. He'd been here for a few moons now and he honestly couldn't remember living a better life than this. His belly was always full, there were always lions to talk to, creatures to befriend, and pretty females to flirt with. He paddled around in the pool for a few minutes to cool off as he thought, grinning at his memories. There were certainly quite a few females here he wouldn't have minded taking into a harem, but that wasn't how things worked here, he was certain. Still...perhaps he could convince one or two. Emerging from the pond, Aslan shook himself free of most of the water. That done, he moved to lay down on a dry rock, stretching out his limbs to relax. Yes, this was certainly the life.

Arawyn yawned as she trotted through the grassy pridelands, in a generally good mood. She'd been unable to locate any of her siblings and had grown bored hanging around the general area most of her family members stayed in. Which meant it was time to socialize!
She'd stopped by several groups of lions hanging about, all agreeable and pleasant. She'd not stayed too long at any particular group though, her paws itching to move and her brain seeking something a little more interesting.
She was fairly close to the watering hole when her mismatched eyes spotted the form of a relaxing lion on a large rock. She smirked and her body instantly shifting into something more suitable for stalking. She creeped along, grinning to herself. She paused, nostrils flaring as she checked the wind. Everything was good!
She took care to move in a stealthy manner, and when she deemed herself close enough she sprang forward, roaring as she sprang onto the rock. Her ultimate goal, of course, was to scare the stranger. She was already laughing as she spied the prey beasts scattering, startled by her!

Aslan was completely unaware of the female that was stealthily approaching him. He as far too intent on his sunbathing than anything. His eyes were closed, ears were back in relaxation, and a content small smile was on his muzzle. Just a moment before the roar echoed through his mind he caught the sound of movement, and he had time to open his eyes to get a good view of the lioness roaring over him. The sound and surprise appearance startled him so much that he rolled over, completely off the rock. His claws scrabbled at the stone for just a moment before he twisted, feline instinct helping him to land on all fours, but just barely. He remained crouched, mane fluffed up in shock, and he was still for quite some time before he looked up at he female. "Gods help me, I thought the end times had arrived," he said, his voice shaken but still somehow smooth and suave. "You have quite the set of lungs, my dear. Indeed, even the bird had stopped their singing after the ear-splitting noise had come up from nowhere.

She found herself laughing very hard when the male tumbled from the rock, letting herself fall to a laying position and rolling to her side from how funny she found it. She finally rolled over, edging to the side of the rock where she could get the best view of him. A cheeky grin was on her face, and she laughed more at his words, quite flattered to say the least.
"Yeah, you think so?" She chirped, obviously happy with the compliment. She grinned down at him, ears up and general demeanor friendly. "I couldn't help myself!" She stated, as some for of an apology maybe. "Anyways, hi! I hope you weren't trying to like sleep or something… cause I guess that would have been kind of rude… then…" Always one to think of the consequences only after her actions had already been taken.
Her tail flicked idly as she rolled onto her back, paws stretching out and head tilted so she could still see him, though now he was up side down. "I'm Arawyn!"

"I know so," Aslan said as he stood up a bit straighter, granted his legs were still a little shaky. He shook his head to un-fluff his mane and, by the time he was done, the female was on her back and looking at him upside down. Aslan smiled just a bit, feeling a bit more normal now that he wasn't falling off rocks like a cub who didn't have any sense of spacial awareness. Ugh...he wasn't used to looking uncool. "Arawyn...what a lovely name," he purred, trying to regain some semblance of cool. "Mine is Aslan." He tilted his head slightly, smiling at Arawyn at their odd angle. "I can't say I've seen you around before. You have the regal air of those born here, though. I suppose that means I haven't done a very good job integrating myself among your ranks." While it had been quite a few months since he had joined, he had only really come to know a pawful of lions. There were still far more that he didn't know, let alone that he hadn't seen. And it seemed cubs were popping up everywhere, too. It was quite the job to really feel like you were a part of a pride again.
