So I'm in a bind! Broke, and miserable right now in RL. Barely keeping things together and myself. Talking to a therapist for depression and just someone to listen while I'm in this HUGE tough spot in my life.
I just really want solitude to meditate and calm my mind. But I can't seem to focus~ Living in a small church going community, there is very little I can purchase for calming scents or gems and the like. Even just having something small in my sacred space (energy infused stone/talisman), which is also my art room~ will definitely help me focus and just get back on track with everything.
The best I can purchase with my location, are candles and scented candles. Uhm~ candle holders and that's about it. I so badly want to live or even vacation to a city for the sole purpose of purchasing wiccan crafts~ books, and etc.
I'm not a handy person other than drawing and writing, so I can't just go out and carve up my own stuff or find a stone. If I did find a stone and try to put a little energy into it, its going to be more gravel or cemented stone! xDD There is no beach here, just a river and its dangerous to walk along as the river is called "Rapid's of the Drowned" for a reason. sweatdrop
Apart from lack of shops for wiccan practises, there is no one in town offering yoga or meditations or anything along those lines. Just the regular massages and doula and prenatal classes~ //sighs. Definitely in a bind!
I was wondering if anyone else was in the same boat or has been! If so, currently or in the past, what did you do to get past this bump??

1.) Not sure how to move it. San?
2.) Next up, please check out the sticky on Wicca on our main page. Pagan and Wiccan are not synonyms. Pagan is a broad umbrella term where Wicca is a specific religion under the umbrella.
3.) As to the rest, you don't need pagan centric stores to acquire good supplies for your practice. Craft stores often have strands of gem and semi-precious stone beads, and some even have loose stones. The benefit of beads is that you can sting them together and make jewelry to your purposes that you can keep with you easily and surreptitiously. Also, you mentioned gravel, depending on your location, some gravel is actually pretty neat if you clean it up.
Also stones aren't the only things you can use for energy hold, or meditation. Some metals can hold energy pretty well though you milage may vary. I have a friend who uses coins for this purpose. Many people have strong color correspondences. Study up on those and get colored bottles/jars filled with colored water and place them in you windows. Make art while focusing on your intentions and needs. Sculptures, drawings, paintings, whatever. Collect leaves (I know it's a little late in the season), build something out of sticks. No really. find something, anything that appeals to you to work with.

Ugh. My handy skills are going to be tested here! xD;;
I'm really weird about my hands, I'd rather not scar them up or get premature wrinkles from hand crafts. O.O; Beading is cute, but I'm not very good at any of those.. //sighs. I suppose I'll just have to see what there is in the Northmart here~ they have some leather and beads and stuff. n.n Nothing special~ Mostly for native craftings such as moccasins or mukluks and leather works.

I bought all of my items online on sites such as etsy. I advise against scented candles for the smoke from these contain carcinogens.

Ones made from paraffin do, others may not - I guess the trick is knowing what all candles are made of!
OP, there are pretty much no spiritual shops around me either. I make do with bits and pieces I find in ordinary shops that might suit my needs - libation bowls, candles, incense, etc. Gifty shops and craft shops are good, as are second-hand shops. Everything else I buy online.

You don't have to do anything fancy with the beads. If they're secure on the string they come on then they can be used as is. But yes, you can also find many beads for sale online. I'm not even talking about etsy stores here Some sites are beading and jewelry specific, some aren't. You can find larger stones this way too if you like. You can even poke around amazon. And I'm pretty sure most of my suggestions don't really require anything strenuous of your hands. If you're not into sculpture and the like, that's fine. I suggested other things.

Also, what San said! Secondhand is good! Goodwill and St. Vincent DePaul and the like have a lot of nifty things. You could also go to the grocery store for some supplies. Salt is often used for cleansing, and if you are interested in scented type things, you can buy whole or ground spices. Also, many supermarkets (groceries and clothes, maybe more) are adding craft aisles, if you have any of those about.

Hmm. Well my town is small. We have a drug store, two grocery and dry goods stores. Uhm, candy store, liquor store~ corner stores and the like.
Drug store is great~ I like it there, but everything is so expensive. Candles and candle holders. Mostly all have a sort of theme. I wouldn't mind getting a christmas-y theme, but the others aren't my taste. Cheapest store would have to be a store called Fields, which is another favorite~ cheap candles and colours without scent and the like, but thats it really. Hmm. They have craft items too. Maybe I just need more time to look around the stores that I do live around.
Ugh, its so cold now though! I dont even have a winter jacket. gonk sweatdrop I have to layer all my jackets and sweaters~ Being broke too, is really hurting my motivation to use the visa! Probably end up paying that damn card off for a year after this month! Lol. Gifts and all.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS THOUGH~ I suppose in my funk, my mind couldn't think of these things sooner and on my own. I like having people to bounce ideas and stuff off of. <333 Always makes things seem more clearer for me.

Kuudere-senpai I'm really weird about my hands, I'd rather not scar them up or get premature wrinkles from hand crafts. O.O; Slightly off topic here but you'd probably freak out if you saw my hands - I have a habit of picking at the skin around my nails and so most, if not all the skin around at least my thumbnails is scarred to buggery. Not really one of the greatest habits of mine...

Yeah, between carving, wire work, and a lifetime of rock hauling and digging around in the dirt, my hands are pretty well scarred, particularly on the second knuckles. I also chew my nails.

I hate myself everytime I do the same thing. >.< When I'm stressed or nervous/scared I start to chew or peel the skin around my fingers nails to a point where I'm bleeding. sweatdrop I think the only thing I dont mind and am sort of proud of is the little bump I have on my right middle finger! Pressure from writing and drawing~ heart Lol. No idea what the actual term is for that, but there it is. :'3

Oh I know what you guys are talking about. I have one on my middle and ring finger because of how I switch back and forth with how I hold my writing utensil. It's more noticeable on my ring finger though.
