Tahigwa still wasn't back yet, and it was weighing heavily on Yaholo's mind. He hadn't been able to think about anyone else for the past three days, which was quite remarkable, because his mind had been preoccupied by another person for so much longer than his little sister. His worry for his baby sister's safety trumped everything, even the object of his affection. While he was still wondering about where Oulixes could be, why, and how he was in general, Tahigwa being missing made him feel sore.
Had he been too hard on her? Was he a bad brother to want her to grow up a little and stop being careless? His mother didn't think so, his aunt didn't think so... But still, was he wrong?
"Tahigwa! Come home!" He screamed, banging a few trees with his hammer. "I'm sorry I upset you, quit making me worry and come give me a hug! I miss you!"

Rastian had absolutely no idea where he was going through these trees. His eyes burned from tears, his clothes were doused in sweat, and his bandages had come undone exposing his wounds to the elements of the jungle environment. They were heavily infected and acutely painful, but he kept plugging along. He heard someone yelling up ahead! Who was it? He hobbled through the bushes and stumbled, before noticing Yaholo standing close by. He latched onto the other man haphazardly and breathed a heavy sigh of relief.
"I MADE IT!" He cried, shaking. "Yaholo, listen! You need to listen! You're gonna kill me!"

Yaholo nearly jumped out of his skin as Rastian suddenly appeared next to him. He studied the man and instantly grew concerned. He was a sobbing mess! What happened to him?! He took the Healer towards the side of the path and sat him down, before putting his hand on the other's forehead. Oh, Aisha... His skin was on fire! How did he get through the forests like this?! He placed his hands on Rastian's shoulders and gently shook him, making a sour face at the amount of sweat he was touching.
"What's the matter with you?!" He cried. "You're terribly sick, why would you travel to Jauhar in this state? You have to be insane!"

Rastian didn't process that he was being moved or that he was even being shook. All he could see was Yaholo's face surrounded by rings of blur that shrunk and expanded when he was moved back and forth. It nauseated him to look at his friend, but when he came back to reality again, he lunged straight for him.
"Please, listen!" He coughed. "Oulixes, that guy, in trouble, Zena! Go! Go! Forget about me!"

Yaholo clutched Rastian's shoulders as he spoke, his eyes growing wide. He... He had seen Oulixes?! His mouth went agape as he paused, as if letting the information set in. Rastian had traveled all this way just to tell him that Oulixes was in danger... His muscles tensed. No. Rastian. NO.
"I appreciate you telling me this, but I can't go to Zena right now, Rastian." He replied, staring the other hybrid dead in the eyes. "My life is complete chaos at the moment and I can't leave..." He paused, really gazing in Rastian's eyes, and scooped the other man up. "I'm getting you to a trained healer right away, you look like you're about to die!"

Rastian's eyes grew wide and filled with tears as he was simply scooped up and carted away. He had traveled all this way for nothing... What kind of idiot was he?! He buried his face in Yaholo's shoulder and sobbed. His friend hit it right on the nose, he was dying, and it was all because of how stupid he was! He should have stayed home, rested, eaten, taken his time to heal like his intuition said he should! But, no, he had to be paranoid and take off into the unknown, again!
"No..." He muttered. "Just leave me here, I... I shouldn't be alive anyway."

As if Rastian's words were a spell, Yaholo froze in place. The Massif adjusted Rastian so that he would be staring right at Yaholo, and gave him a very serious face. Why was he talking like this? Didn't he know how much his family loved him? Did he know how much Yaholo valued him as a friend, too? His own eyes started to garner tears and he shook his head and raced forward.
"I won't leave you, Rastian!" He shouted. "I don't care how sick you are or how depressed you are, I'm going to get you somewhere safe where you can be healed! Mark my words!"

While Yaholo ran forward, Rastian allowed his body to finally relax in the other man's arms. He was with someone he could trust, he could calm down now...
---
When he awoke, he was in a strange room, which looked like to be a part of a hut. His eyes were still too cloudy to see much of anything, even when a light was shown directly in his face. He waved his hand weakly to shove the light away, only to have his hand grasped in return.
"Yaholo? Is that you?" He asked glancing around. "I can't see with that light... Can you block it or something...?"

The room was quiet for moment, aside from some soft rustling from the other side of the room. However, eventually, the shuffling grew louder and louder...
"Rastian! Can you hear me?!" Yaholo screamed, his voice slightly muffled by the noise. "Susuya says that you shouldn't focus on the light! Think about your family or something that makes you happy!"
His voice was followed by further noise and some muffled sobs, but nothing much else.

Rastian thrust his arm outward in hopes of grabbing onto Yaholo again, only to be grasped by a smaller, gentler hand. His eyes spun around in search of the hand that had grasped him back, but he couldn't see it, in fact, he couldn't see anything! Was this how someone died? They floated endlessly in a noisy, monochromatic place? He grasped the hand that held him tightly and felt it grasp him back. It felt like a child's hand, but a strong one. Who was there with him besides Yaholo?
"I can't see you! I'm scared!" He called. "Who's holding my hand? Where am I?"

The shuffling noise softened and gradually lifted. Several voices could be heard chattering in what seemed like circles, mumbles both high pitched and low resonating together like a lulling symphony. A short, girlish voice, an older womanly voice, Yaholo's voice, and some lower toned voices that were unrecognizable.
"Elder Susuya is doing all she can for you, Rastian!" Yaholo cried, placing his hand on Rastian's forehead. "Please, move your hands, blink, do something to let us know you're still with us!"

"But I am moving!" Rastian screamed, waving his hands around in the air. However, as he did, he realized that he couldn't actually feel his body moving as he reached forward. It was as if his body was simply made of energy...
... He wasn't talking to them at all, was he? He was... Comatose.

As Rastian realized where he was in this predicament, the entire realm went silent, all except for the occasional scream and cry from those on the other side.
"Come on, Rastian!" Yaholo screamed. "Think about Viveka, your brother! Natsu, Ogbonna! Think about how important you are to them! Don't give up this easily!"

Think about how much he meant to his family... Rastian stood up from his position in front of the light. Yaholo was right. He was worth something to his family in Mez. They were the only family he had, they loved him through everything, no matter what. He couldn't give up on them by giving up on himself!
"I'm coming back! Keep calling for me!" He replied, racing towards where he had heard Yaholo yell.

The voices grew stronger the further that Rastian ran forward. Other noises began to become part of the cacophony of sound. Glasses clinking together, pages being turned, and footsteps pacing around a room.
"I think he can hear me!" Yaholo cried. "Rastian, I see your toes moving, don't you dare turn back now! I'll never forgive myself!"
