She wasn't quite sure where here father had ended up recently, since she'd told him she was going on her own little adventure and he said he was going to travel for a few days. But for a mare that couldn't stay still for too long, this was just fine by her! Alarion loved her time exploring alone. She felt much more free spirited and like she wasn't holding her father back from whatever it was he wished to do.
Not that Sandy would ever say anything like that to her.
But she kind of suspected it lately.
Shaking her mane out of her face, the not so graceful mare flapped her wings hard as she came in for a landing, having glided from a hilltop down to the opening in the trees she found. Her pupil-less eyes were wide as she looked around, tucking those obnoxious feathered appendages against her sides tightly. "Woah... " She murmured, tilting her head and looking strangely at a... tree. It had funny markings on it she was trying to decipher. Like one of the two-legs had carved something in it.
The snap of a branch some distance off startled the mare and she froze, head whipping about to see what had caused it. "Helloooo?" She called out hopefully. She did like meeting new soquili.

How long had he been traveling? It felt like days but for all he knew it could have been weeks. Each day he would find someone to share a story with and they would provide one in turn. It was all very interesting and his use of the common Kawani tongue was becoming better and better, he still had his accent but he no longer reverted to his native tongue while talking to a stranger unless he was flustered or wanted to add emphasis to his stories. He had traveled long distances since leaving his herd the Asgina Kanehelvsgi. Since then he had fallen in love and had two beautiful daughters, the love for the mare did not last, but the love for his daughters was constantly in his heart. Aderyn had traveled with him for a bit before casting off and starting her own adventure. He missed her everyday but knew that she was having the time of her life living her own story.
His pace slowed when he noticed a pale mare staring at a tree. His hoof came down and snapped a twig, notifying the mare of his presence. “Hello there! Lovely day is it not?” His voice was smooth with the hint of his native accent, but yet eloquent in his pronunciation.

Alarion blinked owlishly at the stallion that made himself known, wondering how long he might have been watching her. And then there was a lovely little flush that colored her pale cheeks as the thought of him thinking her strange for staring at a tree crossed her mind. "V-Very lovely!" She managed to get out in a voice that was not quite a squeak. And then she bashfully ducked her head, a smile forming along her features. "It's my favorite type of day. Not too warm but not freezing either. Just right. And the scent of the trees surrounding you." She stepped away from the tree, a curious look forming. "Are you from this area?" He seemed to have a strange accent. One she'd never heard before. Of course, she'd never met anyone that was not originally from the Kawani lands! "You have an accent." She added, as if for explanation to her question.

Adonvdo smiled at the mare, “Sorry, I did not mean to startle you.” His citrine eyes looked at the tree that the mare was staring at so intently. It was interesting, the bark had strange natural markings on it that seemed to move if you stared to long at it. Nature was truly an amazing thing, to create such things that can grasp the attention of those wandering pass. His gaze returned the mare when she asked her question, “I am not from this area, I tend to travel quite a bit, collecting and telling stories where ever I have been.” He laughed, “That I do, I have only been in Kawani for a few years now, orginially I came from a herd who have stories etched into their coats like I do. We are known as the Asgina Kanehelvsgi. Or Scary Story Herd. Each of our coats have a haunting tale and each are special for the individual who bears it.”

She gave him a sheepish look at having been caught by surprise so visibly. It took some effort to keep from looking back at the tree and not stay focused on the stallion. At least until she got a look at the stallions coat. It was so beautiful! "It really is alright. I shouldn't have been so blind to my surroundings." She smiled, moving away from the tree so it was less of a distraction. Her ears perked up at mention of traveling. That was something she could understand! "You like to travel too?" And collecting stories. How fantastic!
Alarion's eyes widened in fascination as she looked at his coat once again. "Really? And each member of your heard has a coat such as yours?" Each with their own stories?! "May I ask... what story yours tells?" Was that an alright thing to ask one such as them? She didn't want to be rude! But her curiosity was getting the better of her!

Adonvdo gave the mare a bright smile, “Traveling is all I have been doing since I first entered this land. It is quite astounding seeing all the different lands and how those lands influence stories.” The stallion nodded his head, excited that this mare wanted to hear his story, “I would love to share my story of my coat with you.” The story teller shifted, getting comfortable, wishing that it was dark for it would be the perfect setting for the tale he was about to weave, “In a far distant land ancient bones gleam white beneath the stars, in stark contrast to the dark cursed dirt that binds them to this world; many moons had passed and the bleached bones had never received a proper burial, which would have appeased the spirit. But the bones belonged to a being filled with U-so-nv-I, evil, who was betrayed by his own brother, who left him to rot upon the lifeless hill, the Evil One’s body picked clean by scavengers of black wings. His death cursed the land that possess his bones, for even though his body long gone, the s-gi-na or bad spirit still haunts his last resting place, and bestows upon those who dare trespass a deadly A-s-g-i-na-di –s-di, curse.
The moon spirit Geyaguga had been watching deaths that transpired from the curses that the s-gi-na placed upon those who dared disturb him and the wise spirit determined that it was time to intervene; Geyaguga sent one of its best a-da-nv-do di-tli-hi, a spirit warrior who took the form of a cat with a coat black as night and eyes as yellow as the sun’s glow, to banish the u-so-nv-i presence. It was a daunting task that even the most skilled Spirit Warrior would have difficulty in accomplishing, but the cat was not an average Spirit Warrior. Landing upon the hill with his soft black paws, it was intercepted by the s-gi-na, a cloud of blackness and death surrounded the Bad Spirit like a shroud, a substance, having the same density as tar leaked from its open maw, dropping to the earth with toxic ooze. The snarl that appeared on the s-gi-na’s face was one twisted with years of hatred, his voice was raspy from lack of use, ‘o si yo Di-na-da-nv-tli, hello brother.’
Yellow eyes stared at the being that had once been a brave warrior of the tsa-la-gi-yi, there was nothing left of the warrior, only the noxious demon that had replaced him, ‘I have not been your brother since decided to commit evil upon the u-ne-qua. Do na da' go hv I, good bye spirit who used to be my brother.’ With his last words he opened his mouth sharp teeth reflecting the light of the moon as he swallowed his brother whole, banishing him into the dark abyss of the spirit realm. The evil being was gone, but the curse still remained, and now that it no longer had the s-gi-na to watch it and absorb its evil energy, the curse spread across the land, creating destruction in its wake. Geyaguga, or a being that had the appearance of the great moon spirit cackled in delight of the plight the earth faced and sitting beside him, a being with bright yellow eyes looked at the devastation with a wide gruesome grin."
The story teller looked over at the mare with the completion of his tale, he reverted back to the Cherokee words that had used before when he first told the story of his coat for it would not be the same without it.

Moving so she could have a good look at him, Alarion was quite excited that not only did this stallion travel like she did, but he was going to share the story imprinted on his coat! It was such a fascinating concept to the mare, so used to a Soq's coat simply having markings. Not a story unique to them! Alarion grinned at Adonvdo, letting herself get settled in for the story he was about to share. And it was quite a story! Her eyes widened as he began, feeling a small gasp of breath escape as mention of the Evil One's body being scavenged. And a deadly A-s-g-i-na-di-s-di being placed.
Her wings ruffled a little as she resettled them closer to her body, listening as Adonvdo continued, letting her wings add comfort to the chilly tale. It probably was a good thing - for her at least - that it was not dark. Or she may have had a long, sleepless night.
Alarion found herself inching a little closer, ears flattening at the description of the s-gi-na. She could just picture it herself, gooseflesh raising along her hide. "What did the a-da-nv-do di-tli-hi do?" She couldn't help but whisper before Adonvdo continued. Then she sucked in a breath, eyes wide and clearly having gotten into the story. "I don't think I will ever look at the moon the same again... " She murmured sheepishly, ducking her head a little and attempting to not hide it beneath a wing.
"T-That... wow." The mare looked along his coat, able to see the story he told much more clearly. "You're herd must be amazing to have such gifts!"

He was not sure if she still wanted the answer to the question she voiced so quietly as he weaved the tale of his coat. “It was a terrible curse, those who stepped foot upon the land would fall under the Evil One’s spell, their souls would leave their bodies and they would only be husks of themselves that could do nothing but the will of the Evil One. Forever they would wander until their body’s gave out or were slain by those who recognized them as the soulless creatures they were. He bowed his head in thanks to her praise, “They are a great herd, each with their own story telling style. We would sit beneath the full moon and tell our stories. In the beginning we would learn of the tails of their coats, and others we learned stories that they created from dreams.” He looked at the clear sky, the next full moon was still a fortnight away, in that moment he longed for home. “Do you have any interesting stories to tell? Perhaps if you allow me, I can add it to my repertoire?”
