Cait slowly walked downstairs, yawning. She knew it was Thanksgiving day, but last night had been long, and even the ritual of showering and dressing and letting Lila do her hair up really cute and picking out cute clothes wasn't enough to really fix what was wrong.
Still, she was going to drink all the coffee in the house if she had to to pep up, because everyone was coming over and goddamnit, she was going to be cheerful.Lila was humming to herself excitedly, already sitting on the living-room couch. Thanksgiving, as far as she was concerned, was a perfect time to introduce Serenity to the family - after all, everyone had to play nice anyway! Not that she was worried.
"One of your friends is here already, Cait," she said lightly when she saw her sister come down the stairs. "In the kitchen."Saint Sergio MASSIVE THANKSGIVING PARTY?

In the kitchen, was in fact, Lance. The blonde had been there for god knows how long at this point. He had a smear of what appeared to be flour on his cheek as he helped Caitlyn's parent's prepare everything that was needed. "Alright, apple and pumpkin are both done and in the oven. What do you need me to do next??"

She was... late. She was always late, but Serenity was late for a reason this time. The reason being she was nervous as all hell. Meeting her girl friend's family for the first time on a major holiday was scary! Not to mention the fact she was still sore from a battle with some mysterious lieutenant woman recently. The bruises were all covered by the thick, over sized sweater she was wearing over some tight leggings and a pair of boots, but it didn't mean it didn't hurt if she moved a certain way.
The short, white haired girl looked at the door and then scrubbed a hand over her face before finally bringing herself to knock.

Cait shuffled into the kitchen, frowning a little. "Lance what are you doing." She asked, which was the same non-question she posed every year on Thanksgiving because Lance was always there early and always cooking. She dodged around her mother and her best friend for a coffee, and smiled fondly. Lance and Gabriel were as much family as her actual siblings - it was only approrpiate that they be here. "Is Alistair coming?" She asked.
Cait's mother gave Lance a warm smile. "I need you to go socialize," she replied, "I have the rest under control."Lila heard the knock at the door and practically rocketed off the couch. She was very rarely antsy, but damn it, she really liked Serenity and she wanted her girlfriend to make a good impression on her parents. She took a minute at the door to compose herself and then opened it, giving the girl on the other side a warm smile. "Hey, Serenity. Come on in!"

"Uuuuuh helping Mom? We go through this every year Cait." He laughed, watching as she got her coffee. "He should be? Thooooough I kinda didn't tell him I was already here." The blonde smiled sheepishly. Lance blinked, turning his head just in time to watch the flurry of feet that was Lila storm across the hall to open the door. "....Uh.. Are you sure?" Lance said, slowly turning from where Lila had just been to face Cait's mother. Socialize? No one was here yet... other then whomever had just cause Lila to zoom across the place. "Do you know when Gabriel's showin up??"

Before she could fret too much, the door was opened and her girlfriend's smiling face appeared. However, she heard all the commotion in the house and Serenity couldn't help but laugh a little and marvel. Her own Thanksgivings were so quiet, just herself, mother and father. No one else ever showed up. Then again, her parents never went out of their way to include other family members. Maybe they just assumed they would come over or something, but....
"Ah.. Thank you for inviting me," she murmured, stepping inside with a little shiver. It was cold outside! "...So am I going to be meeting everyone?" Her eyes were wide, still, at all the voice she'd heard.
