Visual Appearance:

(( It's really hard to find any African girls in Anime! This is the best I could find. If anyone wants to draw her, let me know. ))
Height: 5' 4"/162.5 cm
Weight: 132 lbs / 60 kg
Hair: Prematurely greying, with a tight, somewhat frizzy curl that she usually keeps in a cascade of tight, small braids
Eyes: Grey-blue
Skin: Dark brown
Voice: Alto, with a noticeable Spanish accent
Clothing and style: Juni wears the boy's uniform from Ouran, rather than the girl's uniform, when she's in uniform. She keeps her hair out of her face with an almost perpetual bandanna of any one of a dozen colors, and usually either has her smart glasses on her face or sitting on top of her head, held on by her crinkly masses of hair. On the weekends, or when she goes off campus, she tends to wear dark cargo pants and baggy shirts with art on them. She can and does clean up well for formal occasions, but getting her into a skirt requires special circumstances or persuasion.
Personality
Overall personality: As a marked foreigner and still struggling to master Japanese, Juni tends to be quiet in a crowd unless she feels she has something important to say; she is content to listen to others talk, and play a supporting role in most things. When she makes friends, she is very loyal to them, but she will usually try to stay at a more professional, superficial layer initially, until she gets a gauge of the person. Since gaining closer friends, she is more prone to opening up to strangers. Online she is a holy terror on the chat boards when she gets pissed off; in person, she is quieter. She can be impetuous, but she hates hurting people with a passion. She is stubborner than mule.
Likes: STEM, particularly math and computers - programming them rather than using them; puzzles, classical music, spiced/flavorful food, good coffee, astronomy (for fun), running
Dislikes: Arbitrary decisions, sexism, being the center of attention of a crowd, cheating, bullies, her own lack of vocabulary
Strengths: Willpower and determination, math and science, compassion
Weaknesses: A tendency toward obsession, a reluctance to rely upon others for help, a certainty that she will be seen as odd/weird by people she doesn't know.
Fears: Getting cancer like her mother, that something bad will happen to her father, earwigs, being trapped and helpless
Strange Gestures and Obsessions: Juni has only been learning Japanese for a year and a half, and only been speaking it daily for nine months; she loses vocabulary from time to time, and her grammar gets broken when she's tired.
Social Life
Family History: Juni's mother and father met and married quite young, but her mother extracted a promise from her father that they would not start a family until he could pay attention to it; thus, she continued her volunteer work with the Colombian ballet company, while her father got his PhD and also worked with his father and brother to expand Corazon Coffee to gain niches in foreign markets. (Her grandfather had already gained preeminence in Colombia.) During this time, Juni's paternal grandfather died of a heart attack brought on by smoking in his youth, and general stress, leaving the company to Juni's uncle Alberto. A few years later, Alberto finished consolidating his holds, and her father finished his dissertation, satisfying the promise he'd made to his wife. Shortly after that, Juni was born; unfortunately, Juni's mother developed ovarian cancer shortly after she was born. Although she did eventually go into remission, Juni was of necessity an only child. She was cherished and loved by both her parents and her extended family on both sides, and her cousins did their best to make up for her lack of siblings by including her whenever possible. When Juni was eleven, her mother developed bone cancer which metastasized quickly enough that everyone knew it wasn't going to be beaten. They moved in with Juni's maternal grandmother (the famous Abuela of the hot sauce) to make certain the family could spend as much time together before her mother passed on. She mother died in the fall after her twelfth birthday. Juni and her father grieved for several years, but have done their best to move on. Her father (a mathematics professor) was offered a teaching-and-research position at a Japanese university for three years; she and her father moved to Japan just prior to her beginning attendance at Ouran.
Personal History: Juni grew up something of a tomgirl - she ran with her cousins in skirts and jeans and long hair all over Colombia, riding, exploring, and then coming home to tell her parents all about it. It was due to these experiences that she learned to shoot, perform parkour, and gained her althetic prowess. At the same time, her father tutored her early in mathematics and encouraged her exploration of the computer science field. Her uncle and cousins also supported her, to varying degrees. Once she got online, Juni discovered there was a lot of overt and covert sexism, and determined that she wasn't going to let that stop her; she made her first contribution to the open source community at the age of twelve.
Hobbies: Hacking around on computers, a LOT; modeling economics with computers; parkour (but only when she thinks she won't be caught), more recently, learning to cook Colombian food to assuage some of her homesickness
Primary School, Middle School, and Extra-School Activities: She attended private school in Colombia prior to Ouran. She runs on Ouran's cross-country team.
