It's been years since Ash and May went their separate ways, and May still hasn't gotten over him. She thinks about him every night before she goes to sleep, and once a month she takes a walk to the cliff where they first met. However, the last thing she expected was to meet an amnesiac on the verge of death - an amnesiac with a startling resemblance to a certain boy and a red Pikachu that seems somewhat familiar...

(Fair enough... honestly, Glaceon's not that good anyway. Don't get me wrong, it's good in hail, and its stats make it an okay bulky special sweeper... but frankly, it's all but useless outside of hail, and its movepool isn't all that diverse. If I wanted a bulky Special-based Ice-type, I'd go with Frost Rotom.
...Oh, and fair warning: this RP's going to be AU in the fact that the Kalos region season so far hasn't happened yet - basically, in terms of timeline, it's Hoenn, Sinnoh, Unova, fill-in-the-blanks, present time.)

However, as May sat there, there was a brief rustling noise in the bushes before a strange red Pikachu came out, struggling as he dragged an unconscious young man and his backpack in the direction of the nearby town... not that the little red-furred mouse was making a lot of progress, but you had to give it an A for effort. Then he noticed May and Eevee and brightened with relief, waving to her frantically. "Pika! Pikapi!"
The boy the Pikachu had been dragging had hair that could best be described as dark cyan, pale skin, and fingernails that were more akin to a Dragon-type's claws; however, other than that, he had a strong resemblance to a certain trainer - a resemblance so strong, in fact, that he even had his signature hat (Unova version)... and in addition, he was obviously very, very injured, all sorts of cuts and bruises covering his body. In fact, he looked like he was about to keel over any second now, which would certainly explain why Pikachu was so relieved to see May.

(By the way, new Pikachu color scheme: most of the fur is red, ear tips are still black, cheeks are now black, brown bits are now black.)

Unfortunately, the closest town happened to be Twinleaf Town, which did not have a hospital - only a Pokémon Center and the Pokémon Lab, and it was still a fairly far walk. Fortunately, Professor Birch happened to drive by at the moment and caught sight of the Blaziken carrying the unconscious boy, jeep screeching to a stop. "What on earth...? May, hop in - there's medical equipment at the lab, we should be able to help him!" Once everyone was in the jeep, he immediately put the pedal to the metal, driving at top speed to the lab.
Pikachu just watched his pale-skinned trainer worriedly, hoping he was going to be all right. "Pika..."
About halfway through the drive, the boy's eyes flickered open, looking up at May with very familiar brown (or at least I think they're brown... pics certainly make it seem like they're brown) eyes. "Who... you?" the dark-cyan-haired boy managed to rasp out, despite the fact that even talking hurt quite a bit at this point. "Everything... hurts..."

"Okay, pretty angel," maybe-Ash mumbled, obviously a little delirious from blood loss as he closed his eyes once more.
Pikachu gave Ash's head a little pat before returning to guarding his Trainer.
Soon they reached the lab, and Professor Birch hurried them inside, getting maybe-Ash on a table and starting to tend to his wounds with all sorts of sophisticated-looking equipment. After several minutes of tending to the boy and hooking him up to several life-support machines as Pikachu looked on, Birch sighed in relief, turning to May. "All right, he's out of danger; he'll need to rest for a few days before he fully recovers, but he should be conscious by sometime this evening. Er... who is he, anyway?"

"Pikapi." Pikachu nodded, happy that at least one person - er, Pokémon - recognized him. Deciding to clue them all in, he went over to his Trainer's bag and rifled through it, eventually coming up with a small case. He then walked back over to the two humans and opened the case, revealing the second half of a ribbon that May knew very well. "Pikachu!"

Pikachu hugged her back, glad she finally recognized him and his trainer (even if he did have to practically bash her over the head with it... humans were so dense sometimes - seriously, how many guys did she know who had a Pokéball hat and a Pikachu? The answer was probably 2 at the most, and that's assuming she met Ritchie).
Professor Birch frowned slightly as he scanned both Ash and Pikachu using some sort of device that had a vague resemblance to a Pokédex. "Well, whatever happened to them, it looks like their DNA's been messed with - all scans are showing that Pikachu is 90% Pikachu and 10% unknown and that Ash is a Pokémon. What the heck happened to them?"
"Team Rocket happened."
Professor Birch yelped in shock, whirling to see a strange cloaked figure standing next to Ash that most definitely hadn't been in there a second ago. "Who are you and how did you get in here?"
The figure turned its head slightly, somehow giving off the impression that it was smiling sadly. "I? I am merely the remnant of a soul that sacrificed itself twice over - the ghost of a ghost, if you will." It then returned its gaze to Ash. "Team Rocket wishes to conquer the world by harnessing the power of the Jade Orb. In order to do so, they needed one who could bond with it, and so they attempted to make it bond with Ash - if he survived, they would use him as a weapon. If he died, then that was one less nuisance to their plans. However, no mere human can hold the power of the Jade Orb, for like the sky, its power is infinite... he would've died if I hadn't intervened to stabilize the transformation. Of course, as you saw, Team Rocket's brutality nearly killed him anyway."

The strange being chuckled. "Like I said, I am merely the ghost of a ghost." His tone then grew serious once more. "The Jade Orb has the power to control the deity of the skies, Rayquaza. If Team Rocket manages to harness its power, then Rayquaza's power will be at their disposal... and yes, they will stop at nothing to get at Ash. As for the changes..." The figure nodded toward Ash. "Like I said, no human can handle the power of the Jade Orb... and so, using what was left of my own power, I changed him into something both more and less than human - a Pokémon, albeit one resembling a human. However, while his body and mind have changed and his memories have been scattered due to the agony of the metamorphosis, his heart and soul are still that of the boy you love. As for Pikachu's little color change... Pikachu did that to himself. He saw his trainer in agony, and so out of desperation, he tapped into the remnant of the Blue Orb's power left inside him, harnessing a fraction of the Earth's power and changing willingly in order to save his best friend."
Pikachu wordlessly nodded in confirmation, knowing that at least the last bit was true.

Ash seemed to stir slightly, almost as if he recognized May.
Pikachu's face somehow managed to turn even redder than it already was - which should've been impossible, considering his fur was already red as he ducked his head shyly.
The cloaked being watched silently for a moment before he spoke softly.
"When thieves rise to rule the skies, the Chosen one shall fall,
But fear not, for he shall rise again as the Lord of the Skies and the Soul Inheritor.
And by his side shall stand the Earthen Storm and the Queen of the Sea, and they shall be joined by the Brother of the Mirage and the Gathering of the Sacrificed,
And when they come together the thieves shall rue the day they were born into the world."
With that, the strange being quite literally vanished, seeming to disintegrate until nothing was left but a strange mass that was most definitely egg-shaped, but seemed to be made of some sort of jelly-like substance that kept shifting colors.
