The horsewoman didn't make a habit of people watching usually. Usually however, horsemen didn't go out wandering with nothing to do. Her garden tended to, her work managed, her friends busy- Lan was left to her own devices. This meant she was left with nothing to do.
Nothing to do but wander in an attempt to find something to do.
Arms folded into her sleeves she didn't think much of the small construction site dedicated to rebuilding. She was more a manager type, not a working bee that buzzed about. She... might as well watch and try to learn just what they did? Boredom was quick to plant itself in her, and as she paused to watch the halloweeners work she almost commented to as passing sage how a horseman could do all that work at a much better pace.
Almost commented, until the sight of a horseman working shut her mouth. Aeron was present and immediately Lan wondered if she should say hello. Or if she should just watch and try not to be seen or if she should just........
She left.
....Only to return a few minutes later with a waterskin and a few cookies. He was hard at work and it was just a gift to show her thanks for his efforts and she didn't mean anything by it and how did she say hello was he even wearing a shirt friends did this sort of thing all the time right of course they did he looked he was working hard maybe she should come back later-
As Lan proceeded to get nervous, it was hard not to notice the fact that a small ornately dressed conquest noble was just standing outside of a construction zone, red faced, water skin in hand.

Aeron was fond of trainings, of building the body and mind and spirit through intense workouts. Testing skills. Building friendships...Trainings with his brother guardians provided all that. And it provided nothing new. Sure they could laugh, they would beat each other until the geldings were blue and black. But it didn't offer anything more than that.
He knew the death clan like the back of his hand, the only place he lived as such.
But it didn't stop him from going out into Halloween, searching for jobs to fill his time and his hands. There was much he could do for his horseman lands, he could fight the insanity, fight for their homes...or he could take what was given and attempt to make a better of it. Halloween was not bad, though it was filled with children. He had found a place he enjoyed, even if it didn't show in his face, with men that humored him.
The undead and monster workers of the construction site were crude, and raunchy. Jokes about mothers, whistles passed by the Demon ghoul who walked by. These things he found entertaining, interesting. Different from his own clan.
His wings fluttered as he brought the hammer down on the spike for the steel beam, setting the beam in the ground with a loud thunk. Sweat rolled in small beads down his chest, which was exposed as the construction crew said that was how real men did their work. In truth, he'd be dying of heat exhaustion should he attempt the work with his normal death garb.
he brought the hammer down again, then pulled it back, wiping at his brow. It was then he saw the conquestian horseman at the brink of the site, staring at him.
It was hard not to feel a sense of shame or discomfort at the fact that the conquestian had seen him, and prepared for the judgement, inched his way over to her. More pleasently surprised and horrified that it was Lan.
"Noble Lan...." Aeron wiped at his brow again and tried not to squint at her, thanks to the halloween sun. "What brings you the humble...site...of builders?"

Lan's face got even brighter as Aeron came over; a few halloweeners commented how she had a nice flank and if she was offering anyone a ride, (These comments snapping hear head in their direction, the stare of judgement and shame so known to the conquestians and more specifically to the imperial family, given to those who would dare speak to her in such a manner), but ultimately they were ignored in favor of the death guardian.
Who though dirty and sweaty from his manual labor, was still without his garments and looking very attractive still.
"Aeron, ah, please, Lan is fine." She looked down at her feet, embarrassed to ask that he address her without formality. "I mean, friends do not need titles between them. Unless we are not friends of course!" The water skin in hand felt awkward all of the sudden as she wondered how she'd explain it if he said they were not friend or at least on good terms.
"......I was just in the area is all. You looked to be working hard, and I didn't know if they were providing you with adequate drink so I... got.. you...water..." And sweets. But water first. She was assuming so much after all. That she was a friend. That friends did this sort of thing.
She held the water skin out, trying to hide her embarrassment and the flush of color in her face.

Aeron, and far more of the Halloweeners had noticed the shift of the horsewoman's behavior, for she practically showered him with her grace. he as well got cat calls and refrained from sending out the shadowy feathers of death at the ones that dared made comments...but was saved by the power of Lan's judging stare.
It was a powerful stare.
He took the moment to unhook a cloth from his belt and attempt to at least rid himself of all the glean on his body, as to look favorable to the horsewoman.
"Ah, Forgive me Lan, It is a habit. Bred into my bones." His face didn't change, but there was a light humor in his tone, as if he meant to tease her over it. "I would like the honor of being your friend." He said simply enough, hoping that the honestly that was also bred in him worked. He wasn't so good with words after all. "I would think after escorting you to the ah, halloweeners prom and then that day where we were turned into short little midgets would suffice to say that our friendship is mutual." He held his hand out to direct her to a shaded and more quiet moment.
"Ah a blessed gift Lan, it's a hard work out here." He waited till she took a seat, sitting next to her (with a good distance, and unintentional flexing of muscles and abs as he did so) and held his hand out for the water skin. "I didn't think the halloweeners had more tiring work then that of our clans, but I have been wrong before. Save for their crude and questionable taste in mates..." as he said that, a loud whistling of a passing undead ghoul walking by, accidentally dropping her arm to bend to get it. Pretty much a show for the workers as she sent them a wink. "Like that one, they are a rambling bunch." he looked at Lan again, finally noticing the blush and leaned closer. "Lan, do you have a fever again? You seem to be flushed at the cheeks. Perhaps the heat? Would you like a drink instead?" He held the flask out for her.
Unaware that it might be his minimal clothing state that had her reddening.

Bred into his bones? She might have believed that. Just a bit. One's bloodline did have meaning to her clan and her people. Though thinking of 'breeding' and the fact Aeron was very much a stallion in his own right, half nude near her was a bit distracting to say the least.
"Of course Aeron. We are.. friends then." It seemed awkward to say it outloud, like she'd never had friends before.
She did they were just... they were....
Mengyao, Lifen, Ying... alright so her track record was awkward and confusing but point was she did have friends. "Thank you again by the way. That prom was most... unique as was when we were ah coming up a bit sort?" She tried to make jest of the event, looking up at him before quickly looking away, avoiding eye contact.
She was just happy that he accepted the water skin.
The show of the undead ghoul had Lan making a face of contempt. Crude indeed. "I am sure that their base forms of flattery only serve to lighten their chances at being able to continue their bloodlines. If they wished to impress her, though ought to have manners like you."
And then he went and mentioned her face. Coupled with the realization of what she just said, the red went down her neck and she shuffled, wondering how to possibly distract him from her own embarrassed look. "I'm fine. Really. No need to worry. Besides it is meant for your lips for mine to touch it would be-" Like the sharing of a cup, it seemed oddly intimate.
Then again, she was over thinking likely.
"Most unhygienic." Yes. A good save. "Not that you are um, unclean. Well I mean, aside from working just ah, yes. Germs."
Germs that were rare and hard to spread around given the nature of FEAR. "I brought it for you anyway, not my own use."

Aeron would like to know why Lan's thought were of breedings and his stallion merits. But he wouldn't know what to do with them either, sorry Lan.
He made a noise of agreement, pleased that she accepted the terms of her own will, as if her saying it out loud as well reaffirmed what they were affirming. Ah unless that was awkward to say, he was friends with Thrain...at least he thought so.
He wouldn't be surprised by her list of friends either, all noble conquestians...besides Ying. Though he met the smaller filly briefly, he respected the horsewoman for her craft....She did need though a couple of lessons of being louder.
he was deeply amused again by their baseless attempts of flirtation, regardless he had no history or understanding of it either. A eyebrow winged, unnaturally on his usually stoic face and he gave her a thoughtful gaze. "It is not my intent to woo the ladies by being polite, and I will admit that it can't possibly be a benefit. I am not interested in that of the wiles of halloweeners." He hardly found himself attracted to anyone to be honest. Well, he wondered about that as he watched Lan shuffle.
Probably best that he wasn't, isn't that what his priestess said? He was not a stallion for the fillies, but a horse that was nothing more then a tool.
"You're lips to touch?" He might of flushed a bit...to the heat, yes of course the heat was getting to him. It all shut down at her words, and the stoicness returned. "Ah yes, Forgive me Lan. I have been out exposed to the sun and dust of the construction, would be terrible should it get into your system." He brought the water skin back.
Again the heat must be causing the flush he felt against his skin, wondering why when she said she had brought it for him, that he was pleased. Such attentions were not fit from a noble lady to a guardian.
"Ah I am glad you did, I thank you again for that Lan, for sure enough, had I brought down the hammer once more, I would've been faint." he was amused again, lightly teasing as he took a sip and a straight face. "It's a shame, had I more silver seeds, I would've bought you a snack in return."

Well that was one good thing to hear. Aeron's tastes were not leaning to Halloween but... Lan shuffled in her seat, trying to stop such thoughts. They were unimportant. She didn't need them. Really. This was just a light meeting between friends and whatnot she learned her lesson last time- Over thinking was a terrible, terrible thing. "Oh! Yes, of course. Well, a little dust and dirt never hurt anyone. But be wary Aeron, just because I am of lady of noble breed and blood doesn't make me a weak thing. I come from the imperial line itself after all, the ability to fight for what is mine and what I desire is embedded into my very core." She sat up a bit straighter, proudly touting her ancestry. "I am a conquest horsewoman after all, the worst dust and dirt would do to me is require I change my robes." She suddenly lost herself with a single thought from all her posturing. "I am not unsightly am I? I mean, not that it concerns me greatly but I'd hate for you to see me in something..." She kicked a small stone with her foot. "....You also don't have to get me anything. Rather, you deserve something. Working as you are." She was digging a hold and even though she knew it, her mouth didn't seem ready to let her stop.

"A Noble fighting? Surely you jest my lady..." He hesitated, "Please do not take offense but why would a lady such as yourself ever stoop to the grueling task that is fighting, of reaping. Isn't that what us lower breeds for?" Even if Aeron was a combination of conquest and death clans, through politicalness, he was far beneath that of nobles...even Priestesses.
"I have no doubts, but they are fine robes, and to see you change would be a waste when you are fine the way you are." He took another sip of the waterskin, almost choking it on the sincerity of her question. As if he had put thoughts that she was anything but pretty.
He cleared his throat and looked at her.
"I am afraid that I am too honest, thus, I wish forgiveness at my words should they offend." He cleared his throat again, "I do not usually find Noble's appearances anything but lavish and heady, however..." He reached out, wiping a petal from her cheek from one of her headpieces. "However, It seems that you have good fashion for I am not really displeased seeing you." He gave her a very rare smile before it melted back to the stoicness, and his hand fell. As if it had never been there.
"A gift?" He sounded almost amused, if not for the fall of his face. "Forgive me Lan, but such blessings should be spent on yourself. We are friends, but I am still under your nobleness, some would see that as disrespectful of your clan, would they not?"

Lan stared at him before giggling into the back of her hand, trying, (and failing) to hide her amusement. "No, no, It's not offensive just... It's what we do Aeron. If I am to lead I must master the tasks of those who would follow me and hold me to my words and commands. But-" She wasn't sure how to phrase it, nor, if it was being too forward. "You mustn't call yourself a lower breed. True, I am imperial by birth and have rank, but to call those who serve loyally... calling yourself of lower breed is insulting, as if you are somehow lesser in merit for your value to the clans." She looked at him, at his face, his eyes, before blushing, turning away after he brushed the petal from her. His words and smile didn't help her either. Did that mean he thought she looked pretty? He smiled as well, and expression he'd been rather.. reserved with. "神幫助我。....I um. Er-" Pulling the small parcel from her sleeves she slid it towards him, looking at her feet rather than at him. "There is.. nothing to forgive. You are honest, and friends.. they give each other gifts time to time. Rank or no." A small puff of her cheeks came as she finally did manage to face him. "And if anyone dares to tell me otherwise I will tell them that if Invictus can be with the other heirs as he is then surely, why not can't I chose those who please me to be my friends?" Her little outburst had her eyes darting back to the dirt, feeling foolish once again.

He only cocked his head at her words. She was very kind and very much Naive. If anything, his priestess, who he had been with many years had stated that he and would always be the lower breed of their clan. Regardless of his parentage, he was nothing more then a mutt serving them.
But he didn't speak more on it, letting the matter slide for simply enjoying Lan's innocence. It was refreshing.
He had no idea what she said to him, in her language but raised a brow, and then looking down to the parcel that slid to him.
"Is this a gift...for me?" Stunned, because no such kindness was ever given to him, took it in his hands and stared at it. Did he open it? Did he keep it like such? Why did this seem far more complicated then that of building the construction he was now? At least he was in his element with a hammer and stone, they didn't make him nervous or flighty.
"I would think that the heirs have their own type of royalty, one we cannot even dare to think of.." Aeron continued to stare at the parcel and then back to Lan..."Are you sure this is for me?"

It had been a stupid idea, to get a gift. To call it a gift. It was nothing. Just... her looking out for someone. That was all. It was just a trifle really. "Well I wouldn't be handing it to you if it were not. Er, for you. That is. Ah. Yes." She motioned for him to keep it. "I brought it with you in mind. Working and all. They're just simple biscuits. Sweet and soothing to the mind. Relaxing? I nibble on some after a long day of studying.. or training. But these are indeed for you!" She bit her lip, standing and dusting off her dress though little dust was present. "You don't have any dietary needs do you? I don't wish to make you ill." A quick gaze at his abdomen and the heat to her face that had been ebbing returned. "You are a.. friend after all."

"Ah so these are PERSONAL biscuits." Aeron took one out and nibbled on it, pleased by the taste and well..the fact they were very much soothing and filling. He hadn't realized how hungry he had grown from the work until he finished a cookie, albeit a bit rudely, quickly, reaching for another.
"I can eat all manners of food..." He looked up at her surprised by the concern. "fortunately my Priestess was uh...kind of enough to offer me food (scraps) of her various dishes..." He usually tasted them for poison, and then if she finished and had leftover food, he was allowed to finish it.
Otherwise he didn't eat unless she told him too.

Person- Lan blushed. She didn't want him to think it was something of greater meaning but then maybe it was she wasn't sure what would her parents have siad? What would Invictus say if he knew she was giving away- actually she didn't think he'd say anything. Maybe glare. But she doubted he'd say anything. She didn't mind how he ate the cookie, (maybe just a bit of judgement on how he was getting crumbs all over) but did find his.. enthusiasm rewarding. He seemed to like her choice of food. "Oh thank goodness. I ah- I can bring you more if you like. Or you could visit? I always have a bit of treats on hand.... I'm a bit of a sweet tooth." She mumbled the last part looking at him hopeful. She would like to see him more often. Though why was still a bit of a mystery really.
