Rolling to Catch 28 +10 (bloodmoon) +20 (Familiarity) = 58 FAIL
The Blood Moon was more than halfway to being over, and Rowan was beginning to feel anxious. She would have to be out every night trying to catch and tame a Draugur, if she wanted to have any chance of success before their mating season ended. Things would get far too difficult if she didn't manage to tame and train one of the birds before the Blood Moon had stopped shining. Once again, she had her net and her cage. She had been so close the last time, if the poor thing hadn't been injured she was certain she would have been able to tame him. But dwelling in the past was useless.
She arrived at the bog and stretched her net between two trees, and then settled down to wait. And there she waited. And waited. And waited. Rowan waited until the sun came up, but no Draugur found their way into her net. Tired and hungry, the little Oblivionite finally decided it was time to give up. She had not seen a single Draugur throughout the night. Could they be onto her? Was their mating season drawing to a close sooner than the books said it was? Rowan frowned, walking over to the trees and gathering up her net. Folding it neatly, she gazed around the boggy area, seeking out some sort of movement. But there was nothing.
Rowan was not quite ready to go home, she ventured further into the bog than she had before. But if there were any Draugur to be found, they all seemed to have gone to ground. She knew that they could fly about in the daylight during the Blood Moon, but she didn't see a single feathery creature. Letting out a gusty sigh, she shouldered her pack and turned towards home. If her shoulders slumped and her feet dragged in dejection just the slightest bit, she never would have admitted it - not to herself or to anyone else.
