The Tale that started it: It's that time of year again, and rumors are once again flying about haunted places and strange creatures being sighted. The Blood Moon is shining and the world of Magesc seems slightly darker and more dangerous. Normally you count all these strange rumors as just that, strange rumors. But you overhear one conversation that perks your interest: a man, badly wounded, is talking to a woman. Apparently he found an odd place out in the wilds filled with danger and treasure. You may rp out his conversation; talk with him or merely eavesdrop if you wish.
He doesn't know who made the place, describing it as an odd and spooky underground labyrinth filled with alcoves where the dead are laid to rest. The skeletons don't have much treasure on them, ht e fine clothes they wore to their funerals have all rotted away, but their jewelry still remains. The woman looks disgusted, stealing from the dead? He quickly shakes his head: No! He saw but didn't take those, for who knows what curses were on them. The dead keep what is theirs. But he found other treasure, deep inside the crypt. It was in a huge room that reminded him of a temple, but had three statues in it. He had seen the chests, but dare not go and look inside them: strange things were floating about in that room. Huge shadows that looked like carrion birds, and bright balls of fire with a floating skull inside of them. He hadn't wanted to explore the place any further, the Blood Moon made things too dangerous! The woman asks if he would try to go there after the Blood Moon is gone, and he shakes his head vehemently. He'd been all over that area many times before and had never seen the entrance to that place before!
To get the location, you have 2 paths you can choose: eavesdrop some more as he speaks about where it is, or ask him directly. Either way, go to The Entrance. Erionda hovered in place. Her Hastar quietly waiting for instructions and commands to let him move forward. The female Hybrid had ventured into town on Eowyn for supplied. Her cloak hiding all her features except her horns. Her eyes scanned over the port. She didn't see as many wanted posters as she usually did. Even less of herself being wanted than normal. Many of the people who wandered the streets seemed particularly cautious of rumors flying about and strange superstitions she had never even heard of. Turning her mount to the right Erionda continued down the street. Women and men gossiped at every turn. The Aiskala girl rolled her eyes. She never understood why this time of year so many people seemed to spook so easily at the slightest provocation. She wondered if it really was a good idea to torment some of the Orderites in the port with a good scare. Thinking better of it a single voice stood out to her among all the rumors. Erionda pulled back on the reigned with a deep woah. Turning so she could better listen to the words being spoken. "I'm telling you. It's deep, and it never seems to end. But it does. Treasure is supposed to be there. I was too afraid to open the chests. There are strange creatures that litter the room of the gods. The monsters in there are strong. A place of the dead." An eyebrow quirked at the mention of a place for the dead. It wasn't common to find any such place in Magesc to exist. The one she did know of had been buried during the war. Her head tilted to the side as she considered the story. Many of the other rumors she had heard floating about, were ones she had heard for years. This one, seemed to have more truth to it than the silly tales. It was also the first one she had heard that mentioned a statue of all the gods. Erionda's mind wandered until she could hear the location of the given place. Another ring of truth. Rumors often didn't contain a location unless there was more too them. Digging her heals into the Hastar's sides Erionda turned from town. If she wanted to make it to the said location in time she would have to pick up speed. Dust trailed behind her as she moved.

The Entrance: You've traveled deep into the wilderness, fighting some monsters, slinking by others, until at last you have arrived at the location the wounded man had described. The sun is barely above the horizon, painting the sky a blood red. To the East, the moon has risen; full and glowing with that odd amber red color. You can clearly see the entrance, it lays like a black hole on the side of a huge hill, and all around it is a flat grassy plain; no trees grow near it, nor are there any other hills nearby. The entrance is made of stone, and there were once words carved into the archway above your head.Time though has caused them to become cracked and faded and all you can make out is the word at the end: "Fallen." The stone archway holds no door and beyond lays a room that you can only see shadows in. From within comes a sudden breeze; a dusty and earthy scent fills your nose as the breeze passes you. Go to The Hallway. Everything that seemed to block her way only slowed Erionda pace. She hated to be slowed down. The sound of the Hastars hooves on the ground had little effect on the surroundings. The place was exactly as the old man had described to whoever he was talking to. She ignored the clack of stone under the hooves her eyes scanning every inch of the entrance. Her eyes lingering on the only legible text. "Fallen?" Erionda muttered questioningly. Did it mean those who had fallen away from their own kind? Who had abandoned their allies in search of love and created her kind? The hybrids? Mismatched eyes blinked in wonder as she surveyed the area. Watched as it passed over her head. Erionda cringed as the ceiling came low towards her head. Kicking her foot off the Hastar and dropping to the ground Erionda slowly moved forward into the forbidding place. Lanzecki and Uassae, who had silently followed Erionda once she had emerged from the port trailed behind her. "I'm not sure I like this place it's too dark." Lanzecki muttered as he scurried to the hybrids side. "Shouldn't we have come during the day? It's safer in the daylight." Erionda cast him a warning look before pressing into the first room. The lack of light didn't frighten the hybrid. She was more comfortable with the less she could see. Afraid that if the light appeared, what she could see would be things she would plead to be able to forget. The wind picking up caused the hybrid to cover her nose. Everything smelt old here. "We can't come during the day Lanzecki, Something about this place only appears during the blood moon." Uassae explained. Happily searching every place he could think of. Perhaps there would be something he could use to scare Lanzecki with.

The Hallway: As you enter the crypt, you notice that it is unnaturally silent. You can't hear the sound of the wind or bugs anymore. If you look behind you, you can still see the plains soaked in red light; but they look farther away than they should, and there's too much darkness between you and the outside. Into the room you go. It is small and narrow, more like a hallway than a room. Statues of armored figures line the walls. If you take a closer look at them, you'll notice the statues that line the right wall have no eyes. While the statues on the left wall have carvings of wings on the wall behind them. Opposite the entry way is another archway, this one has stairs leading down beyond it. The light in this hallway is dim, and the stairs themselves vanish into the dark. A light may be needed to explore this place. You may go down the stairs, Go to Downwards. Or you may leave Go to Quit. Ignoring the familiar antics of her companions, Erionda pressed into the next room. The silence unnerved the hybrid. Usually even in the dark places, crickets or the sound of wings permeated the place. Even the rustling of grass or leaves. The creek of wood or the splash of water. Even the wind rustling against the sand and the dragons fighting beyond left plenty of night sounds. Here, even sound was dead. Erionda shivered, not because she was cold. But because of a sense of foreboding that followed her. The room grew into a narrow space lined with armored statues on either side. Wings on one and a lack of eyes on the other. Orderites and Oblivionites perhaps. Was this a remake of the ancient war that had been fueled between the two races for endless centuries? Lanzecki continued to crawl silently behind Erionda with his belly to the floor. He didn't like the creepy crypt, constantly letting Rio know he wanted to go back home. Approaching what looked to be a stair case leading down Erionda looked back for Uassae. "I need your light, Uassae." Erionda called into the darkness behind her. Uassae's head perked up from where he had been exploring. Eager to aid in the adventure he pranced forward. His body giving off a soft yellow glow as they moved deeper down the stairs, further into the great unknown.

Downwards Light may be created by any Orderite mage, any Kiandri, Firani, Auedaun Dovaa/Drakein, and by using items. Fire Feathers also put out light. Or you can rp your characters making a torch, that works to. If you wish to do the adventure in the dark that's fine! Just be aware that your character won't see all the details and stuff! As the stairs go down, the air gets chillier and the scent of dust and earth gets stronger. The walls of the stairwell are covered in carvings depicting battles. Some you can tell are between certain races and others are against dragons. But all involve death and violence. Once you reach the end of the stairwell, the corridor widens and you see a large room filled with statues. Along every wall are alcoves that contain a skeletons. Some of them have rusted armor others have rotted clothing, all have a weapon of some sort lying next to them. Above each alcove is a name carved into the rock. As you wander the long corridors of the Crypt, you see every wall is covered in alcoves and statues. The statues depict all races, and you wonder who they were. If you look close enough, you notice at the bottom of the statue is a name carved into the rock. And if you look hard enough, you can find that same name above a skeleton... Someone took the dead and carved statues of them, but there are so much more skeletons than there are statues. Who did this? And why? The silent walls hold no information on who built this place. Maybe deeper inside you'll find some clues... As you are wandering, another thing catches your eye. The glimmer of gold. Forged gold is special, it never tarnishes, nor do the precious gems set in them. Every skeleton in here has something that shines, and flickers in the light. But should you steal from the dead? If even one of the group steals from the Dead, Go to Combat!. If everyone decides to leave the Dead in peace: Go to The Shrine. Uassae moved in front of the group. His hide giving off a soft glow against the walls around him. The sound of claws against stone were the only sound Erionda could hear as she followed behind the older companion. Lanzecki still keeping up the rear with his belly pressed firmly against the ground every time they stopped. Erionda glanced back from time to time, completely sure her Keinova had turned into a strange serpent somewhere along the way with how close to the ground he shimmied. The slow drop in temperature was nothing to the Aiskala. She could withstand much colder than this, all it did was alleviate the pain of the scorching Eowyn sands. The walls were like a still life story played out before her eyes. Depicting many stories. Several caused the hybrid to shudder, her mind desperate to forget the scene. Eventually the trio arrived in a large room. There were statues on every wall. All seemed to have a creepy aura about them. Erionda wasn't sure if they were once Magescians who lived. Or if they were statues meant to resemble the dead in strange ways. Looking about the room Erionda swallowed her breath and moved to press on. Lanzecki stopped as he caught sight of the twinkle of gold on the statues. Looking between Erionda and the statues, Lanzecki grew interested. Making his way over slowly, the Keinova stretched out his neck to sniff at the very detailed sculptures. Opening his jaw he took one of the gold rings off the finger of the first statue. Screaming as it moved to take back the item. His screams echoed down the cavern, Erionda spun on her heals her sword drawn in an instant as she spotted the statue movie.

Combat As your hand pulls the jewelry off, the skeleton's skull suddenly turns towards you and lights flicker in its eye's. A bony hand grabs your greedy hand to take back it's treasure and a ball of light suddenly flickers to life above the skeleton and launches itself at you. All about you comes rustling sounds and you see the skulls of nearby skeletons turn to face you as several more balls of glowing blue fire float towards you, vague images of skulls burning inside of them. You must face the 3 Will-o-Wisps! Treat this as a normal Hunt vs 3 Will-o-Wisps: lvl 18, luk 10, they do not drop anything upon dying. If you lose, you must flee! The Will-o-Wisps chase you out of the Adventure: Go to Quit. If you win, Go to Awakened Dead. Erionda's Stats Character: Erionda STAGE: Adept LVL: 64 EXP: 31/64 LUK: 51 LUCK EXP: 0/3 Monster: 3 Will-o-wisp Drakein with her: Lanzecki Uassae Success rate 6-100 Success 2(3(61(18/61)))= 108 31 + 108 = 139 139/64 Erionda levels 65 75/65 Erionda levels to 66 10/66 Erionda gains no luck NO item Erionda cursed as three floating orbs appeared over the heads of the statues. Someone had set off a trap of some sort and now that it was activated there was no choice but to fight back. Grinding her teeth Erionda stalked forward. Her eyes focused on the strange things she had never seen before. Her sword swung out at the first of the floating objects. It swerved around her blade as if taunting her. Raising an eyebrow Erionda tilted her head. It didn't seem to be trying to attack her. Just as it didn't seem to be effected by her physical attacks. Turning to the side she witnessed Uassae stalk forward and snap his jaws frantically at the will-o-wisp. It slithered out from his teeth with a laughing chime. Sitting on his muzzle as it continued to mock the Drakien. Erionda turned away from the pair to face the two floating orbs in front of her. She wasn't sure what kind of magic this was, and while mildly amusing, was grating on her nerves. Testing again with her blade Erionda cursed. Hearing a mental apology from Lanzecki. "You?" She questioned her eyes searching the cowering Keinova. He nodded slowly looking between Erionda and the orb. Erionda rolled her eyes and sighed. Her magic tingling along her arm as the ice flashed around the two Will-o-wisp in front of her. The hybrid watched as they fell to the ground with a shattering sound. So they were weak to magic at least. Turning in time to see Uassae figure out the very same idea. His light was dissipating the orb taunting him. With a triumphant smile he turned to Erionda.

Awakened dead The once quiet crypt is now awash in the rustle of something moving, the clanks of rusted armor, the clacking sound of bone upon stone. You suddenly remember something you heard during the conversation by the man who's tale lead you here: "The dead keep what is theirs." You find yourself facing skeletons who follow you were ever you run in the crypt. What shall you do? Do you try to flee the crypt, or find someplace inside the crypt to fight? As you go about the crypt, you must face the risen dead! You may roll for them all at once and fight them in a big running battle before you stumble upon the only door in this entire place, or you may rp fighting one at a time. You will face a total of 6 Risen Dead. Any dark, blood, or earth spells do not affect them! In fact, some of them seem to heal and invigorate them.... If they manage to touch you, you feel chilled and fatigued. Light/ lightning, and fire spells appear to do more damage. Two of the skeletons wear the tatters of robes, they will cast magic at you! The spells you will face will be ice, fire, earth, blood, or dark spells (your choice). One Skeleton will be an archer, the other 3 bear swords. Stats: Risen Dead: Level 25, LUK 15. This section will need 300 words from each participant! If you lose, you end up fighting your way out, Go to Quit. If you win, you end up fighting your way deeper into the crypt. Go to The Shrine. Erionda's Stats Character: Erionda STAGE: Adept LVL: 66 EXP: 10/66 LUK: 51 LUCK EXP: 0/3 Monster: 6 Risen Dead Drakein with her: Lanzecki Uassae Success rate 6-100 Success 2(6(66(25/66)))= 300 10 + 300 = 310 310/66 Erionda levels 67 244/67 Erionda levels to 68 177/68 Erionda levels to 69 109/69 Erionda levels to 70 40/70 exp remain Erionda gains no luck NO item The sound of shuffling broke the silent chamber. Erionda's eyes darted around the room. The every muscle in her body tingled as the sound of metal and bone reached her ears. Her eyes watching the strange skelotons before them. "Lanzecki if you woke the dead and every single one of those skeletons on the stairs and here come after us. So help me. You wont be coming on any more adventures." Erionda snarled watching as two of the statues animated. Slowly progressing towards her in strange shaking motions. Lanzecki flattened himself even closer to the ground. If that was even possible. He hated caves like this, they all meant trouble. So why had Rio come in search of such a place to start with!? He gave a pleading whimper, he wanted to run for the safety of the world outside this creepy tomb. Uassae roared as he lunged for the first of the animated dead. Feeling satisfied as it crumbled under his body. Stepping off to swipe his claws out at the first. Erionda watched as the first trembled before pulling itself back together. Her face paled at the display of dark magic. It was strong and creepy! Much stronger than anything she had faced. Physically at least. Grinding her teeth together Erionda swung at the risen skeletons. Dragons fired her blood, these didn't have the same effect but at least her blade was able to sever the skeletons clean through. Shards of rocks grew from the ground as two more Skeletons appeared in the room. Uassae bellowed as he cast a light spell at the one before him. It crumbled to dust, before his feet. Satasfied Erionda lunged herself at the two emerging skeletons. Ice followed creating a strong blizzard in the room. Silly spells like this didn't effect her Dovaa blood. She was protected by her Aiskala clan against the chilling cold. Lanzecki whimpered again. "Ok I get it." He cried. Two more Skeletons emerged from behind. Slithering on his belly until he was hiding under Uassae. Erionda attacked relentlessly with both her magic and her imprinted weapon until the remaining Skeletons were nothing but shards of bones. It was a wonder the old man whom she had heard speaking was in such pain. These were powerful monsters to be fighting. If he was only a traveler or an adventuring type it would stand to reason why they had caused him so much trouble. Why he was so afraid to enter this place. The hybrid thanked him silently for the information. Turning to continue down the hallway towards the final room of the crypt.

The Shrine As you go deeper into the crypt, after fighting your way down or not, you come to a large door. It's the only door in the entire place. On either side of the door are statues of small Dragons.. or maybe Drakeins. They are the only Statues of their kind in here that you have seen. What is beyond the door? As you open it, you notice that the door is completely silent. No creaks or squeals at all... Which is odd, the rest of the crypt looked and smelled old as did this door, and old doors creak... Peaking beyond the doorway you spy exactly what the man had. Huge shadows that flap about silently, completely black except for the odd sharp bird legs. Mixed in are floating balls of green and blue fire with vague skull shapes at the center. And yes, there is the chest! In fact there are 3 chests. One at the foot of each large statue. As you look at them, the majority of the status are covered in shadow, but you get a feeling that they look familiar. Looking at them closely, you suddenly recognize all 3 of the Gods! This must be a shrine to them... No matter what you do in this room, the Draugur and the Will-o-Wisps merely pass you by, just floating silently about the room. Should you try to touch them, your hands become chilled and numb for a bit as your hand passes through the creatures. It is oddly silent in here, and a feeling of deep sadness presses down upon you, but these chests are calling! Should you go to a chest that does not belong to your god, the chest will not open, but the one at the foot of your god does... Drakeins of all clans except Diabi and Aeduan find the chest at the foot of Abronaxus' statue opens. The Diabi clan find the chest at Soudana's statue opens and the Aeduan Drakein find the chest at the base of Seren's statue opens. Chest contains(no matter which one opens): x2 Firani Dragon Tears and either a Shield of the Ancients, Arrow of Courage, or Bottle of Dreams. You chose which you want! Post in the finished adventure thread and make sure to specify which one you want! You may now RP leaving, all the dead and will-o-wisps are quiet and nothing moves as you leave. But you get eh sense that eyes are watching you and it would be a very bad thing to disturb the dead right now....If you do try and take their loot, the dead wake up, take back their loot and chase you out. Erionda took a sigh of relief as the battle seemed to come to a close. She had fought many opponents at once. None of them seemed to be able to pull themselves back together again and again. Satisfied they were no longer in trouble Erionda shot Lanzecki another look. "What did you do to summon them?" The small Keinova flapped his wings urgently. "They had shinny rings! I wanted one." Erionda blinked twice at the answer. Shaking her head she buried her face in the palm of her hand. She should have expected as much. Her Drakein was easily distracted by the shiny gold color of objects. Why hadn't she seen the rings in the first place and warned him not to touch anything. "Lets not try that trick again Lanzecki. It's always bad stealing from the dead in the dark. We can do it during the day because souls to like us. Here we aren't going to be so lucky." The hybrid bluffed turning to walk down the last of the crypt. The final room was more brilliant than Erionda had imagined. After her fight with the Will-o-wisp's in the previous room, Erionda figured the ones in here would be just as unlikely to cause them any harm. What caught her eye the most was the statues of the three gods. Erionda eye brows stitched together as her eyes fell on the chest's at the feet of each god. Stepping towards the one representing the Dovaa Erionda opened the chest to reveal the treasures within. Two Firani tear and a Bottled Dream. Lifting them out and stashing them into her bag Lanzecki made a noise akin to triumph for opening the chest. Bouncing around in a circle as he sang.
