Avani peeked into a box. Nope, Kin wasn't in this box ether. She looked around the living room of the old farm house. She looked for more boxes she could reach that had her name on it. But all the boxes on top were open and she couldn't find Kin.

She felt sad she couldn't find Kin, what if he had been left behind.

"No Avani." her mother, Joke ((pronounced as in egg yoke)), said as she saw her child about to ask again if her stuffed pumpkin plush had been left behind, "I packed it myself. Go and keep an eye out for our guests that have come to help us unpack. "

Avani scrunched up her nose, and went out to the front yard to watch her father, Raikael, take a box of the family Uruu into the Uruu hutch. Mama would be happy that the Uruu were here finaly. Mama was complaining that she missed her fresh eggs for breakfast, and that she was using the last of the ones packed to make baked snacks for the family that was coming to help them unpack.

Avani smiled and laughed as her papa came out of the hutch with Uruu feathers all over him.

"And what are ya doing young lady?" her father said catching her up in his arms and hugging her, "Have you gotten under your mother's skirts already?"

"Mama said I was to keep an eye out for our guests..." Avani said laughing and pulling away, "Can they help me find Kin?"

Raikael laughed at his daughter's forthrightness.

"I have it on good authority," he said brushing off the excess feathers the Uruu gave him, "That they have a girl about your age." He winked at Avani, "Perhaps she can help you find Kin."

"They have a girl my age?" Avani said, her eyes getting wider, "Is she nice?" she looked down at her clothes and brushed them off, "Will she like my clothes?" She patted down her hair, "What does she look like? Will she like mama's cookies? Will she-?"

Her father laughed out loud at his child's inquisitive nature showing itself brightly.

"Look Avani." her father said as he heard cart wheels coming from the drive. He turned and guided his child towards the drive as well, "You can ask her yourself."

He smiled as the other family's cart came to a stop near them in front of the house.

Raikal placed Avani on the ground and shook the hand of his new neighbor.

"Thanks for the greeting and welcome. I am Raikal, my wife is Joke, and my daughter Avani." He tipped his head to Liopa, "Morning Ma'am." He then turned to Veran and said, "My wife was not happy without her fresh eggs this morning, so I had to get those Uruu into the coop and settled." he chuckled, "Tomorrow's breakfast depended on it!"

Joke came down the steps of the house and smiled at the new family and said, "If you get hungry I made bread and some small cakes. We also have some extra breakfast stuffs if you wish." She wiped her hands on her apron and held her hand out to Liopa, "I am Joke," she chuckled, "Spelled like a joke and said like an egg part. Raikal is always amused by that."

She looked down at Avani and Sueno and said, "There is lemonade if you get tired young ones! And Avani try not to break anything!"

Avani smiled brightly at her mother, then she turned her smile to Sueno.

"You can help me find my pumpkin Kin." she whispered to Sueno. Avani then spoke up again saying, "Mama said she packed it, but I can't find it in the boxes on top." she took Sueno by her hand and led her inside, "We can take some of the boxes with my name on it that I have already opened to my room, and when we get em all in there, then look for Kin!" she then whispered to her, "Later we can have some cake Mama baked." She giggled, "Mama makes the best cakes company comes!"

"Papa's not a good baker ether." Avani giggled. The last time he tried to bake something, Mama was sick. When Mama got better and was cooking again, she had said he wasn't allowed to use her pots anymore. Whatever that had been about.

"Kin is my pumpkin doll!" Avani said giggling, "Mama said Granny made her for me when I was born, so he's been with me all my life!" She was hugging herself remembering the adventures they had gone on. "We have had many adventures together." She then looked at all the boxes, "I just hope he's here..."

Avani sat on the floor of the room looking at all her boxes. She couldn't wait to get into them all. She smiled up at Sueno and asked, "Lemonade before we tackle the boxes, or after?"

"Me too!" Avani laughed, "This house is taller that our last one!"

She then set to work opening the boxes that were her's and pulling things out, putting away her clothes, and placing her books on farm machines and farming on her shelves. She always did like books on the knowledge of farming. She wondered if Papa would give her a small bit of land to work on here so she could try out her experiments.

She was at the last of her boxes, Sueno near the end of the ones she was opening, and sighed before she opened it. Kin just had to be in this one, he just had to!

Avani closed her eyes as she opened the box slowly.............

"I like to keep up on current events on farming and the tools used!" Avani said as she watched Sueno unpack. "Tryin to figure out how to help Papa." She liked how Sueno was interested in each thing. She was as curious as she was! What fun they were gonna have!

Avani slowly opened one eye, and looked down into the box. She opened the other one and held her breath.

Was that Kin?

She moved the things on top away and let out her breath sharply.

It was!

"WHHOPPPIEE!!!!" Avnia shouted grabbing Kin up and cuddling the soft plush. She felt so revealed and happy.

"This is Kin." she said giving one last snug, and turned the small round pumpkin around to show her new friend his pumpkin face sown into it, "Been with me since the beginning."

She handed him to her small friend to look at more closely. She smiled brightly sharing her most prized possession.

Avani made a face too.

"We have to play sometime soon!" she said smiling brightly and taking back Kin. Oh the things they could do!

She smiled and said, "If you come over sometime soon, you can have cake too!"

Avani felt happy for having made a good friend. Hopefully they would play again soon <3
