Dohi thought that she was adjusting well to being such a young clan mother. Sure, not all of her elders were listening to her all that much, but Grandmother said it would come in time. She had to prove that she was level-headed, wise, calm...everything she needed to be. The problem was that Dohi was still young, a bit impulsive, and full of opinions that she shouldn't always share. It was hard, but she always had her sister to lean on. The alu'nadi was keeping her eyes on the skies, slowly noticing that there were more birds around. Nodding her head in approval, she kept her eyes peeled for that coat and tattoo combo that was clearly Yinehi. Dohi was hoping to speak to her before the gathering of the Sky Festival...as she would now be central to the socializing aspect of it as alu'nadi. The young lioness only hoped that her father wouldn't pressure her into a silly marriage or courtship.

Yinehi was only a huntress so, regardless of her enthusiasm for helping out her sister when she needed it, she was allowed to be slightly more erratic and obnoxious. She was getting very excited for the upcoming Sky Festival, spending most of her free time lately helping in any way she could- and she was glad there were actually ways for her to help out. She was wandering around, deliberately looking sneaky.. murmuring a number every once in a while, not counting anything especially obvious.
She skipped along until she spotted Dohi nearby, then she stumbled.
"Aha!"

"Be careful," Dohi laughed, though she wondered if that would ever happen. Yinehi definitely kept things lively, and she could get away with it too.
"What are you up to?" the dark lioness asked carefully, her eyes narrowing as she studied her sister. "I can tell you're not skipping around for no reason. Somethings got your tail all curled up and I want to know why." Dohi smiled, but she was on the hunt...for information!
"We both know its not a coincidences that there are birds gathering around the Bird Clan...hmmm?" she asked as she nosed her sister's shoulder playfully.

Yinehi beamed at her sister, not at all put off by the careful stare she was being given. She was clumsy at the best of times, it only got worse when she was so excited. The only had good memories of the festival, it had to be even better now that she was an adult. And she had secrets.
"That's what I was doing," she said brightly, "There are a lot of birds around here now, I even found a nest!"
What was more exciting than baby birds?

"Wow. I wonder if this is our grandparents' doing...?" She knew how much her grandmother loved birds, and Tawa'di always had his bird around if he appeared, so perhaps...
"Well, that's exciting. I hope they start socializing with all of us soon, unles...have you talked to any of them?" Dohi hadn't really had the time, but she knew that birds were smart enough to befriend a lion if it meant something to them.
"They're a good distraction from the festival preparations," she said with an exhausted sigh. "Father is sending me out everyone to help him find all the herbs he needs for the Tree Ceremony...I mean, shouldn't Uncle do that as nvwati?" Dohi sulked for a moment.

She shrugged at the suggestion it had something to do with their grandparents, she suspected it might but there would be time to ask questions like that later. Yinehi was fond of all the birds around, that alone was enough to keep her cheerful. It felt appropriate, for birds to flock to the Bird Clan.
"I was chased away from the nest," she confessed with a smile, "Does that count?"
Yinehi had wanted to get a good look at the baby birds, maybe even talk to them, but she had been chased away. There had been words involved, she counted it. Actually befriending herself a bird was the next step on her to-do list.

Dohi blinked a could times, then burst into laughter. She was just imagining her sweet-hearted sister marching right up to a nest to coo over the little ones, just to be chased away by pecking parents.
"Oh, you're too funny, Yinehi," Dohi laughed. "Okay...okay...well, maybe they'll start explaining their business soon? I'm sure Father knows something, but you know how he is. Doesn't share anything unless he feels like you really need to know it. So stubborn."
Evening her breathing now that she wasnt laughing so hard, the dark lioness gave her sister another look. "So, are you ready for the festival? Its crazy that we'll suddenly be surrounded by all the other clans...I'm a little nervous."

"If dad knows anything about what's going on, I'm surprised you don't," she said suddenly, tilting her head and considering what it could all mean but quickly shaking it off, "I guess wanidatsi isn't really a clan thing anything so he doesn't need to share everything with you. You just have to mind the Bird Clan."
Her tone was bright and cheerful, she didn't mean any offense in making excuses for why Dohi would be oblivious to any unusual things going on. It was simply fact and Dohi probably knew that better Yinehi.
"I'm excited for the festival!" she said when the conversation changed, "I've been trying to convince Usdi'awi and Tsi-Tsi that they want to participate in the Sky Ceremony but I don't know if they're taking me very seriously."

Dohi smiled. "They really should. Are they afraid of failure or something? I can't imagine them bringing any sort of dishonor to the family. It takes a lot of guts just to enter, I think that's good enough." She herself wouldn't enter, as she wasn't a battler, nor did she think alu'nadi should participate.
"I'm excited to see how the competition goes this year. I have to admit, even though she's not part of the bird clan, it would be exciting to see the current champion keep her title. I like having a female in that position," Dohi said with a smug laugh. "I'm so exhausted from prep, but now you've got me all excited again! Maybe all these birds will just be extra spectators for the festivities."

"Who knows!" she said with a laugh, hoping that their brothers were actually willing to participate in the end- though she could try harassing their older brothers, too, she just was more comfortable with the ones who were her own age, "No, the last few Champions have been girls anyway, right? Our brothers should enter and they should win!"
She nodded, though privately she thought it would be interesting to see the Sky Champion keep her title. Assuming she decided to try again, that didn't always happen.
"Maybe," she said, her thoughts turning back to the birds, "Maybe I should try asking some of the prettier ones for feathers, you never know what feathers someone might like to wear."

Well well, Yinehi wanted family to win! Perhaps Dohi would see if she could convince any of their family into entering. Hmmm.
"Well well, that last sentence of yours makes it sound like you've got your eye on someone. Do you?? Or are you just going to keep your eyes peeled when the rest of the clans are here?" she asked with a wink. Part of it was a tease, but she didn't mind. Her sister wouldn't be leaving if she got married. Their brothers, on the other hand...that would be a bit harder to deal with, even if it would make them happy.

"What!"
Yinehi laughed at the accusation, it just felt so ridiculous. She had thought about the idea of marriage, of course, but never seriously. She'd never met anybody who made her think about it that way.
"Don't be ridiculous," she said, sticking out her tongue, "Though it can't hurt to look around when everybody is around, I guess. What about you! You're clan mother now, shouldn't you be an actual mother sometime soon?"

"Feh! There are no rules saying that I have to be a mother," Dohi waves a paw at her sister. "You're just deflecting onto me!" Dohi giggled, finding this conversation hilarious.
"Well, maybe I'll help you look. Who knows, there may be a great fighter that you see in the Sky Ceremony that will capture your heart~" she emphasized the last word, making a little dramatic flip of her head as she said it, as if she was struck with love!

She was disappointed that Dohi denied her question so easily, realizing she did as much to put herself into this conversation now as she had tried to put Dohi into it.. and naturally her sister wouldn't carry on about herself.
"Fine, I accept and expect your help," she said seriously, straightening up and grinning, "Now along with everything else you have to do for the Bird Clan in the Festival, you're stuck making sure I find love."
It wasn't an easy task in the Ela'wadiyi, it was far too serious to be truly treated as a game. But now this would give them something funny to do and talk about at least until the festival was over.

"Oh crap. Fine. I'll find the perfect husband for you....and you know it won't work like that," Dohi laughed. "Maybe you should start looking for me. Maybe they'll be a shy newcomer, hmm? Maybe that's up your alley."
Dohi laughed harder this time, tickled at the idea of a shy male rogue entering and sweeping Yinehi off her feet. Somehow mother did it, perhaps it was possible!
