Life just seems boring for regular collage student David Marlet until he desires to take a walk along the beach on a rainy day. Who would of known that a walk to clear his head would change the rich boy's life forever when he finds an unconscious half fish half human creature lying on the sand. Things only get weirder when the unconscious boy's tail fades away leaving him as naked as a new born baby on the sand. Dave does the only thing he can think of. He wraps the small merman in his coat and takes him back to the appartment he lives in alone and waits for the strange boy to wake up. Hardly anyone actually likes writing bios. So instead there is a little 'extra' thingy where you can put trivial stuff~ I also ask that this doesn't get smutty in any way shape or form. Thank you.

Luther was in more trouble than normal this time, he didn't mean to stir things up but then again nobody ever means to get in trouble. He swam as fast as he could in his attempt to get away from the school of sharks that seemed to be just a few feet behind him. If only he hadn't made fun of that kid, but in Luther's defense it was the kid's fault for looking like a dolphin at such a young age. Luther kept swimming as fast as his tail could, panting and worrying that he would be eaten, he glanced back at the sharks who were rapidly gaining on him. He ran out of ocean to swim through, he was met with a rock wall that seemed to enclose him a bit tightly. There was nowhere to go, all that was left to do was brace himself for the jagged teeth that would tear through his flesh. The sharks circled around him, teasing him and only taking small chunks of his tail fin. Luther cried out in agony as the blood from his body made more sharks gather around until one of the deadliest species wandered toward him. Every shark that was surrounding him suddenly fled in the presence of a great white. Luther had never been so scared in his life; he tilted his head upward and closed his eys to pray that he live through this. The great white swam at a distance away from Luther and then took a running charge at him, knocking him against the rock wall so hard that it was difficult to swim. Once the great white was satisfied in his revenge for the boy making fun of his son it swam off.
Luther watched the large fish disappear into the darkness of the ocean, he had to get somewhere quickly or he would be eaten for sure. He swam out of the enclosure and saw there was shore not far from him. He summoned the last of his strength to make a mad dash for the sand bar, crawling onto shore in the comfort cloaking of rain and fog. Luckily there were no humans around, not that Luther cared much at this point as he blacked out on the shoreline, his tail still in the ocean as his body created an effort to regain strength again.

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ "Of course it's raining." David sighed as he popped the collar of his nearly knee length coat. It was a chilly autumn day and the rain was only making it seem colder to the poor marine biology major. It seems that everytime I take a walk to clear my head something happen or goes wrong. He thought bitterly as the rain soaked into his hair and ran down his neck sending shivers throughout his body. He would of given anything right then for an umbrella but unfortunately for him he couldn't even go into a store and buy one because he was walking along a secluded part of the beach. This really just wasn't his day. "You would of told me to grab an umbrella before I left, wouldn't you mom?" He asked the ring on his right pinky quietly.
∻ He was distracted from his momentary self loathing when he spotted what appeared to be a very large puddle of blood, and what appeared to be a legless person in it. "s**t." He cursed quietly as he started running towards the person to see if he could help them. Though as he got closer he noticed that- thankfully- the person was not legless but in the place of legs was a long, chewed up, blue and red tail. "Is this a..." He had wanted to say Mermaid but the word just seemed ridiculous to him. Mermaids didn't exsist. This was probably just a boy in a suit playing a mean trick. He looked out at the water and noticed a few sharks circling around as close to the shore as they could get. The thought of the sharks trying to get at the boy sent a pang of worry to his gut. "Hey kid are you ok?" Dave asked quietly , kneeling down beside the red head as his long tail disappeared, leaving pale legs in its place. He was amazed by the fact that the tail had just disappeared... And behind it it left a very naked boy. David blushed profusely, quickly taking off his coat and drapping it over the boy. What do Ido now? I can't just leave him here he myth die. I could take him back to my apartment. Yeah that seems like the best option. He thought, already wrapping the coat up around the boy and picking him up into his arms. The coat covered the mermaid completely which made him realize how small he really was. Shaking his head to clear his mind, David hurried off towards his appartment.
∻ His appartment complex was not far from the beach so within about fifteen to twenty minutes he was climbing the stairs to the third floor. "His father who owned the complex, and it's many sisters insisted that he live in his own appartment instead of sharing a dingy dorm room with anyone else, and at that moment he was glad that he had taken his father up on his offer because he was pretty sure that if he brought a naked boy covered in nothing but a trench coat home to a dorm, his roommate or someone would of called the police. It took a few minutes of careful manuvering, but he eventually got the door to his appartment unlocked. Shutting the door behind him with his foot, he carried the boy into his room and laid him gently on the bed before unwrapping the wet trench coat from his body. He threw the coat into his laundry basket before digging around in his closet for a shirt. He ended up just choosing a plain black shirt and went back over to the bed to put it on the sleeping boy before pulling the covers over him. "I think I'll make some tea." He mumbled quietly, leaving the boy alone in the dimly lit, and neatly kept room.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? [{(ⓞ•ⓞ•ⓒ• Oh no! Poor Luther! Also if you didn't like that I made Luther's tail disappear just tell me. I thought I would be hard to carry a mermaid and their tail considering that a tail would probably weigh a ton. I also may or may not have this head cannon that a mermaids tail goes away after they spend a certain amount of time on land and comes back when they enter any body of water >w<''' Also love the picture doesn't look big at all. In fact it looks tiny.)}]

Luther wasn't entirely unconscious, he could hear the pounding of feet running toward him but he couldn't muster up enough energy to even open an eye. Crap...first sharks...now a human. Dad's gonna kill me. He thought as he was being picked up, his body becoming lighter but that was normal since his tail had disappeared from the lack of seawater surrounding it. Despite Luther being mostly unconscious he couldn't help but shiver, a new bodily reaction to him considering how warm the ocean is, his body had never shivered at home. It wasn't long before Luther had lost what little consciousness he had left.
After a few hours later Luther woke up in something soft with something else on top of him. He sat up and rubbed his pounding head, staring at the thing that covered like it was some kind of alien species he had never seen before. How hard was I knocked against that rock wall? He thought to himself as he looked at his surroundings, which didn't look terribly different from the surroundings inside the King's castle with the exception of strange objects such as the nightstands, lamps, closet, and other things that weren't typically found in the ocean. Luther pulled back the cloth that covered him and sighed heavily at the sight of his legs. Yep...no tail. Figures. Luther thought as he moved to get on all fours, crawling to the end of the bed and testing his legs' strength by placing one foot on the floor. For a moment it seemed his legs could hold his weight, so he put both feet on the floor but when he tried to put all of his weight on them his knees decided to buckle, causing him to collapse with a loud "OOMF!" Luther looked around his environment once more and grumbled to himself. Well that didn't work. ((Don't worry about it lol I wanted that to happen anyways smile ))

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ "There is a Mermaid or some kind of mutant hybrid sleeping in my room and the only thing I'm capable of doing is making tea." David mumble quietly to himself as he turned his attention away from the steaming kettle to the clock on his wall back to the kettle. He had been this way for a few hours trying to figure out how he was going to confront the boy in his room when he woke up. The sound of the rain on the windowpane, and the ticking of the wall clock were the only sounds in the quiet apartment for a while. That is until a rather loud thud sounded from inside his room. It seems as if my house guest is awake... I am not ready for this confrontation. Taking a sip from the tea cup in front of him, David mentally prepared himself before getting up and leaving the cup on the counter. He had no clue how he was going to address his 'guest' but it would be rude of him to just ignore him now that he was awake.
∻ "Um hello? I'm coming in now so please don't be alarmed." He a said, knocking on the door gently. After a moment of hesitation David turned the door knob and slowly pushed the door open enough to see Luther on the floor. "Oh dear what have you done? You shouldn't of tried to get out of bed after losing so much blood and on top of that I'm pretty sure you arnt used to having legs considering your um... Tail. Though I will leave my questions for later." He babbled quietly as he went over to help the boy back into the bed. He propped a couple of pillows behind Luther's back before pulling the blanket up to the Mermaid's waist. It felt weird welcoming a random stranger- especially a mermaid- into his home so willingly but it's what his mother would of done so it is what he will do... Even if his guest was t supposed to be real. Today was just such a strange day.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? [{(ⓞ•ⓞ•ⓒ• Ey! It took a lot longer then I had expected but I am now replying! Sorry for the wait since returning home from Canada one thing just kept popping up after another and I momentarily lost track of my life. Thank you for being patient!)}]

Luther could hear sounds from the other side of the entrance to the room. Of course....Dad said the humans speak English. Lets see if I can remember those classes I took. Luther shrunk back a little when he saw the human enter the room but it seemed the human was docile seeing as the first instinct in the male he saw was to place him back onto the soft surface again. But what the human had said caught his attention, the word 'tail'. Luther didn't have enough time to say something as he was being placed back onto the soft thing but once he was settled Luther thought it was best to try and communicate with his captor. "U-um......I....." Luther started out but he was having trouble. What were the words to express gratitude again? They were odd words, I remember thank much.... After some thought, the words came to him. "Th...Thank.....you." he managed to force out, though he wasn't sure how he would go about telling the man his name, since he believed it was only appropriate. Luther placed his hand on his chest to gesture toward himself. "L-Luther." He hoped the man was able to understand at least that much, he wasn't sure how else to say his name. ((Don't worry about it, my life is starting to turn upside down too, with graduating from school and my great grandmother being sick.))

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ Frowning a little when the boy shrank away from him David desided to give the boy some space. He figured that it must be pretty strange waking up in a new place. "Um no problem. Sorry about bring you back to my place... I didn't know what else to do." He mumbled akwardly. He really did feel bad for bringing to injured boy back to an unfamiliar place. It wasn't fair to the poor boy to undergo the stress of the unknown. "Oh um I'm David... And I'm going to take a wild guess and say that you don't speak much English. Um that's fine. Can I uh, get you anything? Some water, or something to eat? Or Mayans you need to get back to the ocean? I can help you get back but it's raining right now... Though I doubt you really mind the rain much seeing as how well... Can I ask? Are you actually a mermaid? Wait a second! That was a personal question. Ignore me if I make you feel uncomfortable." He babbled nervously, tugging on a strand of his hair. And old habit he had developed from his mother at a young age.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? [{(ⓞ•ⓞ•ⓒ• Aw I hope your great granny gets better. Luther watched the human skeptically, he remembered all of the horrible tales his father told him about humans going to war with each other and killing animals or anything they didn't understand. The human sure did ask a lot of questions though, he was just glad he could understand more of the human language than he could speak it. "H-Human......bad...." Luther managed to say, though he knew he must sound like a child with the way he was speaking. "Not know.....speak human." he said softly, pulling back the soft cloths that lay on top of him so he could look at his feet but they didn't look too bad. That didn't mean everything was okay though. Not even bothering to cover his intimate area, he looked back up at the human who seemed to be helpful enough so far. Any other human might have either left him to die on the beach or killed him right off the bat. "Water...?" he asked softly, needing to see his tail to figure out just how much damage there was.

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ "Am I bad? I think I would of been bad had I just left you on the beach but i don't think I'm bad. Though if you are talking about Humans in general then yes I guess you could say that Humans are bad but then again not all of us are bad. There are those that kill the ocean but then there are a few that wish to save it. And then there are people like me who just leave it alone. The ocean is to dangerous of a place to mess with. It's pretty to walk along and look at through my window but I will not swim in it. To dangerous." David rambled before cringing at how repetitive he sounded. He would have to fix his nonsense babbling. "Hm? Oh you probably speak 'Human' very well. Though your English could use some improving. Hunans speak more then just English you know. We have thousands of languages that we speak. Sadly I only know one language and... I'll shut up now I have probably already frightened you with my consistent babbling. Um I will go uh get your water. Just relax and I'll be right back!" He said stepping away from the bed and hurrying out into the kitchen.
∻ How do you talk to Merfolk? He wondered curiously as he pulled a glass down from his cupboard and filled it under the sink. He was turning off the sink when a thought hit him. "Can Mermaids drink fresh water?" He asked himself quietly as his eyes wandered towards his salt shaker. "It is sea salt... Screw it I'll take him the salt shaker with the cup. If he wants the salt it will be there." He sighed, grabbing the salt shaker on his way back to the room. Here he was trying to please a boy he had never met before. Maybe his sisters were right. He was to kind for his own good. "Um I wasn't sure if you wanted salt in your water or not. Though I have sea salt in this little shaker here if you do. You have to grind it out so if you have any trouble I'll help you." He said calmly as he walked up to his nightstand and set the cup, and shaker down close to the boy. He would of sat down on the edge of the bed but he didn't want to risk upsetting the boy further by getting closer.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? [{(ⓞ•ⓞ•ⓒ• )}]

Luther stared at the man as he spoke for the next few minutes. He almost had no idea what the human in front of him was talking about. This human certainly did like to talk a lot, he began to wonder if the human knew he couldn't understand him.
He took the foreign object and looked at it for a moment, it was almost like he was holding the water itself! Luther flipped the soft cloths back, not bothering to cover his intimate area, and splashed the water onto his feet. Luther's red and blue tail slowly appeared and he stared in shock at his mangled fins. Luther bent his tail a little and reached down to touch them but soon winced at the pain of his own touch. "Caniculae..." Luther said softly. There was no way he could swim like this but he had no idea how to repair it, or if his fins could be repaired to begin with. The only way his people could repair their fins was with magic from his father's trident, though that was often a myth. He had never seen something like this done before. Luther balled his hand into a fist and punched the bed. Once his tail had dried it disappeared and his two ugly legs showed again. Luther scoffed in disgust and put the soft cloths back over his lower half.
