Slipping quietly down the stairs Erionda silently navigated the creaky wood until she was safely at the bottom. Checking to make sure no one had heard her slip quietly from her room. While Uassae and Lanzecki weren't nearly as insistent she stay within the home, she couldn't quite say the some for some of her other guests. Flicking her hair over her shoulder Erionda turned towards the door freezing as she found Uassae tucked neatly in a ball against the wooden frame. Perfectly blocking her exit from the house.

Erionda Tip-toed quietly towards the wall she hung her sword and shield against. If she wanted to escape the house to do a little hunting she would have to do it now, while it was still early enough everyone was likely to be asleep.

Junjie and his Drakein were, for at least the time being, staying on at Rio's place. Partly so that he could continue hunting in Aisko with a safe place to rest at night but mostly to keep an eye on his friend. She was a stubborn sort and he worried that she might try to push herself too hard even in her current condition. A part of him worried that Kilian alone wouldn't be able to wrangle her and keep her resting, not because he didn't trust the Oblivionite but because he just didn't think she'd sit still. An assumption that was proven right given that the other hybrid was trying to sneak out of the house.

Junjie opened his eyes slowly when he heard the sound of foot steps coming passed where he was currently sleeping, glancing first toward his Drakein to make sure that it wasn't either of them. It would appear not though, Abellio and Arjan were both snoozing away still within arm's reach of Junjie in case he turned out to need them. Sitting up slowly he rubbed the back of his hand against his eyes before glancing around, before he pushed to his feet. Giving a great yawn he padded toward the sound of foot steps and found himself starring at his friend as she fetched her sword and shield. He starred for a moment before asking in a curious manner, "Early morning walk?" He doubted it, but he would give her the benefit of the doubt. He much rather it be that then anything dangerous, as a healer and as her friend he'd much rather she didn't go off fighting those prickly Aiskala any time soon.

Erionda startled at Junjies voice. Her shoulders tensing and her head slowly turned to face the owner that was speaking to her. Smirking slightly, Erionda gave a side glance towards the door. She had no intention of going for just a walk, she wanted to be hunting. To feel her imprinted weapon slice through the flesh of a creature. Being cooped up inside was starting to make her feel stir crazy. She was itching to be out in the cold.

"W-well, uhm... N-not really?" Erionda stuttered, shifting from foot to foot. "I just... I need to get out for a little bit at least." Clicking the last of the buckles for her gear into place Erionda glanced nervously back towards Junjie's direction. "You wouldn't keep a woman hostage in her own home... would you?"
PostPosted: Thu Dec 19, 2013 5:37 pm

Junjie tilted his head to one side, seeming to be deep in thought, before he gave a smile, "How about I go with you?" He suggested, giving a flutter of his wings. He didn't want to let her go out there alone, not in her condition, but maybe she would rather go with her lover? He thought about that for a moment before adding, "Or would you rather Kilian goes with you?" He figured either way would be good, so long as she wasn't alone. She was more delicate now... not that he would say that out loud, not wanting to seem as though he were challenging her or something... he would rather just tag along if she allowed it.

"I will leave it up to you, either I can fetch Kilian for you or I can get ready and go with you myself." He said, giving his friend a smile. He was fine either way, so long as someone was with her.

Glancing up the steps towards the bedroom Erionda shook her head. "I don't want to wake him up." Rubbing the back of her head she looked at Junjie out of the corner of her eyes and shrugged. It couldn't really hurt to have more help while she was out hunting. She doubted she would be able to hunt alone, at least Junjie seemed alright with letting her go if he tagged along.

with a mischievous smile and a flick of her hand she pulled the front door open. "So if you want to come along I would be ok with that." Pausing as her face paled at the snowstorm raging outside her front door. "Well that puts a damper on things doesn't it."

"Your fault you know." Uassae rumbled returning to the door with Lanzecki behind him. "We will get you through your own mess and then we can finally start hunting." He was just as eager as Erionda to dig his teeth and fangs into the flesh of another creature and feel fresh blood on his maw.

together the bonded trio moved out of the house through the snowstorm, glancing back to Junjie from time to time until they were free of the biting ice. Sucking in a deep breath Erionda stretched as much as her body would allow, groaning when it didnt seem to relax the tension in her back. Touching her swollen belly the sound of crunching snow pulled her head to the right. It was a hastar!

When Rio agreed, allowing him to go along without a fight, Junjie was quick to hurry over to where he had things. They were all resting against a wall, out of the way, and he was quick to pull on his boots, his cloak, and grab up his staff. By the time that was all done Abellio and Arjan were both up, seeming as though they were ready to go as well, not wanting to miss another hunt if that was what they were doing today. It seemed that Junjie got into a lot of battles when he was hanging out with Rio or so Abellio seemed to think, something that was a bit spot on since the two hybrids did seem to hunt together a lot.

"Can you carry the pack, Abellio?" Junjie asked before putting it over the feathery Drakein's back, giving him a hug as well as his thanks before he motioned to them, "Stay close to me." He said the moment the door opened and he saw the storm that was still raging outside. It was the oddest side effect that he'd seen or heard about for someone who was carrying but he would be sure to make note of it and talk to his mother about it later. Best to ask her about it, to see if it was something that she'd seen before now. If not it would be a good thing for her to take note of as well.

Wrapping his cloak around himself, as well as making sure that his Drakein were alright, he headed out into the snow after Rio. As much as his Ysali self balked at all of the snow and ice he wasn't about to let her wander off on her own. Instead he would go with her, keep an eye on her, and make sure that she and her baby weren't harmed by... well, whatever it was that they were doing today. He hadn't even thought to ask, he just hoped that it wasn't something as big and dangerous as a dragon, that was just off the table! Not that he thought Rio would be too pleased with that thought.

The sound of crunching snow caused Junjie and his pair of Drakein to turn in sync, looking toward the hastar. While Junjie and Abellio were studying it Arjan turned to Rio and asked, "Are we going to eat that?" He hoped so, it looked tasty!

Taming:

91 + 20 (familiarity)+5 (Junjie) + 20 (drakein) - 5 (Drakien) - 20 (capture bonus) = I succeeded

Erionda gave the younger Keindred a quizzical look. Eat it? He better not even try, this was a good opportunity to catch a new mount. One that would be far sturdier in battle and less likely to flee at the tiniest provocation like her Soudulian hastar. She narrowed her eyes warningly at Arjan. "Lay a single tooth on it and I'll seal your muzzle shut with ice."

Turning her head to the side she nodded to Uassae, watching as he leapt happily into the air. Lanzecki giggled as he pranced away to the left. "This is a mount, and a sturdy one too. Better than the Hastars I keep in the barn at home. And one I've been trying to catch for ages. If we spread out evenly and keep it within an enclosure I'm sure we wont have any problem."

Giving Junjie a smile Erionda tilted her head. "Capturing a house pet or a working animal is better than hunting out here. As much as I want to kill something, I wont risk Kilian's child for my own selfish sanity." Something had nagged at her she needed to tell Junjie what she was planning, just in case he was nervous that she might want to hunt something alot more powerful.

"After we catch it I'll try to tame it. The Drakein are good for scaring it. But I want it to trust me." Erionda finished her eyes turned towards the creature.

Arjan looked up at Rio for a long moment, clicking his teeth together, before nodding his head. He supposed that it was no where near worth getting his mouth sealed shut... he'd see about getting Junjie to catch them something else to eat. There were other animals about, they were just harder to find in this awful snow he thought to himself, giving a full body shake to remove some of the snow that was clinging to his hide. Being without the clinging snow wouldn't last but he could enjoy the small repreive.

"A mount, huh? I see how one could be useful in this area." He murmured, watching how easily the hastar was able to traverse the snow, doing so in a manner that Junjie doubted he'd ever be able to do. To have one of those to ride around on would be quite useful for Rio, not to mention that sort of creature would help her out a lot in her condition. She could let it carry her, carry her stuff, and various other uses, "Alright, we should definitely get that for you." He said, giving her a smile.

When Rio spoke next, telling hi that she was just wanting to tame things, that she wouldn't risk the child, he gave a nod, "Sounds good... but since there is a chance something will want to start a fight with you I will stick around just in case." He didn't really know much, if anything, about taming but he would be here to play bodyguard in case something dangerous or scary showed up. He didn't mind taking on the roll of back up until Kilian woke up and took over he thought to himself. Giving a smile he then asked, "So... how do we go about getting the hastar then? What do you usually use when trying to catch them?" He figured that he and Abellio could try to summon forth some vines if they were needed though it was difficult to say the least given the terrain and snow.

"Rope usually." Erionda mouthed with a breathy whisper. Trying not to let the Hastar in on what she was planning. Reaching up behind her as best she could, Erionda produced two sets of rope. "Here," Erionda nodded and tossed one towards Junjie. "We need to tie it up before it can cause any damage. Be careful these are fierce creatures. Not like the Hastar on Soudul or on my barn, these will fight back. Lanzecki will use wind from one direction to stop it from pulling back. If you and Uassae catch it on either side and stop it from bolting away I can approach and attempt to tame it.

Tossing the rope into the air just as Uassae circled back around and took hold of the rope. "Normally it's just Uassae, Lanzecki and myself. But with extra hands I'm sure this can be done easily."
PostPosted: Thu Dec 26, 2013 3:49 am

Rope? He wasn't sure what he thought about that but given that their group was a sizable one it should be alright to do this, right? They would keep Rio and her unborn child safe he thought to himself as he took the rope that was tossed to him, inspecting it for a moment, then found himself thinking that this would be so much easier in say, Serenia. At least there he would be able to summon his vines at will and manipulate them a whole lot easier he thought thought to himself as he set to work tying a lasso with the rope. He'd do his best to make sure that they got the hastar roped and held so that Rio could work her magic and tame it.

"Please be careful." He said to Rio, giving her a lopsided smile. With her talking about how the hastar was fierce and would fight back he couldn't help but to fret a bit. Still, he'd come along with her to help her out so that meant doing just that. He was her healer, sure, but he was also her friend... and as such he need to let her have some free range. Otherwise she might sneak off on her own a lot more often and that was something he worried about a lot. He didn't want to see her get hurt after all, "Alright Abellio, Arjan, we are going to see about trying to catch the hastar on her mark. You two hold onto the rope since you are stronger then I am." Were the thing to bolt it would probably drag Junjie along but if it had to contend with the combined weight of Abellio and Arjan he didn't think it would be as easy.

Once the two Drakein took hold of the rope he looked over at Rio and nodded, "Ready when you are." He said, giving her a smile, hoping that the hastar wouldn't put up too much of a fight. He prayed to both Seren and Abronaxus that things would go smoothly from here on out... though he found himself wondering if, since Rio's baby was part Oblivionite, if he should offer a prayer to the dark goddess as well. Might be a good idea, just in case.

Need to be over 50 in order to succeed at training roll

Erionda's hands flew to the sky in her signal. Nodding towards Junjie that this was the perfect opportunity. She watched as everyone worked together to capture the small Hastar. Her eyes trained on the small creature as she took a step forward. With Everyone surrounding from the sides and behind she was grateful for the small opening letting her approach the creature from in front.

This one was smaller than had initially been anticipated. A baby perhaps? If that was the case then luck really was on her side. Approaching slowly she watched as it fought and struggled against the confines. Baying with whale like eyes in fear. Rio made a small humming like sound as she rolled her tongue against the rush of air out of her mouth. She had learned the two hastar she currently had both calmed at the strange sound.

Pulling some fresh food out of her back on her leg Erionda stretched her hand out as she continued to move closer and a slow and steady pace. Once she was withing a good reach of the young Hastar, Rio crouched low to the ground. "I wont hurt you little one. I wont hurt you." She waited with her arms out full of food to the youngling. Patiently hoping it's curiosity would soon kick in.

Time seemed to move slower than ice to Rio as the Hastar slowly calmed down. Even longer before the tiny creature accepted the food from her hand. Giving a soft smile Erionda moved with increased slowness forming a small arena all around them. This would allow her to keep the semi tame Hastar in within the area AND give her the ability to work with it. To train it.

Once the ice barrier around them had been fully erected. Erionda's hands clasped onto the rope. Freezing the two sections until they could snap free of the hastar. Pushing herself slowly to her feet Erionda glanced back at Junjie.

See, she wasn't hurt yet
PostPosted: Fri Dec 27, 2013 5:01 pm

It was only after the hastar had been lassoed that Junjie was able to relax even a bit, though he still couldn't help but to hold his breath as she started to approach it. As she did though he started to realize that the hastar was a lot smaller then expected. From a distance it looked intimidating but when Rio got closer it looked smaller then he'd first thought that it was. He looked over at his Drakein and said, "Hold the rope tightly." Small or not he still couldn't help but to worry a bit. Even something small could be dangerous if it was crossed he thought to himself.

The hybrid stood there, body tense, watching his friend as she continued to close the distance, taking it slowly, speaking to the creature, seeming to do all that one needed to do to make friends with a creature. The hastar seemed as though it might be interested too, at least he sure hoped so. If the creature was open to the idea of being friends with Rio then things would go more smoothly. Time seemed to pass slowly, almost painfully so, but after a time the creature was taking food from Rio, a sure sign that she was making progress with it. Food, huh? That was a good idea, sharing food with the little hastar.

After that was done Erionda used her power to build an enclosure for the hastar, to keep it from running away. She then removed the ropes from the hastar, letting it have a bit of freedom. His Drakein let go of the rope that they were still holding onto, something that Junjie picked up, coiling it up, before handing it to Abellio, "Hold this for me." He said before walking over to Rio, "Good job." He said, glad to see that she had her hastar and that she was still healthy and unharmed.

Erionda beamed at Junjie. She had successfully tamed an Aiskalan hastar. Her hands continued to stroke the small creatures neck. "Thank you Junjie. I wouldn't have been able to do this with you!" A small shudder in her stomach caught her by surprise. Shaking her head at the strange sensation. She moved to the side of the Hastar. Part of her wanted to climb on the new younglings back, but thought better at the sharp reminder.

"Junjie would you help me here? I need someone who is willing to slowly work their way onto it's back. Start with a small amount of pressure, then lean on it's back. Don't get on quite yet. Need to get her used to being mounted first."
PostPosted: Sat Dec 28, 2013 2:47 pm

Junjie's wings gave a little flutter under his cloak before he gave a smile, "It was nothing, I am glad that I could help." He said, giving both Abellio and Arjan each a pat on the head before walking closer to the enclosure so that he could get a better look at the hastar. He'd been traveling for some time now but he'd never seen one of these that close up before now. It was kind of neat, getting to take in the look of them, the way they moved, and otherwise enjoy the sight of them, "I bet that this one will be quite useful to you when it gets bigger." If the hastar could be trained to carry things for Rio that would be quite useful, especially when she had her little one and had that much more stuff that would need to be carried around he thought to himself.

"Eh?" As Rio asked for help he was instantly nodding before he even knew what it was that he was supposed to be doing but when he realized what she wanted him to do he turned to stare at the hastar, "Work my way onto its back." He mused, looking for a moment thoughtful before finally nodding, "I will see what I can do." He wasn't too worried, if he got roughed up by the hastar as least he could heal himself? And if not Junjie himself then Abellio would be able to do it. He felt as though it should be alright, so long as he went about it at a slow, easy pace just as Rio had done when taming the little beast.

Motioning to Abellio he handed his pack and staff over to the Ysali Drakein, "Watch these for me, please." He said, giving Abellio a smile before he climbed into the enclosure. Once inside he took a deep breath, held it to steady his nerves, then let it out slowly as he approached the hastar.

Smiling as Junjie passed his pack off to his companions she waited until he was ready to approach. Picking up the discarded rope on the ground she fastened a sturdy halter out of it. Slowly she introduced the new creature to the object. Slipping it around the Hastar's face and turning back to Junjie. "I'll hold it steady so it wont bolt away while you're working on it."

Her eyes scanned over Junjie sizing him up to the Hastar. Extending one of her hands out to the ground she built steps out of ice that would help Junjie reach the Hastars back. Just in case he wasn't familiar with how hard it was to get on a creature without any saddles or other contraptions to help. Giving him some height would help.

"Remember, slower the better. And we don't want to push it to far to fast. Just because it's doing well doesn't mean it wont snap for no reason." Erionda touched her belly tenderly. She wanted to be the one to climb on the Aisko Hastars back, but she knew she couldn't risk it rearing or bucking and causing her to tumble to the ground. An accident like that could risk her child in the process.
