She had no idea were this thing had come from. She had been patrolling, something she was still getting used to. In an area of town she wasn't very familiar with. It was a ways away from the part of town she lived in, which was her plan. She had been assured no one would recognize her in her powered up state, but it was still a little hard for her to believe.
But SHE still recognized herself. Which was sort of the problem. She had been strolling down a street, floating between pool after pool of streetlights, and she saw... herself? Sitting demurely on the edge of a rock wall, just watching her.
It was a horribly disconcerting thing, to see ones self, like a reflection, moving independently. and then she had simply attacked. No warning, no reason, just swiftly and viciously.
That had been some time ago. Somehow they had ended up in a relatively dark street, little more then an alley, obviously used as a loading area for the establishments of the street, rolling doors that were often attacked to storage areas were prevalent. One of which she was now pinned up against.
Oh sure she had gotten a few licks in, the shade version of herself leaking grayish blood from the corner of its mouth were the REAL Teallite had managed to elbow her. Their outfits were ruffled and dirty, from tumbled to the ground. But now it seemed the shade had the upper hand, its dainty hands clamped around Lt. Teallites throat, squeezing in a vice like grip, making spots dance across her vision even as she clawed and scratched at the Doppelgangers face.

'Hero' was rarely Ilmenite's role -- hadn't been his role since, perhaps, Queen's Gambit had lead the charge into BMC headquarters. A long time ago, back when he spoke before he thought and enjoyed nothing so much as making Zink turn shades of purple -- Well. There was always time for the unexpected, wasn't there? The blip of a lieutenant on his signature was enough to catch his attention, and the familiar flash of black-and-lace drew him in closer. Not just a lieutenant, but one who was his. Who belonged to him, perhaps. And she was in danger. Maybe he wasn't the most experienced when it came to combat, but he had been training with Xenotime, had faced off a bit against Zac, was in better shape than he ever had been before... And he was an excellent shot. Even from the end of the alley, he could hit a limb with his bolas, the cord wrapping around one of the shade's arms and the balls cracking against its flesh. There it would stick in place, a weight that couldn't be removed for a good twenty questions. He puffed out a breath and followed, to make sure the girl was alright.

Lt. Teallite was pulling her hand back to make another swipe at the shade's ace, her fluffy excuse for a weapon laying on the ground, at her feet, her fingers curled so her nails would do as much damage as possible, when suddenly something came fling out of no were, wrapping around one of if its arms, and luckily, due to her position of currently trying to strangle the life out of Teallite, the other as well, one of the balls snapping around the other, pulling her elbows together with a painful cracking sound.
Which, conveniently let Teallite breath again, as the shade let out an angry screech, an enraged sound that you would expect to hear more from an animal then a human. Teallite pushed out her arms and darted to the side, tripping and just landing on her knees, The shade tripped and foundered for a moment, her arms pinned awkwardly in front of her at the elbows. As Ilmenite drew near she scrambling back up, her hands at her tender throat as she gulped down air into her starving lungs.
It was the most wonderful air she had ever tasted in her whole life.

Honor? Fair fights? Mano-a-mano? Who gave a s**t about that. Ilmenite wasn't quite sure what the creature was, but it had been fighting one of his -- had been strangling one of his, had been damned close to winning -- so any fairness went right out the window. Instead he went for the sucker punch, trying to catch the thing while it was still off-balance, and send it the rest of the way to the ground. Teallite was fine, for the moment. She could cope, given a little time to recover. Better to neutralize the threat, first.

Teallite gave a little shake of her head, trying to free herself of the red spots that had started to spread across her vision. They faded away as her lungs flooded with blissful oxygen.
Ilmenite punched the shade in the face, and it hit the ground with a forceful thud, its head hitting the ground in a manner that would have made Teallite wince if the site hadn't been so damn satisfying.
So satisfying in fact, that the young Lieutenant turned on her heel, bending one knee, and giving the shade a swift kick to the jaw. Already the skin around her neck was busing to faint colors that skin was just not meant to be, the first blossoming of bruises. She had no delusions that the look alike was going anything other then trying to kill her.
" Ilmenite, What the hell is that thing? " Her voice cracked a little, and she really hoped that the her superior officer would attribute it to having just been choked, not the fact that she was more then a little scared and a copy cat version of herself had poped out of the wood-work and tried to off her in a dark alley.

"it's not a youma..." It came slowly, his head cocked to the side -- and he twisted two fingers in the air to bring his bolas back to hand, already spinning as they appeared out of nowhere. It had been a while since Ilmenite had fought anything in earnest, but that didn't mean he was out of practice. It just meant that lamp posts, fences, beer cans had been his targets, recently. Really, his aim was better for the practice. So he let fly at the shade, this time aiming for the throat instead, trying to choke it as it had choked his recruit. "...and it's not order, either."

Well, that was a chilling thought. While Teallite wasn't completely sure about the rules of this war, one of the few things she was certain about was that people fell into three catagories.
Civilian. Order. And Chaos.
If it wasn't a renegade Youma, and it wasn't order...
" Well that's not comforting at all. " she said quietly, stepping momentarily out of grasping range of of the shade who had doubled over, hands grasping at her own face from the swift kick the real teallite had dealt it. The shade collected itself and lowered its arms just in time for Ilmentites bolas hit its target, the shade making a strangling sound as it thrashed and choked.
It looked like teallite, but it acted more animalistic then someone who had just taken her face.

" Well.. what should we do- " she started, not sure what they were going to do with it. Were they going to take it somewhere and try to question it? Were they going to send Tea light away and then maybe have someone follow it? There were so many questions left unanswered. Like did it take Tea's shape because it was the first it happened to come across, or was it on purpose? Would it change shape again? So much they could figure out fro it, but as she started to speak, the shade apparently gave up on trying to free itself, and instead decided to use its last few moments of consciousness to try and finished what it started.
It thrashed on the ground, and then did a swift roll, hands a gray copy of her own reaching out and grabbing onto one of her ankles, trying to yank it out from underneath her. If Tea's heeled feet haden't been planted for a fight in the first place, of maybe if the shade wasn't seconds away from passing out, it might have succeeded, but instead, tea let out an undignified little squeak, and pulled her ankle back, jerking the shade forward so that it slid on the concrete a few inches, switching her weight to that foot that the shade had latched onto, and without any true thought to her actions, gave another sift kick to the shade to the shade's face.
A Hard kick.
So hard she felt a sickening crunch of bone underneath her boot a split second before the shade disintegrated into pale gray dust. Teallite was so used to sometimes being small, sometimes she forgot that chaos had granted her a strength that was disproportionate to her small stature..
" Oh... well... Ooops? " she shook her foot slightly, and stepped back from the mess, and shareing another what the ******** look with her General.
