On most days, especially less foggy/monster filled ones, Otto could be found outside. Ever since getting a skateboard from Candace last Christmas, he'd been honing his rusty skill on the board. Down stairs, railings, or other tricks on less angled surfaces. It was a much more fun way to keep in shape, control his muscles, and get some fresh air.

He'd always looked for places less frequented by other hunters. Camera shy, stage fright, performance anxiety; These were all things Otto probably suffered from.

Sometimes, Saya could hear sounds from the back. She always quickly passed by but recently, she realized it was a lot funner to watch than to walk by. She sat there, perched behind a wall, as she watched Otto's awesome skateboarding moves, chin in her hands.

A small spot of teal and yellow was peeking out, as Saya forgot to tuck her sash-scarf under her waist properly.

Saya liked to people-watch. In an cute and slightly creepy way. But she didn't want to bother people. That was the main point.

Otto felt eyes on him. More importanty, he saw someone hiding. He first assumed they didn't really see him or care, maybe taking a nap near the bushes. But after a while it was starting to bother him.

"Yo." He called out, letting his board get kicked up so he could hold it. "What're ya doing hidin' in the bushes? Didja die?" Were it not for the blonde and blue and lack of smell or broken glass, he almost assumed it was Mark ejected from the office again.

"I d-didnt die yet!" Saya answered automatically, sheepishly straightening up suddenly. Her eyes wide, from being caught, as she tried to fumble for an excuse. Her fingers linked and unlinked nervously, wondering how to phrase this situation.

"I-its just.. um.." She shook her head.

".. Your skateboarding was really cool and I figured if you went out this far, maybe you wanted privacy but I still watched anyways and uh--"

Saya glanced down at the skateboard in his arm and back up at the male. She knew him by name and face, recognizing he was often in Eva's company when she looked over.

".. i'm sorry."

She was caught in action.

Otto stared blankly as Saya rambled, a slow blink coming occasionally as he almost patiently waited her out. Flattery was something Otto automatically took as a warning to be cautious. Maybe the girl just wanted something from him. His eyes narrowed slightly, giving the girl a once over full of judgment.

"Whatever." He grumbled passively, scratching his ear. "Are you really that bored?" She had to be bored if she hid behind bushes to watch people skateboard secretly, right?

"Yer uuuh...." Damn there were too many hunters and not enough ******** to give. "....Sa....rah?"

. . .

Nailed it.

"Why.. would I be bored?" Saya asked, her eyes blinking blankly. Her eyebrows creased in puzzlement, tipping her head in thought. Would one follow someone if they were bored?

Her thoughts were interrupted by his attempt to identify her.

"Saya! The first half was right!" She smiled brightly, because that counted for something. Half right was pretty much all right with Saya. She glanced with restrained excitement, at meeting Otto and his skateboard. "If I were bored, I wouldn't come watching."

Pause.

"If you're going to kick me out, can I just ask to see one more trick?"

Her eyes looked like this: *U*!!

Oh. Saya. Cool, he got half right. Winner.

Otto gave her a long look, his mind whirring as he processed her request. More tricks? She actually found that interesting? He'd already done most of them... "How bout you try one?" Otto lifted his brows, holding out his board. It was only the two of them. What was the harm? It wasn't like she could break the board. She might break herself, but that wasn't his concern.

Saya looked at the board nervously, pretty sure she was going to make a spectacular fall but what else was there to lose? Besides injuries, which was a usual thing because of battle anyways. He was offering and she wasn't sure she would get a second chance with a board.

"U-Um, sure!"

She took the board, awkwardly larger than what her small frame was accustomed to. It awkwardly slid on the ground, as Saya put one foot on it tentatively. Then the other foot.

Then she rolled.

Slowly.

Forward.

She tried to shift her weight like she had seen the male hunter do many times but instead, it was an awkward tug of weight, wobbling the board's direction left and right. Obviously, they both knew that she wasn't going to make it out as any sort of pro skateboarder.

Oh this was just funny. Otto stood back, arms folded as he watched the pathetic display. He'd need to get Eva to try this, too. He imagined it'd be just as funny. He managed to keep from laughing, his expression flat as usual.

"Hm... try like... actually moving. And not just.. yanno... rolling." He wanted to see her fall.

If Saya knew Otto's evil intentions, she woul have teared up and softly cried foul but she didn't know it. She picked up her speed slightly fom Otto's words, the increased speed enabling her to turn. Unfortunately, it was right into the wall next over and she hadn't learned to stop yet.

The "ker-thunk" of her head against Deus's hardened walls was abnormally loud in the silent area.. but no fall yet. She just stood there, rubbing her sore forehead. Wincing, Saya felt the board start to give out from under her..

.. and in a flash, her weapon was summoned with a death grip and a fresh puncture in the wall, as her sword-bow allowed her to hold on while the board slipped out from under her feet.

The ka-thunk her head made was mildly worrying, since he was only toying with her. Luckily, she didn't actually seem hurt. Why would she be? The fact she felt the need to summon her weapon to regain her balance made him snort.

This kind of made him feel better, seeing her suck so terribly at it. It meant he was better at something than someone else, even if it was something as useless as skateboarding. He let the board roll toward him, picking it up as he passed it by on his way to Saya.

"You uuuuh..." Did she have a silly looking scuff on her forehead? "That's not how you turn." He sassed.

"Maybe thats a more unique way of turning." Saya timidly suggested in retort, lowering herself slowly and covering her forehead. Prompto retracted back into her bracelet, likely with some snide comment about her skateboarding. Her feet shakily touched the ground, relieved that it wasn't going to roll out from under her feet.

"Is there an easier way to turn, Otto?"

He made it look easy.

Should he help? Tenya was insisting that yes, yes he should help. Getting the boy to be sociable and pleasant was a bloody battle. "Hmm... Alright, here." Otto gestured for her to get back onto the board, and got a little more hands on in his teaching methods.

"Aight.. so like.. don't slow down so much when you're turnin.' You'll just fall. You gotta shift your weight like.." He tried to shift her while she stood in place, mimicking how she'd go around a turn.

"You're gunna fall like.. a lot. But try it anyway."

2 hours later, with candy and popcorn and a lot more falls.. and noticeably, more bumps and scrapes, Saya was the proud skateboarder of about four techniques: going, stopping, turning, and a little bit of a manual. It looked like there was a little more damage to Saya than the skateboard.

"thankyouthankyouthankyou so much Otto!" She cheered, clapping her hands together excitedly. It probably didn't seem like much for the seasoned male hunter but it was a milestone for Saya, taking Otto's hand to shake it profusely in gratitude.

And man had he needed that candy.

Two hours of teaching and Otto was beat. He wasn't much for teaching or helping or patience. He hated it, really. But for some reason or another, he stuck with it to get Saya started on the road to skateboarding. Why not? She was a nice girl. And let's be honest; Otto was a lot more willing to be patient with a girl than he was with men.

He gave a nod and a sheepish smile as Saya excitedly thanked him, letting her shake his hand. "S'whatever. Ya don't suck as much anymore. Now all ya need is your own board." Cause you ain't getting his.
