Final Plot

Taurus is originally a prize, blue ribbon stud bull from Gaia. Because of an act of god like valor by an animal, the celestial spirits brought him up and turned him in to the humanoid spirit Taurus. Now Taurus successfully runs the Celestial Ranch where he and his staff raise the stars before placing them in the heavens. Because this setting isn't conducive to a fancy gala, Taurus has decided to give Gaians a tour of his property so they can see exactly what goes into creating their starry nights. Along with Virgo, his milk maid and secret lover, they take the gaians on the tour of the ranch. As the tour proceeds, the rest of the staff (Kid, Shojo, and Chibi) start to notice that the stars are disappearing from their parts of the ranch and have to break the news to Taurus during the tour. Without the stars being properly raised and placed, there will be no more stars in the sky or worse they will turn into fallen stars and physically devastate the world below the Gaians live in.

Because he's needed to stop the tour to investigate the missing stars, Taurus soon discovers that an anti-celestial field has been put down over his ranch preventing ANY celestial magic from being used to solve the problem. So he has to turn to the Gaians and hope they will help him solve this mystery and save the stars. Because of the anti magic field, all he and his staff can do is herd the gaians toward helpful (or unhelpful) hints they find. But more than one mystery will be solved on the ranch. But who is doing this to the ranch? The other celestials? the ranch staff? The Gaians? Will the Gaians keep his and Virgo's secret or rat them out?

----Plot separated by days----

Day 1: The tour begins at the gate of the ranch. Taurus introduces himself as do the other hosts who are there at the time. From there the tour proceeds like a normal tour would. First stop Stables, then to the fields where the stars are. Then to the lake for a rest and meal break (Contests will be announced here, even though they have already begun). After this comes night time where stars raise into the sky and shoot off. Guests who are still in the tour are invited to break off and mingle. A break time for hosts for the night. You can still post, but nothing that advances the story.

Day 2: Day two will begin when Taurus or Virgo announces that the tour needs to meet up again at the ranch house for another meal. This will last until
Ophicus (played by robayn) Busts into the ranch, causing mischief and mayhem, while secretly telling Jessie and James ( Two group members who have been causing problems all day in day 1) That in order for them to get revenge on Taurus, they will need to kidnap the baby stars. Which they do with Ophi's guidance. The rest of day two will be spent trying to find the baby stars and their kidnappers. Hosts will try and help members, with no luck at all. This is when each area becomes specific.

Taurus will be all over the ranch, helping everyone. Virgo will be in the stables, Bootes will be in the field, Eri will be around her lake and river, and Bere will be in the house.

Day 3: Disheartened by the loss, the Hosts try everything they can to find clues still. This will go on until around noon, when one of the hosts finds a baby star, which leads to the group of tourist to follow the trail to Jessie, by himself and looking like He was betrayed. Tying him up they get little information out of him for awhile. Users can try all different kinds of ways to get him to talk, and Hosts will persuade the users to not be violent to him. After a few hours He finally talks, giving away Jessie's location.

They find her about to drop all of the stars off the side of the ranch. Reunited, they lament about how Taurus used to be a prized bull for their family generations ago. He was their one source of income until one day when he vanished. Leaving them to fend for themselves and soon they lost their farm, the rest of the family abandoned them, and Jessie and James grew up poor, their only inheritance is hate towards Taurus. Taurus, disheartened and feeling guilty admits that he was their bull. However he then tells them that their farm was a slaughterhouse, and he hated seeing his friends and family disappear. One day they took his mate, and he followed. Seeing exactly what a slaughterhouse was, he sacrificed himself by grabbing a lantern and charging into the building. It burned down around him, but he was able to save all the other bulls. That's what earned him the right as a constellation.

Both sides realizing each other was wrong, Taurus offers to give them one shooting star, able to grant them any wish on gaia. Sending them back after the star babies are returned unharmed. On gaia they see a shooting star and make a wish. They wish to have their farm back, and be good farmers just like Taurus.

The End.

You know, I never really thought about a ranch theme before i randomly came up with the idea, but now that it's here and we are doing it.....I feel I have to warn you. I play a lot of Harvest Moon. So Idea's coming from me may be inspired by that.

Or I guess living in one of the biggest farming/ ranch states doesn't hurt either...right next to the amish too......

I'll turn him into a flea, a harmless, little flea, and then I'll put that flea in a box, and then I'll put that box inside of another box, and then I'll mail that box to myself, and when it arrives..

We still need to polish out the details. But basically what Panda and I have come up with is this:

Taurus is originally a prize, blue ribbon stud bull from Gaia. Because of an act of god like valor by an animal, the celestial spirits brought him up and turned him in to the humanoid spirit Taurus. Now Taurus successfully runs the Celestial Ranch where he and his staff raise the stars before placing them in the heavens. Along with Virgo, his milk maid and secret lover, they take the gaians on the tour of the ranch.

It's Angel! whee heart

I think it sounds like a great synopsis! Just make the words all pretty, and I think you're set. I like how you're leaving so much open to the guests. yum_puddi

@Panda - I love Harvest Moon too. emotion_yatta

how about this for the Villain?

I could play it through Rumpleteza...or do you have something planned? o.o

oh and as for my character...will the ranch have a water area for the water based constellations / stars, and other areas for the different elements? I was sort of thinking mine could ferry people in the water section if that was the case...of course as this is a tour and we're not going to be able to complete it, I was wondering if we would have all the tour guides going around with the group and each guide would have their specific area of expertise?

So for the details you mentioned I imagine it would help to come up with hints before hand and have a list of them for reference so that during the ball hosts and co-hosts can choose the hints that best fit the situation (instead of relying on the guests to be at a certain part of the ranch in order to do the next hint) and that way the plot doesn't get hung up on one spot?

And yes, the ranch will have a water based area. As for how the tour is going to work exactly, I'm not 100% sure on that yet.

We don't actually have a plan for our bad guys yet. There's been a couple of different ideas thrown out.

► We all play double duty as bad guys on mules.

► Bad guys are NPCs as part of the story but not actually played.

I remember Angel's room had their villians as mules one year and it worked out really well so it wasn't confusing for any guests. I think having the "physical" presence of a villain makes it more fun, too.

But I'm not a co-host or anything so feel free to ignore me while I butt in razz

I totally forgot about Mahou's bad guy avatar sweatdrop However I've been thinking on that. While mahou's character may not be a top bad guy, what if she were an assassin like character sent to be the "face of evil" on the ranch.

I also like the idea of having to be ferry'd across a river, or even having a moat like setup around the ranch so she can go everywhere and help people out quickly.

yes, yes. We will know how the story can and will go before the start of the ball with hints and events. I do plan on having our games and mini events tied into this as well and give it a better purpose other than randomly popping up with a "oh it's 9 o clock, the art contest is starting". It would also be cool to have multiple endings as well, that way depending on how the gaians react and solve things, they will go down one of multiple roads. Since the forum is never shut down right away anyway, we can play out the other endings on the days after the ball ends to keep people interested too.

I already have a mountain of mules, whats one more? lol. and would you like to be a co-host? I kinda got the impression that you were taking a break this year.....

I was taking a break. I'm back now.

I'm not going to be a co-host in any of the rooms, but thanks for the offer. I'm keeping my participation this year focused on behind the scenes work so that I can better focus on that rather than having my focus divided. Plus the event itself is the biggest workload and that's where I'd like the break more than in the planning. If I attend it'll be as a guest (but at least a somewhat helpful guest.)
