I have edited the tile of this post, because I have now added rules. These rules state that it will be set in 1991. A year when Draco Malfoy and Harry Potter are in year one. However you may continue the story line as is going in here, to enjoy and have a good time with characters. What happens in this thread and that started in others will be different.

It had been over ten minutes since the Professor had lead Winter into the common room and introduced her to the empty room. Wondering where her house mates were, she sat down at a dark wood grained table and reached across to pick up a copy of the Daily Prophet.

"Hiliary Yunghill Captured
Hiliary Yunghill the witch accused of using magic in the muggle world to win the lottery has been captured by the Ministry of Magic. "The Lottery is a form that muggles use, a way to bet and make galleons. Any witch or wizard, who is silly enough to believe they should be able get away with such acts is very much mistaken." The Ministry stated earlier today.
In her defense Miss Yunhill said "I only did this because I thought it was the right thing to do, I know how these muggles let their galleons go to their head. What better way, than to let a witch have it."

Winter placed the paper down and a rather amused smile crossed her face.

Winter watched the other girl enter into the common room and sulked as they dashed into the dorm. "I guess, no one is actually going to join me." she sighed, picking the Rrophet up again and looking over what she had already read.

((since I obviously can't use my s/n for the Rp--I guess I'll just name my character Michael))

Michael entered the common room and looked around. He walked up to Winter and poked her "Hola." He reached into his pocket and pulled out a copy of the Daily Prophet. "Have you read about the muggle killings? Funny isn't it?" He said while laughing.

"Well I should say Muggle disapearances but it's still funny," he tossed her his copy of the Daily Prophet so she could read the article and sat down on a nearby chair.

Icy entered the common room. It was the beginning of term and a lot of Hogwarts students were still in the great hall, finishing their dinner.
Icy's original name was Ivoria, but nobody really called her that. She was icy, cold and cunning, so nobody could imagine her having such a pretty name like Ivoria.
She looked around the room and let herself fall on a chair, while she looked at the girl and the boy who were obviously discussing something which had been in the Daily Prophet. "Hi folks" she said and eyed the newspaper in interest. "Anything interesting in there?"

Nanie walked back down to the commone room and sat down beside Winter. She read over the story in the paper and laughed.
"Entertainment for the day it seems," she said, still holding the book that she retrived earlier.

Sigyne walked into common room, the enchanted stone wall closing silently behind her. Her ice-green eyes scanned the room, dismissively appraising the others in the room. It was her seventh-year, and she felt no need to go claim her space-- by this point people knew not to enroach on what she'd already claimed. A slight, malicious smirk crossed her features, before she settled back into an expression of indifference, pulling a shrunken book from the pocket of her robes and enlarging it with a flick of her wand.

She fell back gracefully into a large, plush green chair close to one of the tables-- dark to match the rest of the room. Some of the others in the room were focused on the Daily Prophet, and Sigyne snorted. Complete rot, the lot of it; turning into a "sensational" newspaper-- one that only advertised the misuses of magic, gossip, and muggle killing and baiting, and none of the politics behind it. Sigyne had heard about the recent deaths and arrests from her father before the Daily Prophet had time to cover the story, and the details had been startlingly different.

"Do you actually take that lot of rubbish seriously? It's getting worse than the Quibbler." Sigyne asked the four students off-handedly, a trace of a sneer as she brushed back the curls of her light blonde hair.

Juliette walked gracefully back into the common room to the sound of a familiar snort. "Good evening Sigyne," she said dryly as she plonked herself down in a close by chair. Juliette had found everything as it should be and so was in a fairly decent mood. In her second year someone tried to steal her bed and since then she always made sure everything was in order. Her deep green eyes flickered over to the kids reading the Daily Prophet. "You really need to find some better entertainment," she sneered at them as she let her limber figure slouch into the chair comfortably.
