Note: this is being designated as an ORP because of 3 players involved. if anyone else wants in, you can. just please contact us in thread or on skype; please? so it doesn't get chaotic or out of hand. xD Characters: Carmen, Yi, Akiko, their familiars, and Soal Setting: Taika a day late and dollar short of catching their Halloween festivities. Carmen was glad to be in town finally. The last two days had seen quite a bit of rain. Not that she hadn't seen her fair share of rain in Derya. Living in the port town made one well acquainted with rainy days. They came often enough, but while they traversed the continent, most of it had been dry. Probably too dry in that it had made her forget to expect a torrential downpour.
She would have been more soured about it except that she considered this entire trip an adventure. She had been taking it well enough, but she sure was happy to be in a town with walls. She hoped they could stay in an inn. She turned around to the others. "So.. how about it? Can we all just like.. pitch in and get an inn tonight? I'd sure like to sleep somewhere warm."

Yi, having become more relaxed around Carmen these past few days, slid up close to Carmen, slyly smiles and whispered, "And here I thought I was warm enough for you already."
He remembered their fist night on the trip and his grin got bigger. Then he said out loud, "An Inn would be great after all those nights on the road. Also wouldn't mind a warm bath either."
He would ask about a bathhouse from the innkeeper, and also a laundry for their things. Carmen might like fresh clothes to wear. He would go and get some scented soap for her and Akiko too as a little gift.
Their mother would send money if they needed it, her herb business was booming, though she kept it local. He wondered if she would expand to the big towns someday....
He shook his head and smiled at his two companions.--------------------------------------------------------- Akiko fussed over the Ka'eo that had regained it's strength the past few days, it's wound better, not infected thanks to the intricate care given to her when they first found her.
It actually began to speak a bit, but didn't want to be left alone if someone was not near.
Akiko looked at her companions and said, "When we find an inn, I will go and find a place to send our mother a note that we arrived safely. Then I will go to an apothecary to see what they have." She smiled at Carmen, "It will be so nice not to have to sleep on the ground tonight."--------------------------------------------------------- Felix stood next to Carmen and Yi, torn between who he wanted to be with. He didn't like big towns much since he could get lost easily.

Carmen's tail fluffed up and swirled around the bottom of her body. "Oh really? I might be inclined to agree if you were actually close enough to me at night to in fact keep me warm." She winked at him while simultaneously gently touching the tip of his nose with her finger. She smirked as she stooped down to pick little Felix up. She cradled him against her torso, her arms holding him firm and snuggly against her.
She led the way down a street. She had stopped to ask about the location of the inn. After being given some easy directions, they found themselves some while later at it. She was up at the desk making arrangements. She had money on her, and she had insisted to pay for at least this night. They'd see about if they needed more nights depending what happened while in town.
After being given the keys, she gave one to Akiko. "That's fine. Do whatever you want. I'm gonna see if our room has its own bath. If not, I think I'm gonna go see about that. I think a great soak would be wonderful." She set Felix down next to Yi as she made her way to their room to see what kind of accommodations these were.

[If Soal's color gets on anyone's nerves, or is hard to read, PLEASE! let me know. I don't mind changing it.]
Soal smiled wide to himself as he walked. The festival had been amazing, more so than he had originally imagined. It had definitely been worth the trip in his mind. Of course more than the festival, Soal had enjoyed learning a bit more about the mages of Taika. It had cemented his decision as a teen to become an alchemist, which he had begun to re-think recently. He trailed back to the inn, watching as many people continued to leave now that the festivities had passed. As for himself, he planned to stay a few days longer before heading back to Nuha. He pushed open the door to the inn and glanced over to see a group settling new accommodations and raised an eyebrow in curiosity. Most people were leaving, not coming. Nosy he walked closer as he moved for his room, nearly bumping into one of the females as she quickly turned toward the rooms.

Carmen's hairs stood on end. Whoa. That was close. Almost totally ran into someone not paying attention to where she was walking. Being a little too of a mind thinking of a bath or spa or anything really. Just somewhere to relax and enjoy the comforts of being indoors.
She backed up with a hand on her chest. "Oh. I'm... so sorry! I really need to watch where I'm going. I didn't step on you; I hope? Or.. your tail..." She made a half cringe half apologetic face at him.

Yi smiled as she touched him on the nose. He followed her down the street to the inn, thinking how he could slip away to get those soaps for them before they slipped away for a bath.Felix snuggled into Carmen's arms, blissfully unaware of anything.--------------------------------------------------------- After getting the key to his room, Yi asked about a bathhouse near by and was told the inn provided one. After getting some details about that, he asked about a laundry service near by as well. After getting this information, he turned to inform Carmen and Akiko
Yi watched the exchange between Carmen and a new Kyresue. He checked quickly for any of the signs one of Ferren's followers would have, and then smiled at the awkwardness of it all. All was good when he saw the clear, green eyes.
He smiled at Akiko reassuring her that the newcomer was not under the influence of the evil god. He then waited till Carmon was not busy to interrupt.
"Carmen," Yi said trying not to interrupt, "I asked the innkeeper if there is a laundry service for your clothes. You can have them washed so you can have them after a long bath." He smiled and said, "They provide robes and towels as well."Seeing that the new male Kyresue was not a follower of Ferren, Akiko relaxed significantly. She then looked up at Yi and said, "I will be back later to take a nice long soak. But first I have somethings to do in town." she looked around the group and said, "Please excuse me."
She then walk off to find a messenger service and the apothecary with the little Ka'eoYi waved her off. The Innkeeper said the shop across the street sold some soaps he would be interested in. "I have to be off too. I'll be back soon, so don't take that soak before I get back!" He chuckled at himself as he looked at Carmen when he said that. With that winked and then took himself off. Before he walked out the door, he turned back and said, "Please look after Felix? He doesn't like big cites, and I don't want him lost."

Soal's eyes widened in shock as he stepped back. "No! I should be the one apologizing. I'm fine, but what about yourself?" At teh mention of his tail he turned to check, making a show of it. "No no. I think the tail will survive." He smiled warmly at her comrades as they each approached and excused themselves. "Travellers? You just missed the festival, or are you here for something else?" He didn't mean to come across as nosy, but he was by nature quite curious.

Carmen looked sideways at Yi. She narrowed her eyes at him. For someone who had trouble talking to her here and there on the way here; he all of a sudden found his ability to talk. She looked back up at this kyr she almost ran into. Hmm.. Well, it was too soon to tell why that all was. She just waved at the two leaving the inn.
Then, her attention returned to the boy she almost ran into. "Psh. I'm fine. I should think the only thing that was in danger there was my pride. I'm sure it'll be ok. Well, we intended to come for the festival. I guess we just left to late to get here. It was kind of a spare of the moment decision to come here. I had never really traveled outside of my hometown before, so I didn't even really know how long it'd take."
Hearing they had missed the festival, she sighed. She was afraid of that by lack of decorations and activities in the street. She was sure it had been a grand time, and she had missed it. Drats. "Aw. Did you come for the festival? Was it fun? I bet it was fun." She wanted to facepalm, so she just buried her face in the back of Felix's head instead.
"Well, the name's Carmen. Where are you from? We came from Derya. Well, actually, I am not sure where those two are from originally. I only met them the night I left town."

Soal smiled sympathetically, as he shook his head. "You just missed it. But I'm sure the trip here was worth the experience. Right?" He nodded as she spoke. "Well, now you know for the future." When asked about the festival he fell silent as he thought back on his own experience of it. "I did, partialy. The festival gave me an excuse to come and do something I'd had been wanting to do for a while now. It was quite fun in my opinon, and very much worth the trip. A little cramped though. Then again, I'm not overly social so...perhaps for someone who was it would have been different." She seemed so excited, that he didn't mind humoring her. He gave a slight bow as she introduced herself. "My name is Soal. It's nice to meet you Miss Carmen." He let out a low whistle as she spoke of being from Derya. "That's quite a trip for someone who's never left home. You have the makings of a fine adventurer. I'm from Nuha myself."

Carmen's tail fluffed and swirled back and forth around her legs at the mention of Nuha. That sounded distant. She tried to think back to maps in the courier shop her hume owned in Derya. She tried to remember some places things were sent to.
"Oh, so are you planning on returning there? Yeah. I guess I'll have to come earlier next year if I wanna see how great this festival is."
Her eyes watched him. He was a traveler also. She wondered if Derya was in fact such a long journey away. She wondered how far Nuha was. "Is that far? Nuha? Like, how long does it take to get here? Did you walk? or ... you ride with someone?"
She noted his comment about being social. Well, she would have to suppose herself was rather social. Not over the top social, but she had a desire to see and experience. That spurned her into action more often than not as of late.
She then flashed him a flirty smile. "Nice to meet you as well Mister Soal. You're quite welcome to say that anything involving me is the fine makings of anything as long as it's good." She had a half mused and light hearted giggle at that.
Her tail ticked behind her. "So, you're staying here too then?" Interesting. There was the ghost of a thought forming in the back of her mind.

Yi looked around the shop that the innkeeper had told him about. He rather liked it considering it sold mostly "girly things".
He took his time looking around and saw what he wanted. There were the local soap makers selection, now was the moment he was to choose what scent would go best with Carmen.
His sister's soap was easy, he knew what she liked, but Carmen's had to be just right.
He whittled his choices down, sniffing those local scents that he did not know, till he chose a scent that he had always liked as a child in his Hume's home.
As he waited to buy his things, some ribbons caught his eye. He saw a pair that would go great with Akiko, and one that went great with Carmen. He had just enough extra money to buy both. Akiko's birthday was soon, so it would be a great gift for her.
But he was uncertain when to give the ribbons to Carmen... He liked her a lot, but had no experience with the female species save his sisters and local Humes and Kyresue.
As he exited the shop with the wrapped ribbons and soap, he frowned at the ribbons and wondered why he felt so.... well, angry at himself.
He then made his way back to the inn, hoping that Carmen hadn't taken her bath yet.--------------------------------------------------------- Akiko had found what she needed at the apothecary. She was on the other side of town, but she was pleased she could take care of the little Ka'eo better than before.
She looked into the little sling pouch that she had placed the Ka'eo, and saw it was resting nicely. Now on to the messenger service to write a letter to her mother.--------------------------------------------------------- Felix snoozed in Carmen's arms as she cuddled him, blissfully unaware of anything else.

Soal nodded in answer to her first question. "I do, but not for a day or two. I'd like to enjoy Taika a little longer. Will you be staying for a bit?" He chuckled a bit at the last part. "A lesson learned now. And you can plan better for the next year. Yes?" Rather than answer her next question he simply reached into a bag at his side and produced a map. "You can look for yourself. It's close, but still a nice trip. I walked, it gave me time to think and really enjoy the views between here and there." He held the parchment out for her to take. "If you'd like, you can keep that one. I have others." He lightly blushed at her smile and slightly flirtatious tone. While he wasn't expressly interested in her, she was still a very attractive young Kyresue. Almost shyly his tail curled closer to his leg as he chose to focus on her final question instead. "For a few more days yes. How long will your group stay? Even with the festival over there's still many things to see and do here in Taika."

Carmen graciously accepted the map. "Thanks so much. A map will be super handy!" She opened it up to look it over. Why didn't she think to bring one with her? A slight oversight on her part in the fury and excitement of leaving town in the middle of the night as to escape asking permission or answering any questions.
Her eyes ticked up at him after looking at the map. "Well, that hasn't been decided yet. I came here for a reason, and that reason is no longer valid. We can see what all there is to do here."
She looked at the map some more as she considered what they should do. Of course, she should probably ask the others what they wanted to do. OF course, none of them owed her any obligation to any further with her. As it were, she had just nabbed them as they arrived in Derya. What if they wanted to go back there? She didn't want to go back there. Not yet.
"Oh hey! Well, I have an idea. You can totally say no to." She leaned towards him in a completely innocent manner. She then flashed her eyes she got when she was having ideas. It was the same look she got the night she was set on leaving town.
"Say... What would you think of... us going with you when you go home? Is that ok? Really I'm just out on an adventure and looking to do exciting things. Can call me a... rolling stone or something. I'm not looking to stick to any one spot. Just wanna do something exciting. See something exciting. Feel something exciting."
She shifted Felix into her other arm. She then suddenly realized perhaps she was being a little too enthusiastic. This kyr was gonna think she was a total creep. She decided to tone it down for a bit. Her mind wandered back to going for a soak and getting relaxed for the night.

Yi walked back into the inn. He hadn't been too long, his choices seemed to have been made rather quickly. He hummed to himself, happy with the little gifts he had purchased with his money.
He had worked hard beside his Hume to earn the money he had spent, and loved the thought of spoiling the two girls he liked the most.
He mentally sighed and wondered when Carmen had become dear to him as much as Akiko was. He mentally sighed again and thought that he liked Carmen differently than he did Akiko... Akiko was his sister after all....ew.
He opened the door to the inn and saw Carmen still talking to the new Kyresue.
"Still chatting?" he smiled warmly and winked at Carmen, "thought you would have gone for that soak."
"I'm Yi." he said sticking out a hand to the unfamiliar Kyresue, "Pleasure to meet you." He smiled brightly at him, genuinely happy to meet another male. As much as he loved his sister, being stuck around females for a long while made him feel like he had cabin fever.
He turned to Carmen and tightened the grip on the small bag with the soaps in them, and then scrunched up his face unsure on how to give her the gift.
He coughed and then started waving his hand saying, "I have something for you if you want it. Just come see me before you take your bath."
He scrunched his nose up at his shyness, excused himself, and then retreated to their room to get ready for his soak.

He frowned, opening his mouth to apologize for the inconvenience, before realizing that he would look a fool if he did. "Well, I hope you find something to do, to make up for missing the festival." He watched as she fell into thought, smiling as he closely examined her face and little twitches. You could tell a lot about a person just by watching how they acted while distracted. He leaned back in surprise at her sudden burst. That look in her eye was nothing but trouble, but he couldn't help but find himself intrigued. He fell silent as he considered her proposal. As far as he knew there was no harm in it, and he considered it pure evil to squash such inspired desire out of anyone. With a smile he looked up again to meet her eye and nodded. "I don't see why not. I'd be glad for the company." He'd have said more, but Yi's sudden appearance and then disappearance silenced him. He shook the other kyresue's hand. "Soal. The pleasure is mine." He watched as Yi retreated and let out a small chuckle. "Excitable, isn't he?"
