Shiloh hadn’t seen Quinn it what he had determined was far, far too long. He missed his neighbor, and being that Quinn was one of the first people Shiloh had met on the island, he felt a special sort of kinship for his fellow life hunter and friend. That, and he felt sort of protective over the quiet hunter, and had no problem dragging him along to things. Granted, the last time, it had ended up with giant monsters and blue goo but Shiloh was sure Quinn wouldn’t hold onto that forever. He never needed an excuse to stretch his legs, or to visit the training fields to blow off some steam, but company was always welcome and he’d sent Quinn a text, inviting him along for a friendly spar. Text From Shiloh Quinnie! Get your butt to the training field ASAP or I'm coming to get you! : P It might have been telling, more so than inviting, but Shiloh meant well.

There had been a question in his mind he was muling over for a few weeks now, that being? ...Should he try and be more social? In other words, instead of actually answering the question he stayed holed up in his mind and over thought things. That was what he did best though, something that Oki was pleasantly ignoring. The text made him jump and give a rather girly 'eep' as his pocket was suddenly vibrating. When was the last time THAT thing went off? Even so he propped open the message and frowned. Followed by another But then he realized how that sounded and typed some more. Text from Quinn Ah! I dont mean that i dont want to see you or anything i jus- He pressed the send button mid text, oops.

There was a bit of a pause. He did need to try and fight more... and he now knew that dropping the fear shield didn't mean death, thanks to Alaska. A longer Pause. Text from Quinn Grabbed my things, ill meet you there. True to his word, a figure moved towards the training fields a little while later.

Shiloh closed his phone, assuming, a bit presumptuously, that if Quinn said he was coming, he would be coming. There just wasn't any other option, because if Quinn didn't show up, Shiloh had no qualms going to his room and dragging him out there, entirely with a smile on his face. But it wasn't long before a figure appeared on the field, a figure that on closer inspection was indeed Quinn, and Shiloh grinned, ambling over to him and swing an arm over his shoulder. Shiloh was in his usual attire, jacket and all, and Haruko lay summon near the training dummies. He pulled Quinn towards them. "Glad you made it, Quinn! It's been awhile."

The arm swung ove rhis shoulder was a bit awkward, being as they were both roughly the same height. Even so Quinn slouched and managed. He originally reached out to put his arm around the other too, but shyly laid it back at his side a second later.
"I has been a while!" Quinn really had no excuse for his absence other than him falling back into anti-social ways. Quinn would have ended up coming to the fields eventually anyways, so dragging wasn't needed. It was more a matter of time. Shiloh was one of the first people he met on the island, so there would always be a bit of camaraderie there.
"How have things been?" He eyed the training dummies warily, not summoning Oki just yet. The way Shiloh was pressed against his side he didn't want to end up jabbing at the other.

When they reached the dummies, Shiloh let go, stepping away to collect Haruko. He coiled her chain around her wrist and hefted her jaws up, letting her swing gently at his side. Doing so bought him a little time on how to answer Quinn's question, which on the surface seemed easy but the truth was for Shiloh, things were anything but fine or good. Still, he smiled anyway, and shook his head. "Things are going, like always, you know. How about you, Quinnie? Gotten into any trouble lately?" He knew that Quinn likely hadn't, the Life hunter seeming to go out of his way to avoid trouble at all costs. That didn't stop him from being curious, however, or from wondering about his friend.

Truth was, Quinn was way too observant of a person to have not noticed the silence. Though he wasn't sure if it was just as simple as that, going to fetch his weapon or intended silence. Either way, he let it go for now. If there was something Shiloh felt he needed to know, he had a hunch he would have said something. "...Ahahahha. Trouble, uhm. Yeahhh no not really." Quinn and trouble were like water and oil, they avoided each other. Or tried to at least. "I make a point to avoid the trouble... though that tournament we did made me see that i need to uhm...try and at least know how to fight... a little." Yup this was awkward. He frowned at Shiloh some, clearly thinking too much. "How'd you do in the tourney?" sammpai AUGH IM SORRY HE IS SO ~ AWKWARD PANDA~

It was true, Shiloh had no problem talking, ever, but when it came to matters concerning important details about himself, he tended to be tight lipped, laughing it off or changing the subject to something lighter. So instead of getting lost in dark thoughts, Shiloh grinned. He was here to see Quinn after all, not wallow, and he intended to enjoy hanging out with his friend. “Won one, lost one. Then I lost another spar afterwards… I could definitely use the training.” He watched Quinn for a moment, contemplating things. Sure, they could work with the training dummies, but the fundamental flaw with training dummies was always that they didn’t hit back… A live opponent was always better for experience and expanding one’s skills, instead of merely training stamina or strength. And since he had a potential partner standing next to him… Willing or not… “Say,” he said suddenly, face lighting up with a smile. He sauntered over to Quinn, and gave him a little poke in the side. “We should spar. You can show me what you’re made of Quinnie. Only one way to get better, right?”

"Same happened to me, though i sort of won the first one on accident." Once again he was glad for the darker skin, no flushing showed yeaaaah. "...I kinda fell on my opponent, and apparently that broke his shield." Maybe Quinn needed to look into dieting, hmm. Once the subject of sparring came up though, he found himself eying the weapon which was swaying almost lazily at Shilohs side. "That looks....rather painful." He said, stating the obvious rather blatantly. The other was right though, what other way would they have to practice? Quinn found his courage growing slightly, but only when it was to these sparring ordeals. He was pretty certain no hunters would kill him.... giant monsters though? That was another story all together. "...We could try. What's your weapons name?" He learned that part from Jordan, always being polite to another hunters partner. They were a two for one deal, so it was best to say hello to both. The thought summoned his own partner, the thought process that seemed way too predatory opening its eyes within his mind. Oki was more of a emotions kind of speaker, only piping in his thoughts now and then. His own weapon was summoned a moment later, the tall staff with dreamcatcher end now in his hand. "This is Oki."

Shiloh laughed, he could definitely picture Quinn pulling something like that, as he hadn’t considered him one to enter the tournament in the first place. Still… “You won though, and that’s something. You had to have weakened his shield to that point, right?” He grinned. “I won against Ian, but it was a close match. Then uh, Fini, I don't know if you’ve met her but, she thoroughly kicked my butt.” His gaze followed Quinn’s to Haruko, and he smiled, hoisting her up a little. “Naw, don’t sweat it, Quinnie, she’s mostly harmless. Her bark’s worse than her bite.” Haruko disagreed in his head, but Shiloh hushed her good-naturedly. Besides, it was mostly true, considering the fact that Haruko was tethered to Shiloh, who hadn’t yet mastered the art of using her weapon form. His eyes lit up as Quinn summoned his weapon, and he stared at it, leaning forward curiously. “ Cool,” he enthused, checking out the staff, and the intricacy of the dreamcatcher. “Nice to meet you, Oki. This is Haruko.”

"...You kicked Ians butt?" Now that caused him to smile, he wished he hadn't missed that battle. He liked both Ian and Shiloh but...oddly he would have bet on Ian for that battle. Just proves that his ideas about strength were wrong. "Alaska was who kicked my butt." He wondered if Shiloh knew her. Still now, the name sent a chill of fear through him. Though it was not as strong as it had been before. At one time the woman scared him silly, oddly though during the tourney somehow they bonded. Quinn seemed to understand he a little more, weirdly enough. "Haruko looks like she could take care of herself." He frowned, wondering what material the odd head was made of. He shifted a little, looking up at his own weapon. It was a wonder it was so damn tall and yet weighed so little. He discovered during the tourney that Oki was apparently SUPER heavy to other people. He figured it was meant as a defense mechanism so others cant wield their partners. "He is pretty, though he is anything but pretty inside my head." He tapped his skull, and inwardly the orcawolf gave a snort in agreement. He knew he didn't mean 'pretty' in the superficial sense. Oki was NOT a good person at heart. "So ah, who goes first?"

He laughed again, “I don’t know if I’d say kicked butt, he’s pretty good with that dagger of his. No match for Haruko and me, though!” Shiloh had enjoyed the spar immensely, with fear shields it meant that actually hurting each other was a fairly slim possibility, and the match itself had been quite fun. Of course, winning had certainly helped stop his spirits from dampening, unlike the rain that had followed for his second match. “Alaska,” Shiloh repeated, trying to place her but he shook his head after a moment. “Can’t say I have ever met her. But hey, no shame in that, right, the women of Deus are some pretty intense ladies.” He smiled at Quinn, and Oki. “She probably could,” he said, shaking his head at the metallic jaws with a grin. He had developed a soft spot for the Inugami, and though her yapping often made her seem like a little sibling he could never get rid of, they’d developed a friendly bond, one that he was sure they could strengthen over time. She cheered him on at least, and mostly stayed out of his affairs, eager to go along on whatever adventure he took her on. “I can start, if you’d like,” Shiloh offered, stepping back and readying Haruka. “Let me know when you’re good to go.”
