Going out was becoming more of a chore than it should have ever been. Captain Mariposite was walking through the streets of Destiny city, and he was trying so hard to just…fight what he wanted to do. Part of him was still trying to win over another. The part that wanted to hurt senshi, drain civilians, rip out starseeds…essentially…the chaos that had taken over his own starseed…and then been strengthened by his upgrade. He was going to be lost to it, he knew that it was coming, and it was time to either give in to the darkness, or start trying to do something about it.

Part of him was still very worried about Medea, and hoped that he would find her tonight…but it seemed that fate wasn’t on his side. Though, there was the feeling of a senshi…a stronger one than him. Well. It never hurt to go and have a look.

Mariposite moved towards where he felt the senshi and blinked, seeing a lot of dark colors, a blackish color and purple. Oh. Oh well. This was a lovely senshi. He cleared his throat so she would be aware of him and walked over. “Good evening, Miss Senshi. It’s a lovely night, isn’t it?” There. That was a gentlemanly greeting if he ever heard one. Good ol’ Cameltoe would be proud.

Patroling, for Ida, was a staple in her life as a senshi. The focus had shifted a little since she'd first started, moving from hunting down youma and saving civilians to hunting down new senshi to teach them how to save civilians and dust youma.

Balancing her compact in her palm, the orchid senshi pushed the buttons to adjust the dots of light on the screen, even white teeth gently nibbling on her lower lip. There were a couple of dots nearby... maybe she should focus on that one, since she knew the area...

Good Evening...

The voice behind her set off alarm bells in her head and the senshi spun with widened eyes, a flex of her hand shutting her compact with a sharp little click. Dang it... It was hard to pay attention to her internal radar while focused on her hand-held one. It was lucky he was a level lower than her, and apparently not inclined to attack a White Moon senshi on sight like others she had known... he could have gotten a good shot in right there while her back was turned.

Releasing the compact to fall against her stomach, she eyed the captain with mistrust.

"Lovely night? Maybe... though not something I would usually say with one of you around. Have you been busy sucking energy out of innocent people, or is the night still young?" Ida said, feeling a little catty while she did.

Mariposite let out a little laugh. Oh she was even prettier when he got to see her face! “The night is still young, not to worry about that. But, really. How could I possibly think of sucking energy when I could be looking at someone as pretty as you?” He gave a little bow. “My name is Mariposite, and it’s a pleasure to meet you Miss…”

He let his voice trail off, wanting her to get the hint and give her name. It was always good to get their names. Friendly like. He wanted to be more friendly. It was easier that way. “You are a lovely senshi. I love the purples in your outfit, but that might just be a bias of mine…as you see…” He gestured to his own outfit. “I am fond of purple indeed.”

This was good, safe conversation. Easy. Very easy. He liked it easy. Working hard and getting angry…that was just too much work. Too much work indeed.

Dark eyebrows arched at the compliment and Ida felt a telltale heat in her cheeks that she struggled to quash. The jewelry on her arms jingled as she settled her hands on her hips, feeling unsettled by the opposite of the attention she was used to getting.

"Lovely? Are you sure you should be complementing the other side?" Ida said as she shifted from foot to foot. Purple, huh? Not like she had chosen the color, even if it was a lovely shade and worked well with her olive complexion.... she had seen many senshi who look far more lovely than she did, with far more elaborate fukus. Tilting her head, the senshi eyed the captain with a suspicious look.

"I'm Eternal Sailor Ida." A moderate concession, telling him her name... nothing more than that.

Mariposite waved a hand in the air, shaking his head. “Why would I compliment my side, my dear Ida.” What a pretty name, simple, yet elegant at the same time. He grinned. “My side’s fashion sense is all about pain it seems, you senshi…you’re the ones with the real sense of beauty and style. No, I think I’ve chosen the right side to compliment. The right side indeed.”

He took a step closer, tilting his head to the side, then began to walk around her. “The wings on your outfit, what are they made of? I confess…the last eternal senshi that I spoke to…well, she wouldn’t let me get near enough to see. Might I touch them just to…quench my curiosity?”

Were they made of fabric? Or perhaps plastic…how else could fabric stand on its own like that? Or…He just wasn’t sure what they could be made of.

“I like them, regardless. They make you look…like a midget angel.”

Oh…wait. “No, no that’s not…they are like a midget angel…or something.” The captain paused then shrugged. “Well. Foot in mouth, I think.”

So much for suave and dashing...

He was obviously a flirt with the way he talked... not something she was used to dealing with. Mariposite... Didn't Mariposa mean butterfly in spanish, or something? Nothing about him suggested anything like that, so whatever.

His step closer set off alarms again and the senshi shifted, keeping a careful eye on the captain as he circled her. It made her nervous... there was no way she was going to allow him behind her and when he attempted it, she turned to follow him, even taking a step back to keep a little space between them.

"I'm not surprised that senshi wouldn't let you close... the last negaverse officer that got that close to me shoved his hand into my chest to feel up my starseed." In all honesty, she didn't actually know what they were made of... she'd never really thought about it. The thought of him behind her with his hands that close sent a shiver down her spine.

Luckily, he broke the mood when he tried to bring in an image of an angel... but screwed it up qualifying it as a midget. It brought up a rather funny image and a smile curled her lips despite herself.

"I think you might have been better off with 'small' or 'tiny'." Ida said as she shifted her hips, feeling the wings at her back sweep the air.

Mariposite shrugged. “Small, tiny, midget…you got the meaning no matter what word I used, so what’s the problem, hm?” His face was burning just slightly. What a stupid sort of slip up. “I must say though, Miss Ida. I wasn’t trying to call you short or anything. You did know what I meant, and it truly wasn’t meant to be an insult, I apologize.”

He gave a little smile of his own, then stepped away from her. “I get it, I get it. I’m making you uncomfortable. But, I promise.” His happy expression grew just slightly darker. “I wouldn’t dare try and take your starseed…I tried that once with another senshi, and I assure you…it’s been a very large, very real regret in my life, lately.”

The captain sighed heavily and shrugged. “Senshi shouldn’t be…manhandled like that. It’s quite disgusting.” He wasn’t going to think about Medea. He really wasn’t. It wasn’t a good thing to think about anyway. Finally Mariposite shook his head.

“I don’t know anymore, Ida. I just don’t know. But please, tell me. What are your…thoughts on Purification? Do you believe that it can work? I’ve only heard a little about it, but you’re a strong senshi, you tell me what you know, won’t you?”

Ida couldn't help the little smile that curved on her face, listening to him fumble and watching the way his face turned pink. It was a very vivid color, with how pale his skin was, and she found herself glad her own complexion was darker, hiding the color better... not that it really helped, she guessed. When she blushed it was always furiously bright, and no amount of skin pigment was going to hide that.

"I know you didn't mean short. I'm pretty average height for a girl my age." It was a relief that he backed off, giving them a more comfortable space between them. At least, for her.

Some of the teasing mood she'd been feeling faded when he brought up purification though, and her smile dropped. Of course she had heard of it... but why would he bring that up? Was he pretending to be seeking it? Was he actually seeking it? Was he just... curious about it? The questions swirled in her head and she frowned a little, crossing her slender arms over her chest.

"I've heard about it. I've never seen it, or met anyone who's done it." Ida tilted her head as she studied him, trying to discern what his intentions were by the question. "I know it takes a Royal Senshi and that they know the most about it. I've... I've never met a Prince or Princess before, so I'm afraid that's all I know. Why.... do you ask?"

It seemed to good to be true that she would find a negaverse captain wanting to defect to the other side... the chances were better that he was trying to trick her somehow, but at the same time... the potential of a side switch was too great to just simply ignore the possibility.

Mariposite shrugged, feeling just the slightest bit uncomfortable as Ida switched from smiling…to uh. Not smiling.

Had he said something wrong? Done something wrong? Did his armpits smell…? The captain casually moved his hands behind his head and sniffed as discretely as possible while posing there, trying to govern his expression to one of deep thought. “Well…I uh…” No, he smelled just fine. Was it purification? Didn’t she think he could do it?

“I don’t know. Cameltoe…uh. I mean, Camelot…this knight guy I met once. He was saying how chaos will change me and make me a class A Douchebag, and I really…don’t want to be that, you know? I joined up with the Negaverse so I could get closer to the pretty ladies…not…not you know…”

He lowered his arms and shrugged somewhat awkwardly. “…rip their souls out and watch them die or whatever…I don’t want to be an a*****e…just an over the top flirt. And maybe…if I was a knight, I could flirt without the fear of chaos…corroding me. Right?”

This was an unusual turn to the conversation. Ida watched as he braced his arms behind his head, her own hands tucked under her arms, against her ribs. He might not think this was a serious matter, but for her it was very much so.

Lately, she had been noticing an odd thread in the officers she had been meeting. In her history, they had been nothing but evil... cruel and malicious monsters. But... some of the lower ranked ones appeared to not be as bad, and she had seen the ones that ranked up seeming to grow worse as they did. Was that chaos? Did it change people as they took in more of it, as he said? It had certainly done a number on Ate, who before corruption had been boisterous, fun-loving, and so nice to her... but the last time they had met, she had been one of the worst examples of the negaverse that Ida had ever seen.

"Camelot? I've... I've met him before. He's an intelligent man. I would trust what he tells you and... I have to admit that I've noticed the same thing among the officers I've seen. They seem worse, the higher in rank they get." She was a little surprised to hear a name she knew, but it just gave her more questions. "I think... if you're serious about purification, he is the one you should talk to. He knows a lot more than I do."

Dropping her eyes, Ida scuffed her boot against the ground, grinding the golden heel into it. "I'd like it if you purified. If you're really serious about it, then that's good. I have... a bad past with people from your side of things. A lot of painful memories. I would like to see someone... come out of that."

Dropping her arms this time, she clasped her hands behind her back, looking a bit less guarded than she had before. She didn't trust him, not fully, but this chance was too good to throw it back at him without even considering it. A thought crossed her mind and her smile returned, a little shy, but impish.

"If you did purify, I know a few girls that I could introduce you to." She said with a little giggle.

Mariposite nodded. “He is a rather nice guy. Tried to give me some tips on flirting, so…well. That’s good.” He gave a little grin, and then shook his head. “That’s what he told me at least. That as we rank up…more and more chaos gets shoved into our starseed and…and it just…” He paused, trying to think. “Well, for lack of a better word, it corrupts us. Makes us…more chaos than…than us. And it’s just not…a good thing.”

The captain tucked a lock of his hair behind his ear and shrugged. “I think he’s right. I mean…I feel like…I’ve noticed that I’ve been…losing touch with myself at moments. I’ve been…doing things, thinking things and wanting things…and I don’t want to have those…urges, you know?”

He sighed. “Maybe you don’t…but hey, I appreciate the offer of the ladies. I do love myself the ladies.” He winked at Ida and grinned. “Maybe I could take you on a date, when it happens, if you’d let me.”

Ida laughed as she pictured Tony giving tips on flirting. He really didn't seem the type. What Mariposite said about chaos made a lot of sense and it aligned with what she had suspected thus far. How could you not change, the more corruption you took in?

"If its what you want, if you're sure about it... then you should go back and talk to Camelot about it. I'll... I'll look for information too. Maybe I can find something that'll help..." She felt a blush spreading on her cheeks as he mentioned a date and she dropped her eyes, shuffling her boots against the ground in embarrassment.

"Uh... sure. I guess, I mean, if you leave the negaverse... then why not?" Ida fumbled with her words, feeling flustered over the possibility that he might actually mean it. A date, with her? She couldn't shake the feeling that he was lying to her about it, about everything, but there was still that tiny, tiny spark of hope that she couldn't quite squash. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad, you know? Worth it, to win someone back from chaos.

"Look, um... if you want to find me, then why don't you come here? I'll check back every so often and if you're here, I'll come and we can exchange info, you know?" Of course, she could be setting herself up for an ambush, but she had to give a little if she expected to get anything. At least she'd know to be on the look out any time she came here.

Mariposite took this as a sign that Ida was ready to be rid of him and he flashed a smile. “I would love to see you again, and don’t you dare forget the promise of the date…even if you find some handsome boyfriend who falls madly in love with you.” The captain gave a little laugh. “I’ll find Camelot, I was hoping to run into him soon anyway, so finding him shouldn’t be too much of a problem…and you, little missy.”

He waggled a finger at her. “Stay safe. And look after yourself…and if you could, watch out for a senshi named Medea.” Finally he had brought her into the conversation. “She’s…she seems a little lost, and I think another Nega dude is leading her down a path…that I don’t want her going donw…It’s kind of, scaring me…”

Swallowing, the blonde closed his eyes for a moment, a pained look crossing his face. A moment later though, his charming smile was back on and he darted right up close to Ida, pecking her cheek. “Take care. Next time…” He gave a grin. “I’m going to touch your butt…”

The captain took a step back, then laughed. “…wings that is! See you later!” He took off then, before she could hit him, or make a crotch shot like so many other senshi had before her.

Well. That had been fun. And she had been nice. And now he just had a ton more to think about.
