Setting T he time is 1886. Edo, Japan. A time when Samurai and great warriors alike still walked the streets of this great city... some are simple noblemen, in search of a path all their own. Others could simply be considered free spirits, murderers and sometimes even thugs. Whatever their reasons for wielding the sword were for, they stay true to their own hearts. But in this bustling, ever changing country lies a legend...
A legend passed down through hushed whispers and tight lips... a legend covered with shadows.
Rumor has it, that a lone Samurai defeated an entire matriarch and had a kingdom fall before his very feet. This lone Samurai who's name has been lost in time was said to have left behind a single shred of proof that he once walked the tall grasses of this country, that his existence was real...
A cursed sword. To anyone who is able to wield the sword and master it with a pure heart and mind, rumors of immortality and power beyond imagination were promised to the weary warrior that finds this sword. But beware, to those of a greedy mind and a rotten heart will find that only certain death awaits them...

► Follow Gaia TOS.
► DO NOT post your OOC conversations on the Main Thread. The Crew will delete any single OOC posts I see in the Main Thread. A link to the OOC thread will be provided on the first page of the Main Thread.
► We DO allow other kinds of magical beings besides human beings. So feel free to get creative with your characters. (Ex. Demons, elemental's, spirits, witches just nothing too crazy)
► We do accept Loner type characters, however, Mary Sues/Gary Stu's are not permitted.
► While we all do enjoy a good sob story, please don't write me a novel about your character's tragic past etc... when it comes to filling out the profile skeleton. Keep it simple but interesting.
► No font sizes smaller than size 10. Size 9 and below can be hard for others to read properly. No super light colored fonts either. Again, it can be hard for others to read your post properly that way. We want this RP to be fun for everyone and part of that is making sure the other players can read and understand what you're saying/doing.
► Please use proper grammar. Spelling mistakes are okay, but no text talk please. (Ex. c u l8tr lol ttyl)
► We highly encourage love triangles/squares, so don't be afraid to get some love interests going. But keep it PG-13. No cybering or smut.
► If two characters do end up getting into an intimate situation, it's highly recommended that you do a time skip, or take it to PMs until your erotic scene is over. Again, let's respect our younger audience in the guild.
► If you have any suggestions regarding what should happen in the role play, don't be shy and mention it in the OOC thread.
► If someone wants to have a relationship/fight with your character, don't be rude and hear them out. That's what the OOC is all about, plotting and planning.
► and lastly, Just have fun! That's what this role play is here for. If you have any questions about the role play, don't be afraid to post them in the OOC thread. ^^

Please post all character skeletons in the OOC thread!
You can be anything you want to be. Human or non-human. Akuma, obi, youkai, akurei, kitsune, tengu, tanuki, etc.
Keep in mind that this RP also takes place in the Meiji Period and so Samurai have become enemies of the state and it is now illegal to carry a sword. Keep that in mind if you choose to be a Samurai character.
In addition to that, the Emperor of Japan has invited Western countries to trade with Japan. This added a great deal of tension to the time, and should stir up lots of drama in our RP. Keep in mind that most westerns that visited Japan (merchants, sailors, etc.) knew exactly jack-s**t about Japanese culture and traditions. Basically, they were accidental assholes. Keep that in mind if you choose to play a Westerner.
