" Lemme go!" Agniri squawked and squealed as she tried her hardest to escape from under the claws of a Kiandri dragon. She had foolishly tried to ambush the dragon only a short time ago. tired of her family's dismissal of her maturity and skills Agniri had sought to prove herself better than your average keindred. she had leapt from a cliff into the back of the kiandri and spat sparks of flame at it's eyes.

Before a crow of victory could leave Agniri's throat though the golden dragon had reared up and thrown her off as if she were nothing. Then it had turned and pounced upon her before she could get away. The lightning that crackled off it;s body made her feathers tingle and the air hurt to breath. For the first time in a long time Agniri was scared. She was so far from home and no nosy cousins or uncles would be coming to save her now.

Suluksati had been patrolling the area quite happily when she saw it: a small pink ball of fluff pouncing on a Kiandri dragon. Closer inspection told her it was a keinling, of all things. It was soon overpowered and Suluksati found herself conflicted, but only briefly. Yes the young one was hunting dragons, but now the tables had turned. Besides, she knew how to resolve this in a way that would allow her to sleep tonight. She dived towards the dragon, roaring as loud as she could, and if there was something to be said about Sulksati it was that she had quite a voice on her from shouting her opinions at her fellow drakein.
Hopefully, the Roar would startle the Kiandri away. Hopefully nobody would get hurt today.

( Small note, Agniri is a keindred, so not quite a baby but she is smaller than the average keindred, poor lil fluffball)

The Kiandri dragon snarled at the green and white drakein but backed away. Keep your young from my territory, she hissed. The warning was clea, the dragon would let the pair live and leave this time but should they set a claw on her turf again she would not show mercy a second time. The air crackled around the massive dragon as she stalked away, moving swiftly but not truly fleeing.

Agniri slowly righted herself and then peered up at the strange female drakein, her violet eyes wide with wonder. "How did you get to be so loud!? Not even Mother is that loud and she is our leader." Agniri would have to be as loud as this Alkein someday if she wanted to be a truly fearsome matriarch. The fear she had felt from the dragon's presence had quickly faded and been replaced by awe and admiration of her savior.

Suluksati stood tall and strong, her wings flared and ready to cover the smaller keindred until the dragon was far out of view and scent.
She looked down at the little pink one and nosed her for a moment, checking for injuries. Finding none, she relaxed, satisfied.
"Practice. Lots of practice." she said, and it was true enough. She kept an ear out for the dragon- they were beautiful, but they were- she could admit- dangerous and she wanted to get this small one out of harms way. "Can you fly" she asked. She couldn't remember how skilled she was at that age, but she didn't think the little one could keep up with her walking, as fit as she was.

Normally Agniri would have objected to some stranger digging her nose into her feathers and whatnot but this one seemed alright. Besides her mind was now distracted by the idea that she would need much practice to be as loud and commanding as the female in front of her. Well louder actually because second best did not sit well in the pink feathered drakein's mind.

" I'm Agniri and I can fly, a little." Sustained flight, especially at large heights was not possible due to the strain it put on her wings. She could however glide fair distances, then run a bit, launch herself into the air and glide some more. " Are we gonna chase the dragon down?" That would be amazing and boy would she have something to tell and show her parents if she came back with a dragon soul.

"Er..." Suluksati wasn't sure how she felt about how enthusiastic the keindred sounded about chasing down and killing the dragon. On the one hand, it was not a sentiment she was comfortable at all with. On the other hand, it was coming from a youngster whose family had probably taught them to kill all dragons.
"No." she said, "Not exactly." she felt that sinking feeling so familiar to her, that she had dissappointed someone. It still hurt, even after all this time.
"It's in it's home now. It could hurt us very badly if we followed it into a trap." very true, and kept her from revealing her true motive. After all, the dragon had listened to reason, and she wanted those to stay alive. Too few did.
"Lets just go flying instead..." she offered, slightly nervously. Surely another Alkein would leap at the chance to go flying!
And hopefully she could guide the little one back home.

.

Agniri sulked for a moment, aww it would have been great to win the fight anyways. She supposed walking into a trap would be dumb though and she was not dumb!

" Where do you wanna fly to?" The pink alikein was still primed for adventure and the chance to better get to know this stranger. strangers were just so much more interesting than her own family these days and it was a rare occasion during which she found them to be aggressive or harmful. Not that Agniri couldn't hold her own, as far as she was concerned anyways.

Suluksati stretched her wings, flapped them briefly, and folded them again, warming them up a bit. "Mmm. Wherever you wish." her distraction was working. She remembered when she was so energetic and young. What a long time ago that was! How different she was back then!
"I don't know this area well, perhaps you could show me around?" Likely, the little alkein was from around here, and that meant their family was nearby and, possibly, that they knew the area.

Agniri paced back and forth for a moment as she tried to think of where the best place to go would be. " Oh! We should go to the springs, they are warm an bubbly and the air is so easy to fly in near them." Heated by their nearness to Kaiatasel the hotsprings Agniri spoke of were one of her favourite places to go. They were in a sort of neutral bit of territory though and she was not permitted to go to them without an adult lest there be dangerous strangers lurking nearby.

Why exactly warm air made it easier to fly the young Firani did not understand but it was nice because even when she fell she just landed in the hot water.

Suluksati suddenly became aware of stiffness and pain in her muscles. "Hot springs?" She had heard of the springs of Kaiatasel and their miraculous powers of relaxation and comfort, and their warmth, so unlike the lakes of Serenia. Warm things were very nice, and the idea of just laying down in a pool of warm water and letting it just wash away all the strain that Sulu accumulated was suddenly very appealing.
And warm air flying was especially relaxing. The thermals let you do so many things on the wing, but without the effort that would normally take.
"Well then! Lead the way... I don't believe I caught your name...?"
She bit back the word little, which seemed to want to come out at every oppurtunity. How could she forget that at that same age she had been very sensitive about her size? No. Don't call her little. She forced herself to remember. Otherwise I will have a faceful of angry keindred claws, and I don't want her to think any more ill of me than she must... There was still hope yet to curb the dragon-hunting desires of this young one.

Agniri was sure she'd introduced herself before , she rarely missed the opportunity to let others know who she was, but there had been a lot of excitement recently. " I'm Agniri, I'm a Firani." Her colouring was not exactly typical of her family nor their associated clan. Still the essence of fire smoldered within the keindred and being small and pink did little to stop her fiestyness.

It took just a hop, skip and jump for Agniri to launch herself into the air. " Follow me, they aren't too far." Outside of the dragons territory to be sure but close enough that it wouldn't take the two drakein overly long to reach it.

Midway through, muse went poof!

"I am Suluksati. I am an Aedaun." she replied in turn, a little surprised. Pink on a Firani? Well, it was red. A Lightish red. And it was a particularly firey shade of pink. Suluksati didn't question it- she herself had been mistaken for a Ysali on occasion.
She flapped into the air and glided in order to keep up with the smaller winged keindred. It wasn't long before she could smell the mineral-laced steam of the vents.

Agniri was glad that the hot springs seemed to be deserted at the moment. Glancing off into the distance there were no threats or others they'd have to fight with to use them. " I like this pool best," she noted as she began to descend to the left. The warm air tickled her feathers as she began to glide downward. It was so much easier to fly like this, although the heated air contained invisible water that also made her wings damp and thus herself marginally heavier.

If Sulu were smaller Agniri would have invited her to race, but the Aedun drakein would hit the surface of the water hard and cause a far bigger wave then someone like herself. There were benefits to being young and unusually small for a keindred.

"Allright" Sulu banked into a circular glide as she watched Agniri descend. It looked like just another pool of steaming water to her, "Any particular reason?" she asked, leisurely gliding towards the pool. The mist settled on her feathers, giving them a crystalline shimmer. Sulu liked the look, though it was only a matter of time before the feathers became wet instead of shiny from the condensation. "Or do you just like it?" you could like things for no reason, Sulu figured.
