Running hurt, Adonis found. It was a strangely calm thought.

Heels pounded into ceaseless paths of concrete with rhythmic regularity, and like clockwork, shock-induced pain bolted up to his knees. Lactic acid filled his thighs, and it burned. Oh, it burned but he kept going. Had no choice, really - not unless he wanted to kill himself.

It felt so surreal that he found himself questioning his sanity. But it was there, he had to believe that. An almost perfect copy of himself was at his back, nearly on his heels, in all of its greyscale glory. He remembered trying to flirt with it - because what would be better than to proudly declare that he'd slept with himself? - but his advances met with nothing more than murderous intent. And he found it ludicrous at first, informed this strange grey copy that he lacked any kind of bloodlust and that he was breaking character for an otherwise excellent interpretation of himself, but even that fell on deaf ears.

And now he found himself running the gambit through Destiny City, followed by himself. Almost like being chased by a shadow. Laughter welled in his throat, but he tried to swallow it back. The hilarity of his situation would almost certainly be the death of him, he could feel it.

When his gloves peeled away of their own accord and the skin beneath began to sizzle and burn, all mirth died. It struck a chord of fear, that he was truly being hunted by himself with not even the faintest hint toward why, and should he continue he would almost certainly die.

And Adonis just wasn't that into dying.

The pain felt strangely distant. It most certainly hurt, but his sudden shock of adrenaline took the edge off. He could ignore it, for now, though he didn't know how much longer he might sustain it.

He whispered '********' as a mantra at this point.

Ducking into an alley, the Skin Senshi tried for a ladder, to potentially reach the rooftops and try for help, but a hands found his back almost instantaneously. He kicked out behind himself, and found a small reprieve from his assailant, just long enough to start up the rungs. But he pushed himself to climb a little faster, to ascend as quickly as his burning legs and tired, fried arms would allow him, as a means to glean even a modicum of distance between himself and his copy.

Only no amount of effort afforded him that luxury.

He reached the roof, but only White Moon Senshi strayed in his peripherals.

"s**t."

The moonless night was no less unnerving for having become familiar to the denizens of Destiny City. Standing on the roof of a building, one of the haunts Eternal Ida found familiar and comforting, the senshi stared up at the sky with her arms crossed over her chest, hands gripping her biceps in contemplation.

"How much longer can this last?" She said aloud to no one in particular, dark brown eyes narrowed at the sky. It was unnatural, unnerving, and unwanted... weren't they supposed to be able to go to the moon? It was supposed to be a sanctuary, which is why she had suspected negaverse involvement, but they were as much victims to the shades as the white moon was.

Despite having the issue on her mind, it came as much of a surprise to her as it did the corrupted senshi when he scrambled up onto the roof looking terrified and Ida stood blinking at him for a moment in confusion. Crap, she hadn't been paying attention... rookie mistake. A frown creased her brow and she moved back, dropping her arms to her sides and finding a defensive position in case he tried anything.

"Who are you?" The first question out of her mouth was more reflex than anything.

For all the neon and streetlights that peppered the Destiny City, the streets were dark. Stars would always be a luxury within metropolitan boundaries. The radiant gleam of artificial light chased away the diamond specks of star light. It was rare to see the constellations glitter over head. The stars were shy. They hide away, peaking out only every so often. What was not bashful, however, was the moon. It's bright presence had always been starkly visible above the city. A glaring reminder of purpose for anyone whose core had been touched by darkness.

Had been, but no longer. The sky overhead was pitch. Not the overcast illusion of emptiness that clouds could paint, but a thick, black void.

Darkness come to swallow the world.

Captain Xenotime stood on the edge of a rooftop with silver eyes lifted skyward, fingers holding loosely to the edge of her hood to keep it from falling back. How many nights now had it been? Xe couldn't remember. Time seemed to be moving strangely as of late. Flashing past in leaps and bounds. A mark of happiness, perhaps.

The thought had her casting out, searching around her for the familiar touch of chaos. Something lingered, far off on the edge of her senses. A dark flicker moving quickly and the bright flash of something with wings. It held possibilities.

Lips parted, chest rising, and she was moving forward before her breath could fog the cooling night air.

Unbeknownst to the captain there was something else out that night. Something other. It was shadow incarnate, and though Xenotime had heard whispers and rumors of grey scale doppelgangers, she had yet to encounter her own. Unfortunate really, for the girl ever seeking a worth while opponent.

Maybe the beacon the rushed towards would prove a challenge. One could only hope. The teen grinned, a flash of white in hooded shadows. Eager as a cheshire cat.

When she touched down near the pair of senshi it was with some measure of surprise. The girl was familiar. Ida, she'd learned, Senshi of Orchids. The one who'd slammed her shoulder in the captain to save her friend. The one that had fallen through the trap door in the stage. It had been a brief meeting.

The corrupt was also familiar, but Xe didn't have a name to add to the face. She recalled seeing him at the same free-for-fall battle royale that had served as finale for the convention.

A smile was presented to the pair of them, cool and feral, though it slipped minutely as a muted hand came into view behind the corrupted solider. It stole her attention, and her chin tipped gently to one side as silver eyes narrowed upon it. She could feel it, dimly, but it wasn't anything familiar. "What is that?"

Though her own shade was still no where to be found, Eternal Sailor Tsui did not allow that, or anything else for that matter, to prevent her from working her patrol route. Nothing would stop her, not rain, nor hail, nor sleet or snow, and certainly no irrational fear of meeting her own boogieman. Not even the injuries she's received and the doctor's orders could keep the senshi of Tigers bedridden, and it seemed that she was right to trust her instincts.

Her senses were tingling with two nearby Chaos aura, both lower ranked than her though she paid little attention to that. To Tsui, rank meant very little, as she had fought others will outside of her rank, and on both sides of the fence. Such matters weren't important to Tsui, but what was important that she felt a familiar Order aura that was close to the two Chaos. That and her natural sense of duty pretty much forced her hand as she ran towards the aura, feeling the rising tension in the air and using that as fuel to her drive, and before too long, she made it to what looked like the prime location for a good throwdown.

She said that because she immediately noticed who was there, and any mirth or humor that Tsui might have held was gone in a second. Xenotime was there...

"Alright, b***h! It's time for a rematch!" Tsui shouted, not once looking to her friend, Ida, nor the Corrupted senshi just a few feet away. She barely even noticed the doppelganger, even when Xenotime's attention seemed to be drawn to it, and the only thing that prevented the Tiger senshi from engaging the captain that had given her a thorough thrashing, twice, was the shadowy hand that reached for Adonis. He caused Tsui to stop dead in her tracks, ruining whatever attack she was going to engage in as she indadvertedly answered Xenotime's question. "Looks like we got another shade- look out behind you!"

Perhaps he should have stayed home? Would anyone have faulted him; or even known? Not likely but Alexandre had decided to go out anyway, even as stitches tugged harshly as a reminder of the encounter with his shade. Moving along the back alleys, rather than the roof tops, he paused as he was hit with the feeling of order, and chaos, nearby. Should he really continue in that direction? He could get hurt, not that he wasn't already stitched up, but really a few more injuries wasn't much. Not to mention two of those signatures were eternal and the chaos ones were much weaker.

Mind made up, rather quickly really, the blond haired General took off down alleyways and around corners as he headed toward the gathered signatures. He was expecting some brawl to be what he encountered but that wasn't the case - far from it really. By now he was roof top level and on the roof top next to the mix group of senshi, corrupted senshi, and negaverse agent. As much as he wanted to attack Tsui, as he had spotted her rather quickly, his attention was on that shade. "It seems we have a shade needing to be dealt with..." He spoke cooly as he stood on the edge of his roof top. Arms crossed over his chest as he watched the odd scene in front of him. What would happen? Would they wind up working together; just as he had a few evenings back with Ganymede and Valhalla? Things seemed to be turning weird with the shades appearance in the city.

From where he stood he gently leapt onto the roof top the group was assembled on. Landing lightly he looked over the group - only one person he knew. With his own shade alive, still, it was possible he would be bringing them here also. Was that a good idea? Would he be able to kill his shadow this time, here and now? If his own shade turned up he hoped he could, especially given those gathered here.

Another moonless night.

Another strange stillness pervaded the stars, now listless without the shimmering moon with which to orient themselves. Adrift on dark waters without a lighthouse - he wondered, were the senshi yearning for that guidance once more? He would've dwelled on the philosophical indications offered by the absence of the moon, but sudden movement in his periphery drew his attention.

Golden eyes shifted toward the disturbance, and the sight of it caused him to lean forward from his languid position atop a precipice.

Xenotime.

Except it wasn't Xenotime.

Instinctually he knew it to be true, but his mind struggled to digest that fact. That hood, those clothes, the strands of hair peeling out just past her ears while she sprinted across buildings... He knew these as familiar markers of his protege captain, Jägerin as he liked to call her, but nothing stood out consciously as an indication that she wasn't truly the girl he came to know not long ago. However, he persisted, though he refrained from calling her name - even as she traipsed across the city in an athlete's grace, he trailed her until that scathing feeling that he followed some insidious doppelgänger finally grew too strong to ignore.

And it was at that moment that he realized she did not exude an aura. No captain lingered before him, some twenty yards away. In fact, he felt nothing but a collection of powered individuals in the far distance. And from what he could tell, this Xenotime impostor bolted in that direction.

So was the true Xenotime one of the signatures that idled in the distance? Rather than continue to tail the strange apparition, Bischofite relied on the abilities afforded to him by Chaos to surpass her - even if it meant through teleportation alone.

But as he approached the gathering point, something became painfully clear - these doubles proved a more common occurrence than he initially thought. Not only that, but it drew the attention of senshi and agents alike to spectate a meager battle fought between a corrupted senshi and his mimic. Were these shades truly so versed in anarchy that they smeared the very lines that set them apart? He sneered at the thought, but advanced toward the building regardless.

However, he hadn't expected to find so many familiar faces:

The TIger Senshi,
Xenotime,
Ida,
Benitoite.

He knew none of them to normally stand by and watch while those of the opposite faction still drew breath. Had this trite battle captivated them so readily, or did these strange wraiths manipulate those around them with unconscionable ease? He needed to know, so he crested the building in a strong leap.

"I hope you're prepared to kill yourself, Jägerin," he whispered urgently, his true message belied through choice of words. Soon he addressed the remaining company therein, raking his feverish gaze across the lot. He smiled. Like a Roman colosseum birthed into common times... And as he drew breath to state his comparison, something heavy and hard impacted the back of his skull with dizzying strength. Unable to skid to a halt in time, he struck Ida through the inertia afforded by the assault.

Through doubled vision, he hardly discerned a rather tribal figure replete with splattered face paint before it rushed him once more.

Persephone was running. From herself, as it were, which could be a great metaphor for life, the universe, and everything going on with her and her doubts about the White Moon if it weren't horrifically, literally true. There was an evil version of her hot on her heels, and so when she felt a cluster of energy signatures, mixed Order and Chaos, she raced towards it, because even if it was a big tangle she could maybe lose her doppelganger in the shuffle.

She got herself up onto the rooftop, and her stomach dropped. She recognized some of the people there - Ida, who she had seen months ago when they were both still first-stage, though Ida had gotten her buttwings by now; Tsui,w ho had trained her once; Benitoite, with whom she had once chatted and later fought; and of course how could she ever forget Bischofite?

Except she wasn't the only one with a double, and that was an awful thought, because there were definitely two of Bischofite (and one of Bischofite was scary enough, thank you.)

"What the hell is going on with these ******** doubles?" She asked, a little breathlessly (Senshi stamina or not running was not her thing). "I've got one coming, fair warning!"

And then without really thinking, she launched herself, elbow first, at the copy-Bischofite because even though he scared the hell out of her, she wasn't going to let some homicidal doppelganger kill him on her watch.

Though it would've moved him to know that various individuals of both sides flocked to keep an eye on him, the fact that they essentially stood around gawking offset his feelings immensely. To say that he was incredulous toward their indifference was an understatement, but he wasn't about to let that show as long as there was still a chance that they might lend a hand to bump off his shadow-self.

Who, by the way, wasn't going to stand idly by while Adonis hastily scrambled for some means of counterattack.

Thanks to a White moon senshi's heads up, who he would've complimented for her furs if he had the time, Adonis narrowly avoided getting grabbed by his double and potentially thrown off the roof (in fact, he didn't even have time to shoot her a 'thank you'). His second self seemed much less friendly than the enemy at this point, and the fact that the tiger-like senshi tipped him off to an incoming attack certainly didn't hurt, either. For all the time other officers spent establishing that the enemy wanted to kill him, they more often than not acted in a manner that preserved his life for another day. And, curiously enough, he'd throw himself right back into peril the next night as he powered up for another round of energy draining.

But this night was, obviously, different. As much as he would've delighted in becoming acquainted with all the new and unique officers and senshi gathered here today, Adonis the Sequel had plans to seize the senshi's hair and drag him back toward the ledge. But even as the Skin senshi backed up toward the one who gave him the friendly reminder, it wasn't enough to deter his duplicate from assaulting him again.

And as the copy sought to seize his neck, he realized that it didn't care if Adonis was surrounded by others, enemy and ally alike. It didn't matter if the group were willing to help him or not, because all that seemed to make a difference in the bloodthirsty facsimile's eyes was that Adonis lay dead on the floor. The corrupted senshi coughed, gasped for air, and desperately clawed at the hand around his throat, but only through a great deal of clawing and an adrenaline-fueled need for self-preservation did the hand finally come away.

But before he could breathe a sigh of relief, another girl showed up to the party accompanied by a couple grayscale copies of their originals. One looked admittedly tribal and a touch frightening, while the other bore an uncanny resemblance to a Greek goddess. And who was he to complain about the latter?

His shade sought his throat once more, and though distracted, Adonis managed to catch it in time. After seizing the copy's arm, he managed to wrestle it to the ground, though it looked by no means fluid or professional. If Adonis weren't heavily invested in saving his own life about now, he would've felt pretty self-conscious about how untrained he appeared in battle. With the precious time bought by his temporary victory, Adonis held out his arms and watched the second Greek goddess to hit the scene. "Skinned," he uttered, and his gloves melted away almost instantaneously.

Hopefully it'd buy her some time. She was too pretty to die tonight.

His gaze had drifted, as it often did, toward Bischofite as he noted the others sudden, or maybe not so sudden, appearance. What he wasn't expecting and didn't have time to shout about was the duplicate the other brought with him - nor the incoming attack. It was a fight with himself not to go and help the other as he was assaulted, as it seemed a senshi had decided to come to the rescue of the dark haired agent. How interesting, and maybe he'd thank the senshi later, it seemed these shades were pulling people together from both sides. Yes, after this was over and he'd checked on Bischofite he'd thank the senshi, if only to be polite. After all, she was being nice enough to defend and help the other.

So his attention went to the corrupted senshi and his problem. It seemed their copy was rather....narrow minded as they didn't seem to see or think of anything but killing the corrupted senshi. With so many senshi and officers already here, there was no way to determine how many doubles there were or if they should be expecting more company, he decided it was time to handle at least one of these shades. Summoning his weapon he teleported himself over to the corrupted senshi of skin, although he didn't know their sphere, and put his spear to good use as he set his sights on ridding the corrupted of his double.

"I think we all need to set about handling the doubles here and any which may arrive." He stated rather loudly, hoping his voice carried and people got to working on killing these things. He'd really like to kill as many of these dangerous things as possible; keeping them around was no good he was sure.

The sudden influx of powered signatures was a little overwhelming and just for a moment, Ida was distracted though that all she could do was take it all in.

"Tsui!" She managed to get out, recognizing her friend and feeling infinitely better her comrade was here. The relief didn't last long though, because a familiar chill crept up her spine right before someone bony and covered in feathers bowled her over, sending the both of them to the ground int a tangle.

"Bischofite!" The eternal senshi squeaked as she shoved at him, struggling to roll out of his grasp. The last place she EVER wanted to be was in his arms... Always she would remember the way his hand had felt as it slid into her chest and wrapped around her starseed. She never wanted to feel that again and terror gave her strength to draw a knee up and shove hard, rolling them apart.

As Ida rolled up onto her feet to get her bearings, she stared in bewilderment as an even more colorless version of her nightmare launched itself out of the shadows at Bischofite. Ah geez... it was his shade. As if one of him wasn't bad enough...

Ida turned and fled, getting closer to Tsui to make sure they didn't get separated. They always fought better when the group was together.

"Tsui." The name was breathed out before the other senshi had crested the building to join them, and cold eyes jerked to the fur clad fighter as she shouted, earning herself an indulgent, eager grin from the captain before the continued advancement of the duplicate demanded their attention. "Maybe later." She would love nothing more then to tear into the senshi of tigers, but there was more happening now then any mere grudge match. Grey scale hands grabbed at the corrupted, oblivious to all the players now occupying the board. It kept on it's mission with single-minded determination, and it had violet brows arching before the teen made any move to help him.

That's when things got a little more chaotic. Bischofite joined the party, his familiar aura crashing into Xenotime's senses and making her stiffen, breath drawing in before easing out between parted lips. Gun metal eyes found intense gold, and the soft point of the girl's chin tilted in idle curiosity at the whispered warning that graced her ear. Pale fingers brushed dark fabric, sliding along the crimson sash at his waist. Draw to touch, unable to resist. But something dark crashed into him, sent him crashing into Ida, and the captain was moving before she fully realized what had happened.

More people were stepping into the fray, and it was a girl in white with wild, emerald hair that sent an elbow at the monochromatic cheek of the shadow general. Shadows were appearing on all sides, hell bent on the destruction of their original. It wasn't a proper battle, it was a free-for-all, and as of yet not a single powered figure had aimed a blow at the opposing side. It was all the murderous shades, their objectives single-minded and simplistic.

The senshi might have already rushed to her general's aid, but Xenotime was there as well, a strong hand curled around a dark clad arm, hoisting him up before she was ripped roughly away b greyscale fingers twisted tight into violet locks. Tearing at the roots. And of course the captain screamed, startled and furious as she dragged to the ground by that iron tight grip, an all to familiar face grinning maliciously down at her.

In that moment she realized fear as never before, and in that moment she understood that whispered warning in sharp edged, absolute clarity.

Kill or be killed, an amazingly simple game with only one unbreakable rule. Only the strong survived. The captain was strong. She grabbed the wrist that held her, twisting against the painful grip to launch the heel of her boot up against her shade self's stomach. Forcing her back, forcing those fingers to loosen enough to break free from. Xenotime rolled back and away, coming up on her feet just in time to receive a round house kick aimed for her face. It caught her across the cheek and jaw, light bursts exploding in her vision as her head rocked back, body spinning from the force to collapse in a groaning heap in the roof top. "Mother ********.." She tasted blood, metallic and sweet, and she spat, testing the pained edge of a busted lip with the tip of her tongue as she got back to her feet.

This was really going to hurt.

It was a madhouse, and Tsui wasn't exactly sure where to start. The first problem that had sprung up, besides the obvious Negaverse officers that were in the area, were the shades, and just when she was hoping that there's only be one to deal with, another sprung up and one that made the Tiger senshi groan. If it wasn't bad enough that the normal Xenotime was there and going to give her trouble, but her shade would certainly prove to be quite a foe as well. Or would, if the shade didn't seem so completely intent on destroying the original. If anything, it was a small relief, but for how long?

That relief didn't last long, of course, as another officer made his way towards them, and this one caused Tsui's eyes to widen. Of all the generals in the Negaverse's employment to arrive, it would figure that it'd be Benitoite, and despite his calm words and call to action against the shades that had popped up, the Senshi of Tigers cast a suspcious gaze towards him. He was suggesting an alliance, even if only temporarily... when she could have easily allowed Xenotime's and the Senshi's shades deal with them. At least two less to worry about in the long run- had the situations been reversed, no doubt they'd leave them to die...

And yet, Ida's presence and now Persephone's presence, as well as the arrival of a very familiar general with feathers and death permeating all over him and his own damned shade, did it's job in keeping the Tiger senshi there, as well as her unquenchable desire to fight. She moved close to Ida and the other senshi, fists raised and taking a defensive stance in front of them as she looked between the three shades, even when told that there was a fourth one on the way. "I don't know what's up with them, but they're starting to get on my nerves! As if we don't have enough to deal with on our own!"

This was no time to complain! Persephone had struck out against Bischofite's double, and that gave Tsui an idea. Seeing Benitoite striking against the corrupted's double, she looked to Ida, offering a plan of attack to her comrade. "Right, go help Xenotime with her double. I'll help Persephone with feathers! Hold nothing back, Xeno's tough."

She didn't know what kind of encounters Ida may have had with Bischofite in the past, but if Bischofite suddenly turned on either of them, Tsui felt safer knowing that Ida was probably with the saner of the two. She left little room for argument before rushing after Persephone, giving a shout to both her fellow White Moon senshi and the general, her arms and entire form glowing brilliantly white as she charged at Shade Bischofite. "Move! Glorious White Tiger!"

Tsui's Attack
Eternal Sailor Attack: Glorious White Tiger.
The energy that SailorTsui’s been collecting not only envelops her fists, but has migrated to her legs as well, and her charge is even more ferocious than ever. She starts her assault with a powerful lunge forward, adding momentum to her strike, followed by her signature Tiger Fist motion, striking downward in an X motion and knocking the enemy back even further if she is able to connect, and she uses the last bit of her energy to leap backwards to add further distance between them. Like her Super attack, she is able to aim at specific limbs and can physically stun the limb, preventing the opponent from using that limb for ten seconds. She puts absolutely everything into the attack, hoping to incapacitate or greatly weaken the enemy as she will be completely drained of power and left vulnerable for ten seconds after the blow.

*Knocks enemy back by 4 feet
*Chance to physically stun enemy for 10 seconds
*Can attack twice per battle
