The newly minted Squire of Pluto had not been expecting the sudden power up, but he was glad he had finally managed to earn it. He was always craving more power, wanting to be able to really do something against the Negaverse, but so far he felt like he was constantly coming up short.
Maybe now, with his suped up robo-glove and his unknown magic, he might stand a better chance against the Negaverse and its many croonies. He hated them all, and he needed to kill them one at a time, if that was what it took. He just needed to get used to what new powers he had, and what his limits were.
He was bad with limits.
Tonight, he was focused. He had to test himself and that meant training, working out. He found a quiet area on the rooftops that he could use to leap around on, down to the ground, do some flips and wall jumps and just practice his climbing and parkour. He had to remain lithe: he found that was the most effective skill he had so far in battles. People always took pause when he did a flip.
And he could always use those pauses to his advantage.
At the moment he was testing the strength of his arms by doing a handstand over the edge of a dumpster, to see how long his arms would last before they got that familiar acid build up and began shaking.

Eden was for once in her life, enjoying a blissfully uneventful patrol. No one had tried to rip out her starseed, no one had tried to kill her simply for being a knight, no one had even looked at her funny thanks to it being so close to Halloween.
She held her lantern loosely in one hand, its little gilded cage swaying in time with her steps. Even though it was chilly, the night held promise of being lovely, the skies clear of clouds and the wind a subdued and gentle breeze.
For the first time in several months, Eden felt herself relax, almost as if she were on a pleasure stroll. the heels of her boots clicked lightly on the concrete as she walked down the sidewalk of a shopping district, her mind wondering. So much so in fact, she almost walked right passed the sense of another aura.
Blinking she paused, tilting her head, and following the feeling to the souse. She rounded a corner and found....
A Gladiator?
Upside down?
On a dumpster?
Yes, he certainly looked like a gladiator, completely with a bazillion leather straps on his outfit, that for all its strappyness, left a large amount of skin exposed. She blinked again, wondering what on earth he was doing.
She cleared her voice, thought her curiosity was evident. " I'm not quite sure what you are doing, but I must say it makes quite an odd sight. " She said, tilting her head again, almost as if she were trying to look at him right side up, the action making the ends of her opalescent hair brush against the ground.

Luxor was not expecting company and while he felt the aura approaching he was not sure they were heading toward him. Being upside down messed with his perception, really. He heard her voice and it was confirmed that she was, in fact, near him, and he quickly shoved off of the dumpster and landed in a crouch on his feet. He straightened up, making sure his leather and straps were covering him appropriately.
He frowned at her, though if it was a true frown or just his normal bland expression was up for interpretation. It took a while for people to get used to his stoic attitude, and to realize that he did care for people even though his face never really showed it.
That was what made smiles even more memorable from him. They really had to earn it, and be patient. It was an elusive thing, his smile.
He did look a little red in the face. It might have been from the blood rushing to his head, or it might have been from his embarrassment. He was not about to tell. He did not want her to see too much of him while he was upside down.
"I thought I was alone here," he said flatly, eyebrows furrowed. He stared at her pointedly when he said that, as well.

As he did a flip, and rose into standing position, Eden did as well, the corners of her lips twitching into a grin as he adjusted his outfit. She of all people could understand the woe's of impractical battle garb. The rather modest Evalia had been completely mortified at the length, or lack there of, of her own outfit. She was no stranger to making sure you didn't accidentally flash someone.
But of course being a girl she was probably more used to it then the other very male knight.
And he was glaring at her. Way to go Eva, she thought to herself. Finally find someone who isn't out to kill you and irritate him right off of the bat.
Of course she had no idea why, or even that the rather tall man before her had a bit of a dry attitude to begin with, and she sort of flinched in on herself.
" Ah.. Oh I'm sorry, I didn't mean to disturb your... uh... yoga? " she said, not really quite sure exactly what he was doing, but it was really the only word she could think of that even came close appropriate. She eyed him curiously. " I was just curious as to why on earth you would chose there, surely there must be a more comfortable location then a dumpster in an alley. " She leaned to the side, peering around him, at his rather fragrant perch.

Luxor stared at her, his look infinitely patient save for the way his eyesbrows furrowed together, and added an edge of anger to his look. He stared at her for a too long moment, the pause stretching painfully before he finally broke it with a sharp sigh.
"Not yoga," he said in a clipped down.
The Knight moved to dust his pants off again. He refused to call it anything but pants, though it was very clear that they were not pants of any kind and he was being far too generous with that term. Still, if he had to call it a skirt he would just give up on life and go curl up in a corner where no one could talk to him or tease him about it, ever.
"I'm strength training. I just became a Squire, and I want to see what my body can do now. I was testing it out." He spoke slowly and paused between sentences, watching her blandly as if he was not even interested in what he was saying. He looked away from her. "I usually do this alone."
It was a statement of fact, not an accusation or an effort to be passive aggressive. But it certainly sounding like either of those, or something just as negative.
"I thought I would be alone here."

She raised an eyebrow as he spoke. Not yoga, but strength training. Chartreuse eyes raked over Luxor, and Eden could admit he certainly didn't look like he needed strength training.
" A squire... So that makes you a knight? ...like me? " She added the last part in quiet voice, not quite certain. " I suppose that would make you stronger then me to. " But by the looks of him, that probably would have been true regardless of rank. Eden wasn't exactly short or anything, in fact she was taller then average, but she was slender to the point of ridicule, result of her vegetarian diet and a fast metabolism that left her with no muscle mass to speak of.
" Ah... I see. " She watched him as he turned away. She tried very hard not to imagine the last time she had wondered into an alleyway. Pushing aside the memory of screams, of the Captain Natron plunging his hand into her chest, of her inability to save the poor man who had done nothing wrong other then catch the captains attention and have the unfortunate luck of her being the one to try and save him. She didn't think she would ever willingly seek out an empty alleyway to be alone in.
She shook her head a little bit, the shudder running through her whole body, like a small bird shaking itself free of water. Luckily he was looking away and so she thought the involuntary shiver would go unnoticed.
Hm...
Tall...
Tall, dark and broody...
Likes to train alone...
Like... like Batman.
If Batman walked around without a shirt on and took a sudden liking to Egyptian accessories.
" Is there a big difference so far, that you can tell? Between Page and Squire? " Her heart gave a little leap at the thought... she was sure tired of almost getting killed at every turn.

Luxor nodded his head. They were two knights, though he was not familiar with her planet. He was not really familiar with any of the other planets except his, and even then he had only gone to Pluto once and that was with someone else to their wonder. It was very strange, but he wanted to go to his wonder, as well, he just hadn't had the time.
Or maybe he wanted to go with someone, and didn't know how to ask.
Luxor was very muscular. He spent a lot of his time working out and keeping himself in optimal performance shape. now he had to think about fighting bad guys, which only made him work harder. He wanted to be stronger than his enemies, and he wanted to make sure they didn't hurt any innocent people. That, of course, meant defeating them. Permanently.
"I'm stronger," he said after a long moment of just staring at her and looking vaguely annoyed by her presence. He was used to being alone, and while sometimes he seemed to be infinitely patient, other times it seemed like he had no patience whatsoever, though his expression wasn't different either way.
He watched her, as if expecting that to be enough to answer her question.

" Yeeeah, but how much stronger? Is your average for upside down dumpster holding double? " she held up two fingers " Or triple? " she changed to three? " She was extremely interested in knowing, and she was also completely oblivious to the fact that she was probably annoying him." And how did you get an upgrade? No one has told me? I would just like to be strong enough to being able to keep people from touching my starseed, whatever the heck that is, or you know trying to murder me, because they seem very prone to trying and- " She was talking very very fast now, hew normal calm and serene demeanor overtaken by the knowledge that Mr. Grumpycat might have the answers to her not dieing.
Its not that she was trying to be annoying, she just wasn't very well informed on the procedure of gaining more power. She had met Camelot, and he was certainly a lot stronger then her, she just sort of assumed he popped out ready to kick a**, because no one had explained the difference to her. Like if Knight forms were life cars. She got the tin can version, and Camelot got the tank. So she now inched a little bit closer as she rapid fired asking questions, wrongly assuming this encounter would be like her meeting with Persephone, who had happily explained what a Senshi was to her.

Luxor watched her as patiently as he was able to, which was not particularly patient at all. He had a very limited tolerance for all things people related, and the small quota he could actually tolerate had already been met for the day, it seemed.
His facial expression did not change for the bland stare as she spoke, though he thought about her question for a moment despite looking like he was just going to not answer her any more.
At length, he spoke.
"I don't know how it works for everyone, but I powered up because I needed to. I just... got stronger. My weapon, this glove, changed, and when it did, I got a new outfit and more strength. That's how it works for knights, I guess." He couldn't assume he was different from any other knights, after all, so if it happened to him he felt it was safe to assume it happened to all the others.
Nothing made him all that special, after all.
She was a knight, too, though, so he hoped he was telling her the right thing. If she ended up powering up a different way, like with the starseed like she mentioned, he was going to be made a liar. And for all his faults, lying was not among them.

Eden nodded encouragingly as he spoke. " Ooooh... I wonder what triggers the change " She tilted her head and ogled his glove a little bit, probably invading poor Luxor's personal space. How nice would it be to not die every time you stepped out powered up? Eden was, to say the least, a bit of a dunce when it came to making other people uncomfortable, and reading very obvious body language, but maybe it was Mr. Batma's voice, but something clicked in her brain that she was bothering the poor guy who just wanted to be trained and left the hell alone.
" Um, thank you for answering my questions, I really appreciate it. They should, like, have all of this written down or something for newbies " She smiled a little awkwardly, hoping she really didn't bother him TO much. " I really do appreciate it, and I hope your training goes well! " She back pedaled down the alleyway, turning the corner and wondering when she would get it together. She was normally so collected in her every day life, what was it about being powered up that turned her into an awkward fool? It seemed counter productive.
Eden spied a little coffee shop kiddy corner from her, with a cherry little sign stating it was open late, and smiled to herself. She scampered across the street, and into the coffee shop, smiling at the slightly confused barista who was probably not expecting a big shimmering rainbow thing to come in at 2am. She ordered a large black coffee, and asking for a little bag that pasties normally come in, filling it with some little cream cups and bags of sugar, and borrowing the sharpie no the counter, thanking the barista. She was really grateful she had grabbed a 20 on her way out, expecting to maybe get some food at one of the food carts that catered to the people at the night-clubs, but she had been so nervous about being out as a page she hadn't bothered to eat anything.
Eden scrawled in her looping script, Thank you for the answers! Good luck Batman! ~Eden
She went back to the alley, peeking around the corner to see Luxor there still training. laid out a napkin and set the coffee down in the light, settle the little bag of accouterments beside it, and giving him a small wave, and a quick point at the coffee before giving a final smiling and heading off on her way, feeling a little bit lighter, and her brain filled with the possibilities of not being a derpy little page forever.

Luxor was tense, but he did his best to not show how uncomfortable he was. He failed miserably, if only because it was hard to hide his entire body growing tense and his hands clenching into tight fists as he scowled at her but held his ground.
He was never going to be good with people, he imagined. Well. Small steps.
"I hope I answered them well enough. I don't know too much, but I... am happy to help."
That was a difficult thing to say, if only because it seemed like he had absolutely no ability to understand words like 'happy', anyway. He was told how to use them in context, but it was still a work in progress.
Once she skittered off, he assumed that was the last he would see of her, and returned his focus to his training. It was easy enough to get lost in that, anyway, because it was something he liked to do. And it came much easier than interacting with someone else, most definitely. He was surprised to see her return, with coffee, and the gesture actually managed to bring a smile to his stony, serious face.
She was a nice kid, he decided, and he hoped they would meet again. So he could do a better job of being friendly.
