Chapter Rundown

Chapter 555: The Hero
(Just from the title, I'm already hyped. )
We start off with some of the zero squad members (can't recall names at the moment) making sure Ichigo is all set up, which he is, and now he has another awesome new attire.
AND BOTH ZANGETSU! I was figuring he'd have a sealed form zanpakuto finally, but no, he has one zangetsu back mounted as it's always been and one at his side and with the new threads he looks really rouge-ish.
Then, as usual, his scene goes from serious to foolish. Starting with him looking for the capsule thing they first got there in, just to be told he has to take the stairs...figuratively speaking. (man that's a long way to go)
After being told that it'd take about a week at Ichigo's normal pace, captain Pompadour expects Ichigo to freak out and fly off the deep end, like he usually would. And much to his (and my) surprise, Ichigo seemed to handle that very calmly.
Captain Pompadour then remarks that it's a long trip, egging Ichigo into telling him to make up his mind before explaining that if it took a week at a normal pace, he could make it there in about 12 hours if he gunned it.
(Just how fast is he planning on going!?)
Just as things were about to get underway Captain Beardo shows up laughing at Ichigo's reasoning and further informs him that the Quincies have already attacked.
Ichigo darts down the path yelling that he should have said so sooner. (ah, there's the typical Ichigo we know and love) No sooner he departs, Captain Cooking Mama (yeah, I'm just winging it with nicknames here) shows up and throws food to him, in case he gets hungry on his way there. Ichigo thanks her and darts further along down the path.
The squad zero members, Beardo, Pompadour, and Cooking Mama, all remark as to how Ichigo has changed. (seriously. What his with this new vibe he's giving off!?) At first they were saying he was stronger, and that he'd matured, before Beardo makes the statement that he's not stronger in brute strength, but his spirit and his repertoire have gotten stronger and that he'd finally became like a real soul reaper. (Now they're really making me curious to see just how much he's grown.)
Now we move over to Urahara who's on the "phone" with Ichigo, who's telling him that he's on his way. Ichigo then precedes to tell him to ask the others to hold out as long as they can and promises that when he gets there he will do something and a unique expression crosses Urahara's face. (I can't quite tell what that expression is of, it looks kind of happy, but sad at the same time)
Ichigo then comments that Urahara hadn't told him the condition of the Soul Society and he grabs his new turban (for lack of better words) and either throws it aside or holds it down tight as he guns it down the path at full speed.
Now, back in the Soul Society. We have Shinji standing before one of the vandenriech in her vollstaendig form just before getting blasted by something, much to Komamura's surprise. (Crap, don't tell me we just lost Shinji.)
It moves over to the other vandenriech who were suppose to be with the one that was with Shinji and Komamura, one of which who is also in the Vollstaendig form. Apparently a lot of them activated this form due to resonating with one another? And one of them makes the comment that the chick that they were suppose to be with, if she was in that form, it was enough to end the war in an instant.
