Some of this is common sense to people, but others may not have heard of these terms and abbreviations before. Consider this post to be a general dictionary of RP jargon, as well as the bracketed tags that are REQUIRED for titles of new threads.
The tags are as follows:
[OOC]:
Out-
Of-
Character. This means that in threads like these, you post like you'd normally do on Gaia. You do not RP in these threads. I would like to keep threads with tags to a minimum, and used only for important announcements.
[ORP]:
Open
Role
Play. ORP threads are places to go for general RP scenes. They are public threads, anyone can join in and go IC to play with anyone else at the area.
[PRP]:
Private
Role
Play. PRP threads are threads set up by someone to play in a private scene with another user(s). Please do not post in these unless you were explicitly invited by the owner of that thread to participate in the RP. Once the scene finishes, please edit the thread title's tag to CRP.
[CRP]:
Closed
Role
Play. CRP threads are PRP threads where the roleplay has ended and the scene is considered over. Do not post in a thread tagged CRP, as it is closed. Mods will lock CRP threads as soon as possible.
[Journal]: Journal threads are pretty self-explanatory, you
must may maintain one of these if you own an animal from The Antherios Project. Only Alphonse Moreau is allowed to start journal threads. They are not typically used to roleplay in (as we have places for those already).
Update as of 7/14/06: Journals are no longer required.Also, post in this thread if you are unsure in general about RP jargon. One of us will happily explain what those new and confusing nerd words mean. :3
