Should we have a brainstorming thread, or allow it in this OOC thread? |

Welcome to the OOC thread for The Kuro Gang: Black Ops main roleplay. This thread is intended for discussion of plots, characters, setting details, and other aspects of the roleplay. This is not a general chatter thread. Any posts violating this policy will be promptly deleted.Post quality guidelines: Stuff unrelated to the roleplay (like posting about Gaia in general or any IRL-related chatter) do not belong here; they go into the Roleplayers' General Chat (RGC). Stuff pertaining to anything posted in the character rooms subforum doesn't belong here either, as it's a "meta" roleplay with no canonical relationship with the main RP. Discussion of the pre-revision/"Part Zero" thread of the main RP is allowed Discussion of other roleplays are not allowed. Take it to that roleplay's OOC thread. Some degree of character mule-related shenanigans is acceptable, but it shouldn't overtake any ongoing discussion.

So thankful someone posted. How are we going to move out of this lull?
I want to have the big confrontation.

Oh hey new forums and stuff..
As far as the RP goes, I'm still stuck with Angelo's characters, so until he posts I can't really do much unless we guide them back to HQ, but even then we would need him to post for Luc's big confrontation to get moving past this little sub-plot.
Tbh, I think the story arcs were sort of working better than the free-form rp we have going. It gave us a more clear direction of where to lead the story so we could usually post even if the lead writer for the arc was missing. I think if we plan on getting this RP moving again we not only need more active users, but a clearer story direction. I think that's part of why the rp is floundering.

Moving the plot: @Koji: I suppose you can cut to the part where the car arrives at HQ. and Koji notices Nari dragging Twi toward HQ. It also plays well with the end of your last post in the RP. @Nariana: I know the confrontation thing is a huge deal and was expected. I'd do a little quick post responding to Twi and Sabe before Koji gets a post in, if you can. Sometimes if the plot dragged to a lull, it meant it was time to skip ahead some. Story Arcs: @Koji: Interesting. I've never once heard that about the arc system. Though you're somewhat incorrect about what happens when the lead was missing; it depended on how long and how often they're gone, and if there was enough subplot going on to keep people busy. We'll have to get a consensus on this, but it may not be applicable until the post-revision thread. @ both of you: The temporary planning thread that's not stickied is where we'll be posting what we want to change, what to add, see what others are doing, then adjust so everything fits together. This will be coming sooner than you think.

I posted~ And Koji skips to the end of the car ride, we might be better off. Idk, not sure how this will work tbh. I like story arcs because it gives you a small inkling of what's ahead, especially if you've been inactive for a short time and need to hop back in. If we had more activity, I'd love to continue with the free-for-all/whatever, though. But I'm starting to wonder if this guild in particular needs to stick to some structure with arcs. Also, new threads are confusing, lol. x__x I will adhere to new rules, but I apologize in advance if I happen to post in the wrong allocated thread once or something. xD

So that's two votes for arc system's comeback. We'll see what the other two think. On new threads: I know it's a sudden change, but it'll work out fine. It's already being convenient by letting me know what kind of thing I'm being quoted for before I even get to the thread. smile

While I planned for this thread would be locked until needed, the other two had gotten to it and posted since they have crew status. So I guess it's unlocked now. What do you two think about bringing back the arc system as a means of guiding the plot in a clear direction?

[Shrug] I'm cool with Arcs coming back. I kinda missed them somewhat. [Nods]
Anyway, I suppose I'll get to posting now.
Edit: Alright. I posted.

Twi let me know the thread was accidentally locked a few days ago (it's fixed now), and said in the same PM that he also votes in favor of arcs. All of you agree then, arcs are coming back (after revision). Sounds good. smile Got any ideas for an arc? Anybody want to go first?

All of you agree then, arcs are coming back (after revision). Sounds good. smile Got any ideas for an arc? Anybody want to go first? I'm down. my idea is that we reveal more details into the connection and/or isolation of the Black Ops to/from the rest of the Kuro Gang. perhaps come up with ideas as to why it is they would be left so in the dark. is it simply that they don't have the "nerve" to engage in acts of terrorism? or is it that they are a rare branch to have such a high value of honour stretching beyond mere race relations? there could be a private investigation by members of the KGBO. but, obviously, it would resolve with some sort of justification for them to stay loyal to the Don. Twi may end up being the pariah again, scapegoated as the reason behind the KGBO being isolated or misled. but then again, I don't want to overuse that common trope. what does everyone else think?

I think I need a hug. This homework is sucking so bad. ;n;I like the idea of putting more backstory into why we have the isolated gang we have. I currently have no ideas for that because my brain is sucked dry by evil engineering homework. I have no details for this, whatsoever, but what if you rewrote Twi? What if he didn't get turned until more recently? Like, he was a dark elf when KGBO met him, but (insert here) happened and caused all the problems we have with him today. My only other idea for the night. ;n;

Kind of unrelated but it did just dawn on me: How is Nariana able to stay so squeaky-clean in the business world and elsewhere while actively working for the largest and most prominent mafia in Durem if not in Gaia, and in one of their elite forces to boot? Idk, food for thought.

I kinda like the reveal, too. Where we reveal why the Kuros went on radio silence. I've a few ideas for it. [Nods]
I actually want to do another Halloween style Arc that I did a few years ago, too. It was a fun Arc.
I've a number of Arc ideas. One of them seemed to be favoured by Jay; It's where Angels and Demons give us a task to find 'Fate's book', because a renegade demon (or something) is trying to unmake all existence. The best part is: The book falls into the hands of a 13 year old Weeaboo girl. [Nods] Imagine all of the "KAWAII DESU NE" b.s. that would ensue.

Idk, food for thought. I kind of just left that as a "mystery". xD I was like, 'Meh. Ain't nobody gotta know her business. emotion_awesome ' Never thought the profiles of the members were just a publicly known thing. Sounds more mystical than normal... Might be good!

The profiles we post in the Private Offices thread are represented by actual documents in the RP. Twi was after some of these in his last visit to HQ. I thought it would be neat if she ran said business as a 'front' or to make the Kuros loads of money, which would also have some plot hooks built in. If you'd like, we can flesh out the details in the other thread.
