"Mama, I got Teddy's blanket. It is really starting to get cold. Do you think I should grab a coat? Is there anything else I am going to need? What kind of costume do you think I should get? Something cute or scary?"Fluff's excited voice called to Dea as he brought a blue blanket to her. The woman with brunette hair smiled to the Sentret boy as she took the blanket and wrapped it around Teddy.
"Bri, bri!"Teddy chirped happily from Dea's hands. It was clear the little Togepi was excited. He knew that his family were going out to look for costumes for Halloween. He wasn't sure what he was going to be, but he knew his mama would help him pick something wonderful.
"Thank you for the blanket, Fluff. Yes, I suggest getting your jacket and the bag of stuff we use for Teddy. Also, I am not sure, hon, we will see when we get there. Everyone ready?"Dea asked as Fluff went to get his jacket, then came back out. Lucy and Eilam both nodded as they came out of their rooms and joined their trainer/mother in the living room.

Tristan wasn't in the best of moods: he had tantrumed earlier that day in hopes of convincing Timmy to take him to where his father worked. Instead he had given the skitty teen a rather shocking experience. Literally. He'd shocked his uncle with some sort of move. Timmy had explained, after recovering, that though they were no longer Pokemon, in a sense, they still possessed the abilities. "I don't even know why we're going," he complained. He wasn't sure what he wanted to be. He wasn't sure he wanted to go.
Timmy quieted him with a look. "I don't know about you, but I'm excited to find a costume," he prompted his nephew. His tone was nearly testy. Being shocked for the second time in his life clearly hadn't made the experience any easier.
"I guess I'm excited too," he muttered, glaring in Timmy's direction.

Fluff handed Dea the bag baby bag they used for Teddy and she slung it over her shoulder. Fluff saw Timmy and Tristan join them and he gave a wary look to Dea, as if asking if Tristan going was a good idea.
"He is going to yell at me again. He still says I talk too much. Are you sure he should go with us? What if he causes a scene?"Fluff asked Dea in a whisper. It wasn't like him not to be considerate of everyone, but he didn't like how mean Tristan had been to him. He knew, however, that his mother had said he needed to be patient with him, since it was still new to him. He knew she was right and he needed to be more forgiving and kind...like she was.
"Togi togi pi!"Teddy cheered when he saw Timmy and Tristan. He liked having more people around the house. He knew Timmy was family, though he wasn't sure about Tristan. He didn't seem to care about how the small Minun had been behaving. he knew everything would be alright.
"Everything will be fine, alright? Timmy, can you go get some water bottles out of the fridge for us, I don't want anyone to become dehydrated. Plus, your father would bite my head off if I wasn't drinking plenty of water for the babies,"Dea spoke softly.

Tristan's expression darkened as he heard Fluff's words. He crossed his arms over his chest and huffed. "You know, despite your obvious attempts at whispering, you're still a loudmouth," he grumbled. He resented the fact that Fluff thought he would cause a scene. And what if he did? He had just lost his parents! He had every right to cause a scene if he wanted to. He stuck his tongue out at Fluff before turning away from him.
Timmy shook his head at Tristan, sighing. He glanced at Dea and nodded. "Of course, momma," he said. He went to fetch the water bottles requested. He hoped Tristan would be able to get along with everyone: but today was already off to a bad start.

Fluff's eyes widened when he heard Tristan speak about hearing what he said and he ducked behind Dea. There Tristan went being mean to him again...but he guessed he had been mean too. He sighed softly, meeting the eyes of his mother as she looked down at him. He knew what she wanted to do and he nodded his head.
"I'm sorry, Tristan. I know how it is being someone new. I hid in my room a long time. Mama was very patient and kind to me,"Fluff spoke.
"Togi togi togi pi!"Teddy spoke, trying to tell Fluff things would work out. He could sense the tension and he wished everyone could along. They were a family, he didn't like all of the yelling.
"Tristan, I have been meaning to ask you something. I know you love your parents, but if you want, I could adopt you,"Dea suggested quietly. She didn't know what the Minun would say, but she could at least let him know what she had been thinking.

Tristan ignored Fluff for the most part. He only turned to blow a raspberry in the other boy's direction. He knew what Fluff was doing. He had done it himself, a few times: apologizing for the benefit of his mother. He was sure Fluff didn't really mean it. And acting like he knew how he felt! No one knew how he felt! He'd been thrown out! Locked out of the only place he had ever called home. He swallowed, turning to frown at Fluff.
"You don't have to pretend," he said. "You don't have to like me just because your mom wants you to. Or like you know what its like. You don't! No one does. Your trainer gave you to someone who loves you! You should have been grateful. My Papa didn't. He locked me out. He said 'get the hell out of my house'! He told me to go away!" The minun wrapped his arms tightly around himself. "So don't pretend you know. Don't pretend we're friends, because we're not." He studied Dea, before shaking his head. "I'm waiting to see if Papa calls. Jayme told me he'd try to get him to."

Fluff felt his eyes welling up with tears and he looked up to Dea with those big eyes of his. He was really trying to be friends with the Minun, but everytime he tried, the other boy was mean.
"I will wait outside for you, Mama. I can take Teddy out for some fresh air. I am sure he would like that. I love you, Mama. I did try,"Fluff told her quietly, his ears flattened against his head. He gently took Teddy from Dea and then walked outside. Dea motioned with her head for Eilam to follow him and the Arceus man nodded his understanding.
"Bri...togi pi!"Teddy cheered, he liked when they got to go outside. He didn't like Fluff crying though, he knew his brother was always happy. Maybe the fresh air would do him some good too, he looked like he could use some time outside.
"Alright, Tristan, I can understand you waiting then. Just know the offer still stands, whenever you find out,"Dea replied. Yes, she could have yelled at him, but she knew she needed to be patient, just as she had with Timmy and Fluff.

Tristan might have preferred it if she had yelled. He had been about to inform Dea that the only reason he was still with her television worthy happy family was because his Papa's friend, Jayme, had asked him to. Stay somewhere safe, so they knew where he was. Papa might come for him. He felt foolish, almost, believing in that as firmly as he did. Even Jayme hadn't seemed sure Papa would come find him. Now he had a Leave it to Beaver type mom trying to adopt him?
He wasn't sure of anything anymore. "I'll think about it," he said stiffly. "But I'm sure Papa will be coming to get me soon. It was a misunderstanding, that's all."
Timmy walked in about that time, with water bottles in hand.
"Where's Fluff?" He asked.

Dea saw Timmy return to the room and she took the bottles from him, before putting them in her bag. She leaned lightly on her cane and winced a little when he asked where Fluff was.
"Thank you for the water bottles, kiddo. Fluff stepped outside with Eilam and Teddy for some fresh air. Alright, Tristan, I hope you are right that he comes for you. Just know you are not alone,"she replied, giving Timmy a meaningful look. She hoped he would figure out what might have happened.
Meanwhile, outside, Fluff was leaning against one of the Oak trees in their yard.
"It is so hard to talk to him. I always say something to upset him. Was I this bad my first week here? Did I make Mama cry?"Fluff asked, looking over to Eilam. It saddened him even more to think of his mother crying, he loved her so. He didn't want to think he had ever hurt her...but he had been mean to her.
"Bri bri?"Teddy asked, wondering if his brother was okay. He couldn't imagine him hurting their mother, not ever. Of course, he had not been around when their mother had adopted Fluff, so he wouldn't know. He still didn't think Fluff would have hurt her, least not intentionally.
"You just have to be patient, Fluff. He really believes his dad will come for him. Julie told you she had to move and brought you to Dea, his dad didn't do that. You just have to remember, not everything is easy for everyone. Just look at Dea, she has a disease that can come up at any time. Even she has been sad and frustrated, you have seen it yourself. And no, I don't think she cried, but she was sad you wouldn't let her in. Don't worry though, she knows you love her now,"Eilam smiled.

Timmy nodded in understanding. He knew Tristan had complete faith that Urban would come for him. Dea must have offered to adopt him. He sighed, gestering at his watch. He hoped she understood: the boy needed time. At some point, his faith in his father would fail. Someone would have to be there to catch him when it did. "Maybe we can call Jayme later, and see if he's heard anything," he said, hoping to ease the tension in the room. "You can tell him about your costume! I bet he'd like that." While Timmy would have preferred Tristan confide in him, he knew sometimes it was easier to confide in someone further away.
"For a family excited to get costumes, you sure are slow," the minun grumbled. "Let's go already!"

Dea caught her son's gesture and gave him a discreet nod, she knew it would take time. Like those children she had recently under her wing, well Timmy and Fluff, they had to find their own way before accepting their new family.
"Alright, Timmy go get your daughter and we can head out. And we are going, as soon as Krissy is gotten, then we will go shopping,"Dea assured.
"You think Mama is ready to go yet? I am ready to get my costume. I don't know what to be yet. Mama seems confident I will pick something good. I hope she is right,"Fluff told Eilam.
"Bri Togi pi togi pi togi!"Teddy comforted, knowing his brother would do just fine. He wasn't sure what he wanted to be either, but that was why they were going out to look. Maybe they could find a chocolate bar costume for him to be, he sure did love chocolate.
"I am sure they are getting what they need, getting Krissy, then coming right out,"Eilam assured.

Krissy didn't need to be gotten. The cincino came hurrying to Timmy's side. "Daddy! Are we going yet? Are we? I want to be something pretty! Why is everyone still here?" She asked, gazing about the room. She frowned. She reached up and wrapped her paw around Tristan's thumb. "Let's dress up together," she said. "We're cousins! It'll be fun!"
Tristan gave her a hesitant smile. She reminded him of his sister. He nodded. "Sure," he said. "You can help me pick out a costume!" He scooped Krissy up and carried her outside. He ignored Fluff's presence, but shot Eilam a shy smile, and nodded to Teddy.
"Be patient, Momma," Timmy said. "He might stay. He might leave. He grew up in a rougher part of town, with a small family. I imagine all of this startles him." Maybe. "It scared me at first, anyway."

Dea reached over and hugged her son with her free hand, she knew how hard it had been on him to be part of a big family. It had hurt her at first, but she knew it was what he had needed.
"I know, kiddo, it was a lot for you to take, probably a lot for those not used to a big family. I will try and be patient and see what happens. Come on, let's get going, before they revolt out there,"Dea smiled.
Fluff looked up when he heard Tristan and Krissy come out, deciding to just try to keep from allowing this whole thing to get to him. He saw Eilam give Tristan a smile. He knew the older guy was very good at seeing things in a positive light, at least usually.
"I guess we are ready. I would think Mama and Timmy are on their way out. I wonder if I should be a super hero. Or maybe I could be a horse or cat. Oooo, or maybe a puppy dog,"Fluff mused, his tail swaying in thought.
Teddy smiled brightly when he saw the others making their way outside, it meant they could go shopping. He was looking forward to getting a Halloween costume and being able to get candy from houses on Halloween night.
"Bri bri!"he cheered.

When Tristan spotted Eilam's smile, a much more genuine one found its way across the minun boy's face. So not everyone was going to rush him or push him into joining the family. Or into being friendly with someone he didn't like. He was grateful. "What are you going to be, Eilam?" He asked. "Krissy and I are going as a set!" He glanced at Fluff. "You shouldn't be a puppy," he said. "Be something cool! Maybe I'll be an artist or an explorer."
Well there. He had spoken more than a sentence in Fluff's direction, and bben civil. "How come Teddy doesn't talk?" He wondered aloud. "Krissy never stops talking."
Timmy smirked, taking Dea's hand. "Let's go then," he said. He led his mother outside.

"Hmm, I am not sure what I want to be yet, Tristan. I am thinking maybe some kind of king or maybe I will be some kind of swash buckler, like Robin Hood. I am sure you and Krissy will find a nice pair of costumes to be,"Eilam smiled softly to the other.
Fluff looked a little surprised when the other actually talked to him nicely.
"Maybe a ninja would be fun to do. Or I could be a knight, like Eilam has been. Do you like painting? An explorer would be fun,"Fluff told him gently.
"Well, some Pokemon just say their name, at least in the company of those who cannot speak their language. Plus, he is still a baby, so his words aren't really well formed yet,"Eilam replied.
Dea smiled softly as she took her son's hand and allowed him to lead her outside.
"Everyone ready?"she asked when they got out to the others.
