"Falling through the void,
With no sense of gravity..."
The calm quiet air around Fuzuki Academy was suddenly, and violently shaken by the high pitched ring of the school bell, signalling the end of classes for the day. Soon the high pitched ringing was replaced by the clamor of students as they all spilled out of the building in a massive flock. Though clubs where in full swing this time of year, especially with the culture festival coming up, the current flock where gathering for what was by far the most popular club at this school "the go home club". Amongst the degenerates and do nothings all anxious to get home or go goof off, walked three special students in particular, a young blue haired boy (obviously dyed) flanked on each side by a cute...."girl".
"(yawn)...aaaah..oh man thank god that's over" the middle child, Akira Tachibana, said, stretching out his arms and cracking his neck as if he had just woken up.
"You know Aki, I'm sure school would seem like less of a chore if you didn't stay up all night" Remus said, a concerned smile on the pretty boy's face.
"sorry, no can do Remy! It's my new secret practice technique. Everyone knows the human body is capable of performing great feats when under extreme duress. So if I stay up super late the day before important tests and presentations, the anxiety and desperation in my brain will trigger my body to work twice as hard as usually. From there all I have to do is channel that energy away from studying over to my guitar and vocal practice. It's genius" The eccentric wanna be rockstar said.
"Ummm, I'm pretty sure that's not how that works Aki" Remy said, not wanting to completely squash the plan he seemed so proud of
"highly illogical" Lloyd pitched in his soft, almost monotone voice.
"trust me, I've been doing it for the past two weeks now and I can already tell the difference, I mean when I start playing late at night it sounds unreal" Akira told them.
"I'm pretty sure that's just the lack of sleep affecting your senses" Remy said.
"hallucinations of grandeur" Lloyd added.
"Oh what do you guys know? Last I checked neither of you where medical majors" Akira said with a chuckle, suddenly running out ahead of them once they reached the sidewalk, reaching into his blazer and pulling out an envelope.
"besides we have more important matters to attend to" he said the other two instantly shifting their interest to the envelope, both looking at it in awe and anticipation.
"As you both know our extensive efforts to get A.R. the main event spot at the culture festival has been delegated to popular student vote...imagine, the very fate of our group thrown to the proverbial wolves. I can barely imagine the indignity of loosing out to some two bit rendition of Hamlet, or even worse a....uggh....talent show...." he said, masterfully racketing up the tension.
"ooooh come on Aki just tell us already, we can tell you've already peeked at the results!" Remus said in spite of himself, biting his lip as he realized how impatient he was growing.
"my apologies Remy, you know I'm not one to keep a lady-boy waiting, lets see here..." he said, starting to slide the paper out of the envelope. Both Remus and Lloyd began standing on their tippy toes to try to get a better peak at what was inside, causing Akira to chuckle.
"ok really guys what did you expect? Ofcourse we won! It's the big stage for us bay-bay!" he exclaimed, pulling out the paper and showing they had won the vote in a landslide.
"Yes! Lloyd we did it!" Remy cheered, grabbing the shorter boy by the hands and prancing around with him, yanking Akira into the improvised celebration dance as well.
"woah woah woah alright alright calm down...I'm starting to feel woozy here!" Akira said dizzily, clutching his head.
"I think I'm gonna go take a nap after all...we'll celebrate later tonight alright, we'll go have dinner somewhere fancy...on Remy" Akira said, causing Remy to blush and look at him agape.
'what? but why do I have to pay for it?" Remy asked.
"well last I checked your the only one here who's litteraly made of money. When my family discovers that they're really heirs to an ancient wealthy Daimyo family I'll foot a few bills here and there, but for now I'm broke." Akira said with a Cheshire grin.
"just kidding, I actually got my first paycheck two days ago, and I've been looking for an excuse to flaunt some of this new found wealth, so it's on me this time" Akira told them, Remy smiling warmly and shaking his head.
"your a piece of work you know that Aki" he said.
"yep! and that's why you guys love me so much, chow!" he said, flashing them the peace sign as he headed off home, leaving Remy and Lloyd alone.
"I swear he's gonna crash and burn one of these days" Remy said, watching Akira leave.
"major burnout" Lloyd added.
"well I guess we have some time to kill while Akira gets some rest, wanna hang out around town? Oh I know, why don't we get Akira a present to celebrate getting that spot in the culture festival? I'll get you something too Lloyd" Remy said, seeing as this was a special occasion and everything. Lloyd responded with a simple nod and the two made their way into town, walking around and window shopping amongst the various venues. The two didn't say much, and really they didn't need to. Lloyd was always quiet regardless, and unlike Akira Remus didn't feel the need to yap a mile a minute to keep himself entertained. The two simply enjoyed each other's company in their own way, they sorta just evolved past needing to talk in a way.
"well I already know Akira's been ogling that new guitar for months, so it's a no brainer what his gift will be, so what about you Lloyd? Maybe we should upgrade your drums, they are a bit on the old side" Remus suggested. Lloyd looked up at him and shook his head, he honestly didn't need a new drum set, he felt comfortable using his old one still, and the stitched up stuff doll poking up out of his school bag was evidence enough that he wasn't the sort who just replaced their old things because there where newer shiner versions available, he was very sentimental in that regard.
"there" Lloyd said, pointing across the street to the town pet shop. Remus cocked his head to the side for a moment then glanced down at Lloyd. Honestly he hadn't figured Lloyd the type to keep pets, he never talked about wanting one before...then again now that Remus thought about it Lloyd never really TALKED about his likes and hobbies, they just kinda had to observe him doing them and draw their conclusions from that, so obviously for all they knew this desire for a pet could have been festering inside him for years.
"alright sure, why not? Sounds like fun actually" Remy said with a smile, the two making their way over to the pet shop.
The bell above the door chimed as the two walked into the store.
"wow, I don't think I've actually been in a Japanese pet store before" Remus said, looking around with a curious expression on his face. Normally two teenage guys walking into a pet shop together might look a tad bit off, however to the naked eye and ear both Remus and Lloyd appeared to be two cute young school girls. In fact one might imagine even the animals might have had trouble telling the difference, atleast for Remus, who gave off a very feminine scent due to the types of soaps and products he used. Remus smiled at the sight of all the animals, but flinched back when he heard agitated barking and saw a dog snapping at who looked to be an employee.
"oh my we didn't come in at a bad time did we?" Remus asked, peeking around Azalea to see the dog, a concerned look on his face.
"grumpy dog" Lloyd poignantly noted, though seemed not to take as much interest in the wolfish dog, instead finding himself drawn towards the reptile section, disappearing from Remuses side before he even had a chance to notice.
